This past week has been rough for me in Sport Mode.

At first, things were going well, I had visited SR-A for the first time since making SR-S some time ago. It wasn't too bad and I was actually having cleaner races there then in the SR-S lobbies.

Built my DR back up to around 37k which is where I have been peaking, and my SR was back to 95-99. I was loving the Civic at Maggiore East. 9 races there, 9 top 5 finishes, 4 wins, 4 poles. 5 races at Le Sarthe, 4 top 5 finishes, 1 pole and 1 win. Ended that day feeling great, like I had accomplished something after having a couple bad days where I lost some significant DR/SR.

Signed on yesterday, decided to try the Daily B at NurbGP Gr.4. I've always enjoyed this track, but I'm not particularly fast there, I just usually do alright because I'm consistent and don't crash. Well, a few races and several Turn1 massacres later, I'm at SR-B and now starting in the top 3-5 because I'm racing with mostly B, C and D rated drivers. Lately, this is where I've been gaining my SR because I haven't been able to get many clean races in SR-S lobbies. Well, NurbGP is not the track for that, since I couldn't seem to make it out of the first few turns without the entire field landing on top of me at seemingly full speed. No matter how careful I tried to be, 4 out of 5 races I end up in the sand or stay on track with 10s or more of penalty time.

It didn't take me long to get a DR reset to DR.B because my SR got bumped down to C. At this point I'm pissed. I mean, I did make some mistakes myself and served those penalties accordingly, but most of the time I got a reduction in SR it was either me getting rear ended, me tapping somebody from behind who was losing control and wasn't properly ghosted at the right time, or other things I simply could not control.

Now I'm fed up with NurbGP and low SR drivers, so I head over to Suzuka for the Honda Civic Race. I'm pretty good with this car, so I was put on pole or top 3 every race. First race there, I get completely dive bombed in T1 but it doesn't push me off track because I saw it coming. Rammed about 20 times through the esses on lap 1 by the guy behind me whose qualy was slower...he was using me for brakes. I let him and the guy behind him go ahead and watched them battle for 2 laps without passing even though I could have tried. Eventually the dirty driver wins the battle by being dirty and the other guy falls back....I catch up and overtake for P1 and maintain a 2-3s gap through the rest of the race up until the final chicane.....and guess what happens? He punts me straight into the wall right in front of the chicane. I get stuck in the sand, head towards the finish, the guy who was in 3rd takes 1st, the dirty driver brake checks me right before the finish to serve his penalties, I ram him and push him across the line, I take 2nd, he takes 3rd with +7s penalties. I raced a clean race myself except for that ram at the end, took another major SR hit and get demoted AGAIN to DR.C and my SR is basically non-existent at this point.

So now my DR is like 7000 and SR is garbage. I'm normally an A/S or A/A driver with around 35-38k DR. Yeah, I had some bad races and a bad week overall, despite gaining a bunch of wins and clean races, and I normally appreciate the penalty system and am glad it exists....but this has gotten ridiculous. PD needs to get better at assigning blame to collisions. And also the weighting seems off. It's weird that I can race 3 clean laps out of 4, have some people hit me on the last lap, and get an SR reduction.

Oh well, catch me in the lower level lobbies for the next few weeks trying to grind some DR/SR to get back to a level that is reasonable for good races. I see more easy wins and podiums in my near future. I'll be racing at DT Gardens and Maggiore tonight.

My no qualifying race schedule from rainy Saturday. (Times are 1 hour off)
QkPc.jpg

I managed to squeeze in 18 races with the Corvette and Porsche (2 disconnects, marked as finished 0)
Started at SR 41, first race was chaotic, then disconnect, then at 99 3 races later as Brand's hatch was worth a whopping 23 SR per race.
DR pretty much the same as when I started despite the 1.5k disconnect loss. I love Brand's hatch!!

