Just had my best and most enjoyable race so far! Started race C on Suzuka on the 8th place but due to connection issues i started at 6.

Started of well and passed 1 car in the first corner. Had a nice battle for the 4th place but i couldnt pass him. Then after a few laps he made a mistake so i could finally pass him.

I had already pitted and ended behind someone who hadnt and who was significantly slower but he blocked me so many times so i became afrato keep close to him because he might ruin my race. Eventually he made mistake as well so i became nr3.

Just 2 laps later i passed the guy in front of me who was to slow to keep my pace so i ended 2nd with 8 seconds in front. Nr 1 was just to damn fast with 14 seconds in front of me.

Today included my worst race, which I ragequit in a fit of swearing after getting punted off numerous times and losing 16 SR.

Other than that, it was great! :D

I finally won at Interlagos. I guess the game decided to show some mercy and put me in a room of mortals for a change :p I had a Q time of 1:32.208, which led to a lights-to-flag victory by about a second. I even got the trifecta of Pole + FL + Clean Race Bonus

This was followed by a series of mid-pack finishes, as the previous race gave my SR a large boost and I got matched with aliens again. Until my final race, Gr.4 at Fuji. I went in with a Q time of 1:41.928 in the Huracan Gr.4, which was the car I felt most comfortable with. I started 4th behind another Huracan, a Megane and a TT. I got by the TT on turn 1 with a rather sketchy overtake that fortunately didn't get me SR Down or a penalty and just stuck behind 2nd and 1st for half the race. Eventually I got a good run out of the final corner and was able to take 2nd place starting lap 3. Then I just tried my best to stick as close to the leading Megane as possible, setting a FL of 1:41.823 in the process. On the S/F straight he was gaining on me despite the slipstream, until I started reeling him in after crossing the line to begin lap 4 and took the lead on turn 1. I stayed about 0.5-0.6s in front of the pack of three, which was enough to prevent the Megane's straight line speed from doing me in on the homestretch and I claimed my 30th W with another clean race bonus! DR 37528, SR 87.

And... that's going to be all she wrote for now.

My last semester of HS is starting and if I want to achieve my goal of studying medicine, I'll have to get rid of any... distractions :indiff: Which means my PS4 won't be around for a while. I'll be checking this thread, though it will be 5 months before I can get back on track.

But that's going to be with a wheel. :gtpflag:

I haven't done race C, this week. What are people doing for fuel and tire strategy?

There is no fuel strategy needed! For tires you can only use the the hard tire. I pit in lap 4 to get a good mid race so i can create a gap and defend it in the end. Some people pit in lap 6 to have a fresh end. I think this one is harder because you still need to pass a few cars then on a difficult track!

You have enough fuel to go the distance and most seem to be stopping for tires at the end of lap 5, the only option is RH. I was cruising along in third last night and all of a sudden I’m in first, everyone had pitted and I didn’t realize until it was too late, I assumed we were no stopping. I just went with it at that point but they caught up rather quickly as my tires were shot by lap 7 and I had to pit, I ended up 6th in the end. I don’t think no stopping is an option unless you’re really good with worn tires, that Nissan is a beast even with fresh tires lol. :)

Can you tune the car for the tire wear event or is what it is like Gr4 at Fuji?

Gonna do a NiSMO style livery lol make it look like the street car lol

Did more Race Bs. First off is the GTI race from yesterday, where a B/S Taiwanese in an RC F Proto somehow sits on pole with a 1:31.972, with myself starting in 2nd with the old quali time of 1:32.042. Race starts and the Taiwanese completely bottled his race after getting passed by me into Descida de Lago, then puts the power down too early and spins out. After then, it's just the matter of keeping it on the track and claim my 52nd victory.

This morning, I've decided to use the FT-1 and the 2017 RC F for both Race Bs. The FT-1 race only has 6 cars, and it's just the 2nd placed R.S.01 driver that can stand a chance, but it wasn't enough for him to stop my cruise to the 53rd win. Then the RC F race, which can be described with my cheeky tweet below:

That sucks cant tune for tire life :/

Did first run after work and what a mess.

I've gotten more or less used to how the crowds go into the serious corners and as long as everybody cool keep separation Im okay now in the GT-R. Its better suited for me only a week in Im still Sport Green.

