@darth_tails I had no trouble making a one stop for fuel with the Peugeot VGT. Just short shift a bit or get some lift off slipstream behind someone and youre good. Easy 1 stop. If you really struggle on gas you can use fuel mode 2 or 3 during the twisty bit as you are really carrying speed on that section so you dont really need engine power. Thst being said I never needed to use it with the VGT

Second race of the week at Tokyo and got myself into a Peugeot VGT sandwich!

View attachment 766999

Unfortunately the McLaren was just too slow on the straight loosing about 0.5-0.75 Sec with no slipstream. Kind of worrying watching the delta in front growing rather quickly, and the delta behind closing rapidly. Rather comical trying to overtake the Peugeot on the straight; I could get a slipstream, pull alongside, and then just watch the Pug slow pull away. I lost the slipstream after lap 4, but kept it clean to bring it home in 4th.

The driver that won was a fuel saver (had 35% after 5 laps) and also didn't change tyres.

Any ideas on a car that can beat the Pug? Maybe the VW VGT GTI or the Mustang? Not sure how they are on tyres and fuel; maybe something to try tomorrow.
Where are all the Ford GT LM's EMEA is filled with?

If you download GT Companion app to your phone, you can check on there what position you are for each (Daily) race entry - Asia Pacific region for you.
Well I never knew that, thanks. But it isn't possible to find out on my pc or in the game?

Decided to take a break from painting a car with decals before adding actual decals, and qualify with the Veyron. I managed to beat my NSX time from yesterday, entered the race, and struck the "send back to sport mode screen" bug. it's 12:30am so I couldn't be bothered re-starting the game and trying again. Shut down the PS4 and will re-start tomorrow.

Despite the improved time, others in DR/C-D have obviously been putting in some qualifying laps and improved their times too. Last night with slightly slower qualy I was starting P4. Tonight I was slated to start P8.

Did just one Race C last night to try and get my SR rating out of C. Didn't qualify as usual, and started 17th in the Atenza. Pitted end of lap 5 and finished pretty well, I think for a slow down the straight car.

Only one to have a clean race, too!!!

Gained 16 SR points which was nice for a change.

Question, what is it with the matchmaking lately? I was the only A driver on the grid with a A+ on pole. I qualified with a 2.13.5XX with the GT-R (race B). A few B drivers and a lot of C/D drivers, but with an S rating. Is the matchmaking also broken, or is it because less people play Sport Mode since the Weekly Races? Ended up 3rd and only gained 32 DR points. How am i ever gonna be able to climb up when matchmaking is so bad?

I've noticed the same. I'm hovering in the mid DR C and qualifying 4th and 5th with A+, A & B drivers in the first 3 to 4 spots. After that it's all C's. Effectively I'm ending up in two tier races with the first 3 or 4 cars lapping much quicker and the rest fighting for scraps. Unless of course they manage to shove the faster drivers off in T1 before they can escape.:ouch:

It’s the severly lacking in sport mode players, especially worse out of peak times thats seeing lobbies matched weirdly.

I would also guess at because of the poor SR changes, players are staying away. They are still around because the FIA champs are still populated.

In answer to your last question slowly. Its even worse rated A+ in the lobbies won two races today for a grand total of 500pts, its not worth the SR risk.

I think it's a SR thing. I notice as my SR drops I get paired with easier DR players, the opposite applies too.

I have done a lot of races at Bathurst and the grid almost always kinda looks like this ..............

2.13.5 DRa SRb
2.15.5 DRb SRb
2.15.6 DRb SRb
2.15.7 DRb SRb (this is me)
2.16.2 DRb SRb
2.17.5 DRc SRb
2.18.5 DRc SRb
2.18.9 DRc SRb
...... and so on ....

So one absolute demon, a few B/B then a bunch of guys a million miles off the pace.

I Think thats a by product of last weeks bluemoon races. I can only assume there were a lot of sr drops so there are a lot of varying speeds of the same sr level because bathurst is not a forgiving place to try and raise it

Just had a race @ the mountain. P1 was doing a 2.12.8 as racepace...dammm, that's supersonic!!!

Little question: He's a 'Usual Suspect', so anybody a guess who that was?

Got banged up in Race C. Fell to last. I used fuel map 2 for the AMG GT the entire race. Pitted on lap 3 for tyres only. Rejoined a couple places up, due to other cars crashing.

When cars pitted during laps 4&5, I again pitted on lap 7 for a splash 'n dash 0.8 to get me over 3.2laps to the end. Jumped some cars conserving with a Eugeot VGT coming up fast.

Last leg before toll, the VGT passes the car behind me, I got a good exit out of the final turn, but the VGT was coming. Moves to my right, passes me slowly, gets ahead and I hear it's engine cut out at pit entrance. Whoops.

Lack of players and it's getting worse. I had time for a race at lunch time to get presented with this
AdVc.jpg

That's the daily C, only 13 out of 20 to start the race, DR A to D, SR S to B.

I finished 3rd which was nice, didn't check how much DR it was worth.

Lemme guess... Fuvaros's Williams account?

And speaking of Mr. Blaszan, is he going to leave Team Redline because of this?

Disconnection @ matchmaking glitch that PD hasn't fixed in 2+ weeks is probably putting a lot of people off.

