Was back racing last night, thanks for the tip

No worries at all man, glad to be of help! :)

Edit: Damm man, Turismo-Lester is at it again already, on top of all 3 leaderboards on Monday morning again. He’s gotta be the fastest all around dude in NA is he? I always use his time as my benchmark for what’s humanly possible, I never reach it but he’s always at the top so it works well. I can’t wait to try the new races this week, A and C sound interesting for sure and B I’ve always done well at in the past so it could be a good week. Only 8 more hours to go until I can race.

So, group 4. Any suggestions as to what is a good car? I will have to buy one I think.

Its all sexy flavored ice cream for me at the moment :p!!

Even though the FF cars tend to be quicker I find them really dull to drive, so I favour the Huracan for this event. If you really want to mix it up, try the Veyron. It's a beast in a straight line and although heavy, is quick enough through the corners.

The insane thing about the FWD cars is that in real life, race cars get the power down faster with power in the rear wheels. Move the engine away from the front and the power gets down faster again. So PD confirms the likely requests of the motor manufacturers who mostly sell FWD cars. But how many sports cars or high performance cars are FWD? And how is that PD's famous physics engine doesn't have a front biased more powerful track car suffering from traction issues?

Only thing I can say to that is, TCR. They put the power down and handle extremely well. 350hp/1265kg. Meanwhile, the FF Gr.4 have similar power but 200-260kg less. I think that's about right, how much quicker and better handling they'd be.

Have you Veyron’d lately? It’s a big heavy beast but can really get around this place.

I managed to win the last 4 A races of the week, at Willow Springs. I got 2nd in the first race race A of the new week, with the fastest lap. :) New A race: Tuscan speed 6 at Red Bull Ring short. The first corner, you can do whatever you want. The rest of the track, strict track limits.
Race B: Gr.4 Fuji short
And race C, you'll be happy, @Sven Jurgens. Gr.1 Circuit del la Sarthe with chicanes. :):):)

Gonna go qualify for Lemans. I usually don't race this late, but I'm pretty excited for race C. I believe the chicanes will make the Nissan no longer the meta. It will probably be the hybrids.

The R18 is the meta again indeed. I get to drive the R92CP by myself again :) I did one race already, before coffee, didn't know there were chicanes or what tires, finished 6th pitting on lap 4 as I didn't know the fuel situation either. So prepared :) I'm going to see how far I get in FM2 next. No-stop attempt.

That worked, although you need about 2.5 laps in FM3 (AT). I finished second, 12 positions gained. However with neutrals SR as I got rammed from behind (and twice into a wall) by hybrids at least 6 times with SR Down as result. Good old Sarthe is back. The rammers left with a red A and red B, justice was served.

It does seem PD has fixed the final chicane a bit. You can't cut it like last time. (Although the penalty is so small and easily lost, everyone seems to be happy with a red dot at the end)

Mom get the camera, I'm #2 in EMEA! :D :D

The Huracán is awesome, it's really stable and easy to handle. It kinda has issues in a straight line though. I ran two Race Bs, started from pole in both of them and the guys behind me caught up very quickly before turn 1. They promptly shoved me wide to pass. :ouch: I finished 2nd in the first race and recovered to take my 31st win in the second one. Other than that, my results were nothing to write home about. My DR rose to 37710 and my SR fell to 83 after a short trip to SR/A :scared:

I really hope theres no more F1 tracks added to the game (excluding Spa) because: 1) Most are pretty average and
2) Tarmac run-offs make racing farcical. They exist IRL for safety which is obviously not a factor in online racing. In every other aspect of racing they are a negative.

Willow Springs works in GT because there's an extremely good incentive not to exploit track limits. Not so at Red Bull Ring.

That said about F1 tracks... have PD forgotten about Catalunya already? Why is Fuji Gr4 race B again, given that it was approx a month ago since we had the same combination? Really lazy effort from PD, not making use of the limited tracks they have to offer for sport mode.

I had a feeling the R18 would be META again. I'm gunna start the week off with the Jag. I was all set to go with 30s to go before matching when I had to exit and dash to the bathroom . I hope I get to race tonight .

Getting Fastest Laps in my races, but not a clean one. Bumps from all sides, nets me the orange arrow. It's come up almost once each lap. Ridiculous.

