No GR.1 again today, Nurb GP should still be fun. I only have time for short races at first though, N100 feels like pushing a shopping trolly, Lago is not my favorite but will see what happens.

Kyoto was good yesterday, mostly clean to very clean races. First racing without qualifying making up plenty positions along the way, then after qualifying a bit less eventful as it was mostly an expanding train at the front. Best was second after 2nd and 3rd crashed into each other at the end, worst 12th after a 5sec yellow flag penalty from a similar event in the last turn. 3 disconnects were less funny, dropped back to DR.B briefly and then into DR.A again. No win possibilities, solid alien up front every time.

Prediction for today, drop into DR.B again on Lago, then 5th time to DR.A on Nurb tonight. Some tracks/slower cars I'm DR.B, GR.3 GR.1 I shoot into DR.A again. Oscillating between 25k and 40k the past week, DR needs to be car class specific!

GT6 had - at least imho - far better slow moving tire physics than GTS does, try launching a car in GTS, you just hit redline and the tires spin until you hit maximum speed of the gear which is far too late to upshift. Basically launching in GTS is like launching on ice with racing slick tires...

Yeah that's true, but Scaff is claiming that GT 6 had the same issues with slow physics. I'm just saying I sunk a lot of hours into competitively racing online in that game, burnt through 3 PS3s in the process, and never [knowingly] came across them.

I will however agree with you that mashing the throttle whilst the car is slowly moving in GT S behaves oddly, I'd just been attributing that to weird TCS behaviour, and again I haven't noticed it when doing an actual race with a standing start.

And this is the issue with GT Sport online. It's always someone else's fault, when the OP should really check him/herself out first.

What he means is control what you can control. You can't make those dirty drivers you were racing against clean but what you don't do is push them back, re-join unsafely and basically act like them, that only makes the carnage worse.

You can't just go well they started it, even though they did because that didn't and doesn't help you. Instead you should have patiently followed the guy that pushed you to pass, waiting for a clear overtaking chance and not spend your time giving him a shove back, that allowed the others to catch back up easily and then all kinds of carnage kicked off afterwards.
 
I would not like to be in a race like that but it sure is some funny viewing when the mayhem starts, I couldn't stop laughing :lol:
 
How are people acting in Manufacturers cups?

I would like to participate in Alsace Village, but if is like in Nations cup, then no thanks.

I mean, if you're comparing yesterdays Nations cup to an everyday race, Blue Moon is by far the worst for carnage in races.

Alsace as a track is very hard to pass on, and ultimately drives pretty clean. The only problem really stems from people who dive for insides of corners as there are lots of underbraking/undercutting possibilities if you are close enough, but most are countered by an over/under move with superior exit speeds of taking proper outside to inside lines.

For the most part, FIA races drive the same as Daily race C and whatever SR bracket you're currently in.
 
How the hell are people getting these qualifying times with the Miata? I jump on early morning for best chances at wins(evening racing is just for fun).

I've gotten everything I could out of that car, but I'm still starting mid-pack. At this hour in the day I've never started below 3rd. What am I missing? Tried that stupid CSA trick like with the R34, but it's caused me to lose time instead. Feeling really slow right now. :(

Anyway, giving the WRX race a go now.


Edit: I guess some of the faster guys just happen to be on right now. Today isn't one where I'll win I suppose.

A guy at 15th place was doing Donuts on lap 8 at Nurburgring today.

I just couldn't believe my eyes.

What the hell is wrong with some people :p

Sometimes when I'm just out of it and can't seem to drive above 5% of my potential, once I throw it away with mistake after mistake I'll finally be so frustrated that I'll either just park, cruise, or like this fellow I'll just do donuts until the end.

Check out the replays of the top tens, check the mph they maintain at each turn, that’s your target not to drop lower than that

Miata race was pretty dull, there's one lift midway through t1, then a big brake at the end - that's about all there is.
 
7:36pm and my first foray today into sport races. Just don't have the time

7 :40 Race wasn't so dirty. Was as clean for me as gold pants.
Seen @banckzy and @_ApexPredator in the race.

Anyway, thank you @Sven Jurgens for posting those videos because although I disagree with you, they provoke interesting discussion on racing styles and different approaches to self-preservation out there on the crazy matchmaking lobby scene.

Yeah the other 2 were an obvious punt and a tripple bash from the side off the road, not much room for discussion. It's just the last guy that broke the camel's back.

I just did a Nurb GP race, closing the door, more defensive style driving. However matchmaking was very lobsided again, I can do about 2 minute laps race pace, my luck the guy behind me crashed earlier and wanted back to the front, yet although he was faster (1 sec faster best lap) , he did not have the skills to pass cleanly. After bumping me from behind 4 times at the apex instead of aiming for a faster corner exit, he finally short cut the last chicane to get his nose on the inside and bumped me again through the final corner to get ahead. Ofcourse in a 10 lapper his penalty was gone by the end and still a blue S. Yet I did not go off road!

I did screw up next T1, lost concentration after all those bumps, at least I didn't hit anyone. Had a lovely race for 15th after, until he lost connection in the last lap, meh. Didn't make it to the finish in time, matchmaking :/

I was only trying to get some opinions about how fair or dirty players are there used to be.

For example, I did about three Nations cup so far in all of them there was a lot of dirty racing...

This morning raced in two B races and feedback is very bad and it says - show no more.

I'm not racing much, just bcs of that.
Everything I want is fair play competition.
Sadly, not anymore in contact with guys from my country I was racing with in GT5 & 6.
If I would have that team here, no more worries about S, E or "X" , just custom lobby and drive...

Well, I find racing at SR S is for the most part, very fair and clean - there is the occasional contact, but most of the time it is not done on purpose.

After all I have been through the last week I almost hang myself lol.

Tonight I did just one race at GP, almost clean, and earned 14 out of 16 sr points back. So I'm almost back at where I started today. Still on C though, so we will see what the kiddos will bring me this weekend..
 
Just did the FIA manufacturer race at Alsece, ran into some blockers, even during qualifying- funny part was the blocker that blocked me got the penalty and fell to 18th while I went up to 10th. During the race had a blocker in front of me, would've had a clean race bonus but heading into a corner he decided to just steer right into me and force me into the fence.

Oh yeah, I couldn't save the replay at the end of the race, option was greyed out and I don't have that many replays saved in my library. I'm bummed because I wanted to watch some moments.
