Daaaaayum they got me hard on that was pretty much 1.0 something or other :/ full second added could of save that letting off before the line :(

At least I know that now lol

Was it really a short cut. No room unless I pushed into the viper and looked very much like I never went deeper than the rumble strip.

Boundaries are oddly tight on some areas and seemingly free game on others....

Yep, track limits are inconsistent and it seems there it actually is keep 2 wheels inside the white line. It's better to use radar so you can see the other car coming from your blind spot.

It sucks that you get a penalty for avoiding a collision. PD rather wants you to stick to the track and risk SR Down instead of doing what they suggest in the etiquette video. However you can also avoid short cut penalties by slowing down as they are triggered on time gained, however small.

The Viper did turn in on you as you still had significant overlap at turn in to have a right to the apex while he was coming from behind. He left you less than a car width. Although some people argue that that car width includes off track space as long as you can keep 2 wheels on the kerb, I don't agree.

Not that the game cares, but if he had bumped you into that short cut he would have gotten 3 sec.

I can never drive from the behind the car view since like GT2 or something.

I prefer cockpit cam for emersion but competing its giving myself tunnel vision for nothing. The roof cam feels really high up too.

I keep the right joystick for shoulder checks and somewhat use my rearview, the lil red indicator on the dash together and the side with somebody in a blind spot gets a little bit darker that's how I know to stay wide some corners without making a head look. If screen getting dark on a side they are close.

Or did you mean the track map thingie, i think I saw a radar type thing option after the adjusters but didnt look too much into it

My SR has crept up to 99 again so back with a bunch of super fast guys. Had an enjoyable night, qualified around 8th or so of 14 in race B but was able to pick off a few places in each race, finishing around 4th of 5th.

It's surprising that in a SR S race one can be MORE aggressive with passes as you know you will get a little room. I return the favour of course but it's good to have confidence to make a move without fear of getting the door shut and a big collision, i went through all of sector 1 and half of sector 2 side by side with a guy and we barely touch, that requires co-operation from both parties at interlagos.

It's called spatial awareness. That's what seperates the SR S from the SR A!

Spatial awareness is great, but in an open wheel car, that is still rolling the dice. Wheels touch...just before the right in the in car, you can see the fronts almost touch tread to tread. Could have launched into space there! At least when we launch, we only get reset.

Sneaky guy lol So drafting viper down the straights Im going to get my nose by him before the braking zone. Suddenly he pulls to the right and puts on his left flasher. Im thinking he's waving me by so go to the outside to merc the corner but as I go to turn in he cuts me off on the inside...

A little bit suspect to me. That was clearly waving me by going all the way to the inside then putting the flasher on for me. So he should of given me My optimum line not only for the wave by but I was ahead of him going in the braking zone.

That corner its real easy to block the outside lane going inside like that.

I thought one second, right on, guys really proper but got shafted.

Well reality no harm no foul thats racing, I just thought it was a little tricky to wave me by then block me :/ unless he waved me by to keep me on the outside so he could block me ;) no harm no foul but I aint going to leave the draft or accept the wave by like that no more... Gonna be, No thank you, Ill just take it in the next few corners if I didnt take it in that one.

Open wheel, yes! But here we are talking about a 7 times F1 WC Michael Schumacher going wheel to wheel with the 2007 F1 WC Kimi Raikkonen. These guys know what they are doing, trust me!

I jumped into a race c to redeem myself.
Started second, not many playing right now apparently this was not a full sr s room. Some competitive qual times down to about eight.
No stop win 27 seconds to second...
Sr 99 baby picked up several hundred other also.

2 Races at Fuji this morning. Pretty awesome time.

2nd race I was stuck behind a car for 2 laps, inches behind, I tried to pass but bumped, got a warning. Another car came by at the perfect time, I let them pass and those 2 cars battled, they bumped, I passed just before the final straight. Exactly how I planned. Mwhahaha. :p

Similar to your experience I'm finding that I'm faster in different cars between DS4 and wheel. More notable however is again like you the set up is different. I used to run with CSA (?counter steer assist), ABS default and no other assists. With the wheel I turned off CSA but had to use TCS2, then reduced it to 1 and and now I'm using nothing but ABS default. Happy that I'm not only getting faster but also not relying on assists to do it.

Well done getting those times in auto transmission BTW. I've always played manual, not so only for acceleration but I C=couldn't imagine trying to slow for corners using brakes only.
I need to do more running without tcs. I think it slows me down but I get really frustrated when I spin a lot :banghead:.