Nordschleife today, I wonder if I'll be able to hang on to SR.S. I'm guess one contact at A/S is already a red rating, challenge accepted. (I failed the challenge at Alsace hence I was down to SR.41)

First race is about the start! :)

Started 7th despite not qualifying, scary having only driven the car once before on Suzuka. It starts fine, I attempt to overtake #6 on the first straight and when I'm fully alongside he starts pushing me off into the wall. He gets the penalty and ends up in the sand at the bottom of the hill, miracles do happen. I drop a place to another car while trying to get back off the grass, yet he crashes later. Then I have a weird game of chicken trying to let a car behind me pass. He keeps switching lines as I'm trying to move over for him so he ends up hitting me anyway. Not a smart place to attempt to overtake. No penalty again for me!

I finish 6th, blue S, survived the first run. Bit disappointed it's only 7.5 minutes, I guess I'll get plenty other stuff done in between.

Second race, start 6th, 7 people didn't qualify...

Had a miracle qualifying lap going at nurburgring in the civic and my 4yo decides to walk over and sit next to me while playing on his tablet. Don't know what it is but anytime he does this my DS4 goes rogue and i lose all control of the car and go flying off the track full throttle bouncing from wall to wall. Lap destroyed. If I move away from him and sit on the floor next to the tv and ps4 I can regain control and keep going which I've had to do when it happens in a race. It's the weirdest thing though and adds a bit of chaos and drama to my gtsport time whenever the kid, or as I call him when im playing gtsport 'the berserker' comes over to watch. Maybe santa 'the wife' will get me a proper wheel this Christmas and i won't have to deal with this anymore.

If you do happen to be near me in a daily race though and i start acting crazy and driving like it's a burnout game just remember its not me, it's not lag, it's the berserker. I apologize in advance. This is also why most of my online time is at night when the berserker is asleep haha.

Last race for the night/morning. Race C. I qualified with the NSX and even though I might have gotten a better time with the Viper, I decided for race C I'd go with known stability. Started in P9/17. Would have preferred P8 or above, but like liver lips says "You can't always get what you want.". The grid was mostly DR/Ds with a few DR/As and a few DR/Bs thrown in. I was the only C. I was having a Jan moment "Marcia Marcia Marcia!".

The race is a go and T1 was chaotic as usual. I managed to pick a line that had me in the middle and exited on the inside. It was like slow motion and a Viper managed to get away before me. The Viper and I exchanged places a few times for a couple of laps, but he was generally quicker. Coming in to the turn at the bottom of the hill he was next to me and slightly ahead on the outside. Rather than knock him off I braked a bit earlier and tucked in behind. That was enough of a push for him to open up a 3s gap and that's how it stayed till he pitted.

I got pushed aside and nearly knocked off the track a few times by people who pretended that I wasn't there and come hell or high water, they were going to drive their chosen line regardless of what might already be occupying that space :scared:. Pitted with 2 laps to go, and changed tyres, because for the last two laps I was loosing time from tyre degradation. As 05XR8 pointed out, you could do a no stop with the NSX, but I'm not smooth enough to make the tyres last :dunce:. I finished where I started, P9.

SR back up to 99 ! Must have beaten a DR/A or B because I gained DR. Nice bonus :dopey:. Another day visiting DR/C :D.

Wednesday... Race.B... N300 (no mention of one make)

Does this mean free choice car with tuning???? (or will there be a bop on N300 cars??)

I also noticed this. I assume that it'll be BoP / no tuning.
Going to re-check the link 👍

EDIT: BoP on | No tuning

Well not much racing for me this week unless the One Make cars provide something I like.

The Wednesday N300 race looks interesting, might have to see what cars I have from that class.

Any ideas what car might be the one make race on Friday on Tokyo Expressway Outerloop?

Thinking it has to be something Japanese so maybe GT-R/Skyline or Toyota car?

Cleaning up at Race A today, 4 wins already.

Pro Tip, its grid start, so launch in 1st with TCS on, then switch it off and let 2nd ride.

OK guys, I've updated the Daily Races Calendar for next week :gtpflag:

Thanks!!! I'll be in the fast races.

It must be GR.X at 10 laps, something very fast.

