This back hill is effin killin me here, I’ll get it!! :)

As @Oshawa-Joe alluded to earlier, small steering inputs. The fewer, the better. 👍

You are both completely correct, i keep over correcting coming our of the right hander. I’m slowly inching my way down the hill with speed, I’ll get there! :D

Edit: This is my best lap so far, and I still nearly lose it on the left hander haha.

Edit 2: I’ve had as much as 1.2s on that 2:12.1 time cresting the top of that back hill half a dozen times now only to dump it in that corner FFS. That’s it for the night, I give up, you win this round Honda, you Beat me. :D

It's a matter of perspective. You can say race A is worth a maximum of 6 points (clean race, all sectors SR up arrow). A shortcut penalty negates the SR up arrow for that sector, thus 'loses' you points, or rather you didn't earn any for that sector. Each sector is only worth a fraction of SR though. Race A is 3 laps x 4 sectors (I think), thus 0.5 SR per SR up arrow.

You can also lose the SR up arrow without a shortcut penalty as the track limits are slightly different and shortcut penalties don't always trigger. You can also get the clean race bonus with a short cut penalty. PD employs IBM's Watson to determine shortcut penalties down to the nanosecond :dunce:

Oh okay, so in other words I'm done with this game

I do all I can to run clean and fast while being courteous to other drivers. And they hammer me by using me as a brake and shoot me off into a reset while they go along their merry way. It’s frustrating.

But also a game, so I’m trying to have fun and while try to raise DR and SR (always one or the other for me, rarely both at the same time), I’m not stressing as much when the aholes drive dirty.

Not saying I don’t occasionally drive one handed and give the dirty drivers the finger (and the incomprehensible SR evaluator). Because I do. I’m just laughing as I do it now instead of yelling at it. Which I have done. Too many times.

Race C has been a education on the broken penalty system, had 3 races being my SR from S to B, getting T Boned and getting a penalty, getting the door slammed on me and picking up a penalty, random down SR arrows with no one close enough to actually touch, I ended up restarting my PS4 and relaunching, hoping it was all down to lag, managed to bring my SR back up to S and score a few victories, it’s fun being the lonely mustang competing in my lobbies and gobbling up all of those evos and hurracans. But after the restart I witnessed someone in first get T-boned by the guy in third ( I was in second ) on T1-L1 and somehow the guy in first pick up a penalty... I whispered WTF and just drove away...

I tried race C a couple of times and I have no idea what strategy to run. 1st race I chose the Subaru and did a pit stop after 4 laps. That worked ok, but a guy in a Megane Trophy no-stopped and won by a mile. I then went and did other things for a few hours and came back and tried the Megane Trophy out, and it does no stop with just short shifting, but it is very slow in a straight line and people just enjoyed hitting me (Still got 5th from starting 9th). Guys that won no stopped in a Lamborghini and in a Lexus.

Doesn't look like there is much you can do apart from fuel save with the difficult overtaking at Nurburgring GP and the long pit time.

I did 2 race C's last night and haven't figured out the strategy yet. The first race I had no idea. Went into the pits at the end of lap 5 and nearly fell asleep waiting to get to the pit box. To save time I decided to not change tyres and just take on the fuel I needed. That was a mistake as I ended up in battles with people on fresh tyres.

The second race went much better other than an epicly clumsy Dutch guy in a Huracan. He punted me off the track twice. I watched the replay and he didn't make a single overtake without making contact. It didn't look like it was on purpose, just really clumsy. I would have beaten him if I hadn't picked up my only penalty of the race by cutting the last chicane on the last lap by a couple of pixels. Finished P6 when I should have had P4. Ah well.

I used the Huracan and I'm impressed people can no stop using it. I was nowhere near making the fuel last an entire race although I wasn't doing anything to fuel save. I'll give that a go later 👍

I think you have to do some pretty heavy fuel saving in the Huaracan as I was catching the guys ahead during the last few laps, and I was only doing 2:08's in my Slophy, but all I had to do was short shift while I think they had to adjust the fuel mixture.

Don't think I will bother with this race again as it is pretty boring just fuel saving. You're not really racing, just trying to stay out of other peoples way at the start, and then it just turns into watching the gaps and wondering if anyone will catch you. Can't see how a 1 stopper will beat a no stopper.

 You typed "Slophy"(I'll collect my royalty check, thank you). ;)

Yeah, Race B is more about get racing! Race C should be mandatory pit stop and a pit window enforced.

IN the immortal words of Mork from Ork, "Shazbot!". Just got booted. Calling it a night.

First race was with the SLS. I decided to try fuel save only. The powerband is too low for this car. Has to be driven flat out. Pitted lap 6 and planted buried the trigger in the controller. The car came alive. If anyone is going to use it, just drive the damn thing!

