With a time of 2.04 at not being enough for a good grid position in race C, the game sadly only gives me 2 choices. Gain DR and lose SR of gain SR and lose DR. I dropped from SR 99 to 51...

The number of laps you have remaining on your current fuel is calculated from your current fuel use rate.

If you put "four laps" of fuel in, that's four laps at fuel-saving rate, not at balls-to-the-wall rate.
Nice racing with you this evening, although it looked as if you had a messy one!

I was racing for podiums this afternoon at Bathurst - tonight I was battling for 18th place....

Sit back and fuel save - i only pass in three corners.
1) mountain straight into Griffins bend if you have the inside
2) conrod straight into the chase
3) murrays corners

The over-cut strategy is working well for me if I'm stuck behind someone who isn't as quick. Stay out and have a clean lap to yourself then pit at the end of lap 6. Tyre wear should be a non issue.

Every time i have conserved enough for another lap i have gained 3 ~4 seconds. One race i went from 8th to 3rd.

Thanks. You using the ds4 or wheel. I am definitely entering the stage of being noticeably faster with the wheel than i was with ds4. I also watched @Pigems and @Mistah_MCA laps a lot....

I also swiched my setting mid week from 2-4 to 1-5. I feel like it helped me go faster. More the torque setting. After i changed it i noticed that the amount of resistance the farther i turned the wheel was slowing me down. I don't know how else to explain it. But the resistance is the same all the way now where as it used to get really stiff at near to full lock. I actually prefer a heavy wheel irl, but it seems to have been slowing me down in game....

Any of you guys get under 8:20 at Nurburgring with automatic transmission? I'm wondering how bad I really am at that track. :(

Edit: Finally got it down to 8:17. *Best lap was with -3 BB.
I'm gonna have to give this a try. I'll update later with the results.

E- 8:08.685, with BB at -2. Definitely doable with AT. :) I feel like you can really push this car, as it feels very forgiving and smooth.

Oh tell me about it. It's like the guys from 13th and down realised they weren't going to place well and just set out to be cocks. The guy in the white McLaren F1 just battered everyone on Conrod, and I got a 2s penalty for being T-boned by the GT-R when he dropped it at the last corner and punted me into the pit wall a lap after literally smashing me off the same corner.

Were you on hards?

Using DS4. But switched from D-pad to left stick for steering. That's helped. Also I learned a bunch of places I was braking that I didn't need to, by watching @suprajef's replay. Thanks, Pokey.
I'm about 5 seconds faster than I was yesterday, but that's probably just due to the new paint job.

... ...Which means that any fast drivers in the 80-89 range will be at the top of that room. Hence I call it the sweet spot for fast drivers ...

OK, hmm, its tempting to go back, except for Australia's new downgrade from PD, which came with the new software, Australians are now only allowed to race with a maximum of three yellow bars.

I got corrected from 99 to 84 or 85. Why? Racing the Japanese on Saturday morning ... its 5 am in Japan but they have been playing all night I think. When Mum and Dad get up though, they'll have to stop, get in bed, and pretend to have been asleep all night. IMO ...

But anyway, I started with the highest quality net connection of the week - 3 yellow bars. Wow. I'm two seconds in front at Nord race B, and the track moves beneath my horrible car ... I'm then sideways at speed clicking the armco I loose most of the lead. Along comes #2 going clean and faster, he sails buy, I wave and think good on you, my net's fault??? Then the left turn coming up - uh uh - for the first time I run wide there ... and so it went on. At the end of the race, my net connection was bright orange and one bar and another half bar it seemed.

Since the upgrade, Australians cannot get more than three yellow bars. Its an utter disgrace. I'm going to give it up I reckon.

That is kind of my strategy. The problem is that I run into many slow driver in the mountain section (even with fuel saving) and me being the nice guy that I am will wait for an overtaking opportunity like in one of your 3 points. Problem is that the drivers behind me don't agree with being nice and ram me in the wall every time causing me to drop to last. It really is frustrating..

