Ahem. About that c race...It ain’t as bad as some have made it out to be. I did run across the gtr from the pen thread and yes he got into my slipstream and right about the kink had a slight run...You all know what’s coming...
I could tell what he was doing. I gave him the race line, then slowed for the left hander and let him have the spot.
It’s not worth it to me to battle a guy like that. Thank goodness I pay attention around here and kinda knew already about that car. Anyhow started 8 again which stinks because it puts you mid corner in first and it’s tough to have a good start. I was not at my best despite 15 minutes warming up, and having a maniac gtr behind you is not good for the nerves. He was not lifting and was going to contact me had I not gone into slick Willy mode.
Anyhow made one or two overtakes on the straights and was behind the main group, but closed before the pit...
Coming out it’s me and a bug in a drag race so I took inside towards Griffins and was able to pull him, but he was still alongside barely just the nose just inside my bumper so I knew I couldn’t go back to the best line, I also knew I had to hold inside. I’ve not had to go defensive there almost ever...I hit my braking fine and ran a tight line. For an unknown reason he tried to run as if I wasn’t there and bounced off me into the wall...Fine by me. I wasn’t gonna stick around and check his pulse!
Anyhow second stint I was running better trying to catch a South American in a Mcclaren, but couldn’t close with fresh rubber. I passed a car (911) up the hill into Griffins. I had a huge run and he held middle track so I did put two wheels off. I had no choice or I would have had to lift, he should have moved over but eh. That’s racing. Back into the normal line and up up and away we go, he was on my tail!
Laps 7,8, he was behind me but couldn’t pass as I ran solid times. Lap nine he’s close but just can’t get a move.
I’ve battled the 911 many times in my tank...Sure enough I lost him after Griffins and through Cutting when he lost traction. On replay no tcs!
He was a good clean driver, I had no worries about getting punted.
Lap nine I ran my best lap and had a comfortable gap comin home. Nice racing that I experienced..The room was filled with pens though.
It was quite funny when several drivers were calling out a gtr in the chat! I knew from his driving he was planning to bash...
I wish I could qualify better. My race pace is good, but these fellas must spend so much time on qual...I just cannot do it.
Anyhow good luck out there! Glad @Pigems didnt get into it with that dirty fella. I’m with Sturk, you guys are my teammates, we need to look out for each other...

Hey everyone. I have a question for you all: When it comes to trying to improve your Qualifying times for the Daily Races, how do you deal with the frustration when you feel like you've plateaued on a time, but you know you can do better?

I've been feeling like that with the C race, and it's been driving me insane haha. Send help. :banghead:

As others have said, your stale somehow.

One way is to check a race you were in, and look at the video of the winner ... also a top 10 video. Next time your practicing, don't try to be fast, just try to be consistent, getting the same times all the time, and try to really relax, which is the inverse of overdriving. Do something different too like turn the blue line on for a while, or change the guide cones to the blue blob things. If you can practice every lap at the same pace, you'll be a metronome in the race - nice and consistent, with no nerves either. After all that, when you really want the time, it'll likely come with little extra effort.

And finally, be greatful that you haven't slowed down a lot - which happens ...

guys, I need help with something. I know this is off topic but surely between the knowledge shared here, it’s worth asking.

I have a decal I cannot convert and upload. I tried, my Corel draw 2003 doesn’t work.

Can anyone assist or advise?

Here’s the decal:

The Brazilians in general tend to be weapons in any sort of online racing because they all think they're the next coming of Ayrton Senna and need to do that whole "if you no longer go for a gap" crap.

I'm on the EMEA servers and this is like 90% of all B/S drivers...

How many points do I need for driver rating A?

E = 1
D = 2 - 3,999
C = 4,000 - 9,999
B = 10,000 - 29,999
A = 30,000 - 49,999
A+ = 50,000 - 75,000(max)

You need to keep an eye on your SR as well though. A lower SR score can reset your DR to a lower level. I'm not sure how this is calculated though. Something like an SR 2 ranks lower than your DR will cause a DR reset.

Tried to put some laps in mclaren F1 at bratwurst race C. Just can't cope with the understeer in mountain top. Best lap was 2:02.9xx
How to get that beast to turn in? Mostly struggle at the top, where the sandpit is. Tried more throttle, less throttle, nothing seems to help.

Did one race with supra, at first lap dropped positions on straights and entering corners to these F1 machines. Speed difference is huge.
Started 5th ended 15th... Nice...

Did a race at Nurburgring. Fell from 3rd to 5th. Both cars occupying the width of the track, and unfortunately I had to slow down to make the turn and not wipe anyone out. Whoever was behind me also took advantage and passed me.

At the back "straight," I saw some very dirty driving from 2nd place. Not cool, my dude.
Overall, I had a good time in this race, but I wished that that one player didn't race like a jerk.

That’s what I thought per GTS Companion app.
I’m currently at 31,324 and an SR B of 58 (6 points to SR A). I’ll get that SR up to A in a race or two hopefully because I’m still at DR B for some reason. I’ve seen DR A/SR B drivers before though. I was at SR S yesterday but I’ve gotten a bunch of hits/punts on the Nordschleife from a guy who seems to not like me very much. I’m positive I’d be there already if not for that.
I really hope to see an A up there soon because that would be my first time to hit that ranking.
Thanks again!!

