I suggest everyone who does FIA, DO NOT do Manufacturers race around Blue Moon speedway because I got disqualified for number of collisions on final lap when my ‘teammate’ was helping me with boosts by tapping me from behind and slipstreaming while in first place during the whole race giving me an advantage. Can’t recall how many taps he/she gave me, probably 30 and each tap from behind resulted in a SR drop. Before final lap, I get a warning that I’ll be disqualified cos of number of collisions which they weren’t even collision. Final corner another driver gives me a tap from the side and I’m kicked out before finish line. After being disqualified, my dr and sr took a massive plunge from a+:s to d:e. My teammate didn’t know I would be disqualified after the help even though he’s actions weren’t intentional. You’ve been warned

Getting draft bumped always gives you an SR down, but repeated bumps could end in a DR reset which sounds like it’s what happened. That sucks man, I got reset on my old profile a few weeks ago, it’s definitely not fun.

Sarthe is a circus alright. The weekend has started proper now. They got me down to SR.A in my last race. Punted in Mulsanne, dive bombed into Indianapolis, which I tried to avoid spinning out. Crashed into at Arnage, then a brake check before the Porsche curves. Who slams on the brakes before the last arrow on the middle of the road, swerving across the road.... I can't compensate that much.

It was going great, yet now the kiddies are awake. My best, a couple 2nd places with fastest lap, one starting from 17th while getting punted in Mulsanne. If not for that 8 sec loss I would have won that one. 15 positions up is good enough :) Most of the races had sub 10 participants though, quiet morning.

Now the long road back to 99 SR with the weekend warrior tribes. 16 entries up next, down to SR.B, at least the SR.E crowd is gone!

10:30 race, SR.B exiled, 15 entries, getting better.

Doh, knock on the door at race start. Boy scouts collecting empty bottles to raise funds. I'm not going to tell them to 🤬 off because my race is starting, forfeited. I almost gave them a case that was still half full, I haven't drank any beer in years. Supplying expired alcohol to minors, how many years is that... Oh just one... Of course PD did tell me to 🤬 off, -5 SR -1300 DR. No good deed goes unpunished. And one wonders why gamers are anti social, not allowed to pay attention to RL! Back to SR.A again, just as the matching is getting tighter :banghead:

Next up, starting 17th of 18, SR.S to SR.B. I guess last race was a mess dumping people out of SR.S, or they ran for the hills. Same fast people on pole, SR 99 on top.

That's exactly what happened. But I'm not gonna cry about it, i'll have to start all over again just before the new official FIA season 2019.

It does give other cars a good boost to hang on to a R92CP on the straight, leeching their top speed, then pass them in the Porsche curves.
Yes, up to a certain point. When the Mazda hits 226 mph, it will drop down about 10 mph because of the rev limiter. Drafting the Nissans until you get up to about 220 is fine, but after that, you do not want to be behind one of them. you'll keep hitting the limiter too quickly. What has worked for me is to get on and off the throttle, to keep it in the 223-225 range.
If you're driving the Mazda, and you can get to the beginning of the straight with a 2 second lead, you're golden.

I’m not sure if I wanna go in country or practice a few and wait till tonight. Last nights race was quite clean, and I don’t know if I can tolerate getting divebombed and losing sr or qualifying, and maybe being in over my head.
The more I run this combo the more I like it...

Did we race together, yesterday? Sven said he raced with you, and I had a lot of races with him.
There are a bunch of people here, whose PSN name I don't know.

Yes, I’ve seen your name starting up front there, but I wouldn’t say we raced lol. I’m still learning the track and getting used to the gr c car.
I’m not ready to put up a qual time. I saw that a plus last night I think 3 flat...That’s quick.
I’ll probably jump in here on the hour, if I see ya I’ll holler

See lots of wall riders lol staying on the outside lol or well hear them riding it behind me lol acting all what what they keeping up lmfao

However just seen something new. At least to me.

So after taking Pole and owning first corner flawlessly 2 cars behind me jockey for position a bit and by lap 2 I had fallen back position after getting passed on the straight. No biggie its only lap 2. Coming out turn 1 on lap 3 I get a run on him and by exit of turn 2 I had a nice inside line to make a run down the straight to the final corner but going into the last corner I saw something odd. Right before my braking point I see his car ghost for a split second. Right away struck me as odd because its pre turn in, not a game generated ghosting from over cooking a corner but something different.

