I had a couple of nice Race A's last night, its a strange situation being DR C but SR S, it means I am in rooms with DR A's and B's, so pretty much consigned to not winning unless there is a massive squabble up front. I didn't qualify and decided to learn the track by starting from last and finished 5th in race 1. Second race I decided to qualify and despite it being a hideous 1.56.0 wit mistakes in every turn, I started 4th finished 3rd.

The thing that struck me though was how clean everything was, I only had one moment where someone tried to take me out, but my pass on him (into the sharp left after the long right hander) was just so perfect I dont blame him for being angry !

Will pay for it tonight I reckon.

Well everybody knows that with this nervous car and Fujis ice-like run off areas even the slightest bump (deliberate or indeliberate) will send both cars tumbling away straight to Tokyo bay.

So I tried the Gr4 race today.
I used the corvette because I like its sound. As predicted, I got pushed out of the track by a russian and droped from 3rd to 8. Got back up to 5th, and a south african with 2/3 bars that was jumping from grass to right to left of the track hit me (probably not his fault though since his connexion was crap). Back to 8th. Managed to finish 6th, with a SR down from like ten points.

Weirdly, next race was perfectly clean, I did not pass anyone but an afk, and nobody passed me. I got my SR back to 72, where it has been blocked for several days.

I will try the huaracan tonight, I am 1.5s faster with it than with the corvette. It seems many people are using the megane, the 4C and the huaracan.

@lewis f1fan My best is 2.11 at the moment, but most of the DrB had 2.09 in the races I did yesterday.

here is where you can check your ranking

I didn’t want to create a new thread for this simple question...

Does my DR improve when I do open lobby races? I haven’t really noticed, but I’m not sure.

No, sport mode and FIA races only.

Nope. DR and SR are exclusive to sports mode. Hower all other ratings (Miles, XP etc.) will improve.

First of all, I'd like to say hi.
Bought myself a PS4 Pro about 3 months ago and jumped right into GTS Sports mode.
(Have been playing online games all my life, as a good Korean should, first racing game after Mario Kart, if it even counts)
Bad idea..... after I'd say roughly a week or two of 'making myself look bad' in sports mode, I took the time to finish the campaign stuff.
(Nordschleife CE was the only one that took more than a day... it took several)
Went back to the daily races and something kind of clicked for me.
Won 2 daily A races last week w/o 'making myself look bad'.

Tonight raced a few A's at Fuji, got myself to SR S, and from what I can tell... the races do feel a lot cleaner.

Most importantly, I'm having fun playing this game.

Did you race at the back / stay in he pit to get to SR.S ? in 22 races, I think I only got 2 races without anyone pushing me. I'm thinking about wasting some DR to move from SR.A to SR.S but I'm not the kind of person that willingly stays at the back of the pack or in the pit lane...

No... not at all...
I tried to finish as high as possible.. in the 'not making myself look bad' mode.
I kind of learned/figured out that if I was faster than the driver in front of me.. I would be in front at the end...
(I don't know if you play League of Legends.. but very similar... Let the dude do what he wants in the 'laning stage' but I know I can get back at him at the end)

Welcome to the world of Sport Mode!

This thread is where you, me, and others post their Daily Race reports. There's also the FIA Race Discussion thread if you want to report on an FIA race. Most well-known aliens (fastest players of GT Sport in this case) hang out in that thread, usually either from a text-based race report (and sometimes alongside a pre-recorded video) to a place to notify people of their livestreams!

Once you've gotten to the 90-99 SR point threshold, you might find yourself having intense but fair battles!

Even though Asia/Oceania is the cleanest region out of all three in Daily Races, you may still find some angry dude who's just there to make your life miserable, unlike in EMEA and The Americas where it's a bit fuzzy over there with complaints about Spaniards, Frenchmen, Latin Americans, etc. But then again, dirty drivers are not restricted to one nation, everyone can be a dirty driver...

I found that I went from SR C to SR S in about 4 races in the Z8 at BB Raceway last Sunday and that was actually racing for position, I got back to back cleans and then a dodgy race, then another clean and I was suddenly S, I find Race A easier to stay clean because its usually slower.

