For Dr A driver like me how far down in SR can I go before the reset?

Brands has not been nice to me today. Well, most of it was my own fault:banghead:

See those black lines on the SR graph (at 30, 15, and 5) ? they are the reset lines. Go past the first one and reset is to B, second resets to C and 3rd resets to D I think. Im not sure about the lower lines as i have only hit the first line at 30 and been reset to B

Lol that yellow wrx was hell bent to punt you out:D

I was at that first reset line exactly and it's 33 sr, so try to stay above 33 and you're good 👍

Too right. Becausei have gone to SR C its all like that, even though i got a clean race for that. Like to just show highlights of my races
Hate watching anything over 5 minutes

🤬:censored:Just got my first (and hopefully last) reset thanks to 2 consecutive wreckfests at Nurb...
I swear that track is worse than Monza for me, that first hairpin is a nightmare :nervous:
Well... at least I’ll pick up a few easy poles and wins on the way back to Dr A

Is Nurb being so ... reckless?? And what about Brands Hatch (Race C)??? It seems to me as the best race to be on.. today... :)

Ok, thanks. Have you been in my race just now? GTP_Venster or GTP_Vengard or something similar? TRL_AUGH was in it as well.

No I haven’t been on today, will be doing C later most likely. My PSN is different but I think there is Vengard on here.

Yep that would be @Vegard I would think. I had a few "races" myself this morning but in truth the driver/s starting ahead of me were just slightly quicker and I was quicker than the others behind so not much happened in most of the laps. Could have done better with the Qualifying time too.

I qualified third at Alsace this morning. Not too bad, with room to improve. Then I see the race lineup.....Turismo_Lester is on pole. Oh well. I managed to get second place, "only" 8 seconds back. He must not have been trying since his fast lap was only 2 seconds better than mine.

I'm not a fan of the matching when I get past 25,000 DR and over 90 SR. He was the only A+/S while the rest of us were B/S down to D/S. I'd have perhaps double the number of race wins except for that lone alien that shows up on pole.

Well, had my first major DR / SR reset today :boggled:. Started at Nürburgring GP as a high A / S and it took five races to find myself in B / C. Got one penalty after a big mistake of my own, the rest was being punted and spun out four times at least in T1. This is no rant post, however, I wanted to ask for a little advice :
How do you guys and girls react when you find yourself in midst of a heated and somewhat unpredictable field ?
And how in the world do you defend T1 on that track ? Help very much appreciated :) !

It depends on which side you start and how the launch goes. I prefer the inside, brake a little early to warn the car behind me, then watch like a hawk for cars cutting in sharp from the left to fit in a space. When someone tries to dive on the further inside, half off track they will get reset. When you get punted from behind you'll unfortunately punt someone else off yet you will be fine without a penalty. Getting rammed at the apex is the part to worry about.

Outside you have to watch for all the dive bombs from behind and if you get punted you're in the sand trap. They may fly by on the inside or hit the car turning in in front of you and form a instant block. Plus people tend to cut you off in the left after T1 when you're on the inside there. T2 is easier to avoid cars and slot in when you're on the outside.

I estimate my success rate for L1 T1 on Nurb at 60% at the inside, 40% on the outside. On average half the time you get hit regardless, more when starting mid pack.

After lap 1 I prefer the outside. If they are next to me on the way to T1 I brake early and let them go first and take the better corner exit to pass them in T2. If they dive, wait to turn in and again got for a better corner exit. If they brake perfect on the inside, draft them and pass them later or not. Anything better than spinning out or getting a penalty from a dive bomb.

A sprint race is usually reckless. Add a T1 bottleneck and the mood is set for a messy race. Plus it's a long weekend in Canada. Lots of Canadian kiddies causing trouble :)

Good hints!! Dude! :)

Still, nothing beats dead start at GP in one-makes.. I'll never forget that carnage asst T1 where I literally had to full stop before the turn and wait few seconds because there was 15 cars piled up in it :D

Well sounds like today is having a few issues so I might well just skip racing after work as I am somewhat tired and that's
never a good thing for me when playing GT Sport so livery design/publishing it is for tonight!

after being reset from A/S to B/C in one race and losing 15K DR I started the climb back...hopefully it won't be a long journey, don't want to get to the point where I become really picky about my races, but if this penalty system keeps working as it is - I'll have to.

I have done QT for today but I'm well off the pace with 4 seconds difference to the leaderboards so not sure I will actually enter any of them after work, what's the general times people are getting for today's races?
Within 2 seconds of the top 10 is already top DR B level. You are low level C. So 4 seconds is enough to start racing. Because of your DR level there is no reason not to race. You will not lose much and can gain a lot. Maybe post some clip about you driving so we can give some comments ?