So I pay attention and both him and 3rd frequently ghost right at the braking point for a split second, sometimes if they drift wide theythey ghost just before touching the wall and come out the corner as if they nailed it.....

Wow, like really, wow, I'm not surprised as gaming is the furthest thing from real life and I actually expect nothing less from Online, Got to admit they creatively sneaky lol

This ranking system has me looking at terrible drivers with great stats act superior after cheesing races. Its kinda funny if you don't take it seriously, but right piss one off who does.

In the race I figurred they will always go wide to pull it off so I dont have to worry about the inside bump and went in hard every time nobody was dirty as in banging me or pinching into or out of corners they stayed for the most part off other cars BUT somethings fishy. I push on to build a SMALL gap and hold off to evetually win.

After race everybody is congratulatory "great clean race" they all saying. I keep my mouth shut save replay and exit.

Load replay up. Sure nuff they are using (both of them) a pause brake technique. Hit the pause at braking point the auto drive seems to handle the brakes then they leave the corners cooking clean, no penalties.

Seems if you are quick enough on the pause button and know when to use it you can avoid penalties and take corners better than seemingly their ability because the times they don't pause brake they more often than not get beat up by the corner.

Its also something the wall riders be doing. My best bet here is it avoids wall riding penalties although I see many do it no ghost knowing where and how to do it no penalty.

I figured if these guys spent as much time driving to be better as they do looking for cheesy ways to race they probably do real well....

I find no matter who's on the track. No matter the rank S or not, nobody gives way & when not doing so messes them up they blame the other guy. Or worse turn into vendetta drivers getting some track justice lolololol acting all righteous as if anybody touching them intentional or not gives them the right to ping pong others.

The "fastest" guys are often CLOWNS down straights swerving all over the place to get people off their draft, racing line? These guys go past the inside white lines running on the infield. Wreakless driving maybe. Its cheap and lame, its to be expected tho in this type of system. Fun as it may for them to be blabbing and laughing buts its open lobby stuff not what I would like to see in FiA events.

At least one can slow down to avoid these Wreakless drivers, let them take the win, focus more on my own stats.

Every race its about is position worth risking stats.

Lots of stuff very hard to police or regulate tho its also a track very easy for slower drivers to keep up on a draft and the penalties system is optimum race line specific, not dynamic at all how on earth getting bump passed on the inside is the outside drivers fault when inside driver slid into them. Techniques like going hard inside ONLY work if you get yourself far enough in front to be clearly visibly in front before turn in. I see people do it from 4th or 5th place at turn in sliding up the track taking out the guys ahead. I also see pass blocking turning in sharp when you see them paasing on the inside.

Its funny because in the newb lobbies it happened but after the race "sorry" "my bad" in the higher level lobbies its always the other guys fault lololololol

GTS FiA end of the day is beta with lots of issues to work out.

Ohh yeah Fleecing SR lmfao I see guys pull to the inside, let everybody pass, they cruise the track at the back. At first Im like what are they doing that for, then I thought about it, easy to be clean if you all alone Lolololololol so even high 99 SR is really not reflective of anything.

Doh, slow ghosted car in the way, not sure whether to avoid or drive through, ended up doing both with this as result.

Fun, but not efficient.

It's hard getting back to 99. The same driver keeps messing me up, swerve blocking on the straight like a maniac, braking way to early in random places. First time I apologized for making contact at Porsche curves, second time I got bumped into him at the Ford chicanes when he was holding up traffic, last race he brake checked for Indianapolis, didn't even go wide. Either he's a troll or his mommy set the qualifying time for him. I've never seen such an inconsistent driver, can't predict this one at all.

Good, he's not there in the next race and only one SR.A. Still 17 SR to go to get back to 99.

There's only 3 days a week, when you'll see me. Because of work, I can only race on Thursdays and Fridays, and sometimes Sunday mornings.
When I'm at work, I have a lot of down time, so I come to this forum when I don't have anything to do. Actually, I'm getting paid right now. 👍

I have been focusing on Race B this week because I really enjoy the combo and it has been a gold mine for DR farming for me. A lot of really close races.

I qualified with the GR Supra with a time of 1:31.7, but my go to for race sessions ya been the Mustang. I have managed 1:32.3s with it. I bagged a few wins with the M6 and the RS01 as well.

