I always feel it's better to try out cars yourself and use whichever you're most comfortable and/or fastest using since most people are different to one another and have different driving styles. It's rare I use "meta" cars unless I really like to drive the car and in other cases, I may be faster with other cars anyway. Maybe stick with the Italia for a few races since I believe your time is very good or as suggested earlier, one of the FF cars which usually perform well at Suzuka.

Hey thanks for fast response. May i add does brake balace matter, as there is no tyre wear. Any advice would be much appreciated thanks

I came up with a new wish list item for future game updates, while doing laps in the Supra at Fuji, this morning. I think most of you, like me, who are not expert drivers will understand this. Regarding rear-wheel drive cars, TCS 1 doesn't really seem to help much, and TCS 2 is really restrictive. There seems to be a huge gap between the two. I think I'd like to have TCS 1.5. 👍

I’m using no TCS and -1 brake balance. The throttle helps it turn.

Super stoked.
Can not race more today.

And I see that you posted a pretty nice time. 👍 On Thursday, when I have more time, I'm gonna try it with my wheel and pedals. Of course, when I use pedals, I won't be needing to use TCS 2. When I use the controller, I have to have some TCS. Same thing with any RWD car faster than Gr.4.

I just upgraded(size wise) my monitor thanks to my wife claiming our unused living room tv for her TV room lol. I got the 40” screen that she was using to replace my 32”, so 8 extra inches without spending any money. :D

Is it better to keep tv that close? I have read little about FOV, but still have the tv front of my pedals. I need better tv thou, if I want to have it like you do.

Well it all depends on the size of the monitor your using, some games allow you to adjust FOV, but GTS doesn’t unfortunately, so the optimal distance to screen will depend on the size of your monitor(there is an online calculator for figuring it out). I was 28” from a 32” monitor before which still wasn’t optimal, I should have been at 20” or 22”, I can’t remember which it was now. I haven’t used the calculator to figure out where this setup stands yet but this should be closer to optimal setup then I had before, I think lol. Either way I like it better. :)

Edit: Here is a link to the calculator I used, I don’t know how accurate it is though. It says FOV should be 60 for this setup and I think GTS is 55 or something like that so I’m much closer than I was before to being optimized now.

The Supra's extremely loose, which is fine until Fuji's run off decides its ice and spins it around. Ill never understand why PD's physics make it that way, its the same with their stand still start launches.
I tried taking off after going off track and could not get over 25mph due to wheel spin. In any gear. I tried taking off in 6th and it just spun the wheels forever. On the concrete. Had it happen once before awhile ago. Had to quit the race which I have only done twice now.

I'm not an expert on this subject but It depends on the car (some are fine without adjusting BB, I find) but it does make a difference in most cases. For Suzuka, I've been qualifying in the Lancer Evo with a -4 BB which I've felt is just right for me with little oversteer. It's a personal preference so I think it's best to adjust it in increments on the fly and see how you feel braking is.

There comes a time, in 05XR8's life, where he's just got to give it up.
My two-stop RM strategy hurt more than helped. I did start and finish 4th, but running that extra lap, before my second stop, took me out the running for the lead.

When the leader exited pit lane, I took the lead on 2 lap older tyres. Had a 3 second gap that dwindled to .2 seconds by the end of the lap. As we sped down the front straight, it looked like I was going to be overtaken. So, I stayed hard left and signaled. Player stayed behind.
We get to T2 and I gave up the position. 3rd place was a further 6 seconds back and I was slipping behind 1st, but not too bad as the leader was conserving tyres. My fronts were gone by the last section of the track and I went too deep at the bottom right hander. Rolled on the kitty litter and was now 10 seconds behind at my final pit.

Exited pits in 4th and finished 26 seconds behind the leader. Guess I'll be trying the one-stop RH to RM or no stop RH.

Hey guys was wondering if 2.10s race b in a 458 itialia is quick. Any advice on car choice for suzuka ? Thanks in advance
Good time! The 458 can be a handful with oversteer, but I may have to try it out. I tried the Alfa, the Aston, the Lambo, the Viper and the Benz last night. I feel like the 4C will give the fastest laps, but it can be tough in a race unless you can get away. It doesn't have the top speed, so it can be hard to pass with it. Conversely, people can pass you on the straight, then they kill your corner speed, and your advantage. Most of my passing at Suzuka if I'm in the 4C is in the esses and heading towards Degner. If someone gets a bit wide, I can sneak inside and make the pass. The Lambo, and maybe the 458, may be better in the race, though I love driving the 4c. To tell the truth, other than the Alfa, I think most of the cars are pretty close here. Once I got a handle on the car, I was lapping within .5 seconds on all of them. My best (4c) lap so far is an 11.3, but I did high 11's in both the Aston and the Lambo, with low 12's from everything else. I did less than 10 laps per car, so LOTS of room for improvement. I think last time we had this combo I got into the 2:09's with the Alfa.

Three races today, two A, one B — what an ugly mess!

