Viper, pug vgt, jag, among a couple of others are pretty good at le mans as well had all into 3.58s and pug to a 57 still fastest in a mustang though with a 56.6 was top 10 for a while but got too late to search out the last second for a 55. The real benefit in the mustang is the gearing in 2,3,4,5 gives so much punch out of the corners and gets to 280 quick the others I mentioned top out at higher speed marginally although I regularly had the pug at 290 plus which is why its pretty good and probably faster if you can carry enough corner speed and get it stopped well in braking zones.

The easiest to drive was definately the viper
 
That was odd. I got a 2.954 sec shortcut penalty on Sarthe out of nowhere, I'm pretty sure I was within the lines. So I save the video clip to check the replay like I always do and the video skips 2 seconds right at that spot.... PD you messing with me??? I've never seen that happen before.
 
Where on the track did it happen. Ive had it after porsche curves where ive seemingly stayed in the lines and then almost to pit entry a penalty pops up
 
It was at Indianapolis where the track limits are (maybe) the faded interrupted lines. They're hard to see so I wanted to check the video. Yet now you mention it I've had unexplained delayed penalties after the Porsche curves as well. I think the last part of it is bugged and now I always make sure to get all 4 wheels inside before that slight S starts before the pit entry. Then you can go wide right up to the sand, as long as you fully re-enter the track again before the S.

And I just got screwed again at the start. The car in front of me spun out, did a 450 degree spin without ghosting, I can't hit the brakes as I have the whole field right behind me, can't avoid, he doesn't ghost, I hit him, get hit from behind, now I'm a spinning top as well and fall from 6th to last.

Too wide left of the kink or too far right? Ive had them for just barely touching that inside kerb before indianapolis and barely half a tyre wrong side of the kerb at the left hander.
Track limits at le mans are very harsh and also pretty poorly defined

Thatsc the thing. I'm not concerned with their speed or whatever advantages some players complain about. It's about those that abuse it and don't know how to use it. They cause more damage in racing.

I've raced against Slophy users that race with courtesy. Yesterday is the perfect example. I always say not to block, this way, we gap the field.
Me and a one stopper Trophy user, we're trading places. I let it go on the entrance to the final turn. I caught it at the back straight.

That player just stayed glued to my bumper from the hairpin, up the hill and not try to pass or slow us by dive bombing. I knew it would get me in the final corner, so I stayed far right and gave it up.

We made it up to 6th and 7th when the leaders pit. I started to slip back a little as cars were catching me. Funny, it started to disappear, but that player was maybe trying to do a clean race as well. Stayed way away from the "racing" cars trying to win after their stops.

Still, the point that people complain at La Sarthe because the "OyVey"ron wins all the time, the Evo wins all the time at other tracks, the Mustang is too fast, etc. Every popular fast car can be beat. From a fast drivers hands to a slow driver. Winning or never winning, have a good race no matter what car others use.

It was probably the first one on the inside as I was giving the car on the outside extra space. That's a problem all over Sarthe, driving side by side is a choice between 2 evils, give the other car a little too much room and you get a short or wide penalty. Give him just a little bit too little and you might make contact. Annoyingly contact is usually the better option, less severe or usually no penalty. Although sometimes you get that 10 sec penalty for slight contact without any consequences.

Despite PD now using a random number generator for a penalty system my day at Sarthe went rather well. Actually at first it seems to be heading towards a repeat of last Saturday where I couldn't keep my head above water, racing on without qualifying, and eventually landed at D/E after 20 races. So after getting slapped with 10 sec penalties in a row in the unruly back field, I gave in and did a qualifying lap between races.

7 wins in total, over 9K DR up, close to 40K, SR 99. Sure there were more faulty penalties, however starting up front meant beating the odds overall. Or rather, getting knocked below 90 SR now meant starting top 3 or even pole, good chance for a win and pretty much guaranteed clean race. Only one of those wins was at SR 99, the 280th one with 6 positions gained. A little quarrel at the front helped.

So there you have it, don't qualify sink to 3000/1 on Sarthe. Do Qualify and drive the meta, rise to 40K/99 with a bunch of wins.

That's why I'm never returning to that track in Sport Mode, unless if it's a one make race. I also hate today's daily race schedule, particularly Interlagos. I found it brutal and unforgiving and had quit that track in Sport Mode forever. The same goes to Kyoto-Yamagiya Reverse. I'm thus boycotting today's schedule, nuff said.

Its just boring if its not a Onemake race but everybody drives the same car.
Yesterday did no quali, started on P19 and ended on P6, with the Lancer. I was one of three others cars that dont are meganes. So i think the megane is not unbelivable faster then the other cars. Dont know why everybody has to drive the 🤬 META Car!
 
I quite like the Gr3 at Lago Maggiore tbh. The track is tricky enough that you can make mistakes, and has enough passing opportunities that against good drivers you probably wont get punted off.

In the race I just did the top 4 cars were BMW M6, VW Beetle, Mazda Atenza and Corvette. All finished within 5 secs of each other, and fastest lap had 0.25 secs between fastest and slowest of the 4(me in the Beetle :)).

I am staying away from Gr4 at the moment though as I think they need to maybe increase the weight of the Meganne Trophy by 1%. Or maybe boost the power by 1% and increase the weight by 2%.
 
Is a 2:00 with no assists a decent(ish) time at Maggiore? I've never really raced the track before. Obviously it's not leaderboard-level or anything but it's the best I could manage in about 5 laps in the Mercedes

That's what happens when you are at S SR but less than 90, you get matched with C or D drivers and any other driver who is not at the top level of S SR (99).

It's an attempt to keep the cleanest players in their own lobbies, at least according to their SR. It helps somewhat reduce the amount of dirty players at SR 90+

Because it held on weekend, But really weekend and holiday give a really big different for matchmaking and race even with same class and rules.

It was nice to "meet" you last night. You should have seen the dirty stuff I was dealing with.

It is unfair to weaker players though, who have to match with far better players. Imagine we have matcbinm based on DR first, SR , then finally qualifying time..

It's also quite unfair to the better drivers where one mistake can mean a DR bleed of over 1000, even if it isn't their fault. I like your idea of DR, SR, and then qualifying time. SR 90+ players can still have our own lobbies separate from every other lobby, but at least base the matchmaking from DR first...

I would expect the best drivers to make less mistakes, so losing more points when making mistakes seems logical and fair to me. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. What’s the worst that can happen anyway. Drop to a lower class and get more wins racing people that are far worse? Doesn’t seem so bad. Call it an ego boost.

T1 carnage and the stuff. The worst thing that can happen is that those players lose their shot at the FiA championships

Don't think there are enough of them, so the next room you can be placed in is the SR S but lower DR room, usually a lot of D drivers.

If your SR get's even lower, like barely S you can then get matched with the guys at SR A instead.

Last night, While waiting for Race B to start, I was kinda wondering the same thing. Here I am, a lousy D DR, yet I'm racing vs A+ drivers.

I always thought that match making should be skill first. And I don't know how much stock I put into SR anyway.

I find it odd that my best days when DR goes up a couple hundred, my SR drops.