Edit: I’m now at A/A (DR 33,347 SR 68).
WooHoo!!

I got my arse handed to me when I switched back to my AUS account. Quali time of 2:01.5 put me anywhere from 1st to 8th and the pace was quick. Towards the end 2 players were doing it in 18:50m. F1 and an Aston. The Aston did a mid 2:01 in race conditions.

I think it’s time for a new car choice.

More nightmares for me at Bathurst last night. I really should know when to quit. I'm doing well, but it's that one mistake that kills you, and for me it's always approaching the dipper. Practically every race I was wearing the number 20 and getting up into the top 5 before it all goes tits up. Thankfully it's not harming my DR too much. One thing I am noticing is that my style of driving in the first 5 laps saves me loads of fuel, I'm coming in with 30-35% and i'm looking a others down at 15-20%. And that's just short shifting, barely any slip streaming. And that reminds me, my first race last nice was going well, until the pits where I stupidly clicked 'Do Not Refuel'. Nothing worse than leaving the pits pissed off, shaking you head in dissapointment lol.

That table is mostly correct. A bit like mostly dead ;). DR/E is a bit like virginity. Once you loose it you cannot get it back. If you drop to 1 point and you are still DR/D.

You would not be the first one to do that :scared:. My trick on my first ever race C at Bathurst quite some time ago was getting caught out by how slow you need to go to negotiate the chicane at pit entry. I hit the wall and was re-spawned on the start/finish strait. I ran our of fuel just before Hell Corner :rolleyes:. A lap of the Mountain at 80kph is.... exhilarating :crazy:.

After midnight last night I did Bathurst in the Supra. Managed to beat my qualifying time from the previous night by 2s. That put me P14/19 on a mixed grid of DR/B, C and D.

Race started ok, but then I had people sticking their nose in where there wasn't room, but pushing through any way. Lap 5 I was comming down Conrod. The car behind caught up and we were running side by side. I gave him room... and at the kink a bit too much room. On to the grass and dropped from P6 to P10. When I came out of the pits I was P14.

I finished P13, lost another 4 SR and all the DR I gained from Nurb the race before. :grumpy:

1. Make sure you can drive your plateau time consistently (if times are erratic, it's either time to get consistent or go to bed)
2. Look at some Top 10 replays
3. Pick one spot/corner to improve on
4. sometimes driving 'slower' - i.e. trying less hard - can improve your times

I love driving around Bathurst and its has been very good to me this week. 12 races, including 5 wins and 9000 Dr points gained which now puts me into A+. I have stayed away from the McLaren F1 and used my goto the AMG '16. Usual story faster across the mountain but lose out on the straights. Fuel saving has helped me out alot so far.

Ah yes, I've actually been juggling between pitting at laps 4, 5 or 6 depending on what the traffic is like behind me so to not get punted under breaking. I ran out of fuel after my missed fuel stop even after pitting on next lap, pushing to hard at the end to try and not be last. I was last!!

The disconnect issue has not been fixed.

I can't recall any people instantly leaving the lobby in any of my games since the update. Did it kick you back to the Sports Mode menu with a disconnect message or without? I used to have the same problem and went into a habit of restarting the game after every race but since the recent update, I haven't had to.

Anybody have any tips on refueling? I can't seem to get it right. I come in at the end of lap 5 in race with 2 laps of fuel left. My strategy is to fuel save in the beginning of the race and then go all out after my pitstop. I have done this four times already I I usually gain 3 seconds on my main rivals this way. The problem is that no matter how much fuel I put in for the second stint, I end up needing to save fuel. I put in 4 laps of fuel and had to go really slow on the final lap and ran out of fuel 100 meters before the finish line. I put in 4.5 and still had to save fuel on the final lap. Adding 5 laps fuel finally helped me make the finish. What am I doing wrong to need 5 laps of fuel for 4 laps of racing?

The number of laps you have remaining on your current fuel is calculated from your current fuel use rate.

If you put "four laps" of fuel in, that's four laps at fuel-saving rate, not at balls-to-the-wall rate.

Yeah, its frustrating when your fastest lap has several "mediocre" segment times and you know if you could just put them all together you'd have a really "Hot Lap"!! If I'm in front of ghost on segments 1 and 2 I seem to drive differently finishing the lap (trying not to make a big mistake) and typically give up a lot of time. Sometimes its helpful for me to turn the ghost off and try to avoid looking at the segment times....but of course a few drinks seems to ease the insanity....:crazy:

Your SR letter needs to match your next DR letter to level up, however now you are A/A you can drop to A/C. However if your SR drops below 15, then you will get reset to 20K DR, B/C. And as soon as you did get promoted you got the 1,500 level up bonus.

From my memory, there was a Bathurst Race C where I used the Z4 against @Hoof Arted in a GTI where @RSBDG1 became my buffer before he got kicked out during matchmaking. He could've given the GTI enough hard time for me to pull away and negate the GTI's fuel saving abilities with a gap too big to gain in the pits.

Oh and don't know that @Bruunz had an AU account until now...

That makes sense, thanks:tup:
