How has my SR gone DOWN after getting four penalties in 24 laps of racing (three were 4s each and one was for cutting a corner by an inch)? I feel ridiculous, borderline DR S with 50 SR points -_-

Stockholm syndrome!
That's really good times Alpha! Great stuff there! Wow :) . - I could only get down to 13.1 at BmB - to afraid to try Nurb now that I dropped from DR B / SR S to DR B /SR B!! I am so negatively surprised about the new penalty systems - WOW! In my racing line with max speed through the turns still get hit hard from behind making me get off the track and I get penalty points from nothing really........ Anyhow - we need to build the SR back up then..... but I think I will continue ask for daily updates on lap-times on daily races here as I today ended up in the middle of the starting grid (6th. to 8th.) I need good laptimes before entering a race otherwise I get penalty for leaving the race when I see which grid position I got that I don't want to be in........ to "bumpy"... Thanks Alpha!
Being midfield on tracks that has a 50 km/h turn for T1 will never end well sadly :indiff:
The general rule of thumb for laptimes is "a second per minute"
This means that if you want to be on pole position, you have to be a second per minute behind the Top 10. (eg. on a one minute track you are behind top 10 by a second, two minute track fwo second behinds, so on and so forth)
That's for DR B anyway, at DR A it's generally half a second, and DR S you have no hope unless you're top 10

Maybe because you got FOUR penalties dude. System is tough right now, gotta keep it clean

I can't complain about that. Had 10 wins out of 10 races with an DR jump from B to A 👍
To my opinion you had a DR loss because you ended behind lower rated drivers like me. Everything changes when it comes to Karts;)

Edit: Like in your case, many DR S and A finished behind me. They all have lost DR, which explains my spectacular DR increase :D:tup:

that is why i lost DR, I knew even before I entered the races, but i'm not so concerned about it since it's easy enough to get back. you did a great lap, my optimal was in the top 10 but it would have taken me hours to reach it probably, i'm fast but pretty inconsistent with karts, i make many mistakes

Tell me!!! Crazy stupid - but it is what it is..... Understand your point FULLY Geo! Thanks! PS - I saw a thread from someone in the Admin today and they said that your SR goes down if YOU hit another car - I didn't hit any cars but other cars hit me for no reason and I got my SR down BIG!! - does it mean that if another car hits me that I am guilty hitting him??? - completely idiotic system! Typical IT issue - no experience on any race tracks their entire life!! - making rules mathematical without understanding the drivers actions in racing! SOO darn bad! I'm very disappointed about the GTS now!! Cheers for sharing your post mate.

Trying passing judgement in a mathematical manner with hard rules on a sport whose regulations on pointing blame is 50% a gray area with always 2 sides to the story. Let's see how you'll do. The penalty system sucks right now yeah and it needs to be fixed, but dissing the developers who made it is inexcusable.

For your SR, the game's current system right now is that if two cars hit each other, both will get an SR down as well as a penalty, and the one at fault will usually (optimistically) get the bigger SR down and penalty. The (probable) reason its giving you those as well is because the game's trying play it safe in the case that it blamed the wrong driver on that incident, so at least even if the dirty driver got the lighter side of the penalty system, they still have a penalty nonetheless

Got knocked around a bit & went from BS to BC, when starting on pole my car always starts the race in 1st gear, even though it's on the rev limiter it will not shift, as a result I always get passed at the start.
Any other starting spot I'm in 3rd to start race, what gives?

Why are you hyphenating between sentences?

The last race I did on Bluemoon infield had the 2 dirtiest first laps I have seen in a while, cars banging into each other, pushing each other into the walls, bumping from behind, diving into corners, and the whole field has blue ratings at the end... Just one of those taps would be red in a regular daily B. Go full aggression in the first 2 laps, it doesn't matter apparently. Although I did move up 3 spots at the finish from everyone having penalties...

I managed to get a penalty from hitting the pit wall, distracted, let go of the controller a bit too soon, 1 inch too close, instant stop. That's a strong bumper on that car, and 5 sec penalty for damaging the precious pit wall. Annoying as auto drive had already engaged taking its sweet time doodling around to get in the pit lane. Luckily no one else was around as pitting in lap 8 is the cool thing to do. And somehow I didn't lose any positions, there must have been a nice pile up in that lap I was pitting.

Impossible to connect to GTSport servers since around 2 hours with this message.

My daily gains / losses in race B today, pretty happy with that. I don't know why I won almost 3K in race 16 tho. Race 18 is the Manufacturer series, I lost almost 1K here lol.

Race 16 you probably went up in driver rating to the next category ie. DR-B to DR-A. I think you get an extra 2000 point boost whenever you break into the next category. Anyway fantastic driving; looks like you've been driving extremely well!

Yeah, I think that you're right. I reached A rank right after this race iirc 👍

I've been going the other direction due to a combination of wheel disconnections mid-race, my own bad driving, and the Tokyo graveyard! Initially I was quite frustrated and probably taking it too seriously, but I think my DR level was above what it should be in the first place. Now that I'm on my downward slide it's time to start enjoying racing again!