Monday GR.2, 6 laps on a gimped circuit, that will be interesting.
Tuesday GR.2 on Interlagos, even more SR risk.
Nothing for me on Wednesday
Thursday!!!! GR.1 on Brand's 16 laps of pure bliss, SR will be restored on Thursday.
Friday I'm guessing F1500 or Red Bull for 10 laps, bye bye SR.
Saturday!!!!!! N24 in the C7 ofcourse. I hope it rains next Saturday.
Sunday hmm some DT and some Monza I guess. GR.4 is so slow for Monza though.

Nordschleife is fun so far, still raining outside so more races to come. I've been hit and brake checked a couple times, 4 penalties, now down to SR.A. What a difference already, like someone let out the asylum. The sooner I get out of DR.A the better.

Today's race is still visible in "Archives". I'll update "AS", "AM" and "EU" links tomorrow morning 👍
Can't wait for DTG on Wednesday. Shame it can't be on the weekend. I'd pull an all nighter for that track.

Maybe that Nurburgring Live event was a test for this. I'd be happy if we could use any car.

I'm also thinking, when do we see an Alpine A110 2017 One Make? I'd like to try that with real players.

Thanks!!! I'll be in the fast races.

Friday I'm guessing F1500 or Red Bull for 10 laps, bye bye SR.

Could well be, I had not checked the number of laps, most likely the F1500 then or Red Bull X.

Guess it may be time to do some practice with GrpX cars and also kiss goodbye to SR on Friday...

Exactly this Happyend to me yesterday, Need to come back untilgbar wednesday

Why people still think doing abusing some flash can make them faster at 3:00 AM? It just hurt my eyes and make my concentration gone.

Monday BMB/Lago/ pass to me,Tuesday Interlagos, Thursday Brand Hatch

Not so much race again this week eh, I just doesn't quite like GR.4 at this moment. Guess I'll have lot training with Corvette again

Next weeks races (IMO) are trash. Nothing suits my play. Weeks races don't suggest a new track yet.

Strategy for Race C today.....

is it save fuel and no pit?

1-pit no tires?

or full pit gas+tires?

I raced Le Sarthe the other day in the Veyron one-make Race C and I opted for one pit, no tires. I ended up winning one and taking podium in a couple others, but I bet I could have won more with some fuel-saving and no pit.

All I can say is that it's easy to win here with the Mégane Trophy saving fuel just with short shift and no pit

so you don't even have to change your fuel map if you short shift? or fuel map too? if short shifting alone does the trick, that's quite a steal!

man I hate using that car though.

To add, I've used full power in the NSX. If you use it, make sure to nurse the tyres when everyone pits. Avoid anything that would cause you to skid/lock up/hurt the tyres. It's heavier than the Trophy, but has grunt out of corners and the uphills, as well as speed on the straights.

If you're going to pit you may as well grab the tyres, you not losing much lap time towards the end of the stint?
Le Sarthe you can get away with it though because so much of the lap is just getting a good exit on a handful of corners; was it Maggiore GP today?

I guess a lot of it depends how your race goes traffic-wise, but it's usually quicker to one-stop I think.

How does one skip changing tires in the pit stop?

I have never seen a way to skip it so if someone could let me know would be grateful as about to do Race C
at 23:00.

Thanks, can honestly say I never looked at that before the race I'm about to go into.

I had to unlearn spamming x when entering the pits. It does not make the pit go faster but does select tire change straight away!
Goodluck, I'm about to continue with the Nordschleife challenge, up or down who knows.

Sun Jun 24 2018 19:00:42 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time) -> DR:31512 | SR:69/99 | Races:3140

Still DR.A, and thanks to getting penalized for other's mistakes now enjoying SR.A. First up, starting 6th as not qualifying is all the rage on the nord. I'm the only DR.A in the room, prognosis, a little closer to DR.B freedom after this race.

Yeh. I think a lot of people don't do pre-qual first and when they enter, there's less than 8min to the start. There isn't enough time to complete a lap.
