Swift race is fun. Kind of wish the system wasn’t projecting me to finish so high and yet starting me in the lower half of the grid. It’s harder to move up the grid in cars that are slower and easier to control since there aren’t too many wrecks.

Gonna try Cayman GT4 and try to get in DR B...

UPDATE:

Matched only with B S, I was only C S!

Made it to 3rd and promoted to DR B!

Lot of mistakes in top 4, but clean...

I lost my chances to win in 3rd lap while avoiding two cars in front and finishing on grass.

Not bad. Finished 9th. 2 spot improvement, though could’ve finished 7th if I didn’t **** up a turn in Lap 4. I don’t have the mental stamina for this sometimes.

Blue moon reverse!? Why is this even a thing? Why is this track even in the daily rotation, while the Nordschleife is never to be seen? :grumpy:
And who actually cares for the one makes? I tried the Lancer one yesterday, even this promise looking one was boring...
And now another 3 days of Swift "racing"? No thanks...

Thats how you loose your players PD! Just bore them to death....worked for Bungie with Destiny too :ouch:
One slow car. One faster car. One gr 3/4. What is so strange about this ? Most people just want this. And finally some ovals people were wishing for (not me). Pretty mixed up actually and thus perfect. Even if you dont like it.

I think, in isolation, there's nothing really wrong with it, but it has felt like it's been a week of slow One Makes & pad-friendly cars, ovals and Tokyo Expressway - not enough race cars & proper circuits, perhaps?

Personally, I struggle to get excited about turning up for an oval race, a Tokyo expressway race, or a slow, boring, road car One-Make - and it sounds like I'm not the only one - that's all.

Of course, each to their own :)
I've generally found there to always be at least one race out of the three that has taken my fancy, and if not, meh.

People only driving racing cars with RSS is like FPS players only using assault rifles.
One made road car races can be fair and fun and add variety.
Not interested in todays dailes?Focus on the FIA races or go to lobby if they are so boring.

I’ve got a video replay lined up, the bloody Spanish again!
I got this with Spanish and British drivers. If they are lined up before or behind me I know it may be a hard and dirty race. Maybe it is something in the food :p

Oh boy, can someone please tell me what they like about the gr4...

Tried the B race today, after a few laps qualifying and race my finger hurt as you are constantly on the gas.

The car is on rail (ABS only) and the gearbox only worsens the situation (besides the gearbox most gr4s behave like this).

Again road cars above n300-400 on sport are much more interesting as they move around and require actual control but of course we only get an oval and a swift/TT.

Gr4 is more than easy enough for new players to learn.
A race is a waste of space in sport mode at the moment in my opinion.

No comment on ovals, there is really no common touch here, who are they targeted to?

Well, I agree with you that people running RSS in lobbies with no tyre wear is pretty OP, but the Dailies use RH.

I don't really think your analogy stacks up - were there an FPS game that offered 3 daily Deathmatches, and more often than not they were knife-only, or pistol DMs, I doubt it would be very well received, but it still isn't the point; the criticism is that the non-racing car dailies aren't challenging enough for the more competent drivers to get excited over - your analogy posits that they want easy races in racing cars, whereas the reality is the opposite, they want challenging races in cars that require more input than just 100% throttle.

I got bored on Brand's hatch today, not that the racing was bad, just starting 12th to 16th every race in a room full of S and A drivers was kind of uneventful. My best finish was from 11th to 5th after qualifying again. Still not really a fun car to drive, too slow for me.

So I decided to go for an experiment on Bluemoon bay, how much SR can I lose by draft bumping. Answer 88 points in one race! Plus I ran out of fuel, had to pit again in lap 24 to finish in 15th.

Sat Feb 17 2018 14:54:37 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:37761 | SR:99/99 | Races:1220 | DPUR:39
Sat Feb 17 2018 15:25:16 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:50000 | SR:21/99 | Races:1221 | DPUR:200 12th -> 15th -88 Draft bumping

Then things got weird, exact same strategy yet now with fuel map 2 while draft bumping to increase the gap to 3rd and run first place down in fuel at the same time, worked perfectly.

