Race C. What a disaster! I couldn't beat my Viper time with the 'vette, so started P9/18 on a mixed grid of DR/S-D. Would be happy if I finished in that position.

Race starts with me on corner exit. Nearly lost the back end when auto drive checked out :nervous:. Off I went and managed to gain a position on T1. I was doing well for two laps, then on lap 3 on the final corner, I hit the rounded bit at the end of the Armco right at the beginning and spun. By the time I managed to get facing the right direction I'd dropped to P14. I managed to get up to P12 when I pitted, along with 3 others. I saw this as my chance to gain some positions 👍.

Stupid 🤬🤬🤬🤬 controller! I hit the X to stop fuelling and nothing happened :banghead::banghead::banghead:. I came out of the pits P17 . I spent the rest of the race bouncing off the rev limiter with every gear change . I finished P14.

SR blue. DR dropped 380. Another day above DR 1 .

Also using the 911 with BB of -2. I've managed a 1:58.1 with an optimal of a 1:57.3 but I keep messing up :irked:
Can i ask if your time is with a wheel or with a DS4? I know there is at least half a second in it for me.

No matter what i try, i either spin the honda or get a lap time thats pathetic and embarrassing. I just have no clue what to do with that car. Probably wont touch it again, hopefully and can get comfortable enough with my times to run some B races, although i am generally off pace in the race cars. I am road car kinda guy. .

Vertical hairpin :lol::lol:

I love that corner because I can brake way, way late on the very outside line and cut back and pass half the field.

That was my go to move as well. I went deep and wide as 2 cars dove for the apex and collided mid track on the exit line. So I barreled through the inside rumble strip to get a long exit from the inside to pass them. As soon as I'm in the rumble strip a third car dive bombs me from way the hell back and we all collide into a giant ghosted pile up.

I mean where did that third car think he was going? Granted, I wasn't looking that far back for a dive bomb but with that shallow of an apex cut his exit line would have thrown him off of the track if not into two cars. Just complete mindlessness sometimes.

Been doing tons of Q laps on race B and trying to improve my time. I'm now down to 1:58:519 with the 911 and 1:58:300 with the R8 but more unstable. But, for the life of me, i just can't get any lower than that ! I checked the leaderboard and i have absolutely no idea how they do it !!

I started to do laps without TCS and, although it takes a while getting used to, i think it's the only way to really get the feel of the car. Been messing up with brake bias too. Seems i'm kinda faster and more confident on braking with +1 to the rear, on the 911 anyway. Seems to be the opposite of what most are doing .... But if feels more stable to me. Trail braking feels more ... in control ... Sort of !! ;)

I'll just keep practicing for now i guess ... Lot of room for improvement !

HURACAN FOR THE WIN!!! BB -3. My current qualifying time is 1:56.4 with the Lambo (no aids as always)

Also, the Ferrari isn't too shabby there. BB -2 My fastest lap is 1:56.9 but I know it has much better in it.

FYI, as an aside, I also have a Bonanza of liveries since I have this idiosyncratic feeling that I am doing myself a disservice by using someone else's design.

1st - Stable is slow, so change that brake balance.

2nd - The most time will be gained in sector 2 and 3. You have to make sure that you get that apex on the uphill right (turn 5?) and carry a smooth line to the outside, making sure you keep arcing toward the top of the hill. At the chicane, again, the apexes are everything. You can hold fourth for the first left of that chicane, but I grab third to tighten my line. Then, short shift to fourth as I am exiting for the right turn, and then, stay tight for the left. You may have to lift a bit to keep from going to wide, but you need to stay hard on the throttle so you can accelerate all the way to the banked hairpin. At that hairpin, brake at the safety light, and again, go for that apex! At the beginning of the last sector, a lot of people go too wide on the first right. You need to stay tight and get that apex, then feather your way to the second right.

Well I guess it's going to be a Lambo combo then for me on Race B and Race C this week as that seems to be the only car I'm doing well with
in qualifying bar the 911. See how it goes in races after work in 2 hours.

I have a meeting with my realtor in a bit, but I'll be back onto race B as soon as I get home, assuming my kid actually takes a nap.

I've been watching @GumballCGT 's reference lap videos. They help me out a lot and it's much more convenient to watch these laps on youtube rather than in-game. Hopefully I can hit the 55s today, I always seem to make an error somewhere though. And I'm not sure if I'm in the right gears for some corners with the AMG.

REALTOR????? Where abouts in Ontario are you? :D If you are in Southwestern Ontario, I will do the job for you AND share GT advice :D (j/k I am not allowed to pilfer clients, that is, unless you hate your realtor :D)

Personally, I don't know how anyone goes fast with the AMG. I can't seem to get that car to be as quick as the others. It's like a jack of all trades car, that works well everywhere, but is the best nowhere. I also have TERRIBLE luck with it. Although it's a good car, I have very few wins with it.

I tried out @AllanYesu set up for shifting, L1 for up shift, R1 for down shift (while using R2 to accelerate and L2 to brake). It works pretty well, no trouble getting used to that scheme at all. However after 2 races my right thumb is already starting to burn from moving my index finger up and down. Stupid hands.

