So your (sport)manshift is set at zero now :D:D:D
There was some funny thread about SR ratings recently :gtpflag:

Will check it out... I guess it says: use AT = 0 Sportmanship? :)

Impressive that you've gotten to where you are on AT. I thought majority of A drivers use MT

Yeah, it seems they do

I just can't coordinate my hands to change gear whilst using them to steer, accelerate and brake (as well as check MFD and look behind) all on a controller :(

Edit: going up is fine, but coming down whilst braking and turning for a corner is just a mess. I tried it on the RX7 Maggiore Centre race the other day and it was carnage.

I thought you are SR/S?

Yes I am, and so supposedly are the people I race with. The other DR/Ds have the enthusiasm but often lack the control not to hit you, particularly with breaking points. The DR/Cs are more likely to nudge you off the track after crowbaring their way into the inside when there is only 1/2 a car width of track between you and the inside. The DR/Bs are usually the hooligans who smash and bash their way up the field but somehow manage to regain their SR/S.

I was just kidding  you do great indeed with the DS4
If man shift then it's not automatic ;)
Btw, I also use the controller, so no way for handling manual shifting.
Do you use extenders on the L2 and R2. I think this would give longer travel so better control over minor movements?

I am made of similar cloth. I can use MT but i constantly forget that i using it. So used to AT. Also with AT I find it easier for braking. Generally most of the time its using the gear above te suggestive gear. Also use a pad and on high DR B

 I thought about this the other day... he started a thread, which is now on 240 pages, and disappeared
I bet he'll be surprised how big this blew up when he comes back

My wifi just disconnected me 20 seconds before the race :irked:
Time to trim my quali, I guess...

 yeah I also forgot when I tried to practice the other day too... was wondering why I was stuck at like 50mph and the engine making such a whining noise

That will be one hell of a readback!

Better than bumping you off after matchmaking...

I'm 4/10ths faster throughout the first two sectors, but I managed to F up the last sector :banghead:
2:04.463 getting there :)

Not as bad as me yesterday, had the DS4 on the side whilst racing with the G29.... little did I know the DS4 was slightly pushing against the chair applying around 10-15% brake the whole time and because the LM55 brake lights are so dim I didnt even notice!! :banghead:

There was me thinking people were getting insane slipstream

Does anyone have tips for the first braking point at T1 on Race B? I defended the inside and braked at 100m, but that seems to be a bit too generous as I was overtaken by two people on the outside
Fun first race though! I regained the positions through an outside move and a cutback :D

Yes, lower your DR to B, then find a car and stick on his bumper until he starts braking. Blame him for braking too early after the race.

The inside is not a good place to be on Nurb GP. People coming from the outside usually don't pay attention and drive straight into you, while if it works you're now on the outside with a faster car coming up your inside for the next corner, which will often go wide there. Take the outside, let the dive bomb pass, then turn in while keeping eyes glued to the radar. Perhaps sit on a bible, it might help.

But I'm pole :(

Just did your advice (didn't have a bible at hand, so a rosary on the wrist will do) and it worked like a charm. Also braked a bit closer to 50. Thanks! :D

Didn't get the win though... I cut one of the corners too much and got a penalty for it :O

Not sure I’ll be racing tonight was bad enough last night on a track I thought I was good at let alone these!

I’m still surprised by the difference in etiquette in an all DRS/A room from the front of the grid to the rear. I was in front of @Arcflyer last night, all can I say is his driving was perfect! He was clearly faster than me, but I could tell he was braking earlier so not to make contact, no crazy moves to get past. I could just concentrate on my race because I had no fear of him being behind me! In the end I let him past in the fast s as he was clearly faster. I would race like this all day and would give the same respect to anyone if they raced like this. But in the back it just a barge fest any tiny gap go for it!

Much more fun for me when there’s mutual respect!

Shouldn't you be fast enough to just start from pole and then drive it home? (On courses without T1 carnage...). That should rocket you so SR S fast.

Started the first race on p2, won the race. Next race i was p7.. 1st corner derby and ended up 13th because of penalties.
3rd race p1, 1st corner derby again en finished 12th... the 3rd race after i got punted in the first corner i just drove at the back to get my SR up.

Something in me don't wanna drive at the back to get SR up, because it will 🤬 my "Track start and finish chart". And i love my stats.. but gotta do something

Practice makes perfect to be honest, and you'll find you are much faster using MT - it took me less than 1-2 hours to get used to it.
Granted when I used to drive with the DS4 I was using triggers for throttle, thumbs for steering and buttons for shifting.

In four races total, in visit to hell!
From AS to CD, normal fair racing but refusing to serve anything from greater evil, that PD is calling penalty system or sportsmen rating!

7k dr 12 sr

I wanted that so everyone can see how much racing in fia racing game really is...
Everything is so much easier when you, just don't care at all!

Title and everything is original, three races, it is stream and I don't expect that you'll be watching everything:

I did one Tokyo race on my lunch break, test the waters. The waters are bad. Somehow I survived half the grid not braking for T1, chaos.
Started 5th, finished 5th, but still got a penalty for this:

First I let the diver through like a good boy
XIFyweb.gif

That gives him a very slow exit naturally, so I get alongside and as I'm starting to turn in
UdDOSKV.gif

He simply drives like I'm not there, I go down 8 SR for this and get a 5 second penalty so have to let him win.

Never mind, bye bye Tokyo.
