Ohhhh 05XR888888! There's a race for you.......

Yeh, I had that at the first chicane at Monza with the RSR. Normally particularly under coast is turns really tight, but for that one time it just wasn't turning, and I was crawling, not at any speed. It sorted itself out after that, but from your previous posts, this seems to be a recurring problem for you :(.
Yeah. Destroys my rhythm. Also anyone I've just overtaken. To add, my PS4 is new. Controller never dropped. Just happens with no warning.

That Raptorrace. Time to bring out THE NYPD tow truck.

Anyone having dead steering at certain corners?

Keeps happening. I'm coasting in a hairpin, waiting to add throttle and the car keeps veering to the outside off track. It's not even understeer. The steering just doesn't turn the car. Adding brake does nothing to stop this.

I overtook a car for 2nd at Kyoto. The steering just went on holiday. I fell to 5th on lap 3 and got back to finish 3rd.
Good thing my Walked M6 is a rocket.

I also had that last night in GT League, I would make the turn in, well below the required speed and the car Just wouldn’t get round the turn. No matter what I did the car would just slide to the outside of the track! Then I realised I was in the Megane and it’s an FF piece of ****.

Is that Countersteering? Maybe that's causing my dead steering thing.

Edit: I have that turned off.

Real men have counter steer assistance turned off

But you are not even responding to all the reactions. Why is that ?

Because after those reactions I've stopped caring. Let's see the OLR rules from this very site:

10: Defensive Driving:

A:
Leading cars have the right to choose their own line down a straight. They can change their racing line once while driving down a straight (Move from the outside line to the inside, or vice versa). As they approach the next corner, they can return to the racing line of their choice However, they're not allowed to change their line when the behind driver is directly behind and changes his line to try and make a pass. If your movement causes an accident, you're responsible.

B:
Leading cars have the right to take their line of choice through corners. I.e. they may drive a defensive line around the inside of a corner to protect their position, thereby forcing an attacking driver to try to pass around the outside. This is not blocking and is part of normal racing etiquette. In fact, apart from the restrictions of rule 10:A, a leading driver can drive any line which they feel is the most inconvenient for any following car to try to pass them.

Then let's see F1 rules.

https://f1metrics.wordpress.com/2014/08/28/the-rules-of-racing/
When one driver is completely ahead of another on a straight, they are permitted to make a move in one direction. This move can be of any size, within the track limits, and the move can be made as slowly or as quickly as the driver likes — they can jink suddenly to one side or they can spend an entire straight gradually shifting across the track. This rule is stated under sporting regulation 20.4

20.4 Any driver defending his position on a straight, and before any braking area, may use the full width of the track during his first move, provided no significant portion of the car attempting to pass is alongside his. Whilst defending in this way the driver may not leave the track without justifiable reason.

I know very well that changing the driving line in the braking zone isn't allowed. Looking at the steering meter shows that I didn't change it with the exception of minimal corrections - my car was already pointing to the inside of the corner two seconds before I even started braking. No sudden line changes, no weaving or blocking, one continuous line from the outside to the inside to take a very early apex. The only sudden movement was when I straightened out trying to avoid the divebomb at the last moment with no success, I hadn't even made it more than half across the track when the hit came. Moreover, there was well more than a car's width of room (compare the width of the car to the width of the lane) on the right, that pass could have been made without contact if so wished. Again, the OLR rules:

06: Running into the car ahead of you:

A:
The behind driver must take all necessary care and responsibility not to run into an ahead driver.

B:
In case you brake too late for a corner or partially lose control of your car, but can prevent an accident by steering into the dirt, grass or a wall, you are expected to do so.

C:
The ahead driver must not do any malicious or inappropriate braking or slowing. Leading cars MUST NOT EVER 'brake check' the car(s) behind them because they are following too closely. The ahead driver IS entitled to be slower or use longer and earlier braking zones than others. They are also entitled to turn in earlier or later and/or apex earlier or later.

In real life the passing car would have got a penalty for causing an avoidable accident or, more likely, the entire thing would have been deemed a racing incident with no action warranted. Nobody seems to think that the driver making the pass had any responsibilities to make it work without contact. My moving across the track could be seen from way back, no unpredictable moves, there was enough room left on the inside, yet the passing driver still drove into my door. And that's the exact reason I've stopped caring.

Race A - Big Willow, Ford Raptor, 5 Laps
Race B - Yamagiwa, GR3, 4 Laps
Race C - Dragon Trail Gardens, GR2, 13 Laps with 8 x Fuel and 10 x Tires.
After sell my car and now this, such blessing indeed.

Definitely will run that 2 races back to back since I have good times on that DRG and Yamagiwa :D
I dunno but currently GTR is much better for me to racing.

I think all Race A's are like that. One makes for Race B and C are usually garage cars.

Yes usually only Race B and Race C have garage cars available. Hoping we have one soon as I have a few liveries I want to race online
with that are normally one make class races.