The TT is ridiculous on fuel. I was at 10.5 laps on lap 4! Shifting in the red. Tyre wear wasn't even bad. I've been in mixed B to A+. Surprisingly, I haven't seen any C or D tonight. Anyway, wasn't the TT trademark fast, on the straights. Easy over the 9 laps.

I didn't play around in the C7. Flat out from the start. I was in a 5-way battle at the back. Everyone pushing their rides to 10/10ths. Decides to do the undercut since the other cars had red dot specials in their future. AT lap 4, I had to fill up 5 laps of fuel to get home. It took forever.
When I left pit exit, I was 12 seconds behind. ONce everyone else pit, we were all back together again. T1, a Huracan smashes into my door. Couldn't wait half a second. I wound up passing it a lap later.

Penultimate lap, I catch the dueling Megane and GT-R. As we round the last turn, my controller shuts off. Dang! Fiddled around and connected the cable. Lost 3 seconds. At the finish, their penalties brought me within 2 seconds. As mentioned at the start, got disco'd before my final race.

See how I go tomorrow in the Citroen, Dodge, Ferrari and Ford.

I've tried the Lexus and the Porsche on race B and I feel useless. I am more than a second slower than my optimal time. Anybody have good BB settings for the RSR?

Hmmmmm ngp over 9 laps is tricky. Managed a win without pitting but in my second race lost 4 places on the last lap to finish 6th.

It really depends on the car if using AT cos by the time you factor in tyre wear and fm3, its quicker to pit maybe.

I will need to keep an eye on lap times to see what makes sense.

Trying to get my sr up but just not happening, ngp is slow in, fast out, it just is, and folks go in way too hard and hit me.

This is my best track though, qualified with a 6.9 and theres more to come, I am not often below 3% of the fastest time.

Hmm...

I haven't gone racing yet this week but methinks a strategic review of my approach to race C may be in order.

I am only five seconds off the current best time which is okay but is not acceptable to my "desired time" but the fuel strategy sounds
like I will have to do some practice with the Huracan, I will see how it goes later.

Mate, they arn't coming in too hard. They have a second braking system that you don't have.... you! :p

First race for the night. Race B. I couldn't quite manage to beat my M3 time with the rexy, but my optimum was faster, just. I qualified P2/15 on an all DR/D grid. nice mix of cars... us DR/Ds tend to drive whatever we want, rather than the META. P1 was using the Supra.

Race gets going and I am mindful of P1, so naturally I get slammed from behind. I banged down gears in a flurry of trigger pulls and somehow stay off the grass... *just* :scared:. I managed to maintain position because of the mayhem behind me and stayed in P2 for the rest of the race... sort of. P3 was getting awfully close a few times, and also fell back a few times. I was right on P1's tail till the final lap, thinking "ohcrapohcrapohcrap! Don't blow this! " when I stuffed up one corner which let him get a gap and also broke my rhythm for a bit.

Then I picked up a 1.6s penalty. P3 was 2s behind me. On the start finish strait I tried to loose the penalty, but didn't manage it very well. I dropped it to 0, but in doing so P3 crossed P2 by 3/100s . SR blue, DR up 750+. I'll need those for Race C .

Really enjoying Race B this week love this track and I think it's perfect for Grp 3 cars.

Also gives me a chance to get me SR back after the hammering it took at Fuji!

So weird, I'm the complete opposite here. That vertical wall hairpin on Maggiore is like a demolition derby. I can handle 1 dive bomber, but two at the same time is just ridiculous. Add to that, I kept bumping people from behind because their exit lines were such slow unpredictable trash with people driving three wide allover the place.

It's insane how people will dive bomb on a turn just before the straight and just lose all of their speed only to then weave and freak out when you're about to pass them.

As for race A, it's hilarious just throwing that hot dog down the hallway and seeing how it reacts. In both A and B I'm nowhere near using the entire width of the course so it'll be interesting to see how it pans out this week. At least I'm back to DR B now.

I won a race last night, my first race on Race C. That's like my 9th win in 240 odd races. Was put on pole with a qualifying lap of 205.5 in the WRX in my profile pic although it wasn't particular good as I wasn't hooking up the laps very well as still consider myself a wheel newbie. Just did the one race. Led up until the pits but I wasn't doing much fuel saving and came out in 4th. Slowly worked my way through them and took first place back on the last lap. Pole position, clean race and fastest lap. Really clean and respectful race too which made it all the more a great victory. I turned it off after that and went to sleep happy lol. i recently made some adjustments to my sim set up as before I was sitting too far away from the TV and not using a proper seat. I now have a new stand, placed the correct distance from the TV and sitting in the drivers seat taken from my VW Corrado with the front propped up on a piece of 2x4. It's like night and day now, so much better!