I feel like driving with auto transmission is easier because I can focus more on steering and braking. I remember working very hard at getting a time of 1.30.9xx in the daily C fuji 2 weeks ago on manual transmission (no tcs). Than 1 did one try on automatic in the same car and I was .5 seconds faster on my first try . I know I am faster on auto for now, but I refuse to switch back because I want to get better with manual.

I just checked my fastest DS4 time @ Interlagos in the Beetle GR3: 1.33.595

What's your experience with the braking on a wheel? It's where I feel I lose the most time per lap.

Don't know what happened, but just a thought. I've ended up with blinkers on, or hazards, and I'm not sure what turned them on...the signal may have been a bump on a switch on his wheel. The rest...well...

I'm always very wary of reading into what someone is doing with their blinkers on. In the real world you use them to tell other cars where you are going. Often in GT Sport it's used to say "pass me on this side", so in effect the opposite meaning. As Rex said sometimes people put them on by accident. I've seen people have their hazard lights on for the entire race. It's entirely possible I've done it too!

I don't think so. Veyron and...maybe a G-TR? I thought the car was orange though.

If so, thanks for the race. I wasn't trying to gloat. I got lucky.

I'm in a silver/black TT w/Nandos livery.

2 more races in...Race b, holding position running alone, kinda goin slow, got punted a bit and passed final lap by 2 super aggressive morons, passed one back on the last left...
Race c started sixth, lap 2 punted in hairpin, intentional. Pitted lap 4. Lap five ran by the punter.
Lap six punts me before chicane.
Obvious cheat.
Tried to catch and was like plus 4 seconds and messed up a bit and just gave in and finished.
Watching replay, classic punt. Just usin me as a brake...Sigh, no more early day play for me.
Same guy. Called him out in chat to no response.
Meh.
Sr 99 so all good.
I gave myself bad luck, what was it several posts back about not seeing punters? Lol
I don’t see that stuff during peak hours though. Literally, the guy that punted me was the only one around me after the pit. Leaders gone. I guess he really really wanted to cheat to get 1 spot rofl. What a maroon!
I am enjoying driving Suzuka gr2 now though, although I think on this track I prefer lower classes.

Yes where you have the track map, go one over and you get it zoomed in with the cars represented as triangles. After a while you will get a feeling for how close you can be to the other triangles. It's much easier than relying on the screen edges darkening.

Add 20 ms of lag to that and bye bye wheels.

No wasnt me but sounds like a good time.

Mine all white MiSMO street car look-a-like

I think I see a guy who's not affraid to win by any means and just fleece his SR up.

I'd like to think some good driving pushed his DR up to those levels but looks much like when his DR is on the rise his SR sky diving, then the falling SR brings down the DR in a plummet. At this point SR starts to go up while DR drops more. Once SR back up again DR starts going up and SR going down.

Never seems to level off at any point always shooting up then falling off a cliff.

Im using a sheet of paper to try and line up SR to DR spikes & plummet

SR on the rise with DR falling seems like driving at the back to build SR

DR going up and SR going down seems like hitting better drivers off the track to beat them for DR

Out of the last 10 or so races I've taken penalties in about 6 of them for cuts only and never got a red or white S always blue sitting at 99.

Cuts to avoid collisions sure saves SR and if you time it right wont tottaly kill your race the penalties are small.

Stats update my DR is leveling off somewhat at 1700 level B. This is okay Im only 7 days online and 12 or so with the game lot to unlearn from GT6 and fet used to in GT6

First day of Sport Mode went well but I still have much to learn. I want to apologize for rear-ending two drivers today and ruining their chance to win. I wish I could go back in time and not make those mistakes again.

I did Daily Race B because I'm not comfortable with the cars or tracks in the other races. Using the Porsche 911 and Lexus RC F, I ended the day with 4 wins out of 8 races. Not being able to control my anxiety, I made a few costly mistakes and some of those mistakes affected others. My best qualy lap was a 1:32.6xx in the Porsche but ran a 1:32.3xx in a race (I was driving angry). The plan for the rest of my night is to learn how to run 1:31's, learn the line for Daily Race C, and reflect on what I learned because the driver skill got a lot better far quicker than I thought it would. I finished the day with 6.6k DR (DR C) and 88 SR (SR S).

What an e optional rollercoaster ride lol

Had race after race after race super clean Blue S every time but sitting at 99

Then Fuji turn one punted across track to other side spun around .............. To add insult to injury 5 second penalty . 11 points off SR to 89. Next race this same dude who targeted me yesterday is back and hits me off again so I get a 3.5 second penalty and 7 more points off SR now at 83 rrrrrrrrrr