Next, see how it goes with the right analog stick for shifting. I wish there were buttons at the bottom where I have 6 more use-able fingers with nothing to do... Who designs these controllers...

I'm anxious for the day you finally get a wheel. Will it ever happen? I bet you gain some serious pace, and you're already pretty fast!

Also, @Sven Jurgens, I met you at La Sarthe the other day on my smurf account where I did a couple races from the back no qualy SvennoJ style. I won't give away the name just yet though! We had a good time working our way up, I'll just leave it at that.

:D:cheers:

Get back in that horse!! I spent over 6 hours on that Honda last night and plan to do the same again tonight(providing the wife’s ok with it lol). The only way to get better is to get at it. :)

What are the benefits of having 2 accounts?

Having the option to run races you may not be fully comfortable with without risking the DR/SR on your main account, especially if you do FIA races. :)

Or being able to switch it up from starting with a Q time up front to starting in the back in the same week/day. :)

@Pigems mostly hit the nail on the head.

For me, I had pretty much hit a plateau in my pace. I was still making small improvements here and there but that was mostly due to learning the tracks and cars better, not necessarily my skill improving. In an effort to make larger gains I decided to remedy all the things I was doing "wrong" with my driving....which was pretty much everything. I was using TCS2, right foot only, and auto-transmission. I decided to switch to no TCS and using 2 feet (still use auto T most of the time unless it's a road car). After doing so in a few races on my main account Winnie847, I was pretty much the slowest guy in the top split FIA lobbies full of aliens. Most of that is just because they are super fast and I suck in comparison, but I was faster before switching. So, to save myself some embarrassment, on top of not ruining anyone else's races due to my inconsistency, I started using my gf's PSN to build up pace and experience in the lower ranks just to see if I could eventually crawl back up to A+ and maybe even surpass my previous pace and skill level. Once I do that or get pretty close, I'll probably just switch back to my main account and only use the smurf when I want to race with no qualy.

It's extremely quick, and we are brothers in arms re the dpad.

That's good then, at least progress is being made. Might take a bit more off it tonight. D-pad for the win, for me it stems from all the way back to Gran Turismo on the PS1 from 1998, which was ridiculously sensitive. I still play it now and then though however my Ps1 is reserved mostly for good ole Colin McRae Rally.

Im loving race B this week. This track is alot of fun but gives griefers a lot of space to work their grief out, so that can suck... especially fast A/S griefers that will punt you if you pass them cleanly after being patient for laps and you slow them for even one messed up corner entry...
Anyways MR cars shine here especially after the last physics update though, which is fun.
Right away I started trying the Rs01 and am having alot of success. Before the update you were always really on a knife edge of control with this car, especially in traffic if someone tapped you a spin was almost guaranteed. Now Im able to push as hard as I can enjoy every second of it.
Got down to 156.9 and Im pretty sure I can get that down to the bottom of the 156's with enough time. Honestly though Im more looking forward to trying out other MR cars like the NSX, Fiat, 458 and the Lambo.
Race C is great since I love nurb GP but still gr4 is sooo slowwww.
Have yet to see anyone other than Svenno once on race C and it looked like you were experimenting? So that wasnt for long. I wish you could get a wheel too M8 that would be epic.
You could get one of them foldable playseats that is basically like a lawn chair and move it wherever you need!! I have the OmegaRacing wheel stand it works really well and can be folded out of the way pretty easily too.

Also Im pisssssssed PD decided to not go with the 356 on kyoto this week, that would have been so much fun pushing that car to the max.

It's very, very good over bumps. The final turn at ngp I gained half a second on folks by flying over the kerbs, when she lands you can get on the gas right away too.

Not the fastest mid corner but bumps, kerbs and exits are amazing.

I understand your respective points, but I was hoping for a more exciting answer.

I was picturing this:
I was thinking the second account would be for clandestine operations. Like when someone's in need of an attitude adjustment, and you don't want to wreck your SR.

@Pigems well i am a sucker for punishment. Went back to do a few laps before leaving for work and startd to feel more comfortable but still a mid 2.18. I can't enter races if i am that far off pace....

If you try it again, brake earlier than it seems like you should for the turns. I mean the very instant that brake light starts flashing. You'll be able to get back to the gas sooner, and carry more speed out of the turns, which is everything in low-powered cars like the Beat.

I'll try the RS on Daily B now. I always thought it was fun but like yourself it was too edgy.

I've only done a few test laps so far, generally 2 laps per car in a selection of 4 or 5 cars. Daily B I'm nearly 2 seconds slower than when we last raced Gr3 there (was 1.59.8 and now only 2.01.2 ish). Very annoying for a track I really like.

Daily C is equally annoying because my best time last night was set in a Megane Gr4. I reckon FF could be asking for trouble with tyre wear involved. Has anyone used the FF cars in races so far? Lancer is super stable but I'm nearly 2 seconds slower in it than in the Megane.
