I finally got a clean race at RBR! All it took was not going wide on T1 and a 3 second cushion on either side of me lol. :)

Edit: And a Clean Dub to cap off the night, wound up with a 1st, two 2nds and a 9th where I got punted twice, but I did get my SR back up to S. Over all some good clean racing for the most part too, It was a fun night. :)

Ugh, just met one of the worst players. He punted me in T1, then a brake check on the way to T3 and spun me out in T5 slowing down on my inside to push and spin me out. All because I had the jump on him at the start and passed him on the straight before T1. The penalty system let him get away with all that, f that. I chased him down following a trail of wrecked cars left in his wake, him still penalty free. At the end of the mid straight, I punted him into the wall, left him turned around in the grass, bye bye.

I know it's not good behavior, yet when the penalty system fails that dramatically what else can you do. Take the dirty driver off the road yourself :( Unfortunately I got disconnected a minute later so I'll be paying for it next race, no chance to compensate for the lost SR. Sorry, worth it. Fix the damn penalty system.

Damn disconnected again after warm up, Karma sucks, Now I'm in SR.A :/
At any point, did you try to enter a race a few seconds to go and couldn't join?
I found out twice today, I was less than 10 seconds from joining. Got the disconnected notice and got booted a couple races. Only when I did the console restart, I joined as normal. Seems the game boots me from races, when I try to join too close to zero.

I have attained two more wins in daily race a.
Got some decent results in race c. I will use something other than the Corvette though. Maybe the Supra or Ford GT.

I was third just leaving the F1 'Ring course - I'm a B driver - and got deliberately punted by an A+ driver ... OK I passed him on the inside two corners before, but we did not touch, and we went wide. Nice punt though because i ended up last and copped a four second penalty for being hit in the rear ... I ended up 8th but so what. Darn

DO NOT underestimate the importance of math in being a competitive racer.
I was in 3rd and I just slammed on the brakes at the end of lap 4 to scrub off penalties in race B. Only problem is; it's a 5 lap race.
Finished 9th because I can't count to 5. :banghead::banghead::banghead:
2nd time I've ever done that.

Anyone else???

I was 2nd on a Daily B a while back at Brands Hatch and came across the finish line, put the controller down and waited for the cars behind to finish. Unfortunately it was only when they passed me at full speed and my car was drifting into the pit wall that I reallised there was another lap to go.:(

I haven't played at all yet this week, is it worth using the hard compounds in race C?
only if your one stopping,i found softs were very low at the end of lap but i was over braking alot ...

Yeah I was thinking M/M was a decent strategy to start with. Not sure if I could do a no stop, the planets would have to align for me to survive lap 1 with the hardest compound.

Just be prepared to get tapped from behind in first few sectors by people on softs, you'll catch up to them later on:D

In other news, I just stopped to scrub my penalty on RBR, 1 lap to go...

Instant 3rd to 10th lol

Not sure if I'm going to race any more tonight. I took on RBR with the Veyron. After faffing around with the settings (it was still set up for Bathurst), I managed to beat my previous qualifying time. Two day ago my previous qualy got me pole. Today my faster qualy put me in P9/15 . There clearly weren't enough DR/Ds entering, Less than half the grid was DR/D, with 6 DR/Bs :scared:. I just knew this wasn't going to end well .

The orange SRs started at T1, and continued for a few laps, from people either turning in to me from going wide and coming back onto the track, or rear ending me. To add to the mix was penalties which didn't burn off much. On the last lap in P6, and on the final corner just when I think I have a chance, another penalty. Dropped to P8 (and I *really* think they need to add a crying smiley :odd:).

SR dropped to 95, DR went up with a bonus, your DR/C adventure awaits . Day 0 of the trip starts here :dopey:.

