Ugh I spoke too soon. I just did the 6::30 pm race, what a disaster. Already in T1 a Mazda bounces off me while I'm steady on the inside, 5 sec penalty. Then the Chicane, big mess, can't avoid tapping a car, +2 sec. Lap 2 I'm side by side with another car through the two right handers after the chicane. I'm on the inside, we're both holding our line. Knucklehead behind punts me wide into the car on the outside who goes off, +4 sec for me.

I did manage to escape the backfield and finish 6th after serving my 11 sec of penalties. However not until after a couple more bumps from behind and a drop to 69 SR, -30 SR in one race. Sunday is back, and it's brutal. The people that hit me were all red too, one dropped to B. What a joke.

This might take a while, +8 in the next race, only +1 in the one after. Driving with the SR Bump crowd.
Why is that you always get into some sort of trouble?

I'm currently doing about 20 races a day, bound to be one disaster in there. I'm at home due to a back injury, GT Sport keeps my mind of it. Honestly the more chaos the less pain lol.

SR.A was interesting again. Lots of chaos and I end up lapping half the field while still finishing 25 sec behind the leader. Back to 83 SR currently. It should go faster once the bumping stops.

Next race, made it up 11 positions in this

Exciting yes! Only worth 5 SR though due to getting shunted and bumped off track. At 88 now.

Hey man, nice to meet you on track last night and see you here. You're one fast MF! Thanks for being clean and respectable. I tried to hold you off as long as possible but when I could no longer I just gave you the space you needed and you were gone. We had a nice clean and close battle for a minute though. Not everyone is so patient, you've definitely earned my respect. See you again!

Likewise! It was a great clean battle. I have had some great races this week Monza. It’s always great to find skilled drivers who understand how to race. I’ll friend you on the PSN later tonight.

Some great races tonight and some not so great. It can be messy on Monza. First race in the night I get bumped 3 off 3 times, once rewarded with a penalty for it as well. Shrug it off, it's the default for starting mid backfield on Monza. What is not the default is jumping to 3rd after the first chicane, 2nd before the first lap is over and first not long after.

The mess already started on the way to the chicane

Then I cruised carefully through the mess in the chicane

I'm not that fast to hold on to the lead for long, so after leading a couple laps the actual leaders caught up. I had a fun battle with @Winnie847 for 2 laps slowing his HDI fap down with my R92CP. I over drove Ascari though so thought it better to serve my penalty on the way to the chicane and give @Winnie847 a shot at first. Unfortunately he spun out giving me 2nd place, thanks :)

Next race he won despite the rammers coming out at night. I did a couple more races after that and as expected matchmaking quickly turned into a dreadful affair past 3am. Remember I'm starting from the back... Not quite the 13 positions I was gaining on Monday/Tuesday.
W4ad.jpg

Only 10 in the race, half of which I reported afterwards for ramming. I got rammed off a few times as well, likely half of them were drunk.

The last race I did I had the fastest lap again, another 3rd place, 6 places up this time in a bit more populated room with lower SR drivers to fill it up to double digits. I got punted by a Mazda in the chicane, twice. He had a red B after the race and I called him out for his crap behavior. His response, the classic you are slow. My lap time 1:24.023, hist fastest lap 1:26.54, some people are hilarious.

These matchmaking changes aren't panning out so far. My DR has dropped 5K since the change and hanging onto 99 SR has become more difficult while driving from the backfield. Upping the difficulty to keep it interesting PD?

You mentioned an ability to report bad behavior in game. How or where can others report people who are clearly getting their kicks by ruining other people’s day?