After Greycap's rant, I decided to try hunt down this "OLR" of which he spake. Talk about elusive! It's buried deep with sub layers of the GT6 forum. (GT6 Online Racing-->GT6 Racing Series for any one interested) . PD really needs to pull it's finger out and publish a document similar to this for GTS because those stupid etiquette videos really don't cut it. I think there are thousands of players of the game who don't read this forum. The GTP OLR rules and guidelines really make things clear and if more people were made aware of them and *read* them, maybe there would be cleaner racing in the dailys? ok, rant off :p.

Would you like to post them in a new thread in the GT Sport sub forum for all to see? Not everyone reads the daily race discussion either, and is easy to miss a single comment in this thread

Might not be a bad idea, but I think perhaps a sticky from one of the GTP staff? Keep in mind there are certain aspects which don't apply. GTS has no stewards and there is no one to report to if you decide you aren't turning up to a race . Like I said, PD really needs to make things a bit clearer than "don't do things that make you look bad!" because there are some who think using another car as a braking point looks pretty good :odd:.

Sorry that’s happened to you, we’ve all been there. But the only way you’ll lose 44SR is by retaliating, so that’s on you. I’ve learned not to retaliate, just race your race, maintain that SR and you’ll enjoy yourself so much more.

Umm.. I don't retaliate. Especially when I'm trying to get SR up, not really caring about DR atm. Since I don't have a replay I probably do look guilty :D

I did have a very nice race last night too. Me and a french guy (pole) battled for the win from first corner to the last. No contact. First half of the track he was clearly faster but the second half was mine and he was somewhat slow in the last corner. Got a win from that. If only all the races would be like this.

I'd say in the 13 races I did atleast 70% of players had negative SR in the end. And most of this happened in SR:A. Point still being anything below SR:S seems to be dirtier than it's ever been. One reason might be that in corner collisions the system mostly punishes the not guilty driver and I think people are starting to take advantage of that. Cut a corner and hit someone in the right angle - you escape clean and the other guy goes to the grass and gets a penalty.

Now I have serious understeer in the long corners. In qualy, I dropped my time from. 35.8 to 34.368. Not one hint of a problem. The car is hooked up.

Race starts and first corner, in 3rd gear even, the thing will not turn. Uphill into the esses, it was fine. Second left hand sweeper, everyone are pedalling away from me. Got off the throttle, no tuck in. Just waiting waiting waiting...

+1

I would like to see this done. Being a begginer and even though I try to apply common sense it would be important to learn the etiquette rules from someone more experienced. Maybe that thread coud also be used for people to share real races situations to understand whether they were following the rules or not.

Good day all, may I ask if there is a thread where it explain how you can fill in with your own words when the drivers names come on the monitor during warm-up? I understand it must be done prior to this time but I can't find out how to do it? Thanks for your time. Cheers

So a question for Dragon Tail Gardens, Race C today.

I assume the top 10 is made up of the Lexus AU-F again or is it a different car as I've begun to notice that whatever car you use
for the free practice times that determine race grid order is not necessiarly the best car to use in the race itself.

For me I can't hook together a lap with the Lexus but I do quite well with the Nismo GT-R from Gr2 class and same with the NSX.

I guess the purpose of my post is really to ask should I just do a free practice session with the Lexus to record a good time and
then when I actually enter the race with my time use the car I know I might be able to win with?

Nice choice, but I bought Burnout Revenge so thats going on. Maybe races later on.

Almost no difference... some basic burnout and bashing, on both witha a taste of carnage...

Perfect dish... for some, but I pass...

Wow what a night! I discovered I'd picked up a "follower" from Monza. Not sure if he's collecting Australians or if I'm on his 🤬 list :scared:. Then I decided to take on Kyoto. I haven't driven the circuit for a while and I don't think I've ever raced there in Sport mode. Hopped on with the Viper, did a few laps till I was able to at least keep it on the track (I call that phase 1). Went off to do some Livery editing, then entered the race and got in a few more qualifying laps. I could see where there was places to make more gains, but I just couldn't get the flow. Qualified P12.

The cars always seem to handle worse in the race than qualifying, despite full fuel for both and no tyre wear. Obviously there were people having a harder time than me. I didn't see any dirty racing. I had a couple of cars right up my rear in a couple of places were I had to slow right down, desperate to keep it on the tarmac. No contact 👍. I think the pull of the Viper was the only thing keeping me ahead out of the turn. The result....

(wish the camera angle was a bit higher :dopey:.)

SR the same, DR up a couple of hundred. Another day above DR 1 :D.

More or less this "rules", may also be found in this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...ng-behaviour-how-gts-should-be-played.375408/

I hope it may help to shed some light!

Personally not happy with today's track selection for B and C. They should refrain from using a fantasy track for both in the same day. The only original track I really like is DT Seaside.
