Went all in at Brands in the fun to drive m6. B/s. My qual put me at tenth. Judging by times I’m thinking tenth will be a good result.
Timers count down and we are rolling...Nice first 3 laps picked up a spot when a guy went off...Im realizing my race pace is very competitive. So I’m chasing.
Little train goin.
Lap four I made my first off track ever at Brands online. No big just mowed the lawn and lost some time, no spots.
What happened though is this allowed a Porsche to get close at the left hander leading up to the right that takes you onto the main straight and pit lane...
I get good exit so noway he will be able to do anything!
I’m thinking push a bit to get more gap so here I am throwing the beast towards apex and wtf!?
We have a divebomb.
Secondar Y contact also occurred as he bounced off me then countersteered back into me on replay. Probably csa.
You remember Top Gun?
He got me to have a wheel off on the outside and I was thinking of that line Mavs in a flat spin...
M6 in a flat spin headed towards pit lane!
This is not good...
Race over and he bailed.
Looked at the sr history and this is 3rd day he’s ever been s with 97 total races.
Watched him on replay no idea how he pulled the lap he did for qualifying. He crashed and I passed and when I slowed onto grass he caught. He literally never had overlap at any point until just before apex. Dang it,
ARGH
Sr holding at 99
I will challenge Brands again, but not tonight.
I guess it is law of averages...I did so well last week at Panorama and came out on top.
For Brands online, I need to not go with the low 1:26 I set in my first qual session early this week. Need to get maybe into the 1:25 or so...
The longer I race online, the more I want to respect others, because when it happens to you it sucks.
Oh well, karmas a you know what and I am sure that fella won’t be sr s for long.
Just bad luck

Hi m8, good to meet another GT Planet member!

Yeah the Hong Kong driver seem to be a high-risk, high-reward driver. Might be someone's 2nd account (unusual PSN for an HK account?) that they're just "having fun" on, although the driver does have a DR 61000+ points!

If you see a few more kiwi's, especially during the weekday (or other weird times) beware; it's the school holidays now in New Zealand! Young rammers inbound!
Yeah it is over here as well, could be dicey especially next week at nurburg...

Fire in hell is also bright.

Jackie Stewart, who first used the 'Green Hell' moniker for the Nordschleife, makes several typically candid descriptions on what it was like resisting submission to the 'Ring.

"I never did one lap extra at the Nurburgring than I needed to do," says a typically erudite Stewart. "The whole character of the racetrack was so demanding that even if I had had no mechanical failure there was always the risk that I would have an error of judgement."
The circuit is located amidst dense forest covers in the mountains and that's why it was nicknamed “The Green Hell”.

It depends on the contact. Light contacts that don't result in a time penalty aren't worth much. I had 4 orange SRs per race in two races yet my SR didn't change from 99 and end of race screen listed me with a blue SR. My last race I only saw two orange SRs, the first of which incurred a 4s penalty, and at race end I'd lost 9 SR.

Hmm, either you are faking your location or didn't really see said crash in person, since that shot was very clearly taken here in Aus :p. You can clearly see the school zone sign in the back ground .

Looks like it could be a NSW plate to me.

Also,

The original joke itself was funny though.

Last night I was too tired to race, so I did some of the new GT League races to get my daily gift, then some qualifying laps with the Lexus for Race B, and managed to beat my time set with the M3. That got me P10/14 on a grid of DR/C and D tonight. Let the games begin :dopey:.

I managed to do the whole race without anyone knocking me off the track, so that was good 👍. I did seem to struggle a bit with some places where I wasn't getting the back end to help me, so I was under-steering on the exits that I didn't get during qualy. I was in P6 a few times and lost a position then re-gained it because I ended up mowing the lawn. It would be nice to have a little constancy between handling during qualifying and the race itself when there is no tyre wear or fuel consumption .

I didn't come across any dirty driving. A bit cheeky maybe, but not dirty. Finished P7 with no penalties. I don't recall seeing any orange SRs, but I may have missed them.

And the damage? SR went up 7, DR up 60. Not spectacular, but I call that a result :dopey:. Day 4 visiting the strange world of DR/C :D.

Something definitely changed with penalties. Just got pushed off twice from the inside on Brand's and he got no penalties for any of those, even tho I almost got stuck in litter.
Saw also demolition derby ahead of me, no penalties in all races I did. Everyone ended with blue sr ratings :boggled:
I remember earlier in the week, same track, same incidents, and everyone got slapped with some kind of penalty.