I got dumped when on the pole and with only 11 cars. The perfect way to get my manner rating back to S from what is now B. Sheesh ... last race all I wanted was not to hit anyone. I was second on the grid ... of course, first corner at the 'Ring, I get jammed into the corner. I came out of that in 16th place. Hmm ... give up or get back? I followed the crashing cars and soon was still inside the F1 track, back to 11th. Sat with fuel reduced behind three tight cars in the beginning of the proper Nordschleife - and that all got tangled into each other - they greyed out and I just went through them - and got a 4 second penalty. Thanks ... the second penalty because the guy who rammed me earlier seemed to have awarded me his penalty. So two races ago I was S, now I'm a B ... in 8th place now. I got passed another and another and another all clean and ended up second.

So then great - another race and I am on pole. Soft tyres. Just get away and have a clean race, get back to "A" in manners ... a few seconds to the start - I am disconnected.

Enough ...

The thing that really annoys me, is the negative correlation between manner points and performance. The developers must surely know - the ones who do well, are having the crashes and their manner points go down. Really - if two cars collide, maybe both should suffer a power downgrade for the rest of the race. That might stop accidents. I don't know what else will.

What I'd really like to do is have an option in the game - give up three places at the start, but have your car ghosted for the first 90 seconds or until the exit of the first high speed corner ... so select "start ghosted" - and you slow as three cars drive through you - your then straight behind them and you become solid after 90 seconds. I'd take that rather than always being shunted at th first corner and copping bad manner punishment points.

I usually time it pretty short to enter the race, 110 left on the clock. (Matching actually starts 1 minute after entry closes). That doesn't seem to effect it, the more races you do in a row seems to effect the chance of getting booted during the loading screen. I always restart the game between races to avoid that.

Last night I had entered well before entry closed as I got disconnected during the first lap of the previous race. I got disconnected after warm-up so entering the lobby went fine. Bad luck I guess.

I can see what people on here mean about aggressive driving at RBR. SR 99 to 68 today. I’m by no means the best driver around, but I try for clean. On more than one occasion today I was getting -SR after someone else pushed me out of the way. Got punted out of the lead at the second corner in one race. No penalty for the other car.

I think part of it might be impatience by the other drivers as i’m In the Evo and they mostly in Lambos or Audis.

Edit: thinking about it more now, I’m not consistently lapping near my qually time. That isn’t gonna help.

It's darn hard to get out of SR.A while racing from the back. Especially when I get put into these kind of matches
rZZc.jpg

I guess my stellar qualifying time has the system put me in the lower bracket for SR....

Yeah that's quite a mess in lap 1 where bumping other cars is pretty much the general way to drive. I still manage to get through unscathed
sZZc.jpg

However with all the little bumps from others it's a white A at the end.

The next race went better, 2nd and a bit of SR gain. Then one with no contact, a few seconds ahead at the last section for a 14 position gain win, with the car behind me having another 2.9 sec penalty flashing. And I royally screw it up on approach to the straight. Cocky, lazy, dead. I still got 2nd and SR now up to 80.

I did get another win earlier from 10th. A lot fewer people qualify the lower you get in SR. And of course the first race I do in SR.S (80) I get punted twice by a South American, one for which I get the penalty, so still SR 80 after that.

I have only done a 37.9 with the WRX. I could improve with it but it feels slow around RBR. Even with the BB at 5 it’s still sluggish at turning in. Only 360ish hp doesn’t help on the straights either.

Race C - If you can keep out of trouble on mediums it will work. Your fast qualifying will give you the chance. The Mercedes GLS seems to be able to do it - I am much slower than you but got beaten that way. I sat behind the Mercedes saving fuel on the first lap - but the Mercedes did not pit. He got fastest lap for that first lap too. I should have passed him. I'd at least have got fastest lap. I could not catch him after stopping. But with my qualifying times mediums did not work for me so I changed to softs in race C and did much much better. Except for getting hit at the first corner. I don't know how to avoid that ...

Had a few races in between chores: Nürburgring and a tqo rounds in Styria (RBR that is).

For N24: again start on hard with the 997, no stopper. Started 14th, finished 12th. I can live with it. I lack concentration from lap 2 on. It‘s still fun though.

For RBR: managed to lower my qualify-time. Finished 1st and 2nd in both races (which were extraordinaliry clean at least at the front).