Any advice on car choice for suzuka ? Thanks in advance

I always feel it's better to try out cars yourself and use whichever you're most comfortable and/or fastest using since most people are different to one another and have different driving styles. It's rare I use "meta" cars unless I really like to drive the car and in other cases, I may be faster with other cars anyway. Maybe stick with the Italia for a few races since I believe your time is very good or as suggested earlier, one of the FF cars which usually perform well at Suzuka.

Hey, welcome! You're off to a pretty good start, winning two races and reaching SR/S :) If you want to try out races other than A, which is usually one-make with a provided car, you'll have to get a good car from each race car category. I'll list some of the better cars in each group and you can choose the one that fits you. If you've completed the Driving School + Circuit Experience events, you'll have driven most of the Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars and you'll also have quite a bit of money.

Gr.4 (350000 credits): Porsche Cayman, Lambo Huracán, Alfa 4C, Renault Megane, Audi TT
Gr.3 (450000 credits): Porsche 911, Lambo Huracán, Audi R8, McLaren F1 GTR, GR Supra Racing Concept, AMG GT3, Lexus RC F are on the faster end. Gr.3 is pretty balanced though, so you can be more flexible.
Gr.2 (800000 credits): I used to think the 2016 Motul Autech GT-R was the undisputed best car in Gr.2, but I've heard the NSX is better around Autopolis (?). I'd still get the GT-R if I was on a budget.
Gr.1 (1 million credits): Gr.1 is made up of many different cars spanning about 30 years, so I suggest you wait until this category comes around in the daily races before buying one of those.

You can look yourself up on KudosPrime or download the GTS Companion app to check your stats. Good luck! :)

Bit disappointing in my choice of cars today. I was hoping to start with"Today was Mopar or no car" but I just could not get one of my old favourites, the Viper, to turn in. It was like trying to drive an FF. I then tried the 'vette, fake6, beemer, evo .. I just could not get comfortable with any of them :irked:. Finally I took the cat for a walk and found that I felt like I could at least manage 4 laps without embarrassing myself .....much:p. I was able to beat my 626 time, but kept screwing up at critical moments, so I had 2 qualy laps with the potential for another 2s that I blew. The upshot, I qualified P14/16 instead of P5. P15/16 hadn't set qualifying times. I was one of 4 DR/Ds the rest were Cs.

Auto drive goes off to find a tavern just before the chicane, so I have to negotiate the chicane with a car that handles nothing like it did during qualifying, with Heckle and Jeckle right up my arse :nervous:. I somehow avoided being knocked off, but when I got to T1, the differnce between qualifying and racing bit me and I had to grab the tiny gears and Flintstone the brakes to keep out of the kitty litter. So down to P16 with 3s to catch up:banghead:. So it's @Sven Jurgens time. Newsflash..... I AINT SVEN :dunce:!!!!!! As usual my bag of talent has a hole in it, but I just did my laps and tried to keep on the black stuff and away from that thrice cursed astro turf that the track keepers of Suzuka seem so fond of . I made up a few places, then was hit at the hairpin. I saw two blue triangles on the radar. They dropped back when I got going again. I may be wrong, but I think the guy that hit me may have waited for me 👍.

Off I set and found myself in P8. bottled one of the corners .. possibly Spoon. I finished P10. Was nearly P9. I got a better exit out of spoon and was side by side on the inside, but the other driver would not yield. I dropped a gear to be safe for the corner at the end. They went wide, but had enough momentum to stay in front at the chicane .

SR back up to 99, lost almost all the DR I gained yesterday. Another day above DR 1 .

@Invisigoth What brake balance were you using for the Viper? I had it set at 3, and for the first time in a long time I actually felt like I had a good balanced car at Suzuka. Sure, it doesn’t have the turn in the first sector that an MR car has but it holds its own.

I can’t idly stand by while someone passes on the Viper. :p I made the same mistake myself for a few months but the most recent physics update brought it back to life, in my opinion.

I took a week off from Sport Mode. I was gonna do the same for this week bit since I didn’t do Suzuka Gr4 since June 2018, I decided to give it a go.