PD must have strengthened the GT-R. It's the all-rounder for me. Three races in the GT-R, saw me get shoved around and gain positions back. The Mustang felt so slow and the Scirocco was hopeless. Vantage wasn't all that great either.

Biggest disappointment with GTS for me is that Willow Springs is the only real North American track. It doesn’t even host any major races IRL. Trying to stay hopeful we’ll get Laguna Seca, or Daytona, or Infineon back from the earlier versions eventually, but it’s probably just wishful thinking. Why does PD hate us Americans? We seem to make up a significant portion of their players...

Too late to lay low or out run, up close we're outmanned and outgunned.... Such is the fate of those who dare to dream <sigh> . Out on the track and I qualify P5/16 on a grid full of DR/A and B with 3 Ds. I thought i was well placed. No META in this race, it was a mix, but the faster guys seemed to favour the 919 or the LM55. There were two jags and three R92s.

Race starts and I manage to get through the chicane cleanly and a bit clumsy through the esses, wide at Tertre Rouge and lost a place. After that I'm not quite sure what happened. I lost places, made up places. I was in P8 at one point. I got a 3s SR penalty for T-boning an R92 who spun out in front of me... kinda hard to avoid :banghead:. Thought I was driving cleanly and had no penalties up till then. Half a lap later and my penalties have jumped to 10s!!!. I had to pit lap 4 because I burnt fuel trying to extricate myself, and my tyres were not happy. Was running reasonably well with a 3s lead, and pulled across and slowed to burn off the penalty headed towards Porsche, and the guy behind only just passed me, then the race timed out and I finished P12 . Kinda disappointing.

Aside from the T-bone there must have been other contact I wasn't aware of. SR dropped 4, DR down another 100. Another day above DR 1 :odd:.

The R18 is rubbish, one of the other German hybrids is 10s quicker over the race distance.

Hmmmm not sure I'll be racing much this week. I am not a fan of the stupid track limits at the red bull track and i do not like fuji or gr1....

No better time then the present to learn Gr1!! That’s probably where I’ll be most of the week. I had a blast last time we had Le sarthe Gr1, it was no chicane last time though. I suck at it as well but it’s fun learning as you go. :)

Dont know why i didn't expect it but Fuji Gr4 is the usual ramming fest. Managed to qualify in pole in my Huracan and lined up behind me is the troublesome FWD learner cars. A TT, RCZ and 2 Meganes. TT rams me off on turn 1, i catch back up from 6th to 2nd in just over 1 lap. Then the 2 Meganes in turn push me off track mid corner and ram me off. Back to 5th. I get up to 3rd and then the RCZ rams me off. What is it with these FWD cars, can none of the users who choose them drive?

Brutal races this week. Road cars are almost all awful to drive in this game so race A as usual not appealing. Absolutely loathe Fuji, a seemingly apexless desert of ashphalt. i find LeSarthe too long to memorise and GRP 1 tough to handle with a controller but not seeing any other options.

I did the very first C race of the week, last night and just about everybody had forgotten how to drive that track. I took a serious beating. :ouch: I lost more SR in that one race than all of my Willow races, combined. 99 to 77.
Is it T1 again?
I did RBR once, last night and tried a bunch of different lines through turn 1. I never found one that got me a penalty. Oddly, the rest of the track is pretty strict.

T1 you can literally run so wide you scrape the wall and get away with it. It's crazy. @JayRS200 weird how you're talking about the final turn, I seem to get penalties if I go wide there.

If I remember correctly last time in The final corner as long as you clipped the inside curb at least a little on the apex you could run wide with no penalty, same with T1, I could be wrong too though too as it’s been a while.

Edit: Monday’s are so brutal reading all your guys posts about racing while I’m at work waiting for the day to end so I can try the new races. At least my wife is cool with not seeing me much on Monday’s.

It depends how early i get up on Monday's, as it is a day off for the wife. Tried some hot laps on race A and C, . I do not like the way that tvr behaves, i did actually like the gr1 with a wheel, Much easier to drive then with a ds4. I need to get used to the speed in tboses cars though.... wow

The leaderboard changed a bit, it's now R18, 919 and R92CP in the top 3 in the Americas. I have time for one lunch time race, I wonder what's in the race. This morning a no stop R18 won.