Got my DR back up to 8500 and seeing my graph with its recent Ups and Downs I guess DR C is my natural level — enough for a guy who does this for recreation in his spare time ;)

And to make things even worse, I opened a bottle of red wine; 2014 Bordeaux. Santé everyone! :)

To be honest, I am always prepared to give away my position at T1. Most drivers trying to win the race at the very first corner
A) Get an impressive penalty
B) Get caught up im some brawl during the race making it easy to pass them
C) Aren‘t competitive at all and make mistakes when being under pressure
D) Rage quit due to hot temper not being rewarded

„Stay out of other drivers bickering“ — Works for me most of the time.

Edit: Sorry for the double post — forgot I‘m now able to edit my posts

Man, I just blew a 2 second lead with 2 laps to go, Finished 2nd by .15 lol. I would have still had it but I came through the last turn a little to hot knowing he was right on me by then, I ended up having to gear down to second to save it and he got by me before the line. I would have had to block him to get the win and that would have been right, he earned it. Fun race with a exciting finish, I was just on the wrong side of it this time, but there’s always next time. :)

I was 5.5 seconds in front at N24, finish just up the road. Hadn't hit a curb either, and manner points about to jump ... tyres seemed OK too after stopping and changing, and putting extra fuel in ... I had left the pits with a 4 second lead, and built it to 7 seconds in front but decided to ease down a bit with not far to go ... and I left the road at flanzgarten or maybe a bit later, those fast flat road curving bits approaching the final Karussell (my favourite part of the track are those really fast flat land with such fast curves, I love it there and I am quick there) fortunately I got back on the road ... but lost 5 seconds, and the dude passed me, scraping by on the outside ... I was on his left therefore and he moved in front for the line on the left side for the left corner at Schwalbenschwanz - where there is sand on the right of that left corner that leads onto the 2nd Karussell - and he hit the brakes way hard and way early and I hit him in the back, getting on my brakes. For me it was going to be a touch of the brakes and back off and the tail would have moved and pointed the car in the right direction. I got a time penalty but slowed down, and still won the race. No red dot at the end of the race though for being bad. It did not feel good though - and I couldn't apologise.

I need to remain focused and note more about the tyres. Maybe building a lead was not smart? Driving the Porsche. Weird - everything felt fine ...

How can I replay the race and save the race - I'd like to know what happened when I left the track...

At the end of the race before you exit the the race menu, up in the top left corner of the screen there is a replay button, click on it and it will give you an option to save replay. Then it will be saved in your library from the main GT screen. It’s definitely nice to be able to go over game tapes and see what went wrong. :)

Edit: The racing has been great tonight, super clean, super fun! This was probably the most fun so far, started first but couldn’t hold onto it again, but it was fun battling it out all race to finish 2nd. I hope the rest of the night goes like that, I’ve got three 2nds and a 3rd so far and all have been good, clean races, SR is back up to 99 and DR has finally crested 45k again. :D

Stop the clock, finally back to SR 99. I started racing at 10, it's now 4. From low SR.A it took 12 daily C races to climb back up.

Either tap or hold the share button after the race which will bring up the share menu and save the video to the capture gallery. Go to settings -> sharing and broadcast to increase the time for videos to at least 30 minutes so the entire race is always captured. That way you can already review what happened before you get back into the lobby. (Tap or hold depends on the settings) It's a whole lot easier, faster and more accurate than saving the replay. (no penalties on the replay and lag looks different in replays)

No stopper in the NSX. Had 35.2 in the tank. No HUD, so don't know what that equates to in "laps left". Tyres felt a bit worn, but not as bad as an AMG GT skidding in front of me.

Got punted in the 1/3 of lap 1. Slow driver in a Z4, was making a Conga line. Started 15/16. Finished 9th.

It's amazing how the slow the Megane Trophy is now:lol: I got wrecked when I raced it on the Red Bull Ring. I also lost a heap of DR in my desperation to get a decent result. I tried the GT-R and was presented with a much better opportunity due to the slower opposition. I came second, but the margin was very small to first. Can't remember the exact margin but I think it was 0.2 of a second.