First 4 races I started from the back to feel it. I managed to finish 3-5 places ahead.

I qualified and siting at 2:12 with the Huracan. I raced one more at P2 and kept it the whole race. P3 quaified a second slower but managed to get P1 quickly.

Also, is the grid glitch back? Some races, half the grid stopped and fell behind at the start.

Seriously? I hope not. There was a patch update just last night. Maybe re-start just to be safe.

It happened to me in a lobby race last night too, hopefully it’s not back for good.

I have the opposite experience to you. I used to love the Viper. Both Gr4 and Gr3 it was often my go to car. Then suddenly it stopped handling the way I liked and it never quite got back. I always have neutral or negative BB. Positive BB on any car just has me ending up sideways with the rear end locked up. In the past I always did better with the Viper than the Corvette, now things have reversed. I tried different TC settings to see if I could encourage the back end to rotate. No luck. I've seen a few posts from people saying the cars are handling better since the updates. I am finding them harder to turn .

I have been following you guys for a long while now. Good stories and learning experiences on how to be a good driver.

I don't have much time for the dailies/weeklies but love the challenge and unpredictable tendencies of real people.

Did two races with the Supra and the car was enjoyable. Started 3rd and finished the same with a clean race and then started 5th and finished 3rd with a second clean race. Some aggressive driving by others on passes in each race but they also took themselves out in the next 1-3 corners after passing. No biggie and fun to take the position back because of there own mistakes. (I learned that from you guys).

A little disappointed that my DR only went up 1,100 points from 1,746 to 1,851 with those two clean top 3 finishes. My SR is 99.

Good luck in you races today everyone.

Judging from the daily races over the last few weeks I think the Huracan has been BOPed to handle too well. About a month ago the Huracan was much heavier to steer and brake.

I predict it could win the FIA Manu Cup handily the way things are. Of course tires and gas also factor. So I could be wrong overall.

I think I've seen the Huracan in the top 10 in all the recent dailies. Like on race B this week the Huracan is just as fast as the 4C on Suzuka. No matter what track the Huracan seems to be near the top regardless of if it's a speed track or technical one.

This could be another post i should have put in the "unpopular opinions" thread.

Group 4 hasn't had a BOP adjustment for a while. Certainly not this year. Unless of course it went unannounced, which is possible!

I agree it's a very nice car to drive and very easy to throw around a track. I've seriously considered moving from Ford to Lamborghini for the next FIA season but have held off because of the Gr.3 car. I've not driven that for a while but found it very difficult to keep in a straight line. I haven't driven it since before the physics update that I understand improved the situation so maybe time to give it another go.

I haven't got around to Suzuka yet this week but when I do I'm sure I'll be jumping into my trusty Huracan for it :)

Hey thanks for fast response. May i add does brake balace matter, as there is no tyre wear. Any advice would be much appreciated thanks

Just did a race A, started 9th with no qually, finished 1st. I’ll never start a fight, but I have absolutely no problem finishing one. There was absolutely no need of him doing this, and it was no accident by any means, I even slowed down to avoid him being near my rear wheel knowing what he was gonna do after the first one and he still tried it again. Oh well, he got what he deserved.

LOL nice. I don't know how you guys race those slow, lifeless street car dailies; I think I would rather scrub my face with a cheese grater. I try not to race anything but Gr4, 3, 2. If it feels too slow, I can't do it... also why I don't like non-flowing tracks. I hate Suzuka

I came up with a new wish list item for future game updates, while doing laps in the Supra at Fuji, this morning. I think most of you, like me, who are not expert drivers will understand this. Regarding rear-wheel drive cars, TCS 1 doesn't really seem to help much, and TCS 2 is really restrictive. There seems to be a huge gap between the two. I think I'd like to have TCS 1.5. 👍

I tried the supra more this morning, and all i can say is meh. The car requires an unpleasant amount of throttle control and i have never enjoyed the track. Did one race, started 5 watched everyone drift around for four laps and finished 5. Then tried a few laps for race B, waaayyyy off the pace there. Might try again later in the week....