I love seeing the strengths and weaknesses of all the Gr.3 cars there. The Huracans and Ford GT are the Mustangs biggest threat for sure.

Now, Race C...what is the R92CPs kryptonite? The Puegot and Hyundai were competitor at Monza. I know the Mulsanne plays to its advantage but I’m interested in anything that could dethrone the Nissan as a fun challenge for this afternoon.

12:30 race, SR.B is back, 17 entries. How long until the game can fill a full SR.S room. 16 entries, always the one drop out. I still remember the days we were complaining about the DR spread in races.... That's a given now.

13:00 race, SR.S / 3 SR.A, 16 entries yet I'm starting 12th. New missiles behind.

I booted up the bringerofrain279 account this morning to do some hot laps on La Sarthe to see if I’d improved over the week, I ended up beating my 3:06.9XX by quite a bit. I got it down to 3:02.6XX with an Optimal of 3:01.1XX. I’m tempted to qualify today and try for a dub tonight but I just got my SR back up and I don’t wanna ruin it trying by to win one and getting bumped haha. Plus Q times are on Softs and I run mediums in the race, my medium times are probably not good enough to win yet. :)

Well, that was fun. Decided to qual, and became a victim of friendly punting. I don’t mind getting hit, but from a guy On here it hurts.
Come on. I was doing ok, until hanging this left and close to apex I get smashed into the sand losing at least 25 seconds many spots.
Race ruined. And, as a bonus treated to sr down and red s?
That was some effed up bs. I’m out.
I never thought orange juice could be so dangerous.

After taking a couple weeks off I made it back to Race C yesterday. 6 wins out of 8 races. Took me a race or two to figure out the best tire strategy but I think I like no-stopping with softs up front and mediums on the rear. I got beat by the same guy twice who was using softs all around without stopping. He must be a god among men or something because there’s no way I could manage the softs on the rear tires for the last lap or two. I tried all mediums too but the softs up front improve the pace too significantly in the first few laps. If you’re pit-stopping here.....you’re wrong.

Good to see all the familiar names again. I’ll be racing more today. See you out there!

You might be surprised. I think most people are in the same boat, in terms of race tires vs qualifying tires.
In the races I've won there, this week, my fastest lap was about 5 seconds slower than my qualifying lap. I'll never come remotely close to my qualifying time, in the race. I don't even use the same car. Give it a shot.

My apologies, that must have been me. I tried to avoid yet I had no where to go after hitting the off camber part pushing me back. My fault, should have been sooner on the brakes, too much paying attention to the car behind me.

I was in chase mode as the guy in front of you bumped me off in Mulsanne in lap 1.

Don't give up! I'll be more careful next time!

Talking about effed up ********. Last race I had a ghost reset on top of me in Mulsanne, loud clunk noise, slowed down, SR Down.
The race before I avoid a car, lose 2 places and get a 5 sec penalty for hitting the wall.
Just got to roll with the punches :/

Anyway, I'm sorry, do come back :)

I ran into somebody, once.

I got lucky, I didn’t have to qualify on my good account. My son when out with his buddies tonight so I ran a race on the BoR account instead lol. Originally starting 2/18 the leader got booted/lost before the start of the race and I ended up with the pole, got passed by the first corner but ended up having a good race and finished 4th. It was a pretty quick room though with 16th place still having a 3:08 Q time. If not for a couple of bumps from behind I may have finished 3rd, but it was a fun race non the less.

I also got my Q time down to 3:08.5 on mediums in pre race qualifying laps which was cool, my best before was 3:12.8 I think. Main thing is I’m being competitive with a very fast car, that’s a win in my books because I wouldn’t have been able to do it a month ago. :)

