The problem still exists. It was a temporary fix. After a couple races, I still had to press down on the left stick and the steering would give more left hand lock.
I bought a new GT Sport special edition controller the next day. Paid $90, but I'm happy for now.

Good luck with the new controller. Hope it works for you!

Well trying le mans gr1 qually and I am getting penalties if my inner wheels are on the rumble strip...anyone else? I think they changed the penalty system a little

I haven't looked at the new update yet. So they did bring back Circuit de la Sarthe. Neato! the only down side is that I'm going to have to re-learn the track.....without using my cheats from GT4... like barrelling through the chicanes with enough velocity to float on the sand .

todays gr1 dailys aren't about the fastest guy, its about who tiptoes better around the track without getting a penalty. even if your car's "aura" is sensed by the curbs, instant penalty :banghead:

Great, I always have to train myself to use the curbs as I naturally avoid them. Even tighter track limits than Monza then, my kind of track :)
My internet was out last night, now I still have to download the update so no quick morning race unfortunately. Tonight!

So that means the final chicane is actually a chicane now? I always felt like a tool in GT5 for not jumping over them like everyone else. And I assume it resets you if you ignore the fast chicanes on the straight and navigate through the barriers. Le Mans was the ultimate shortcut track in GT5.

Is racing any good on Le Mans or am I going to find it boring?

I'd imagine that if you like technical chicane work and maximizing exit speeds that Le Mans is great. Some people don't like that stuff.

Unless I missed it can someone tell me what vehicle is down for the one make daily race at Northern Isle Speedway today.

Still the Renault Clio or something else?

Really? I thought the last part of La Sarthe is more about maintaining your speed through the corners

I personally just don't like La Sarthe because I can't get a feel of its flow

The only time I hated La Sarthe on GT6 was when I would accidentally leave my suspension too stiff and on a DS4 with no steering aids, it can get very rattled and unstable heading towards Mulsanne.

yep... sometimes you could loose the car control on that part.. easily...

They have already added the ability to restrict entry to dailys by DR and SR, now they have this registration crap with age .. not sure I'm too happy with where this is heading :scared:.

They had that on there from the start though?

It’s probably only to make registration into live events etc easier, can’t see it will affect the game at all

Well new update is here, fixed the disconnects? Nope 1st race at Le Mans get to lap 2 get booted. Try to do race B, can't connect to maps server?
New content is all well and good but how about fixing the existing game? Anyone else getting issues?

As the game has a PEGI 7 rating. The registration thing should not affect sport mode ages. As Venster said, it is more likely to do with official competotion and events.

The update went fast so I managed to squeeze one race in this morning in the r92cp. No time for practice or a qualifying round, start one before last. It's good to be back in that car on that track! It's a bit weird to race against the 919 though. They shoot out of corners then crawl on the straight, turning it into a game of leapfrog. Unfortunately there are a lot more corners than straights so the 919's ended on top.

Fun track to drive, too bad there's no GR.C for the new cars. I had no problems with the track limits yet still ended up with a 1 sec penalty from a 919 rear ending me. More racing tonight!

Interlagos continues to love me as much as I love it. Got four poles and two wins last night to put my win total at 26 and put my poles up to 16.

Of my 26 sport mode wins, 18 have come at Interlagos. (69.23% of my total wins).

Interlagos Wins

Gr1 - 2
Gr2 - 0
Gr3 - 7
Gr4 - 7
GrB - N/A (There hasn't been an event for this yet)
GrX one make races - 2
GrN one make races - 0

So far we have only seen Gr2 in a FiA race. Hoping it will be a daily race soon so I can extend my different group wins.

--

Overall wins

Gr1 - 3
Gr2 - 1
Gr3 - 10
Gr4 - 8
GrB - 0
GrX - 2
GrN - 2

MUHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA! Now I only need wins in GrB and GrN to have won in every series at Interlagos :gtpflag:

That Le Mans race was to be frank 🤬 🤬. Waited to do it all day for nothing.

Is it me or is it too early to complain about the penalties at this iconic track? Could it be possible that the penalties will finally promote clean racing, and keep the 🤬 from doing dumb 🤬 and ruining people's races :scared:? I sure hope so :D.

EDIT: Just trying to look at it from another perspective.

Well, the penalties aren't to do with contact, but just track limits, so it doesn't affect anything to do with ruining other people's races.

They are not only incredibly strict in places they don't need to be, but also inconsistant in certain areas. In some places, running wide doesn't get penalties. Other times, just having half the car on the kerb gives you 1.5s penalty, even if you lose time.

I'd almost prefer it to be consistently strict then so inconsistent and poorly done

Understood. I wasn't thinking along the lines if contact though. I was wondering if the tighter track limits would keep people from trying to take too great of a risk in fear of knowing that if they go off track even a little bit they would get said penalty.

The limits are kinda weird on some spots, can't really decide where to go for it and where to grandma-run it.

Edit:
Decided to run Interlagos instead, miraculously survived T1 (started P14) , Christmas tree ahead. Made it to P8 till last lap doing my best to avoid rammers, but one tries to swipe me off at finish straight on last lap. Ghosts out instead

had a good few runs in race C, enjoyed the challenge of the 92CP, *but* I borrowed my friends G29 and I'm just so massively off my own pace, nevermind a decent race pace, I am struggling so badly getting adjusted to it, I've probably got 6 hours on it now and I'm constantly understeering like a boat :(

Try the licenses and circuit experiences again and that may help. Also, increase the steering sensitivity for sure, like, 6 or 7. I think the default is far too low

The only turn at Le Mans I'm having issues with penalty-wise is Indianapolis, the left-hander.

It feels like I can't go past halfway across the track on the exit without getting a penalty. Has anyone worked this turn out???

It's no surprise, g29 behaves very weird in GTS, way worse than Thrustmaster. Works great in other games..
