I actually get that. I'm not fast at either track, but I'm fast enough in parts to see the similarities. Maybe it's different for really fast guys, but on both tracks I feel like you really have to be on the edge to go fast. When your timing is right, though, it's like a complicated dance. All tracks have a rhythm that you need to find, but the rhythm at these two is faster and more complicated than most. Kind of hard to describe. All I know is that, the few times I have gone down the hill at Bathurst well, it's balancing on the edge of loosing control, but not really because it's tight....Okay, maybe I'm not making much sense, but when it's right, it's goood! That's one of the reasons I like racing online. I'm really too old to hit the track for real anymore, at least on my bike. Reflexes are degrading a bit, eyes aren't what they used to be, I won't mention the cost, but that feeling I used to get when you lay it into T1, both ends slide a bit, then hook up, and you nail the apex, back end creeping out of line a bit as you drive out... When you get it right, it's awsome. I get (almost!) that same feeling when I nail it online. The fact that the pool of players is so big, so you can see how you stack up, can be humbling, but also very cool....
I finally finished watching last years N24 last week. Bathurst 12h at night is nutz, but N24 is insane! It's funny how many of the international competitors that come to the Bathurst 12h and 6h compare it to Nurburgring.
I don't have a lot of time to race online usually, but I will get better at both of these tracks. I'm slow now, but once I get a handle on them, I think they may end up being 2 of my favorites. The bigger the challenge, the better the reward!