Races a couple more C races. Got a 5th place (from 13th) without any penalties, then 11th or 12th from 16th. That one was strange. Huge crowd going into the second chicane on lap one...cars 3 wide and everyone running into everyone. I swerved right to avoid rear ending someone and went into the paint. 4 second penalty and was still in 14th after lap 2. Couple laps in I touched the curb coming out of the same chicane and got a bit sideways. Thought I had it saved twice, but ended up in the wall after all. Oh well. Had some good battles in the first race with 6th and 7th towards the end, but even though they both had a lot of speed on the straights on me, I made a lot of time on them in the 2 right handers and the second chicane. I seem to be running through those as fast as anyone Ive seen in my races, but i feel like I can't carry any speed through the first chicane. In the end, consistancy got me to the top 5 finish.

At the race result screen, click on any player's name and you get the option to report them. Don't expect much of it. I always report rammers and they always come back. I think of it more as a statistic for PD, more reports = worse matchmaking / SR evaluation quality.

The 9pm race just now was very dirty again. Punted in the chicane, bumped off again 2 corners later, yet I managed to get the clean race bonus and +9 SR, to 97. Good enough for now.

I hadn't seen that car at all this week, and then two turned up in the same race last night!

Their experience was similar to yours.....
I’m glad to hear this, I was thinking about buying one....not any more. Maybe it would be better for Fuji?

Almost sure its related to MTU of your connection. After I set the correct one in my modem I never again got disconnected, tested for 4 weeks now. (this week especially played a lot on monza)

Sven thanks for the heads up. I was going to race 1 more tonight, but I think I'll hold what I have. Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em.

Keith.

With the Playstation Now free trial I downloaded Project Cars, Assetto Corsa and F1 2016. I think I'll mess around with those for a bit. :)

I think I saw Dirt Rally on there. If you like Rally and use wheel it’s a must have...Excellent. I think same dev as f1 game?..
Anyways that’s my go to other single player.

Have a good week everyone.
Any good car recommendation for Gr3 for Tokyo EXP South Inner Loop? Looks like it's gonna be a week of fast racing of slipstreamin'.

Yes I’m not touching anyone yet keep dropping.

Something must be happening to cause it, I've never heard of anyone losing SR for no reason before. So if it is a bug it's extremely rare.

Why is that you always get into some sort of trouble?

When he's racing he races a lot of races. He also drives without setting a Qualifying time most of the time and is actually faster than a lot of the other people he is racing so he is having to make a lot of overtakes. The more people you get in a race with the bigger the chance that one (or more) of them is the sort of person who doesn't like to be overtaken, or is the sort that like to push others about or use any other dirty tactic. It does not take many bad drivers to cause mayhem either and some of the incidents that happen in the midfield are simply unforeseeable and/or unavoidable.

There was no "blitztoo" on the grid. Looking at the screen shots of all the races I started in since the change, you don't apear on any of them. Sorry :dopey:. I was using the 911 blackbird for what it's worth... as noted in the pics posted :p.
On of the cars on your list was the car I had four races against - him beating me by less than 1/10th of a second three times. He became super defensive but I wan't to avoid damaging my SR. He was 17/1000ths of a second better qualifying - so I improved my qualifying, I was then .15 seconds better than him!! I was in front of him at the start then ... he got caught fighting, he dame 5th, his SR was red ... I came 2nd and laughed about it! I wished I knew how to test the guy we had some close races alright, he tried three different cars! When you improve remember blitztoo and I'll be carfull to leave you alone!!

That's what I'm trying to disprove :) Although it takes a lot of races to predict what is going to happen in any situation, normally by pretty much knowing most of the drivers on the track. The influx of new matchmaking meat after the South Americans were ousted made things a bit more unpredictable, for now. Anyway I always get back to 99 not long after except when it's BMB.

Up in the night again I gave a first attempt at Tokyo. First observation, fuel lap indicator in the pit is all lies! I tank for 4.0 laps halfway, I indeed make it back to just past the pit, 4 laps later. Except the pit is far back from the finish :banghead: Lost all that I gained, try again with more fuel.