I dont know why but it seems somebody targeted me and went after me with some hits MAY even of tried to mess me up on a turn one him flying to the inside but I was watching him come in rearview, & just waited for him to go by before turning in ;) he flew on by, then off the track lol C'yah wish I could of given him a Stirling Moss wave as I went on by lol

I made an aggressive move on a veyron right after getting nudged off track Senna would of been proud lol not PD tho, got nose in just in time, we rubbed but neither got bent out of shape over it, I did lose some SR with the orange indicator letting me know I made too aggressive a move.

A Porsche then did pinch me out a corner after I went wide to give him space cuz I seen him coming but it didn't seem intentional he just didn't seem to follow any racing line all race.

More SR down :( SR 89

I had a B/S driver start behind me in the 8pm C race trying to race from the back. He was not as fast as me and definitely not as experienced to compensate for traffic. He hit me 4 or 5 times and I ended up with 5 sec penalties in total from him following too close in traffic. Once I got clear of traffic I left him behind. -7 SR for that race.

In the next race he started behind me again yet crashed into a track re-entry early in lap 1, never trust ghosts. He ended with the red S this time further back and I'm at 99 SR again, all is good.

Ooh, full room next, starting 19th, well 18th, one didn't make it into the room of course.

Here is the replay of that race. Keep in mind I got low steering aids on left over from trying to compete with the Lambo & a DS4 Not suited for that car just yet, too green

I only did one race tonight, race C, featuring @Sven Jurgens and possibly a few others I didn’t recognize, everyone in the room seemed to know SvennoJ. :)

I started 2nd, but the guy in third was much quicker so I ended up having to let him by just before the hairpin on lap one, I could tell I was holding him up, he was right on my but from turn 2, After that I never got closer than 1.5s to him, he was really fast.

The guy behind got close a couple times early on but just before the pit stop he started to fall back, I saw one slip in the rear view but he didn’t go all the way around I don’t think, it was coming out of the hairpin on lap 4 or 5 I think. By lap 8 I had a 4.5s lead on him and I kinda cruised a bit the last two laps to ensure no effe ups and ended up with a clean third for the race and a cool 1200 DR points, just shy of 20k, only 25k more to go to get back to where I was before haha. :D

Raced B twice tonight. A win and a 2nd. Still not up to speed. Q is at a 33.4(?), but I know I have a 32 in me. Still playing with cars. Raced the Lexus, but did 33's with the Mazda, the mustang, the Ford GT, the Lambo and the Aston. Still not sure which will work best for me, but I raced the Lexus because I set my Q with it, and I was .2 faster than the next fastest car. Got my SR back to B (barely). I won't have much time to race until the weekend, but I'll try to run Suzuka once I feel I'm consistant enough not to get in the way. Ran about 10 laps and did a 52.4, but I really only had 2 laps without a major mistake. Need some time to find a rhythm.

That was one of my best races so far, managed to steal the fastest lap.

Last time I did Suzuka I started last and stayed last. GR.2 suits me much better!

@Groundfish was in the next race. Unfortunately he got taken out by someone before I could race him. I'm not really over taking people at all on Suzuka, 90% is simply passing people that screw up or get taken out by another car. I did make some nice passes yet most of it is avoiding accidents while staying consistent.

11pm race, disconnected while loading, hence wasting time here. I did restart the game and it still diisconnected me :( I'm now signed up for Interlagos in the Lexus. Let's see if I still remember the brake points for that track. Jump in cold turkey, best way to learn to swim...

FFS, dropped back to race select screen. Restart ps4 maybe. I guess I'll wait, Fuji GR.4 nah.

Ow. Entered up on c.
I’m not a huge fan of gr2 for some reason on Suzuka. Anyhow started tenth and was up into I think 8th via carnage, running by myself pretty much when I decided to enter spoon a bit hot, no worries corrected and was getting setup for exit, and mucked up and spun...
Got trapped back into maybe 13th?
This led to getting mini punted twice at turn 1. Eh no worries. I survived back to eleventh after it was done.
Had one minor incident into the tight chicane.
Tried to tuck in after a guy who had been annoying me for a lap and we touched. He was inside I was outside on turn in somehow his car got upset and away I went.
Sorry bud I was trying to tuck in but you slowed so much alongside me...
Sr 99 dr loss 100.
Next time I should maybe try not to take myself out...
I saw @Sven Jurgens go by. No, that was all my doing rofl.

