I've been doing motion steering since day 1. I think I just maybe a little too conservative around certain corners. So far I can drive pretty well with TCS at 1 (I used to always have it on 3). Depends on the car though. Group 2 I constantly spin without it on.
One last thing, after i set a reasonable time or I get some laps in and find my way around the track, I also watch the top times replay for the same car I use and try to match their gear selection through corners and brake points. This is usually good for another 0.5sec off my quali

I just discovered the other day that I could do this. Thanks for the tips.

Quick question and this is open to anyone reading t his, but what settings do you have on your controller? like sensitivity and feedback, etc.. Maybe I have the throttle (joystick) set to be too sensitive or something.

I have the default buttons settings, but i crank my sensitivity up to 7. It seems to respond quicker this way. FFB is cranked up too because it only gives the rumble.
Snap overtsteer is harsh in this game because it isnt progressive and just happens out of no where with no hope of recovery. That being said, the GR 3-1 cars need careful throttle application on corner exit. Make sure you wait until the wheels point straight to give it full throttle. this will make it feel like you are REALLY holding off on the throttle when you apply it so slowly but in fact you arent. It will be much faster this way. For instance, the hairpin at suzuka, you have to wait until you are pointed completely straight to apply more than half throttle or else you spin. This is perfect corner to practice this on.
Gr 3 and Gr 2 take time to get used to because they have a ton of downforce at speed and almost no traction at slow speeds which causes problems when accelerating without much traction and so much power. I usually have a hell of a time switch from Gr 4 to either these groups because of this throttle problem. Just practice and it will come

Do you guys feel that the track limit of Nurburgring GP (today race B) is adjusted?

For the T4 right turn, I can still cut the apex aggressively (only two left wheels on track) but cannot accelerate out as wide as before. Go wide on T4 will have >1s penalty now.

Bathurst ... The track was slippy compared to qualifying.

I noticed this as well even when doing qualifying in the Ferrari, maybe it was the track temp at that TOD.

I really wish PD would move to using RS tires for the daily races, or let us pick tire compound on Race C. Some tracks + MR Gr.3 cars just feel like there's very little grip happening when using RH tires. I think it would probably result in cleaner races as well on tight tracks like Bathurst.

For me every daily C track is like driving on ice compared to qualifying.

Not sure how does that compute, but that's how it is for me.

I give up with this rating crap...... S driver getting wreckt back to c and without driving like a grandpa i cant get back to s because all of the idiots.....

I am just going to race and forget about the whole system.

That is the best way to race. Going down the sportsmanship ranks. There are lot of players who race fair. Guessing some are in the same boat.

Might just make my race suit and helmet Hi-vise.

Well, I don't make this stuff up. I got caught out at T1. I put my hand up for sleeping, but stay til the end if you dare.

You heathen. Taking away his win like that. Seriously though you would have won anyway given the gap and the penalty. For hi vis suit I use colour 19/100/100. Can also get you a hi vis car (but only in Gr.3 at the moment).

Holy cow, Race B is dirty today!!!!
I thought Nürburgring was mainly clean? But this....wow! Divebombing Lancer/Megane scrubs all over the place.
Had 3 clean races in a row (Don't know how though, I got rammed from all angles) and one race with a 3 Sec penalty. Guess what....I lost SR instead of gaining some after 3 clean race bonuses. GG PD 🤬

Because tyre wear is off for qualifying, and it's on in the online Race C room...
Yeah but in first 100m of the race? Not even warm F1 slicks get wrecked that fast, and we're racing on hard which are more durable.

NGP mainly clean?
I think you've been racing in some parallel universe where us unlucky sods couldn't enter :D

From what I understood, you can get clean bonus as long as you stay on track and get no penalties, contacts still reduce sr however.
They seemed to have reduced the amount of sr gained by clean race bonus.

YES!!! I don't understand why they make us use hard tires.

Yes lots of SR lost on Race B today, seems lots of "Mr Kamikaze the pilot" into turn 1 with the Lancer and Megane Trophy today, hoping it's
improved a bit for when I come back on in about 2 hours.

PD don't seem to have given much to the track locations since this is now day 2 of the Nubrugring GP albeit with Grp3 instead of Grp2.

I think so too. I used to go way wider than that without getting a penalty.

I don't get how anyone can be able to run decent lap times like that leader and simultaneously be so clueless as to try to block a pass at the finish with a penalty already being the deciding factor.

I got a better start with your suggestion, but I still don't understand if I'm supposed to have full throttle while the game gives you the count down with NO brake applied (i.e. no brake at all) or if I have my brake applied and release the brake under full throttle when the count down completes. That is the process I'm using and I seem to get a late start every time.
So in effect, I use a start sequence that you would use in real life. Brake applied and reach optimal RPM and then release.
Cool!
TC1 and Wide open throttle with no brake while the countdown happens. When the race starts watch your tachometer, the Rpm will decrease at first then start climbing. Immediately after the the RPM starts climbing switch TCS back to 0 and keep thrttle wide open. I made 1-2 positions every start using this method.
Yep. What he said.

One of my races, a yellow TT was way off the track to the left at T1 all race, with no penalty.

 I actually did a Michael Jordan fist pump in the air.

The slowing down before I came alongside, was suspect. I didn't try a switchback because I thought he would brake check, for me to get a penalty. As well as try to squeeze me into the wall, like another player did, from a different race I posted.

I lowered my DR to B yesterday since Suzaka was so dirty earlier it became impossible to have a race. After 2 races my SR had dropped to B. Racing as DR.B is much better. I'm hovering around 28K DR, pitting in lap 7 when I got too close to DR.A, and it's bliss not getting penalties for other's mistakes or dive bombs. Sure there is still the occasional misjudged penalty yet it was very easy to get back to SR.S in DR.B in those dirty races. Got a clean streak going at the end as well.

Today on Mount Ramarama it paid off again. In one race I got bumped from behind no less than 6 times, bump passed on T1 and driven into the wall on the mountain section. Not a single penalty for all that! Despite no SR Downs, I did lose 5 SR in that race. The 2 cars that were bumping into me stayed blue, 2 vs 1 I guess. However had I been DR.A that race would have dropped me to SR.A or lower with a bunch of penalties. The only penalty I got was getting bumped into the one little 'shortcut' at the start of the downhill, too close to the wall. And someone crashing and bouncing off me. Yet so much better than driving as DR.A.

So for now, I won't bother with qaulifying, have fun races making up plenty places and not worry about getting hit from behind anymore. The worst that can happen is getting promoted to DR.A again. Matchmaking is exactly the same anyway, same familiar faces. A+/S to D/S rooms.

Sounds like my experiences in DR B. As long as I give people space and don't run them off of the course I'm relatively impervious to penalties. It's crazy being ping ponged through the ringer to come out the other end without a penalty, while everyone else is blinking red around you. The downside is that you can get away with barge passing to the inside and they'll get penalized for touching you if they do it after you're side by side. I don't exploit that trick though.

I was just done exactly that, twice. Seriously considering downdrading my ratings to around C/B as the racing is sensible there, B/S is full of "I'm faster than you so I'm entitled to pass no matter what" people. If they were faster they probably wouldn't be behind me to begin with.

Litchi you appear to be currently 7th fastest in Europe so I will definitely take any advice you give me. 👍
I improved a bit, I'm now 5th :D

So I have a possible noob question but I kinda need an answer.

If I mess up my entry into the pits (Mount Panorama) and the game resets my car is there anyway at all to get back onto
the pit lane entrance road if you are put back on track beyond it?

How badly does a rage quit affect your DR/SR? My race was already ruined as I couldn't have crawled round the whole lap
anyway...