Sat Feb 17 2018 15:25:16 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:50000 | SR:21/99 | Races:1221 | DPUR:200
Sat Feb 17 2018 15:57:06 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:50046 | SR:21/99 | Races:1222 | DPUR:200 3rd -> 1st -0 Draft bumping

Oddly no SR loss, and a whole 54 points from first place (some bug increased my DR to 50k while dropping to SR.C)
Next race I got disconnected on match making so I decided to check out Bathurst at SR.C

Sat Feb 17 2018 15:57:06 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:50046 | SR:21/99 | Races:1222 | DPUR:200
Sat Feb 17 2018 16:53:17 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:50127 | SR:30/99 | Races:1223 | DPUR:201 2nd -> 1st +9 Bathurst clean race

Easy +12 sec ahead win. There's no competition at SR.C if you're used to driving with A and S drivers. My DR now showed as B
Back to the oval

Sat Feb 17 2018 16:53:17 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:50127 | SR:30/99 | Races:1223 | DPUR:201
Sat Feb 17 2018 17:25:37 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:7000 | SR:1/99 | Races:1224 | DPUR:175 1st -> 1st -29 Draft bumping

Starting on pole now, same draft bumping now dropped me to SR.E, bye bye DR. Very fun race again, working together while outrunning 1st place.
So let's see how SR.E goes

Sat Feb 17 2018 17:25:37 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:7000 | SR:1/99 | Races:1224 | DPUR:175
Sat Feb 17 2018 17:57:40 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:9744 | SR:54/99 | Races:1225 | DPUR:96 1st -> 1st +53 Draft bumping

Err, same thing, let myself get passed first corner, then draft bumping in fuel map 2 to create a gap while wearing my opponents fuel down, yet now my SR increases by 53 points? And 2744 DR for a win this time.

I think I broke the algorithm :)

Being matched with Dr S drivers on today's Daily B race. I am a Dr B, if I get a first place finish I should be at Dr. A. I screwed up my chance by butchering a corner on the last lap. Then one race was going to pass a guy for first and he crashed me off. Gonna keep trying for a bit. The race is fun but there is one corner the Cayman doesn't take well in third gear and lots of people are overshooting it.

It's actually corner 6 that can go really wrong for me.

Oh god yeah, too far to the left on exit and you are spinning like a top. But you also can't turn too early as it is just too slow if you take too much kerb

Absolutely man, if you take it a bit too quick you go very wide. If you take it sharply you can hit kerb and lose control. Overall it's fun but very aggressive divebombing by A/S DR players.

really? that's an easy corner...

It is if you want to lose time against Dr A/S drivers. They take it really fast without losing control. Sometimes it's that corner for me or a different one.

I cannot win oval races. I had so many issues on Blue Moon last night, where I ended up quitting twice. Struggled to stay in the top 10 and had a really terrible time at it. Getting bumped into the wall, bumping between cars like a pinball (especially after one stopped ghosting as soon as I got to them), not being able to enter the pit lane and other shenanigans. However I did win the Cayman race at Brands.

I was tempted once to try it on someone that had sideswiped me a few times in a race. Didn’t know if it’d work.

Yeah don't bother , just get used to aggressive and dirty drivers. Dr A and Dr S are full of them. I'm done for the day, did about 7 races for Daily B. Improved my Dr and got a nice daily workout gift. Was gonna do some more but drivers are way too aggressive and lots of wrecks are happening. People aren't giving each other space when they are side to side to each other. Late braking shouldn't work out to these peoples favor either, they are late braking and recovering with CSA.

The big thing for me is people wrecking from being overly aggressive and being teleported back on the track. That shouldn’t happen. Drive yourself back into the track and re-earn your spot.

I agree, actually had a guy behind me take a corner way too fast and go in the grass but recovered and caught up to me going at a faster speed. On today's race actually. I couldn't believe it, it doesn't work with me. Happened on corner 7 for Brands Hatch.

Yeah, kind of funny how they can come back no problem, but once it happens to you, you don’t get the same seemingly instant teleport + speed boost assist. Another reason why I think Sport Mode feels a little “rigged” sometimes.

I did the FIA Dragons Trail race today and there was a very laggy (Brazil) driver who was bashing me from behind and then divebombed me. They were teleporting so much that I couldn't get close enough to pass. PD has to fix this, it's an unfair advantage and a safety hazard. Certainly they can tell when a player's connection is too janky. They should just be kicked from the race.

Did Race C/Blue Moon. Actually got a Clean Race bonus and moved up 6 spots to 12th place. There was some carnage, but I was a safe enough distance. Oval races aren’t my favorite, but I like the sense of speed and only really needing to break once or twice a lap. I also like the extra space.
