This happened to me last night and I got a 4 second penalty.
I probably did about 30 A races, this week. Since my SR took at beating at RBR last week, I started this week at a D SR. I bounced between about 20 and 60 SR over the span of my A races. Because it's a really short track with close racing, I got a ton of SR downs because of getting bumped from the back. The only times I managed to gain SR was when I started up front and ran away from everybody. It's your only chance for a clean race, there.I tried a few more races on A last night, it doesn’t even seem like it’s worth playing right now, 2 wins for a total of 36 and 39 points gained each, 2 seconds for a loss of over 100 points each and a 3rd for an even bigger loss. SR went from 61 to 48 thanks to some jack@$$ who decided he wanted to bump the only A driver in the race at ever corner to make himself feel better, he hit me so many times that the guy who won the race ended up winning by 5 seconds, and his QT was almost a full second slower than mine. It’s awful hard to catch anyone when you’re getting rammed at ever corner by the guy who thinks that’s how you race. It sucks that other people can not only ruin your race, but your ratings that you’ve worked so hard to achieve. What a brutal week of racing.
I also learned a valuable lesson. Normally when I get passed on the track, I would fight to get those positions back. I now just let it be and drive within myself. As long as I finish in the top ten, things have been great points-wise. The wins will come.
It's been strangely compelling - the key has been getting through turn 1 on lap 1 OK. If I've managed that without getting a penalty from being rammed from behind, I've usually managed to move forward, and have managed a couple of wins (driving the 908).I'm sad to see this week end. I have been having a blast with Race C. Mind you I have not won any races but I am now about 3000 points away from my A driver rating. That has been the goal for me.

I’m sure my game is bugged. I’m running clean races and every time my SR is dropping points. I’ve got from S to B.
I think I cut more of the corner off than you. Then again I think I got a heavier contact than you too. It's kinda random. It's usually the car that doesn't go off road that gets the penalty. Here we both take a short cut, yet perhaps since I went off road more / longer / last ? I don't know. Sometimes you get lucky, more often you get screwed.
I've only played C at all this week but I've had a good time in it. What cars have you used in that race? I tried the R92CP once cause it had swept the qualifying leaderboards but I wasn't that good with it. Mostly I've used the LM55 (which is one of my go to Group 1s in general) but I did win with the 908 last night.I'm sad to see this week end. I have been having a blast with Race C. I used the R92CP for a couple of races, but it would get away from me once the tires got worn. I mainly used the LM55 and the Hyundai.

I am in Oceana now ... but we are about the same speed - although I think you'll be much faster soon. But the Mazda was easy in qualifying for me - very consistent times - but not fast in the race for me ... the Ford Mustang was dead easy to drive though and in both qualifying and the race, and I ended up using that for the last day. I had to try it because people were beating me up in their Mustangs. With the Mustang - no problems, fun again. With it I was able to claw some SR back as it got away on the straights and hence avoided end of straight traumas. Interlagos can be fun if you exit onto the main straight 0.50 seconds in front of the car behind and stretch the time to 0.9 just sitting there on the straight.... On the plus side, I did manage to drop my Q to a 1:33.14 and get another pole! I have to say I was dissapointed, though...heading towards start/finish I thought I might have my first 32. Still getting my best laps from the Mazda out of the cars I have. Got the gr3 Ford gt(LM?) and tried it. Handfull of laps and the best I could do was a low (ish) 34, though it feels fast. Easy to drive without TC though. The Mazda likes to break loose when the turbo kicks.
Never really driven the Hyundai much. The LM55 is an excellent all around car though. Easy enough on the tires, easy to control and the top end speed is quite good. And the 8 speed gearbox is nicely spaced. But it does have some understeer. For fuel I think I had around 4 laps worth after 6 laps. So a bit better than the Hyundai but not by much. I think the 908 is marginally slower than the LM55 for top end speed but not by much. I would agree that tire wear is the only major disadvantage of the 908 over the LM55. And with the diesel engine the 908 is pretty fuel efficient. Starting on pole I managed to make it to the end without refueling. I tried the R92CP a couple times and it's too hard on the tires.I'm not sure if there's a faster qualifying car than the Nissan R92CP, but there are several cars with a good race pace when you take tire wear and fuel into consideration.
My favorite has been the Peugeot 908. Top speed is pretty good but slower than the Nissan and the Hyundai. Corners WAY better than the Nissan and significantly better than the Hyundai. Fuel is great, only need a tiny splash at pit stop even if you don't conserve. Tire wear isn't as bad as the Nissan Group C, but not as good as the two cars listed below. This car is much easier to handle after a few laps than the Nissan is.
Hyundai VGT has got great top speed, just a little slower than the Nissan. Corners well, but not as good as the 908. The Hyundai's strong point is tire wear, the softs wear like mediums do on other cars. Weak point is fuel, I had 3.5 laps left instead of 5.5 at the pit stop. Big difference. Losing several seconds in the pits because of that.
Mazda LM55, slightly lower top speed than the 908, corners a little better than the Hyundai but not as well as the 908 and tire wear is pretty good. I don't remember about fuel though, but I feel that the 908 is superior to this car in every way except for tire wear.
If you're not in the top lobbies then any of these cars can be competitive, but I think if you have guys with qualy times in the low 1:22's or under in your race, go with the Nissan or the Peugeot to stay competitive.
I am the chosen one! Mighty hand of justice sent to strike the unroadworthy! I'm a fuel injected suicide machine!!!! Oh yeh, I'm lovin Oceania! Check it out

Oh yeh, I totally shredded them! I can go to bed content in the knowledge that I like, totally dominated the week ......
SR unchanged, DR down 70. Another day above... oh what's the freakin point, this is shyte.
He's the guy that divebombed me during my final N24 race in the Ford GT LM...PS4 name is blitztoo. A "B" driver. What car were you driving?
The clean race bonus itself does care about contact with other cars, you can hit loads and still get it if you stick to the track and do not hit any walls. However hitting other cars will make you lose SR, as will driving off track but the worse is quitting or dc'ing from the race, that loses you the most SR.

Well, I'd say the Hyundai is about as good as the 908 in corners and it has a slight advantage in the big straight. The thing that helps the 908 is the fuel economy.
Invisigoth - OK the fields can be bad for where your at right now I suppose. I would have raced against you by the way - PS4 name is blitztoo. A "B" driver. What car were you driving?

deathcabdaniel here. Good to see you on the forums. You are absolutely right. The only saving grace for the 908 is not having to refuel. If you can stay within 1.5 seconds if the leader it’s usually a solid win.