Just had my first go at the new Tokyo layout race C in the Aus/NZ region. The track seemed OK to learn and managed to break the 2 minute mark on my best lap in the McLaren Gr3. Once the matchmaking screen popped up I saw pole was in the 54's and when the warm-up started I realised that most of the drivers were on softs and that I had qualified on Hards!
Anyway, started 7th on softs and all hell broke loose at the first hairpin. 4 cars in front of me out-braked themselves and I was battling for 4th exiting the hairpin. From there on, the race was fairly quiet; was in 4th by lap 2 and finished 3rd, but a long way behind the leaders. As it turned out, there was one driver that tried to do a no-stop, was leading after everyone else had pitted, but ran out of fuel starting the last lap - I think he mis-counted the number of laps LOL!

As you can see there was some pretty crazy driving down the field; drivers with 20+ sec penalties. Matchmaking was the usual DR-S/A+ to DR-D, but there was also some SR-B/C mixed in amongst the SR-S. I know it's early days, but I think it pays to qualify the best you can! Also, the more people learn the track, hopefully, the racing will get better.........

^ How do you have so many more drivers in Oceania than in NA? Oh wait, it's 4 am here

Second attempt, Corvette this time. I forget to set the tires at the start of the race yet still make up some places. This time I take fuel for 4.2 laps and make it across the finish! 3 positions up, only 10 entries though. I'm the only one without a red dot, I feel left out :)

Third race, getting better. 4th in a room of 14. Turismo-lester got up though, no chance of winning. The AMG GT3 '16 is better on fuel and drives quite nicely. Lester was using the ford spec II He qualified with 1:53.930 and it seems the Ford is quickly becoming the meta on the ranking board. The Ford with AT is horrible of fuel though, not for me.

Had some early success in Race B with the Viper - a 3rd and a 1st with a qualifying time of 11.0. Both times I was the only Viper in the race as well

GT S gave me a special prize last week - it was some sort of special thing that GTS announced to me after the race - but i forget what it was for. I thought it said 100 races but that was last week I think ... but any in GR3 at Interlagos, after some fairly horrific faces getting hit left and right and damaging my precious SR - I got a pole. Not only that, but there was 0.4 second gap to the car behind me. I took off and disappeared. It was a special prize to me - I even had the pleasure of lapping a car on lap 4 of the 5 lap race. Fastest lap, silver star for a clean race, the pole and the win. And then Sony made some announcement to me ... then I realised, it must be some sort of apology to me ...

But back to reality the next race.

My luck, Turismo-lester only did one race, perhaps he's back to qualifying as one of his team mates took the top spot on the ranking board.

I didn't come out unscathed though. First lap I'm behind a blocking Ford who kinda steers me into a part where the road narrows before the hairpin at the pit. 5 sec penalty. That rattles me and my out brake manoever on the Ford at the hairpin ends badly as there is an early braker on the inside line which was hidden behind the Ford :/ I hit him, +4 sec. Too aggressive for lap 1, I didn't adjust for traffic, my bad. -7 SR for that race to 92. I'm not alone though, there were only 3 blue ratings in that room, 3 dropped to SR.B, 2 to SR.A. The 9 sec penalty didn't even matter at the end, I won with a 15 sec lead even though my best lap was only 1:58.706. Thanks for taking a break lester! (He's usually on all morning)

My last journey to Interlagos was sort of strange. Started second with a number 1 at my doors and I was confident to have some interesting fights with the guy in front (on a Lambo). And what happened? Completely struggled with the grip, couldn't get a lap time better than 1:34, where I usually drive low 33s. So I was handed down to 4th rather defending than attacking. Next race the same thing. I guess it was me and my driving, but at a moment I tended to think the game didn't want me to become too self confident and played a trick on me...
The last few races the people appeared who must have saved their quali-times for Sunday besting me by half a second. So I started in the middle of the grid which delivered some great racing. And some less great. Some guy who left the track after Junçao decided that he didn't agree with me overtaking him and hit my left side so I spun around.
But as there was one podium and another 4th place I finally have 2k more DR points (18.5k now) and clean 99 SR.
