I did had not very look with non stop with hards, seems the pitstop on that track itself is pretty fast, I'm in doubt to what strategy use for next ones, probably stop and put fresh softs.

I jumped into race C yesterday, pleasantly surprised to see my favorite suddenly became the meta. The R92CP rocks. Then I realized it was the no chicane version so it all made sense. I started on hard tires, not very competitive, so I tried a no stop first. It worked yet one stop on softs is way faster. The braking point difference and speed through corners is quite extreme.

On softs you are continually adjusting your braking points though, at least I am as I can't seem to conserve my tires. After 6 laps on softs my rear left is pretty much all gone. So I switched to mediums for the first 6 laps than softs for the last 5 with a quick splash of fuel. That top speed is fun!

I haven't qualified ofcourse, the view from the back is too spectacular to miss. No chicane just means more mess in the second chicane when everyone is drafting beyond top speed and braking points between cars and tires vary as much as 50 meters for the chicane. Ghosts everywhere, smoke, flying blocks and markers, it's like a bomb went off when I get there. I haven't won a race yet, however going up an average of 13 positions per race is plenty fun. Zooming by on the straight at a ridiculous speed, usually someone to draft when you start behind :)

It's a good thing the penalty system is quite lenient as in some races I expected the entire field to be demoted to SR.B, then most of the room is blue. I did drop to SR.A briefly in one race due to two contacts with the other car going off, so when you are the lucky one to get the penalty it's still as harsh as ever. Most people just seem to get away with crap. I also got a red S in one race while being one of the very few without a red dot at the end of the race, from SR Downs for getting bumped into during the race. I've seen people drop to SR.C in one race, so beware!

My DR went down about 90 points from where I ended at N24, so pretty much flat while finishing top 5. The race wasn't very popular I guess with the typical A+ to D matching. It makes spectacular crashes anyway!

I kinda like the R92CP, but seems everyone else does to. 9 out of the top 10 cars in my latest race using it with the 908 on pole. I am struggling with tires though, any tips?
I used the 908Hdi and found that you could get 5 laps from a set of softs, so I used Medium to start and then changed to softs after 6 laps, this gave me the fastest times.

Has the handling model changed? I looked back a month and i did a 1.34 flat with the Aston at interlagos, car felt great, especially on the gas. So i wheel it out again, car felt squirmish, a little loose, tricky under power, and i did a 1.33.6 :confused: . i don't get it.

My visit to DR/C was all too brief. I think maybe I should have gone with Race B. Instead I did two races at Monza, which is exactly what happened to me... I was Monza'd :banghead:. First race I started P9/17 on a grid of 10 DR/Bs. I was using the Sauber and cut about 1.5s off my Group C Peugeot time.

I got rammed twice, first at the first chicane, and then slammed off the track at the corner following that, for which I was gifted two orange SRs. I went from P8 to P13. I was then shoved again and down to P15. I slowly inched my way through the field. Final lap and it looked like I had fuel in hand, so i made the mistake of stopping short shifting. P10 was in my sights and slowly reeling them in. I was about to pass them just before the final corner when I ran out of fuel. My brakes also decided to stop working, because despite crawling along at 80 I could not stop the car till I hit the sand trap. I was trying to corner on the outside to keep off the track proper. I finished P16 :banghead::banghead:.

I lost 1SR and about 800 DR.

Second bite of the cherry cause i wasn't happy with the way the race went. This time I started P14/17. Aside from the DR/Bs there was As and Ss thrown in to the mix.

Again I got knocked around, but not as badly. Again I was up to P10 when I came off and trying to find the will to keep going. I finished P14. My door number was 4 .

SR white, DR, lots! :grumpy: From 5068 to 2299 in 2 races . If they are changing zones tomorrow, race matching is going to be screwed. Most of the Australians are lower SR and higher DR. Another day above DR 1 :yuck:.

With regards to Race C, am I right in saying you can change the tyres during the race only and not on qualy?

I'm just thinking about an earlier post mentioning less braking distance etc. on the softs, but if i do not get a chance to practice with them, I'm not going to have a clue where to brake in the race?

You can change tyres in the car settings in quali. So you are able to practice any compound

You can change while qualifying. Go to car settings before you hit start. Same way you change them during warm-up in the lobby before entering the track.

Beware sometimes settings don't carry over from quali to race. I have no clue why yet TCS seems to reset quite a lot on me. (Maybe because I hit restart before setting a time as I prefer racing without a quali time :) I do practice a few minutes before entering)

One of the features I would love for Pd to implement is allowing us to be turn off/on tire wear in qualify/practice instead of having to do it in a lobby. And if you try it in a custom race, tire wear only goes up to 10X. This way you can practice the race in actual race conditions.

