Had pole on the C race, but was too occupied with the fuel I messed up a corner and lost 3 place AND got a 5sec. penalty :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Then the guy in 3rd pulled some crappy blocking moves on the final lap on the last straight, I had more speed from the slipstream, but he swerved and kept shutting the door... missed my braking point and sorta bumped him in the wall... although he did still finish infront of me due to my penalties.. well, the 5th car got past us both so we fought for 3rd but neither of us got it :ouch::rolleyes:
 
Ah the joy of starting Suzuka from pole :D

Stayed 1st, kept FL until last lap where I toned down a bit to avoid crashing out, and clean bonus:cheers:

Compared to race before it where I got elegantly shoved off from 4th to last:
rammers, zigzagging on straights to prevent me from taking over, horrible brake points..:banghead:

Pole really has that advantage of avoiding first corner massacre lol

Agreed, my two wins last night were both from pole, I didn’t even have to drive fast because 2nd onwards were engaged in carnage. If I started anywhere else is was chaos
 
Don't know Suzuka too well so did the circuit experience up to gold... ok, I know where it goes now. A few sport races in and I can declare: i suck hard at this track, like, golf ball through a garden hose hard

People don't even race to win anymore, they just so the other guy wouldn't win lol.

Just finished 9th after getting rammed and brake checked in literally every corner.
Shoulda quit while I was on a streak..:D
 
I hate scenarios like this one:

Last lap on Suzuka, and the guy behind gets close to me coming up to 130R. He's to my inside just barely overlapping my rear bumper. I think he'll back out since in my mind it's stupid to try to go through there side by side. Instead, he keeps right there up to the apex.

My choices are to keep my speed and take the corner and crash, back off and give him space while still risking a crash, or keep speed and give space and completely miss the corner.

I hate these because even though there is no contact, I've pretty much already lost the position.

It's last lap, so moves like that are more common. It's almost the end of the track as well

It's not exactly dirty either; it just raises the probability of the move getting dirty. Clean passes there are possible :)

Since getting knocked back to D/E last night I only have to set one qualifying lap, guaranteed pole and easy win. I could just do this until I get my 91 wins.

Thinking about it, is that all anyone does? Take away that trophy would there be less carnage?

I don't think so, because if the trophy's really the cause of it all then the front field should be the dirty ones, not midfield nor backrow. I think though that it's the cause of D/S aliens :lol:

But if the front field are faster, they may already have it, or at least be experienced enough to know winning races isn’t stopping other players crossing the line.

Mid field is just full of people not smart enough to figure it out
 
The most confusing thing about GT Sport is that I'm getting good results out of Suzuka of all places. I don't think I've ever won a single race there in any prior series and now it's one of the best places where I can get one. :odd:

Today was the first time I really tried to figure out the 911 because I was struggling with its nature before. Forget 59s because I know I can get her in the 58s if I'm just a little more brave. Need a little more work with race pace but my first time out there was a bit of a surprise because I had a twin behind me.



Thinking I started to understand the 911, I then wheeled out the Audi R8 hoping I could do the same. I can say with a straight face I ran a 59.6 with the R8 but you're not getting me to actually race the thing. That car and turn 1, no. Just no.

Regarding to the matchmaking system, I think it holds qualifying time into account, at least to a certain extent. All my Suzuka races so far is a predominantly B/S lobby, sometimes A/S with the occassional S/S. I like to note though, that this is the first time I was matched like this while in a lower ranking :)
 
Never drove Nurburgring 24hr before - wow what a fun track !!!
I would probably never race there as I can imagine the mayhem as passing would be hard.
But to just joy drive a car on it would be great !

Nurb 24h is always fun to race on. The standing start doesn't make T1 any better though. It's about 50/50 whether you get through without a penalty while someone will hit you from behind every single time. Penalties happen when you get side swiped in those 150 degree turns. Patience!

I'm starting 7th pretty much every race, in the danger zone. Lag is a big factor as well. The car is a bit of a dud yet the track is too much fun to skip. Hopefully the racing will improve in the evening as it usually does. I'm holding on to SR 99 so far, just barely. Receiving a 5 sec penalty in T1 can already reset your rating to white for the race. Get hit twice and it's already red. A 1 sec penalty in T1 still lets you have a blue rating. DR.A is harsh.

Apparently DR.B can draft bump without consequences as a DR.B was pushing me on the straight to catch up with the lead. If I tap any car every so slightly it's 10 sec....
 
Boy it was a grind but managed to restore myself to SR A and it feels like I can enjoy the races again. It was some tough slogging over the last few days to get back.
Today I was only doing Suzuka and I have started to master the track in Gr.3.
There are some key points were you can gain great speed if you do it right. The turn into the overpass is a place were I have gained a surprising number of .100 's when I get it right.

Yes, very much so. No need to save fuel. The car will get a bit extra pushy on lap 2 though as the fronts burn off much faster than the rears.

I actually found the second lap had the car handling much better with tyre wear, it was the first lap that gave me curry!

Get 32nd win cause the 1st and 2nd (finished on 3rd and 4th) doing some body slam from lap 2 till end :lol: both is way faster than me they could win if they not do that (penalty 10 seconds is hurt) and thanks to Genesis powerful braking it save me from guy in front sudden move.
 
Lots of fun racing at Suzuka back in the cheap seats (DR C and thereabout...) today. Actually ran as many as I could. Shared the track with a bunch of clean racers. (And one jackhammer in a Beetle who just had to barge through the last corner on the last lap...)

In my experience, the best way to handle a possible overtaking moment at 130R is... try to avoid getting into that situation altogether. Even with the top guys, I've seen it end in tears many times over because unless the lead car botches their exit out of Spoon, that uphill stretch makes getting enough of a run to get the overlap more difficult than expected. Add to that the whole length of the stretch to think about what to do leads to dicey decision-making. One chooses wrong and it's disaster.

With that out of the way, guess who had to deal with this very scenario? I can't make this stuff up. If you ask me how I did everything in this video, the stars aligned. That's the best explanation I have. :boggled:

Awesome night on Nurb 24h, with the closest finish ever for 2nd place. We finished with the exact same time, however I had a 1 sec penalty outstanding from T1 so got 3rd place.

I was chasing him for the entire race, bumper to bumper for most of the 2nd lap. All for a well time pass on the final straight. However he had a slightly better corner exit to the finish and draft passed me, however not quite in time.

Too bad about that unruly T1 every race. I would have liked to see who the game would have given 2nd place without the penalty. One of the best races ever, so close the entire race.

Bathurst tomorrow, and I was hoping for some rest :) More racing instead!