Lol up n down with SR dropped to 82 on some dumbstuf .Way back up (90 now) caught penalties for going wide n tiniest of cuts on 2 races in a row... SR still blue n went up. I raced clean but hit or cut I went out a touch n got dinged but SR was still going up so ahhhight

Losing some DR but after thinking about it. Im okay with that. 8 days I've had the game now I'm a B driver still feeling out the tracks and cars in this new environment. Once I get more familiar do some more single player stuff I'm going to move up DR more Im sure

Here is a video of my qualifying lap at Interlagos in the Porsche 911 RSR. Lap time: 1:33,398
The videos is from yesterday (wife claimed the tv for today:( )and I know I can improve a lot. Have only been using a wheel for a month now so it's still new to me. Even using manual gears in a racing game is new to me so excuse me for using tcs:p

And here is my first (kinda dirty) victory in daily race B.

Out of interest, what was your time on a controller (DS4) before getting the G29? I qualified on a 1.34.03 a few weeks back at Interlagos with a controller. I got a G29 over the Christmas break and like yourself only have broken play with real life consuming so much. At first I couldn't even keep the car on the road. With practice and some play with torque and sensitivity settings I am down to a 1.34.68 with the G29 now but still can't find that .5 of a second like I did with the controller. Dropped from DR B to DR C last night in my first online races since getting the wheel. Still, I definitely enjoy it more.

If I'm not mistaken, I did a 1:32.6 with the Atenza, but I think I can still go a bit quicker with the WRX. It's more stable through the slow and technical sections. I'm on DS4 btw.

I saw that you had the fastest lap, that couldn’t have been easy while dodging traffic on Suzuka, especially since the guys in first and second were both flying out in the clear, great race Sir!! I was expecting to see you popping up in my rear view by the end of lap 10, you weren’t far behind by that point. :)

I will have to check because I have a replay saved from an older daily race at interlagos. I think it was something like 1.33.6xx. Will update this post when I get home. I ran that time in a Beetle GR3 with automatic transmission and tcs at 2. The beetle is easier to control than the RSR so i'm very happy that I could finnaly beat my DS4 time with a wheel in a car that felt harder to control and using manual transmission. I should be able to get another .5 of my lap because it felt really sloppy.

I dropped from DR B to DR D the first time racing online with a wheel:P and it took me a very long time to beat my DS4 times (about a month). My bad wheel laps are now as fast as my (to me) perfect DS4 laps.

Check it out

I really believe unserved penalty across the finish line adds a penalty.

I got me a penalty on the last lap. Fighting for position Im holding off a Viper I take the outside line into the final Essesfie a Viper makes a move & comes in from the inside, so I give him room, still wheels on rumble strip I get either a contact or a short cut penalty not sure EITHER one unnecessary eally. I have a touch over 1 sec to serve as I cross the line in 4th but get pushed down to 7th in the results. Lame got some Some slow drivers in fast cars make a pain in the rump. They driving all over the track and same time fghting for positions cause of the car.

Seriously? Is this really the racing PD want to penalty? Seems they trying to take a lot of the Racing out of Racing.

Here we go again, 630 am. 5 entries, starting 4th. There is another A/S and the lowest is SR.C, improvement over yesterday. Pole A/S has a one bar connection, jumps around a bit and gets disconnected in the swervy bit. One car crashes before that and now I'm in 2nd. The car that crashed is a driver I recognize from last night, he has the pace to keep up with me. Especially now since first is holding me back a bit. Neither of us can make a pass though so 3rd pits in lap 3 already to get a jump on us. That was my plan to pass first by pitting in lap 4 yet he beat me to it. I pit in lap 4 anyway yet due to getting slowed down by first, 3rds plan works and he passes me as I exit the pit.

