In attempt to get my SR up and just trying to finish races I am now dropping in DR rapidly. I have four races now in a row where a dive bomber just ruins my race and puts me at the back of the field. I leave the corner wide open and they still manage to take me out:(

At least I'm at almost SR 99 (but almost back to DR D).

You seem to be having the same experience now that I had at Interlagos. Never had a chance last week for all the "offs". In DR D with your quali time you'll be back to C in a couple of races. As you know I was 2900 DR points when Interlagos finished. I've only done 4 or max 5 races on Gardens and I'm back to 7.5K. 5 races with 4 top 5 finishes and 1 top 6. Easy if, like you, you are a DR D with a sub 1.40 quali.

Came into DTG for some quali in the Alfa 4C and only managed a 1:37.812, when the optimum time shows a 1:37.670, which is a bit of an embarrassment, even more so when someone who is usually slower than me can actually qualify faster, so I suspect that he's using the Megane Gr.4...

Just another stroll in the gardens for me. None of those flimsy, prissy little toys like the 4C for me! I went in with both combat boots and a tank :sly:! Yes, I dare to take on a twisty turney track with that behemoth, the Veyron! It's about as subtle as a sledge hammer in the face, but I was able to better my M4 time by a second . That put me on a mixed grid of DR/A-D in P7/10

Auto drive cuts out, I'm mashing the loud pedal. Lets peel this sucker out! T1 I had to back off because I seemed to have more velocity going into the turn and everyone is a road block :odd:. Hey hey clear the way, there can be only one! That drop in my rhythm kinda put a damper on my set up for the esses and I was grabbing the tiny gears to squeeze through. I managed to keep up and bounced off the orange sausage on the entrance to the back strait. Aint no orange sausage gunna unsettle 'ol sherman :p!

I was closing in on the guy in front and managed to go round the tight left hander side by side with no contact... barely :scared:. I had a better run up to the next corner and made one of the very few clean passes I've ever made. Wickeeeed :D. For the rest of the race I managed to keep him behind me, with the gap ranging from 2s to 0.2s.

Last lap and I had surprised myself by closing right up on the two guys in front. Heading into the four right handers I was right in the bumper of P5. Just couldn't quite get the right amount of squeeze to make it one long smooth turn. The final two corners I took a bit cautious, but got a better exit than the car in front. I was gaining, but just didn't have the legs to catch up, and like me, no penalties to drop down a position. P6 for me and I was pretty relived with that.

SR blue, and hey, whatta ya know, I gained 100+ points . Day 13 on the road to Damascus, erm I mean DR/C tourism. :dopey:

I will have to try in a different car. Last race I started in 2nd but get to 1st because 1st place is sleeping. After the chicane a guy in a TT makes a move and I decide to let him go because he has more speed. For some reason he steers into me from the left causing me to go of and drop to six with a Bugatti on my rear bumper. I create a gap of one second to the Bugatti (still on the first lap) and mr. Bugatti forget to brake on the final corner taking us both out putting another rage quit to my name. I will do some offline racing for now...

Got my first ever pole position yesterday on race B. I've only been playing this game for a few weeks so i wasn't expectating that for sure. Caught me a bit off guard Must have been the excitement and everything ...on lap 2, i caught the curb on full acceleration while looking in the mirror .... Ended up spinning the car and being dead last when i finally rejoined the race. I was able to gain 2 positions back before the finish line but .... That's learning i guess.... ;)

There is a longstanding, and well documented, bug which works with lower-powered cars. By permanently applying a very small amount of brake, the car will have increased grip round corners.

Have a look at some of the faster guys' replays, and you will see their brake bar constantly flickering!
Are you sure it’s a bug? Could it not be people left foot braking?

Welcome!

I always get nervous when things are going right. Sure, I don't even need to be leading. Last night in 3rd with a 2 sec gap to 4th I started making unforced errors on the last lap. I'd rather someone be all over me so I can concentrate on the battle rather than on keeping the car in a straight line. As for 1st place, there have been times where I intentionally stayed in 2nd because I knew if I got first I'd probably crash.:D:crazy::dopey:

I am the same, find it easier to chase than be chased, then i focus on "must get line right" and watch mirrors more than road at times which just means i end up messing up my line and my times drop.

You inspired me to give the Veyron a go! I used this loads when I first started the game and had forgotten how much fun it can be. The only area that I struggled with was the chicane but everywhere else it's just as quick as anything else. Anyway, crossed the line in a somewhat close 3 way battle for 2nd!

Part 3 of situational awareness. Always keep track of them squabbles going on around you

Wait for punter and puntee to come through. Puntee was serving a penalty and blocking, hence my revenge hit detector went off.

I'm still cycling through cars, a bit more organized now, cycling through FR cars atm. @Groundfish is in the races currently, sorry if I missed your pre-race chat, I'm usually on here until auto-drive kicks in. I haven't actually seen him yet, he's starting up front, I'm still learning the cars and forgetting which one I picked by the time the race starts.