How do you guys and girls react when you find yourself in midst of a heated and somewhat unpredictable field ?
Run ! Just run ! Seriously, if you can stay calm, just try to finish the race and keep the losses to a minimum. I always think after a bad race which is not my fault that it has happened before and I am still loving the game and coming back to play. Most of the times I am surprised that my DR drop is not as much as I was afraid of. I lose less DR so there really is no need to be upset. I focus on finishing and maybe regaining some lost positions.

Just out of curiosity... what's the "sport mode performances" measure?
You mean the DR levels ?

Another supercut of my race. Rather eventful 2min 24 sec video.
Have to say at 1:16 you did not much wrong, but he surely would blame you for it as it seemed you just slammed him of the track. So it was payback time.

Like to just show highlights of my races hate watching anything over 5 minutes
I have to admit brilliant to watch. Cannot expect from every poster to do this, but at the end I keep watching your clips and do not watch long uncut clips. So keep em comin’ !

Thanks for the input. I feel its easier to save the race, then record the bits that are interesting. Then put it all on sharefactor in on big video abd upload to Youtube.

As if nothing ever happened:)
After my near death experience, I finished P1, P3 and P4 in the following races. All of them clean. I even got DR positive for the day. Unfortunately, my DR gain increments get smaller and smaller. I feel that I am about to reach my personal plateau soon. I guess I have to find a way to get faster.

Disconnected from network; no problems on my end...had two-and-a-half amazing races at Brands nonetheless.

I will try to upload some video of today's racing overnight as my connection is not good for that while I am actually playing so I will add some links
tomorrow, I don't mind critical feedback if you find faults, I am a very reasonable person and always learn from any comments.

Yes thats what I thought he meant :)

DR levels
E level 0-2.000
D level 2.000-5.000
C level 5.000-10.000
B level 10.000-30.000
A level 30.000-50.000
S level 50.000-75.000 (now A+)

Its amazing how nurb goes from having the Mazda6 as best to having the Evo later on. No mazda's on show.

Also Sport Mode Syndrome is strong in the field tonight.

I have to quote myself for this reaction.

How understandable it may seem, but most people are looking totally wrong at the system. The DR points (up to 75000) by all means are not intended as a ranking system. Although people understandably look at it that way because of kudosprime and all the stats.

The existence of DR is only to put you next to similar skilled drivers. Nothing more. That is the reason why PD is not showing the DR points one acquires. If you look at it by gaining DR and getting better you are not using the system as intended.

Having said that: improving yourself is always a good thing. But you get my point.

It depends ...

Thank you Sven, experience from almost 3000 races 👍.
That was my black Monday. Tried every line, didn't matter. I guess approaching T1 on the ultimate right is safest, it's just nuts though if you have to do it that way. I'd wish everybody was patient enough to just let the race begin in the first line when the first corners are that risky.
Gotta work my way up again now, c'est la vie, right  ?

I get your point and I like PD`s intentions. The problem is I know myself. The moment I'm not competitive enough to get consistent finishes in the top third I lose interest. This hasn't happened yet and I want to push that moment back as far back as possible by getting faster. Unfortunately, that point will come eventually.

There are still tricks to be at a better DR rating than you actually are. I am in the DR 30.000-33.000. I am not a better driver. Still I managed to get a (to me) whopping 37.500 points. Just because I know on which tracks I am almost as good as the top drivers. If I see that track I am there and can gain DR.

But thats just kidding myself being better than I actually am. I’m only human ;)

I have asked for a rule that you cannot pass the first 3 corners. This would solve a lot of problems in sportmode.

True. First race had Atenza and Evo. After that, a mixed bag of cars in my races. Seems people are driving what's comfortable.

The M4 and RC F have excellent power, but horrible on the brakes. I was braking way later and better front grip than those. Mean NG, I can carry more speed into corners. But the M4 can pull.

Another thing I noted, many don't use TC. People are busy trying to gather their cars on corner exit. I leave the 86 on TC3. Maybe because it's a 4T and doesn't have the torque like the bigger engines. I nail the throttle with no waiting. It's still speedy though.

A Citroen was a bit pesky. Thought it would get me on the straights. Nope.
Mustangs(I was tempted to bring one out) didn't fair well either.
Corvette looked good.
Back to those awd sedans. They were nowhere.

Im having trouble finding the right car for auto gears. Think Hyundai is best for me.

I can't race every day, mostly I'm happy to race once a week. So I've picked my races for a long time and did pretty good that way. However that's no perspective for the future. Hope today didn't discourage me too much .

Ending up on Brand's at p5-p10 surrounded by B/A B/B Spaniards is like spinning the wheel of luck, except every option is a loss ..

I went out of my way to let them pass at every occasion, but no, it's not enough, better to sideswipe me for some penalty.

It's pure miracle how i didn't end up dead last really, 5 quit and I just followed our favorite buddies while they broom everything in their way, ended 12th, didn't wanna risk getting anywhere close..

Lost 700Dr in 2 races, but got 10Sr, so that's something..