Race A No. 1: Started 5th, 1st and 2nd somehow managed to get into an argument shortly after the green flag and catapulted into the pit wall. I was 2nd when we approached T1 but then I got slightly touched by the 3rd who then got banged by the 59th...well, I saw a red something running into the Turn from waayyy back of the field. I was then back at 5th. In the chicane bypass I got punted again, left the track and was then 10th when crossing the line to start Lap 2. I managed to pass all these hotblooded drivers engaging in countless jostles and finally finished 5th.

Race 2 was similar, I just didn‘t get carried as far back as in race 1. But countless bumps, pushes, shoved made my blood boil... and I already suffer from high blood pressure!

I then switched to Susucka and chose my trusty Scirocco. I did a few Q-Laps and was mildly dissapointed. PD must have done something to that car, it turns like a brick! Turn too slow you lose lots of Momentum, turn under load and it will move nearly straight, not caring of how much you turned the steering wheel. Anyway, the race was clean and I passed some drivers who left the track. I started 9th and finished 6th.

So, I gained 800 DR today but my SR went from 99 to 90. I didn‘t push it that hard.

Yesterday at Suzuka I started 3rd, kind of felt the car behind me was going to be trouble. I picked up penalties trying to stay in front, crossed the line 2nd but finished 4th due to penalties.

Today I decided to let any car go through, started 2nd, 2 cars behind were close. Nothing dirty about them but they were pushing. I let one of those cars through and a few turns later I got a better line and passed easily. That car slowed another car down and I regained 2nd but with a 4 second lead. It was clear the rest of the way. I almost caught 1st but didn't push it.

Anyways point is, for me it's always better to let the other car go ahead. I just need to remember that when the pressure is on.

I tried the Jaguar, Lancer and WRX on Suzuka and I think I prefer the WRX more so I decided to race it. I haven't refined my qualifying time as much as I'd like so I started P5 (surprising) with a 2:10:2. During lap 2, I witnessed a cat fight between P3 - 4 with me right behind so I decided to back-off accordingly to see if they both took each other out. It lasted from Spoon and right before Casino, P4 pushed P3 aside and was granted a 3 second penalty. I decided to cautiously stay behind him and fortunately, he span out along Degner. I ended P3. I'll likely try out the 4C next.

Having Suzuka every week at least makes for very competitive races - each race I see finishes with 4-5 car packs with below a second margins and fairly clean driving.
But having 50 shades of Japan every week is getting pretty annoying now.

I tried to do a race B, started 3rd, the clown behind me dives in on T1, I saw him coming and avoided his nonsense. He later goes off the track around spoon and by lap 4 had caught back up, punted me when I braked for spoon, he didn’t even hit his brakes. Then he takes off right after the race and his account can’t receive messages ffs. I couldn’t even figure out how to report him before the race menu ended, grrr, finished 4th behind the clown.

Had a similar issue back in January during the Tokyo South Race B in Gr.3 cars where I in the Peugeot VGT had some sweet time battling with a Vette when all the sudden a clown in a Ford GT that constantly flashes his headlights throughout the entire race ruined both mine and the Vette driver's races on the final lap coming to the chicane for the final time. I tried to back off as it was a single file corner but the clown presumably killed the Vette and me and won the race that I should've won easily after starting on pole.

That’s sucks man, I hate when people get like that. I even tried to stay way outside so he couldn’t dive on me and when he realized he didn’t have a car to bank off of in the corner he just punted me instead. I’ll remember that name though.

I feel your frustration. Had a few exchanges with the TT's and they were a nuisance to battle with in the Alfa. If they get a draft on any long stretch then they got you and once you're behind one its impossible to get back around. They also brake into spoon instead of before it which seemed to be a factor in your incident lol...
I also got taken out on the final chicane on two seperate occasions by oblivious drivers rejoining the track which was fun!

That’s always fun too eh!! Guy decides to jump back on with incoming traffic lol. Oh well, it is what it I guess, at least we’ve got something to play and kill time with. :)

On the plus side I ended up beating my Supra time by 3 tenths after that, so thanks to that guy for being a Richard and convincing me not to do any more races tonight. :)

That's funny. When I started your clip, I thought it was gonna be the guy in 5th. He was the only guy I had to put a bumper to in all of my Nordschliefe races, last week.

I don’t think I can make the Lambo go much faster around Suzuka, I got another 3 tenths off it to 10.6, I’m gonna switch over to the 4C now and give that another try.

@KONTRAone Great Lap!! Man, you really rip that 4C around there. Congrats on the awesome time. :)

It was a nice race up until that point, even the guy that punted me wasn’t bad other than the T1 thing. Oh well. :)

Edit: So the 4C and Scirocco both maxed out at 10.6 too, hmmm, clearly I’m doing something wrong here.

I've noticed that as well. The lobbies I was in today also had qualifying times which were 1.5 seconds at most apart from 1st through to 16th. Kind of crazy.