I had a bit of time to jump in just now. I enjoy driving the Honda. It’s handling is predictable and you feel you can dice. Had one nice race but the evo ahead of me in the second one was a bit faster. I actually bonked him under braking once sorry for that error.
It’s fun to go with a handling car as opposed to fr power. Totally different race. With that car I really feel I have to be much more aggressive in the corners and nail them. Errors will happen on this track and it has teeth for sure.
Anyhow that was fun. Good to see a couple familiar names.

that is pathetic

Driving standards seem to be getting worse as the week goes on in race B. Monday I had nothing but clean & good races. Yesterday, I was bashed and punted in every race. SR dropped from S down to B.

It was really bad last night, unplayable really. The hairpin is just mayhem, and after the chicane before it you have people trying to knock you off the track. The worst part is I am now racing SR A and S drivers so I assumed this **** wouldn't be happening but I am quickly learning there's only about 2% of the people playing this game that actually want to race correctly. I actually lost a ton of DR and SR last night because I finally had it and when taken out I would race back up and punt the loser who hit me in some sweet, sweet revenge.

The Megane trophy isn't quite as capable as the 4c here I don't think, but it is definitely easier to drive on the limit. I tried the Alfa yesterday and it is a bit sketchy on turn - in... Just keep doing laps in the 4c and the lap times will eventually drop.
1'37:8xx is not bad at all though 👍 I'm right around that mark with the scirroco (and even further from my opt. lol) and it gets me close enough to battle for a win on this side at least, and this track is ripe for battling.
I've seen a lot of variety on this combo too, despite the Alfa being the obvious meta here. The GTR seems to be pretty capable here in race pace, as does the Cayman and the TT.

If that was me (I was in the "Simpsons" Evo if that helps), I knew it wasn't intentional, as you backed off straight away. You can always get a sense of who the "bad ones" are, and I just didn't get that impression about you. It was just one of those very minor incidents, and I thank you for saying sorry in the post race chat. 👍👍

I'm no expert on that track by any standard, but trying to get to know it better. My style of driving (controller with Auto transmission) might of thrown you off a bit too. Either way, you had good pace... fun when someone pressures me to go faster without being overly aggressive. Thanks for the race!

Cheers

I have to agree with this. It was better yesterday. Currently I just dropped into SR.A. The past 4 races, I pass a car on the straight, they bump me at the next corner. Every race I get a penalty from a car not braking in time then losing control. There is a lot more contact today as people seem to be more confident to bump pass.

Oh well, challenge accepted. I'm currently at 13K DR, 75 SR. Which way will it go while I narrow my car selection down. MR cars next.

At least now with your DR down to B, it will be more unlikely that you'd get reset. Although, I suppose it wouldn't exactly break your heart, because you and I seem to agree on not giving a damn about DR.

I've been ploughing Race B so far this week, seven consecutive races using the GTR, which provided me with a solid quali of 1.38,7. This has me into the top 5 of the grid most times, but I'm yet to snatch the win.

Saying that, I've registered only slightly worse times using the 4C, the WRX, the Toyota and the Ferrari. They're all good.

I'm on the precipice of reaching DR A, currently sitting on my highest-ever total of 24,000 points. A lot of this I owe to my consistency on Dragon Gardens, and to an extent, the consistency of my opponents too. I've been lucky enough to only have one dirty aggressor in all my attempts.

I had thee most awful races this week, I only competed in Race C round Tsukuba, or as i like to call it Succubus the Destroyer. I've now been disqualified 3 races in a row.....for being hit to many times

Just saw the good news on the official news feed! It seems that we're transitioning back to the old regions for daily races after this upcoming update. The FIA regions will still remain the same as they are now though.
I for one am happy to hear this as the matchmaking was wayyy better before the split. Good job PD 👍

So, the new track is Special Stage Route X, a 19 mile oval. I'm imagining a funny scenario where it gets used for a weekly race and every race ends with everybody rated at D/E due to about 250 bump drafts per lap.:lol::lol:

I managed to flip over a car for the first time. It was the 500 in Maggiore, Race A.

And the car also has a custom gearbox...it looked way too fast, considering I drove one in real life. Gonna give this race a few tries and see how it goes!

To improve behavior, first remove the penalties, then split up the user base, next remove the corners  Race C, Sambabus Route X, 1 lap.

Inb4 Gr.1 @ Route X weekly race

aka keeping your R92CP at 379 km/h: the game

For real though, if they want Route X to be playable in Sport Mode they'll have to do some serious work on that penalty system :p

Also, the update is fire!

The only suitable car would be the Dodge SRT Tomahawk with a top speed of 380 mph. That's still over 3 minute lap times. The 70's Fiat 500 would take about 18 minutes per lap. Perhaps it's added as a new form of punishment. Instead of DR resets, complete x number of laps on route X in the fiat 500. Put cones all along the way to make sure you are steering. Hit one, start again.