Keith.

The daily races A&B are a bit predictable today, when you see the starting grids. Mostly 1 A+ driver, 1 or 2 two A drivers, then me (B) and some others, and then D drivers. It is not really fun if you know you are not able to win. Especially for the D drivers. Yes, there are nice fights, but not for the win. Do more people have that experience? Normally it is better balanced, I didn't drove for two weeks, so such grids were a bit of a surprise.

It wasn't like that at the RBR ring at the start of last week but by the end it was, so many A drivers ended up with SR drops and a lot of them may not be back at the top of S yet. As a A+ driver I shouldn't be racing D drivers but some days I was and it was not fair at all. Only done a couple Race B this week and the races were lacking in A/A+ drivers but not quite as bad as the end of last week.

Peak times are better in this regard of course too as there's more players to match then.

Yeah last week got like that towards the end for sure, basically no points to be gained in races like that at all. Last nights race A that I did was the same, me and one other A driver with the rest all being C and D, I felt bad for them before we even started, that can’t be much fun for them and I only gained 135pts for the win. Hopefully things get better as the week goes on.

Hi guys. I'm on day 4 of my new PS4 and GT sport. Haven't raced really since GT 4 was new, pulled out the old PS2 and started again and decided to upgrade. I'm at about race 15 online and starting to get a handle on things. I use a g29. Been racing the B race...2 podiums so far. Last 2 races started 7th and 8th and finshed 5th in both. Punted in T1 at the start (back to 12th I think) in the first, and swerved to avoid a ghost in the second that also put me back to 9th.(won't do that again). I have a question. Is there any way to see anyone elses Q runs, with timing, so I can check out lines and splits? I'm hoping when I move up to DR-C the carnage will go down...

You need to enter the qually leaderboard, not the one you access in time trial mode. Once there select top 10, to the right of their names there is a red play symbol.

Did we race last night?

Interlagos somehow feels slippery, I'm sliding on the track... Anyone else have this experience ?

Yes and I've got my time down to a 1:31.4 so not entirely slow but I still feel it. I'm also driving the same Mazda I drove at Catalunya the other week, it wasn't loose there but it is here. Again though I can't find a BB I'm totally happy with, I've ran similar times with +5, +2 (where I set my fastest lap) and even -2. :boggled:

Yeah that's what i said, felt more slippery but faster. Makes no sense.

Thanks. IDK if we raced last night. I did race a couple. Q was 1:35.8xx. I managed a 1:35.1 during a race, so I hope to Q better tonight. I'm in the Mazda. DR-D SR-B (after being mauled on RBR over the weekend)

It was in lobbies, never mind it must have been a different Rex 👍.

Does it still have the rough texture they added last time it was a weekly race? It’s like the whole track was roughed up.

No idea. All i know is, I ran a 34 flat in qualifying and i THINk a fast race lap of 33.8 or something. The Aston felt great, so solid through the S curves where i was eating Porsches alive down the next straight as they squirmed on exit and i just planted it.

So i jump in again this week and the Aston is all over the place, can't get on the gas anywhere near as hard, wants to swap ends under braking and spins easily if i touch the grass. i run a 33.6 in qualy, 33.5 in the race, and there's a sub 33 in me for sure.

i can't figure it out.

Is the race being run at the same time of day as last time? (I haven't been on to try it this week yet)

100% his intentional fault but never ever pass there. Ever.
Not actually sure I agree, watching from his point of view, he actually closes the room down (which most likely can be considered crowding off the track, but because its a minimal amount it looks like a genuine mistake), albeit too much realises that he has to leave more room and moves to do so. The first real contact comes as Mikey moves across, it looks like a deliberate move from his point of view, but from Mikeys view it looks much the same as the first that too much space was taken, the only issue there is, its obvious that he’s taken offence and then proceeds to spin Mikey 100% his fault.

Looking at the incident in its entirety and from both views because of choices made by both I wouldn’t lay the blame completely at the other racer. Easily avoidable from both until he decides to take revenge and spin.

So I would call it 25/75 to yoshikata-1208.

My POV

His POV

It's after those kinds of incidents where I usually run my fastest laps. Because I want to catch up to the other guy so badly that my concentration level goes to the maximum for every braking zone, every corner exit, etc....
Funny thing is, when I get back within striking distance, they will normally wreck themselves. Probably because they're watching their rear-view nervously.
