Yup. Doing the videos in Portuguese would be a good idea. đź’ˇ

They should be playing every time during the "loading track / waiting for other players" screen.

i'm really getting ****ing sick of those ****** weekly races PD are pulling off , like the nordschleife with N400 cars really? might as well use karts!

Karts are great fun on the Nordschleife! Especially with that strong slip stream effect in GTS.
N400 is better than this weeks N100 and N200. I'll take it.

Fuji will be interesting. Depending on what track limits (if any) there are it can easily turn into one huge mess of different lines crashing into each other. I'll be mostly on the Nordschleife anyway. I prefer narrow tracks.

The last 2 N-Class @ Nordschleife we had were the Civic Type R and the 911 gt3rs.

I Got almost 25 wins between the 2 of them.

I say bring it on. If you're good at the track, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

So Group 2 at Fuji next week is Race C? I was hoping for Group 3 since the M3 GT is "new" to the game, but some Super GT at one of Japan's go to racetracks sounds like a good idea.

Losing so much DR this week, I am mainly doing race B, tried a couple of race A and C but found them both a little dull. Race B should be my thing am reasonable at Brands and like GR 3 but am just inconsistent, seem to always make at least 1 small error at this circuit punishes that, what's quick but easyish to drive? Using the 911 presently.

Best advice is to pick something you are reasonably happy with and just practice. I use the Audi R8 LMS and LOVE Brands, though I learnt the track using other cars you have to basically find a rhythm with it. It's very rewarding when you are comfortable with it because of how easy one mistake is to make and then loose time

how come race is dull ?..i found it the most fun an really engaging

Just gave the Jag a run out as it was just gathering dust in my garage, am down in DR C and was on pole because I had lost so much DR the fields are getting weaker. Got the win, pole and fastest lap in DR C. Would have probably been mid field in a DR B race but just glad to not make a mistake for the duration of the race, a wins a win I guess though, just a shame I had to lose around 5000 point to get into a weak enough race for me to be competitive. Got around 1000 DR back for my win, next race am starting 7th, a fair number of DR B drivers in this one so more chance of getting some DR back if I can keep on the black stuff. On the plus side this is now my 7th consecutive day back in SR S which is good for me, been a fair while since I was up in S prior to this week.

I’m an faster in several cars but using the new M3 for consistency. Even when you do make a minor mistake it’s very easy to get back.

Same. Yesterday I was really off and kept making a mistake in every single race. I didn't hit anyone yet one race I hit a pixel of grass at the wrong spot which the 911 really doesn't like, the next I misjudge my braking point once, correct mid corner and go off. Together with starting last (which is fun) yesterday I dropped to 26k, from 38k last week. I got my groove back later at night ended at 29.2k.

The new BMW is easier to drive. It's probably why I got so inconsistent in the 911. I drove the BMW on Wednesday, then switched back to the 911 yesterday and had to adjust to tip toeing around the edges again. The BMW is much safe on curbs although it has more understeer.

I had a clean streak of 7 on Tuesday, hope to match that again now I'm used to the 911 again. It's harder with the BMW as I need to go a little slower though the high speed curves which tend to get people to bump you from behind, not enough to go off track, just enough for SR Down and bye bye clean streak. The BMW accelerates faster out of the slower corners, the 911 takes the high speed corners faster.

Had one race at Brand Hatch today. Qualified 3rd and would've been happy to finish there as there was a fast Hong Kong guy nearly a second ahead of me on pole with with 1:22.9xx in a Porsche. Anyway race starts and the Porsche driver bins it in the first corner! That left a Ferrari driver in the lead and he was slowly pulling a gap on me. Then on lap 3 or 4 the Ferrari under no pressure runs wide at Sheene's handing me the lead which I held onto until the end. I'm not that proud of the win (or using the Beetle!) but I'll take it!

I decided my luck would run out if I kept on racing, so went off and did the Red Bull ring circuit experience. I won an Alfa Mito for completing it, so yeah, my luck definitely ran out!

Don’t know if it’s even close to meta but I love the Corvette Gr.3 whenever I’m forced to race there in lobbies. Very stable car that not many others use a lot. The BMW is also very easy so it’s a good choice for consistency.

This, 1,0000000000%

I just cannot get a fully clean rac ein. It is a rubbish track for racing too, there's just absolutely nowhere to pass unless someone makes a mistake.

Great car for the track and has the bonus of being rare on the grid (for those who care about such trivial issues...like me). I'm nowhere near as fast as others here, but it's not a meta car for me. It's fast, stable, turns in on slow corners lovely, and my fastest qualifying time car. However in the heat of a race if you turn in too much and put the power down it will have you pointing the wrong direction pretty quick. Vantage is similar to Vette but I feel less likely to kick out on the rear.

