Had a race at Interlagos yesterday in the Renault RS, 20 cars lined up, I set fast lap and won!!!! Everyone else, that is19 cars were apparently disconnected between the final line up screen and actual starting grid screen, I was the only one on the grid. Anyone else ever see that before, it was an SR race, it showed everyone else with an SR E at the finish results screen.

Yep, had that once before

I had my toughest victory yet, a hard fought battle for first place, a real nail biter

Clean race bonus as well, I think I cracked the new penalty system!

For some reason my DR remained unchanged after the race :p

I did not see any others in the result screen, did you get DR after the race from all the dnf?

I'm saying it now. Dragon Trail Gardens is a **** track. And one-makes are completely pointless, but I guess it will do.

Actually that's harsh. It isn't **** but it is very awkward to drive and therefore just not fun to race at.

Disagree. i reakon it's the best of the fake tracks. Not too long, every corner means something, multiple lines in some sections and no obvious bottle neck or booby trap corner like the 3rd Seaside chicane.

Only issue with it is morons think you can pass in the esses, you can't, it's one line ... ONE LINE, passing in that zone ends badly. Yes, i am slow there so stick with me and get me on the exit of the final S 'cos i am slow there as a result of being poor through the esses. Don't try and pas sme mid-S.

You mean the sharp esses at the start not the faster ones at the end of the lap, right?

The starting esses are tough but remember (or notice if you didn't) the last left onto the straight is slightly banked. With the right line you can take it flat out in 3rd and that gives you a massive amount of momentum down the straight

No at the end. I have trouble getting the car on the right line and still carrying speed, especially the left that then swings right.

Had a lot of fun today at Monza.
I always managed to survive at turn 1 by staying on the inside. I was probably lucky not to find kamikaze.

I've always found that to be a risky strategy in my races. Taking the inside puts you on the outside for the exit, and that's where people push you off into the sand trap, and just as you are about to extricate yourself , you get respawned, loosing time. I try to have my exit near the orange sausage. The downside to that is if you get on the orange sausage, you spin out .

Had some good racing today to try and get my SR back... (Posted my best race pic below)
However, in one of the races I had a guy hit me and then pass me and he got a penalty flag. He continued to drive with the flag and I followed him into goal and his penalty flag did not go off and in the time table it showed no red dot ... He clearly got a penalty but it never affected him.
(Shevchenko03) Anyone seen that before ?

Love DTG. One of GT's all time greats.

The first esses, scrub off loads of speed. Try the highest gear you can take that in. Don't need much engine braking for it. The right balance of the car will set you up for the middle of the esses.
Depending on car, you can nearly flick the steering from right to left before the last corner to exit.

I CANT GET OUT OF SR B. I KEEP GETTING PENALTIES FOR INCIDENTS THAT AREN'T MY FAULT

CLIP:

So, in the first clip, a white car turns left into me. He bounces off me, hits another car and hits me again. I'm hit with a three second penalty even though I never changed my vector.

In clip two we see a Corvette and Mustang racing. The Corvette pushes the Mustang off track and receives a penalty. One would assume the Corvette got 10s for that penalty, yes? We'll find out at the end of the race.

In the third clip, I attempt to pass the Corvette. He pushes me off track, and the game does not say whether he is penalized at the bottom of the screen.

In the fourth clip, he slams his brakes right before the finish, and bleeds off likely a second or two. In my mind he should still have like 8 seconds left. Nope. 2. He doesn't lose a grid spot, but I do. This is ridiculous. I got penalties like this last night and now tonight. I can't get out of Sr B.

My Sr fell from this race by 5 points. This is ludicrous. I am beyond livid!

Same here.... been stuck in SR B for over a week. I’m startingvfacesvin the back just fooling around now. Losing massive SR points

Monza is an old favorite of mine and luckily didn't disappoint. 2 wins with the second one taking me to 260 wins

The best way to win as well, only a minor drop in T1, fun battles along the way, the only one without a penalty in the room plus clean race bonus.

Of course not all races were like that. Besides looking out for those that ask for a clean race at the start, also beware of those that tell the room to use the brakes for T1. One "Use your damn brakes" guy promptly hit me in T1 and caused a chain reaction. Luckily no penalty for me and the rest of the race went well.

Next race he starts behind me again. I avoid him while he forces a way through on the outside in T1, yet he causes a mess again with lots of ghosting going on, the race continues. Then he positions his car in a stupid way at the second chicane, more chaos. Now he screws up another car that in turn drops beside me in Prima Lesmo on my outside, who of course turns in on me while I'm driving as far to the inside as possible. The penalty system interprets it as a bump pass on my side and gives me a 10 sec penalty ugh.

I catch back up and stay behind him for the next 3 laps while he's messing with 2 other cars in front of me. I'm not getting anywhere near that with 10 sec on the clock and decide to pit early in lap 4 to get away from the penalty train. I serve my penalty after the pit but leave 0.5 sec on the clock as a decoy. That turned out to be the best decision yet.

I catch up with him near the end and pass him into 3rd place. Then Mr "Use your damn brakes" tries to bump me off in the last lap in T1.

Yet since we both have a penalty the game won't allow it. He slides halfway into my car, so close the rear view mirror clips him out and he briefly overtakes me, yet he only manages to screw up his own exit. At the end I don't even have to serve the rest of my penalty, already 1.5 sec ahead. However I could have easily made second without the penalty and contest first place without all the waiting, plus for that one penalty I got a red rating and lost my clean streak. It was only a tiny drop to 98 SR, still looks just as bad in the result screen. Someone else was complaining about his driving as well, he quickly left the room, I reported him. It won't help, just beware of those that shout the loudest about not ramming in T1!

Well, here we have confirmation that @Zkippe ’s find is reliable

@TheGeologist , as there is no "feel for you" button, just "like" (which is inappropriate in this context), I reply. Nothing much I can add to this besides I am quite unhappy to see these things not once, not twice... This is how it works. In my vocabulary this is the unfinished, faulty system, but I've learned here that there are satisfied players also. So we take it as is.
I could be surprised by the FIA logo in hundreds of races and results affected by this... if I never heard of the connection between sport and business (huh, finally I found the proper word instead of corruption.)
So, never mind, just find your passion in driving and try to have a good time. Either by learning the cheap tricks using the weaknesses of the system, or just lapping for your own amusement letting the "champions" go away. Depends on your habit and the time you can spend on it. :)

The problem is sometimes you get in matches where everything goes wrong. And the things you feel also applies to you where other drivers are thinking exact the same about your driving style. Best is to forget those races. But also to try not to lose yourself in doing exactly the same thing that you hate so much. Dont lose yourself next time like this:
Some people need to be taught a lesson though...

Well I took a few hours out on my day off yesterday but came back to Race B in the later part of the evening and got
my SR back up to 90/99 and my DR is up to 8576 but had my first big "oops" which I apologised for as punted a fellow
Lambo Huracan off the track in turn 4 at Dragon Tail Gardens as he was behind a slow Audi and then ended up getting
dropped down to 12th in the order while I finished 5th.

Super Miku needs to curb her enthusiasm for Dragon Tail Gardens.

Today's selection I will probably stick to Race C as I think that should be the best way to try and get back up to DR B
my biggest problem will be keeping focus and trying to stay at that level.

Again I have become haunted by the understeer glitch. Was doing race C with the Lexus when on one of the left hairpins my car just wouldn’t turn. I lost two positions because my car just fell off line, even after I had reduced the speed excessively it just plowed to the outside grass. Between this glitch, the penalty system, the terrible races and the persistent BSOD I think I’ve had enough of PD’s incompetence.