Plus the new SR changes are absolutely idiotic

If you loose Sr lets say 99 to 80 even staying in Sr S it will throw you to races where most of racers will be in much lower Dr as you are. Fell to this trap yesterday in FIAs when I was A+ and Sr 99, first race was with my own class but after losing 20 Sr points on that race and going straight to other FIA race with A+ and Sr 81 I found myself in room where was 3 members of my own class and everyone else were Dr B and lower so even came 2nd in that race it costed for me a lot of points because room was too low rated to my skill level and racing was boring too with lapping almost all roster.

So, everytime you wanna race in your truly class, remember to raise SR back to 99 if it has dropped even a bit. Ofcourse there is too races where is not full room because of this bug which throws people out in loading screen and if playing quieter daytimes there just not be enough players to fill room what is sad. And having these flaws/bugs will lower playerbase at sportmode even more. Hopefully they still can keep acceptable playerbase because atleast I like a lot racing 'dailyes' and FIAs.

I knew it was a bad idea to try racing at Bathurst for the first time. I tried it on Tuesday and despite my intention to just safely tour until I had learned the proper racing lines I got whacked a bunch of times and lost about 40 SR in a single shot.

I had a safer experience in race A so I went back there to try and claw it back. Unfortunately as I was now in SRB my 'safer experience' was just a pipe dream. Got consistently shoved around in every race, and through a slow trickle of SR loss ended up in SRC with 33 points.

Not willing to risk a DR reset I then tried Tokyo without qualifying, fuel map 6, and just stayed well behind everyone. Regardless of that, halfway through someone came along behind me and passed without care, putting me in the wall with a 3 second penalty. I thought that was my reset done and dusted, but I still managed to gain about 9 SR points (while losing 1000 DR from a B rating).

I guess this is what I have to do - keep shedding DR until my SR has recovered enough to play for fun. I hate how it's become all about rating management. All because I decided to try and break my Bathurst cherry :/

I guess everyone in Asia is just following the T10 leaderboard. Are the drivers in EMEA qualifying with the Pug but racing with the Ford GT? Am I missing something with the Ford GT?

I don't own a Ford GT and haven't driven the Pug, so would be interested how the two stack up against each other.

A clean race bonus in Race A gave me just 3 SR points. A clean race bonus in Race C gave me 16 SR points. Race C is easier to navigate, and gives much more reward. It's taken me until Wednesday to get outta Race A which is just slow a slog up the SR table.

edit - replying to GTP-to-blue

That's a real shame because I actually really enjoyed the competition around Monza, but it's just not worth it to race there this week.

I set a 1:58.936 for Race C yesterday. I'm not quite satisfied with it though. I really want a 1:57...

My 1:58 lap is still imperfect, with really slight moments of wall touching and lifting here and there, so there's probably another tenth or two in there. But the other 9/10ths... I'll try to spend the weekend looking for it :)

What car are you using by the way?

The first time I ever raced the mountain I got destroyed in a race c.
This morning I was feeling like a race so I went in. Qual was six. It all started on Hells corner when I had a viper in the slip. Now, on lap 1, there, in the slip of the car ahead of me, I am a touch conservative on entry because I want to ensure perfect exit for the climb.
I turn in and clank boom sr down arrow. The viper had rolled in hot and used me as a prevention to going off track.
Ok no matter up the hill, the pack in front of me slowed me down so I got caught by a bulldozing grr who sideswiped me and got no penalty.
At the end of the long straight comin in hot like two cars go off track, and ones a viper mowing the lawn to get back on track. He swerves in front of me and I mean I am like widway through fourth. I assist him getting back to speed with a solid bash in the rear since there was nothing I could do. Had position on him on inside into hells corner but figured he’d prolly not yield or even realize I was there so had to avoid, AGAIN losing exit going up the hill.
Made the pass when he went wide on hill.
Good rest of lap, final lap I am back sixth going up with a Hyundai or something on me. I pull away but get too conservative before the dipper and he catches up. Now he’s all over me going into that left before the straight so I am taking my normal wife as far right as I can get to try to get the exit downhill.
BAM, I get on it trying to stay away from him clip wall and kiss him as he’s going by. Several cars fly by.
I haven’t had a race like that in a while. All bad. It happens.
I will go to the mountain again to redeem myself later. Still 99sr so I have that even after losing several hundred dr due to that debacle.

Another day another Ferrari. It's fun making up 14 positions per race, however everything gets old after a while. So when I reached DR.A I ran a qualifying lap in between races. Barely made it before matching and got awarded with 12th as a starting position... (I started 10th without qualifying earlier in the day) The competition had arrived at the same time.

Thus gone was my luxury of a relaxed T1. Starting 12th, hold on to your seat, take the corner on muscle memory while watching radar, mirror and ghosts in front all at the same time. Then again at the bridge under pass. Without ghosting the race would be pretty much over after the first few turns.

After qualifying my finish position also went down to 8th. That had more to do with racing in prime time, what a difference with that A/S to D/B room in the afternoon. All SR.S, nothing below DR.B
LeVc.jpg

That was the 9pm EST (6pm PST) race.

And it's clear what you should be driving if you want to win at max SR
MeVc.jpg

Making up 4 positions is definitely not as exciting as 14. Although it's actually more than 4 as during prime time I get passed in the pit again by the short shift crew. I guess I should try the Pug, however since I drive AT and already need to drive in FM2 for 3 half laps in the Ferrari I might not get very far with it. From my tests on Panorama the Peugeot used 1.12x more fuel than the Ferrari. Need to draft a lot I guess.

Perhaps it's time for Bathurst instead. I already messed up by pitting in lap 4 by mistake and had to finish a race in fuel map 4 and 5. Perhaps no racing at all tomorrow, big storm is coming!