I just made it through an entire lap on the Nordschleife in 8:13 without any cones or blue markers, and without going off the road more than 2 tires. I’m pretty damm proud of that. :)

And you got 8:10? Pretty damn good, I'd say. At least now I know the transmission isn't my problem.
Thank you

Auto is probably not bad in this case, you can stay in the higher gear through a lot of the track so if done right, auto should in theory be pretty efficient.

Might not see you out there, today. I'm at 83 SR. But, it wasn't until my 7th race of the day that I had to say I'm sorry at the end. It might be a new personal best.

Anyone else notice how you can burn penalties on Race B (Nurb) final turn* before the long back straight in qualifying but not during the race?

In practice even if not trying to burn the penalty it disappears. In the race even if you slow right down the penalty won't decrease.

Not a complaint. I don't get penalties often. Just find it weird.

I just had my first race for the week(end) on the mountain. Started P10, finished P6. Not really great, but not complete 🤬 either. It was a race without ramming and punting:confused: I got 2 Sr down arrows though. First, the rear gets loose through the Quarry, I swerve and and the guy behind me (another Swede), coming through a blind corner, hits me.
The second was almost the reverse. The other Swede has gone past me, and somehow managed to get a penalty. We both went for the pits, but he slows down on pitentry to scrub off the penalty. His car is ghosted, so I thought I’d gain a spot. But noooo. His ghosted car isn’t really ghosted for some reason. I get the loss of speed and the sound of me hitting him, but I also go through him and get slapped with Sr down

And after the race, when I was trying the R8, I got a weird glitch/bug. I haven’t seen it before. Is it something new?
Ignore the eyesore that is the livery. I did it look horrible intentionally.

I had my race time down to 8:34.6 on the Nord. That was with drafting starting from second. I lost him in the second half, he finished with 8:32. My solo out front fastest time is still 8:37, I haven't had any pole positions anymore.

There were some clown out today, this one wins the award

I guess he was not happy with his 4 second penalty for bump passing me earlier and not being able to put enough distance on me after. So I guess he asked for more penalties. His big show starts at 1:14 where I decide to give him a tap instead of letting him bump me off again. He quit during the race end countdown and dropped to 65 SR. Can't race clean, go to SR.B.

And watch out for the winner of that race, he gets dirty when he gets passed.

Thanks. I'll be looking out for him. I love it when you guys give me this bounty hunter's list. 👍

Wow, what an idiot. You have much more patience than I do, I’d have “helped” him find a nice safe spot off the track somewhere where he couldn’t bother anyone.

Damn you are good. Wish I had that much control.

I've been in races with you before. But I never see you.

First race of the night was a good clean run around the ring. Started 4 and we started to gap 5th once we got through the first section. Got into 3 when he made a mistake in the last section before the loooong straight. Someone in there knew me so i think i know "someone's" second account name now lol

@sturk0167 yup. Thought so lol

Has anyone tried the Ford GT on Bathurst? I qualified and got my fastest time with it but I'm somewhat reluctant to race it since I've no idea how it handles tyre wear. I also don't think I've seen a single Test Car (assume the McLaren is favoured over it) in the lobbies I've raced in this week.

@sturk0167 Apreciate it man, but it was my dog lol i tried to get far enough over as to not come back onto the road but it did not workout and i was the idiot that caused a cluster schmuck at the start. I felt like a jerk, i almost quit the race after that...

Edit. Next race was another good one. This car takes forever to stop in dirty air though, i bumped the same guy a few times. He seemed to understand though. They were gentle enough that it never pushed him off, just "love" taps lol

I had issues at the back. First time today that I had to use the letters f and u in the post race. He hit me about 10 times, and I hit him once, but I made it count. :D Hope he's in the next race. Yes, I'm vengeful, in case you haven't noticed.