Depends on other drivers in the lobby and where you qualify I suppose. I had a few horrible races early in the week but put it down to others being over zealous and also learning the track & car combos. On a very rare day for me I got 6 races in this morning. I killed my DR again this week getting SR back to SR 99. Similar to @Invisigoth I believe, my DR and SR graphs are constantly going in opposite directions and it's a yo-yo graph lately. Low DR D / SR S races in top 5 grid starts were 100% clean. I gained 5,000 DR (with the help of the 2k bump from D to C) and back up to DR C after 4 2nd and 3rd places. Then I find myself with 5,300/5,500 DR points in 8th on grid with DR C drivers and it's a little more choppy with the front runners driving off and the rest pushing for places. DR goes up again to near 6,000 but now I'm 11th on the grid and it's totally nuts. I noticed today that 911 drivers qualify ahead of me but can't keep the car straight in the pressure of a race. One wheel on a kerb or grass and they are off or snaking across the track. Rather than risk passing and getting hit I sit behind and wait for them to fall off the track. Last race I started 11th, watched the carnage unfold ahead and tip toed through the wreckage. I finished 2nd and I don't think I actually made a single overtaking move. The replay looks like something from Taladega Nights.

I'm getting the same thing, my DR points climbed from 7,000 to 26,000 in the past month but SR dropped to anywhere from C to E as I was always in battles.

At Brands though, had quite a few lonely races so SR went up to A (was S yesterday) but DR now down to 23,000.

As for passing, with powerful cars there's just not enough runway to make a clean pass unless the guy ahead screws up, maybe into the first corner is the only place but it's hairy and likely to end in tears. You are seemingly always in a turn at brands.

Hey mate, i was in that one as you said at the finish there were cars going off everywhere...ol mate toiletpaper seems to go off a lot for a fast driver.

You have to set up a pass on Brand's, it takes multiple corners to pass. For example you get right behind in the Graham hill bend, brake early for Surtees to get a better corner exit, draft next to the car in front at Pilgrims drop, not to pass as you'll only get a nose in, yet to force him to defend the inside line for the Hawthorn bend. Undercut him through Hawthorn which gives you the speed advantage and inside line to the Westfield bend. At that point you are side by side and have the advantage. They'll usually back off right there or otherwise for Sheene's.

@NevilleNobody Just don't do what the majority seem to do and try to overtake going down into Graham Hill bend or using the other car to barge your way through at Westfield coz you missed the turn by carrying too much speed; a favourite move for the self righteous A & S drivers.

The thing with Brands is if you are patient, the majority of cars just fall off the track, and you can gain places quickly.

Sven gives good tips above, by the way. Patience is a virtue on Brands!

I am just not stable enough to do that is close quarters, will end in contact.

the penalty system seems more lenient than before , i can manage a blue rating even with 2 orange SR on race B / before it took only one to get a red rating

Practice, practice and more practice. It's a shame the game doesn't have any actual race craft challenges, like marking half the road as off limit for corners, alternating as you go, so you learn how to adjust your driving line on the fly and practice leaving room for other cars.

There are lots of SR points in Race B, so a couple of orange SR notifications don't do much damage.

This is a cautionary tale: Driving like a jerk in GT Sport doesn't absolve you of real-world consequences. I did a race C, this morning, and was doing pretty well. Fast forward to the final hairpin, I got a better corner exit that the black 86 in front of me, and overtook him on the straightaway. On the last curve before the finish line, he knocked me off the track, then quickly exited the post-race screen. :grumpy: Hoping to see him in the next race, I was disappointed, and turned off the console to go make a beer run.

Halfway to the store, my luck took a turn for the better. Imagine my surprise when the same black 86 entered the lane in front of me. :mischievous: I was in a very advantageous position. I was right behind him, and he wouldn't recognize me in my Accord. As we approached the next corner, naturally he slowed, but I floored it. BOOM!!! :ouch: Guess who? Ha ha.

I watched my rear-view all the way to the store, but no sign of him. I coasted the last little ways in the the parking lot to scrub penalties.

On my way back home, I snapped a shot of what karma looks like.

Is the penalty system actually improving??

A bit of an aggressive move, however I was right behind him for over a lap already and after he slipped up in Hawthorn I went for the pass. He did not leave room for me at the apex while I was alongside before turn in. (or maybe he expected me to go via the grass?) He crashed off and I was waiting for the 5 sec penalty to pop up. Not even an SR Down and clean race bonus after. A fluke, or is the penalty system getting smarter?

Edit: Perhaps it's just broken in that corner. In a later race:
5hyPJgN.gif

Car behind sticks a nose in and pit manoeuvres me off the road. He did not get a penalty for that either. He did have a red S at the end, must have done other things.

It depends on the contact. Light contacts that don't result in a time penalty aren't worth much. I had 4 orange SRs per race in two races yet my SR didn't change from 99 and end of race screen listed me with a blue SR. My last race I only saw two orange SRs, the first of which incurred a 4s penalty, and at race end I'd lost 9 SR.

Hmm, either you are faking your location or didn't really see said crash in person, since that shot was very clearly taken here in Aus :p. You can clearly see the school zone sign in the back ground .

Hi m8, good to meet another GT Planet member!

Yeah the Hong Kong driver seem to be a high-risk, high-reward driver. Might be someone's 2nd account (unusual PSN for an HK account?) that they're just "having fun" on, although the driver does have a DR 61000+ points!

If you see a few more kiwi's, especially during the weekday (or other weird times) beware; it's the school holidays now in New Zealand! Young rammers inbound!

I really hate drivers like that. You are forced to take a lower entry into the corner to protect the inside and scrub off lap time because you have some guy behind you that can just get his front bumper beside your rear bumper. If you take your normal line through the corner there is no doubt the guy will spin you into the kitty litter. Drivers like that really need to watch some race video and learn how to race properly.
