So a question for Dragon Tail Gardens, Race C today.

I assume the top 10 is made up of the Lexus AU-F again or is it a different car as I've begun to notice that whatever car you use
for the free practice times that determine race grid order is not necessiarly the best car to use in the race itself.

For me I can't hook together a lap with the Lexus but I do quite well with the Nismo GT-R from Gr2 class and same with the NSX.

I guess the purpose of my post is really to ask should I just do a free practice session with the Lexus to record a good time and
then when I actually enter the race with my time use the car I know I might be able to win with?

i used the honda. set a decent enough qualifier 1.22.7 to be placed well enough at the starts but seemed to have problems managing fuel in the races. better off racing with the lexus or the gt-r i think.

Sorry that’s happened to you, we’ve all been there. But the only way you’ll lose 44SR is by retaliating, so that’s on you. I’ve learned not to retaliate, just race your race, maintain that SR and you’ll enjoy yourself so much more.

untrue. I never ever retaliate and I lost 70 SR in a single monza race purely from 2 10 second penalties (small touches that didn't bother anybody) and a few smaller ones

You bumped him...

Don’t know why they didn’t got penalty too... they were bumping each other too

I think it's much harder to get penalty from side-swipe than from bumper contact, thus all corner side-rammers that get away unpunished.

You may not be time penalized but still are deducted several SR points!

@Greycap thx for your input. Would be better if you would write that immediately. But than again you would not know some here would think you were to blame. Still not reacting at all is not nice. We can all learn from this.

Would be best if PD starts etiquette videos instead of a 5 min video ....

Yeah, you see that bit at 17.8s where you hit him, at full throttle, and lost 8km/h from the impact and then he went off the track to the right at 20.4?

That's why you got the penalty. Hit a car which then goes off track -> penalty.

Indeed. Driving into someone from behind and causing them to go off the track into the wall probably should be penalised, right?

These daily races with boringly slow commercial cars have got to stop. I have no interest in racing around in a Ford Raptor pickup truck or a Mazda Roadster. Why can't we we race each other in Ferraris or Lambos or McClarens instead? You know... FUN cars?

Iam waaay of the pace in Group 2 managing just a 1:26.2something in Quali and even a second or so slower during the race, but boy do I dig that class. Somewhat tight and clean races and I actually can drive those cars sans traction control without causing a mess.

Did 7 Races today... 6 was clean, only two with penalties, one time wall, and another to close over curbs. Was a great race day. This race is the best so far. Did a short shifting strategy to reduce pit time... and gained a place (gap of 2.5 seconds before.) Some cool fights for3/4 place, but always respectful. Much fun!

Because you don't represent everybody and some people very much enjoy racing Mazda Roadsters for example.

I realize some people like driving those cars. An occasional daily race involving them is fine. But they are featured way too much. I've seen three daily races in a row where the one make race was a Mazda Roadster. It seems like these kinds of cars are massively over-represented in the one-make category. And I do believe the majority of people who play this game would rather race in a Ferrari than a Ford Raptor. The data I get from my friends list seems to support this. For example, of my 440 friends (virtually all of whom play GTS), about 22 have logged qualifying times for the Ford Raptor race at Willow Springs, myself included. By comparison, about 50 of my friends have logged qualifying times on the daily GR.3. This is typically the case when I do such comparisons. Races with faster, more aggressive cars tend to attract more racers, for obvious reasons. I feel like a daily race with Mazda Roadsters or a Ford Raptor should be a rare treat, not an almost daily occurrence. In playing this game since October of last year, I don't think I've had a chance to enter a race where the one-make was a supercar like a McClaren F1 or a Ferrari Enzo or something along those lines. I'm sure they've had them featured at one time or another, but I see WAY MORE races involving cars that would probably struggle to excite my grandmother.

I did not hit him, but maybe he just touched it!
If this gets 5 seconds then I will not play again
you rear ended him causing him to run wide and lose control. Watch your replay, you decelerate upon contact and the car you hit gets ejected wide. Your contact caused them leave the track. You should have been penalized for this.

I'd like to see a consistent daily one-make where it is the same car all week. It's fun to get really dialed in on a car- I think we'd see some great racing.

Wow some people really can't handle losing positions on race C..
Got rammed off 4 times by people going of the track and ghosting out then swiftly cutting corner right into me so they go back to their precious 5th -10th place..
They like make effort to side push out everyone off their way lol
Was too fast to rage quit after race end, really wanted to save replay:ouch:

Ended up being the only one with red S rating in race, while I was surrounded by bumper cars flashing red most of the 13 laps:confused:

Decided to go for race B today. Couldn't get on with the Viper for some reason and went with the rsr instead. Managed to beat my pb with a fairly respectable 1.33.044. After entering a number of races this afternoon I am nearly 5k up on Dr despite a few races where I slipped on the kerbs. Races have been really clean with some really good racing :D:D

Is that an Astronaut walking down the street?

Sorry for the off-topic. I'll be trying the Raptor race later on. Does the fact everyone is in a truck affect how the players drive with each other?
I'd say it's more about keeping up momentum than being in a truck. Choosing 2nd or 3rd gear at certain turns, yields different results. Also what line is chosen all around the track.

I just did one race. Started 4th finished 3rd. Just keep off the dirt, is all I can add.

You’re telling me, that you lost 70 points from two separate ten second penalties, both of which were minor taps that didn’t affect anyones race?

Where can I buy a pair of those rose tinted glasses you’re wearing?

Being a wearer of glasses my guess is Specsavers as you can buy tinted glasses in a variety of colours.

I was more joking about how driving Raptors might cause everyone's aggression to spike.

I'll take note of what you mentioned for gear changes.

Haha no, that's my neighbor's Manatee mailbox. But I can stand in my yard and watch all the launches from Cape Canaveral. It's become so commonplace that most times I don't even know when they're going up until I hear the rumble.

Edit: In a bit of irony, there was a launch today and I missed it.

Had a good race today at Big Willow with the Raptor. Started 3rd on the grid, but didn’t win until the closing seconds of the final lap as someone was trying to scrub a penalty. As I tried to pass the 1st place driver, he/she turned into me, but I slipped right through since their vehicle was still a ghost.

How is that race today? Have had little to no interest in racing the truck. Is worth a go in your opinion?