I know he's slow in the second part though and while my tires are freshest I out brake him for the chicane, clean pass. First is now in the pit and we both pass him. I'm in the lead, yet 2nd is slightly faster until the hairpin while I'm faster from there. The gap shrinks to 0.6, then grows to 1.4 again. On average it slowly grows though as his tires are a lap older and in the end he loses it in the final lap. Victory with clean race bonus and fastest lap.

7 am race. 9 entries. There is a D/E driver starting in front of me. The D/.E driver ghost passes through 7th in the S curves, then he messes up the sharp right before the hairpin. Former 7th goes wide when trying to avoid the D/E driver. D/E then goes wide in the hairpin and I pass him on the inside, now I'm in 7th with him right behind. I brake a bit late for Spoon, driving on the edge to avoid his expected dive. He goes wide and I lose him. He quits soon after when he gets to last.

Later I get in a battle with the same driver from last race again. He goes wide, I pass. He pits in 4 and gets the jump on me. We are 5th and 6th now. He goes wide again, I pass again. I go wide in the chicane, just one wheel on the green yet apparently that's enough to ghost me briefly and he attempts to pass through me. I make room, get out of his car on the outside, which unghosts me. However he can't hold on to the inside line, leaves me no room and bumps me wide. 3 sec penalty for him which he serves on the straight. I regain 5th. He goes wide again a lap later and rage quits. Too early as the next lap my kids are up and now I really go wide in the chicane. He could have easily passed me there. I get my **** together and finish the race in 5th. Too many mistakes for a fastest lap or get close to 4th.

Seriously? Is this really the racing PD want to penalty? Seems they trying to take a lot of the Racing out of Racing.

You got a short cut penalty at 7:22. A contact penalty is always a round number. And penalties are rounded up to the nearest second when you cross the finish with them. 1.001 sec penalty becomes 2 sec at the finish. It's been like that since the start, hence it's better to serve it to at least right under a whole number.

Daaaaayum they got me hard on that was pretty much 1.0 something or other :/ full second added could of save that letting off before the line :(

At least I know that now lol

Was it really a short cut. No room unless I pushed into the viper and looked very much like I never went deeper than the rumble strip.

Boundaries are oddly tight on some areas and seemingly free game on others....

The relationship between SR and DR much of the issue.

To gain DR we need to beat better drivers but cannot Race them we must wait for them to make a mistake as challenging for a position cost SR.

So its run like TT gapped by our qualifying time gaps from start to finish. Positions change if people make mistakes and DR goes up while SR is preserved. We have to rely on the better driver in front to make a mistake in order to gain and if nobody makes a mistake you gain nothing lose nothing if SR already 99.

So far DR seems more important to me. SR kinda arbitrary as S don't really mean anything with D/C/E next to it. However SRS with A and over DR tells me something. They have preserved SR while pushing DR up. Mucking up your SR kills DR so them dudes who go up and down on SR usually have silly low DR.

From what I've gathered is one can Fleece SR and even Fleece win counts but I've not seen anybody able to fleece DR and the guys I've seen S/S or +A/S are remarkable.

I did my race. Whooooo! I qualified P5!!!!! <bouncehopspin!!!!!>. It was a massive grid:

Suzuka_Grid_100119.jpg

As you can see I was all over this! Race starts and we are away! No one to dive bomb me at T1 :p. After 2 laps I found myself in P2 :scared:. I hung on to that position for most of the race, and my tyres started to go off. My 14s gap soon shrank as my tyres turned to mush, but i didn't think I had the luxury of pitting. Lap 8 saw me slip down as the cars behind me caught up as I fought to stay on the track. HighStakes123 was about 1/2 a lap in front when I had that 14s lead over P3 . Finished P4, but only because P5 was a DNF.

SR 99, DR dropped by less that 100, so not too bad :dopey:. Day 5 crusing the DR/C highway.

Similar to your experience I'm finding that I'm faster in different cars between DS4 and wheel. More notable however is again like you the set up is different. I used to run with CSA (?counter steer assist), ABS default and no other assists. With the wheel I turned off CSA but had to use TCS2, then reduced it to 1 and and now I'm using nothing but ABS default. Happy that I'm not only getting faster but also not relying on assists to do it.

Well done getting those times in auto transmission BTW. I've always played manual, not so only for acceleration but I C=couldn't imagine trying to slow for corners using brakes only.