I said I was gonna challenge Brands again and I did!
First race got taken out after starting tenth and ending up in seventh towards end of first lap, but it was fleeting.
Two cars ahead got tangled up and I had to slow which allowed a fella well back to come in and bulldoze me into a spin. Oh well.
Second try, things are going well after starting 11 I am up to 10 by third lap. Guy made a fair move on me I didn’t expect in a right hander, aggressive but good move on replay. Side contact and I go off track...
So at this point I am bleeding dr and cursing Porsche.
Considered carefully trying a third time in b/s.
What the heck.
So in I go this time starting third...Hmm this should be interesting...
Everyone’s quite clean, except midway through first lap the second place gets loose and I’m through!
Yes!
At this point there is a Mercedes chasing and he gets a run up the hill when I missed apex.
I yield and then pressure. Two corners later he brakes too late and is off!
Yes! First is not too far off...I seem to be reeling him in a bit and thers a green Porsche fairly close. This guy restored my faith in humanity. Although he was fast he was not faster enough to cleanly overtake. He was actually patient!
We were closing on first too since we were not battling, just staying to the line and closing. Several laps later it’s the final lap. One bobble from any of us and there will be an overtake...So I just missed perfect exit up the hill and third is on me. I thought do I defend...
I decided to pull to the right and let him through given that I didn’t want him to press and cause me an off with a PODIUM within reach.
So we finish 2 and 3 and I think if it were a longer race first would have worn out...
Such great and fun stuff this is why I play.
After race we thanked each other. Awesome. If that was you out there, thanks for driving like a pro and next time my fastest lap will be a tenth faster than yours instead of vice versa.
Good people make this game what it is.

I noticed the same. Only a hard bump with the other car leaving the road nets a penalty since the update, and that often still doesn't happen when a little bit of lag is involved. The game is a lot more forgiving on lag bumps since the update. It's now better than ever to drive around with bad ping. I saw a new record today, a driver with 466 ms ping, bumped everyone out of the way, no penalty, blue rating.

Racecraft hasn't improved since the update and it's the weekend as well. However much less penalties and red ratings.

@Suntek

The drivers pushing from the inside (aka divebombing most of the times) and making you go off track or hit the wall on the outside, rarely if ever get a penalty. Only if you spin and crash off track that can happen.

It's been like that for ages. It was like that back in Jamuary / February.

What is going on.. Race C keeps disconnecting me between match making and warmup. Anyone else having this? Just got 2 hours wasted due to this..

It happens to me very often. I typically reboot the system and it works. The longer I’m logged on, the more likely

Did some Daily Race Bs in two different cars. Both races include @Chiefy17, NoizyTribeGAS, and mentai_porsche, with the latter making a fatal mistake exiting out of Paddock Hill Bend on both races.

08:30 Room, 911 RSR, qualified 4th after setting a lap time of 1:24.204 using that car, and finished 2nd. I was catching to an Aussie in a WRX after capitalizing on the Paddock Hill incident between NoizyTribe's Beetle and mentai_porsche's, surprise surprise, 911 RSR, but there's only 6 laps, and if this goes to one more lap, I would be in a position for the battle for the lead!

08:50 Room, M3 GT, qualified 6th, finished 4th. Now this is a much more interesting race, as this features Mentai-san dropping into dead last after digging a wheel into the sand and the battle for 4th between me and yu-ichi_m30, who won one of the Tokyo Expressway Gr.3 races last week, so this became what's essentially a rematch. He uses the Lan Evo, which is supposedly a better car than the M3 here. Thankfully, it is just a battle without any divebombs, as Yuichi-san pretty much backs off when the move cannot be completed just like @kie25 as he tries to follow @Tidgney's smart racing mantra throughout the 6 laps of Brands. At one point, Chiefy ended up rallycrossing as he wants to be involved in the showdown. Plus, he (Chiefy) is also the only one who gets a red S Sportsmanship Rating at the end of the race. In the end though, great race and my Clean Races streak went up to 2 at the moment.

Was good racing mate...just a smidge to fast so I was making silly errors trying to keep up. Was funny that 2nd race i completed in 8.43 next one mistake free was a p3 in 8.35. Oh and my red sr was because on lap 2 following you 2 I hit the painted stuff on outside of surtees...then slid to the apex and a car hit me in the rear corner. Got a 4 sec penalty...only contact i had so i assume that was it

Is the penalty system actually improving??
N8Qclnv.gif

A bit of an aggressive move, however I was right behind him for over a lap already and after he slipped up in Hawthorn I went for the pass. He did not leave room for me at the apex while I was alongside before turn in. (or maybe he expected me to go via the grass?) He crashed off and I was waiting for the 5 sec penalty to pop up. Not even an SR Down and clean race bonus after. A fluke, or is the penalty system getting smarter?

Edit: Perhaps it's just broken in that corner. In a later race:
5hyPJgN.gif

Car behind sticks a nose in and pit manoeuvres me off the road. He did not get a penalty for that either. He did have a red S at the end, must have done other things.

How to bully your way around in a race car..

I think game will never be smart enough to apply penalties in that situation correctly. Proper F1 races have stewards for that. So the best course of action would be to penalize both parties. People usually dive bomb, but also assume that corner is theirs, although it doesn't have to be...
Current situation where nobody gets penalized is bad especially at places like Brands where is easy to be on the inside and just tap opponent, or take the wide exit from inside of the corner and the opponent is properly out of the race. Had plenty of that this week :(

Those look the same to me, not sure how you can blame the car on the inside for one and the car on the outside for the other. In my opinion neither move was ever really on.