Decided to do some hot laps at Tokyo to see if I could get my Q down. Tried a few laps in a bunch of cars, but the Lambo and the Ford GT seem to work better for me. Decided to go for the GT. It's a bit less hyper, and I'm old so I don't need hyper. Did about 30 laps and got down to 1:33.556. Also did half a dozen 33.7's and 33.8's. Was running mostly 34.1-34.2. Decided to race and got pole. Flag to flag victory...first of the year, plus pole and fastest lap. Raced again, started 3rd, got away with the front 2 but moved up to P2 after 2nd ate the wall on lap 2 coming out of the chicane. Mustang in the lead was pushing hard, usually throwing sparks a couple times per lap, but not usually enough contact to slow much. I had a bit on him in the run to the chicane, but he never made a mistake big enough to let me get closer than his bumper. The gap went back and forth from about .5 to 1.2. It was a good race even though it was really follow the leader. Thought I might get fastest lap with my 2nd place finish since I did close a 1.6 second gap after I was gifted 2nd position, but he took that too, with a 33.88 on lap 4 vs my 33.90 on lap 3. I backed off through the chicane on the last lap so he won by 2 seconds. Total time for me was 7:58 vs the 7.56 for the win previous. SR is up to 68.

Switched to the Nissan at LeSarthe to run some laps. I set my Q on softs with TC on 2. I think I'm at 3:06.9. Decided to try to get used to this beast with no TC. Ran med/hard since that's what I've been racing on. Got down to a 10.1. I think if I can do 11's and 12's in the race, and I'm gridded top 5 or 6, that might be good for a podium. Might try soft/med in a custom race to see how they wear. I did run softs on both ends earlier in the week, no stop, and was doing well (for me) running in about 5th, when I got rear ended on lap 4 at Indy, then went wide after the porsche curves... ended up in 12th with both rears and left front showing full red. Maybe I can make RS/RM work with my (hopefully) improved driving.

A bunch of Tokyo Race Bs this Sunday morning, with victories in the GTI and the Atenza, and then losing out to a B/S driver in META cars when I'm racing the RC F (lost out to a Huracán) and the Viper (lost out to a Ford GT LM).

Up next after restarting the game and console is an attempt to win in a PUG VGT and the R8 LMS.

Nationals race on Monza is a bumper car circus. Qualified second, was in first until the first corner were it seemed like literally everyone punted me off the track.

Tokyo has been my go to race this week, I like street circuits and fortune seems to favour the brave.

I tried everything from the RS01 to the Jag and went down to low low drb and srd. I carried on slogging through, picked up wins in the jag/Porsche/Aston/ford gt but my go to since the beginning of the week has been the huracan. My quali time is now 1:32.7 and generally puts me on pole in the lobbies I’m in.

The best part now is I’m only a few k from A+ and already have my sr s back. Hoping by the end of today I am on A+.

No worries, mate.
I was quite but hurt at the moment only because when I saw the red s I thought that meant my sr was below 90. At the time I literally checked replay and posted and was out the door...
Just got home. All is well for my sr.
Mistakes happen. Totally forgive ya. All good fun.

Again apologies. I didn't realize it was you at the time, dumb tunnel vision on the car in front of you, that did exactly the same to me a lap earlier including getting SR Down for getting hit. Not that it would make it better if it was someone else... I was ffwding through the replay after the race, yet since I did not get a penalty I couldn't find it at first.

That red S can be misleading. It took me a bunch of races to get back to 99 in the afternoon. Every time my heart sank when I saw that red S again after a perfectly fine race. 2 bumps from behind at the start from an impatient 919 and another during the race is enough to get a red S. Yet when I checked it was only -1 SR each time.

Races were clean in the evening with @Winnie847 stealing the wins. I did get punted a couple times yet most of the races were good, albeit very slow at the start. My record a 3:40 opening lap, practicing extreme patience. Then that sweet -31 sec faster second lap! I got the clean race bonus, free of red dots otherwise, and most importantly, I didn't bump anyone off the track.

More racing tomorrow, I'll qualify in the morning. Then I can hit you in lap 1 already :O

Oh god the legendary @Sven Jurgens qualifying lap awaits tomorrows races. When we all see him competiting for podium finishes!
Alas i probably wont get the pleasure of witnessing it as Im still stuck at A/a. Im still recovering from two bumpy race B's from thursday still. Been trying my best to farm Sr in race c but its seems i can only manage a gain of maybe 6 per race as inevitably get bumped at least once from behind on the first 2 corners or somehow allow an audi vgt past onto the main straight and get violently blocked by a b/b pschychotic rammer and either get a red S or white. Probably 15+ races (mostly flag to flags or second place finishes) and still stuck in the sixties...

that bumpdrafting thing is very dangerous , easy to game you can get someone DQ just by following them around and bumpdrafting them , Tokyo is a dream track for that
