If that's for race C, you can probably stop qualifying. That would be a good Gr.2 time. 👍
Haha my bad, could the Red Bull car even get around in under 2 minutes? That would be a crazy lap to watch!

Depends what SR you are at. If you’re B or lower, starting at the back might be a decent strategy, as you avoid the mess at the start, and if you’re pace is good you’ll catch up. If your SR is A or S though, I’ve been starting in the top 5 almost every race for the Nurb race, and not having any problems with dirty driving (so far). It’s actually been a pleasant suprised to find so many clean drivers in public races. Also, at SR A and S, people tend to be a lot faster (even if their DR is not the highest), so it can be a lot harder to catch up.
With the tires, brake early, that’s their main weakness (the car isn’t exactly slow either). For cornering, really focus on being precise and placing the car bang1on the racing line, in the dark rubber grooves that are down on the track. You get so much more extra grip on the racing line compared to being even 1/2 a car width off of it.
People get impatient at the Ring and will always stick their nose on the inside if you don't defensively take control of the apex. If someone is behind me and I swing wide of the apex, I just assume they're going to dive and I keep to the outside expecting them to swing wide of the exit. This usually gives them the pass but sometimes they'll over shoot and scrub their speed to stay on the track at which point you pass them to regain position. Typically though, if they're driving that aggressively they're bound to make a mistake so you just have to pressure them and wait for it.
How did you do it? Were you able to try using 3rd for most corners? Finally!

I’m SR S and DR C. Had DR at B briefly but trying to race clean I keep getting cut off on corners. I guess I’m trying to race clean and DR will be what it is. Still below 100 races total for all online racing experience.
What are people’s on bump drafting on the long straights in Race B? If it’s ok, how far from a braking zone should the last bump happen?
If you qual say at 4 of 16, and end up 8 of 16, does DR drop? Or stay same or go up as long as you’re still in the top half? What are people’s on bump drafting on the long straights in Race B? If it’s ok, how far from a braking zone should the last bump happen?
If you’re SR-S, I’d say it’s worth it to qualify. Most people at SR-S are clean enough (mistakes still happen), and the higher you qualify the more chance you have of increasing your DR.

Wow, PD, like to troll much. I just got put into a daily B room as the only B/S driver, rest all C/S and D/S, starting right in the middle. It was nothing like racing or driving even, just pinball all the way. Despite never getting a penalty or SR down, neutral rating at the end from all the received blows. I finally escaped the last ramming Brazilian at Pflanzgarten. I think he was missing his brake pedal. Next room 3 B/S, rest all D/S. WTF is going on. The mostly D/S room was better behaved, mainly due to ghosting kicking in much sooner in DR.D. Also props to the Brazilian following me, never hitting me, while having to brake hard a couple times for traffic messing up in front. Next up, back to A+/S to B/S, my SR crawled up to 91, that's what the problem was.

I haven’t figured out how it all works.
It depends on your DR and that of the other drivers. Finish position is all that counts, where you start is irrelevant.
DR is a point exchange system, you take points from drivers you finish in front of and give points to those that finish ahead.
Base starts at 80 points per driver, so finishing 8 of 18 you lose 7x80 and gain 10x80.
However the difference between your DR and the driver you give/gain points from matters.
The difference between yours and their DR varies the amount by 80 points, the actual amount you gain/lose is 1 to 160 points per driver.
For every 500 DR points difference you get an extra point if the DR of the driver you beat is higher than yours.
For every 500 DR points difference you lose an extra point if the DR of the driver you finish behind is lower than yours.
SR doesn't matter, you said DR of other players varied from E to C.
DR.A+ runs from 50k to 75k
DR.A runs from 30k to 50k
DR.B runs from 10k to 30k
DR.C runs from 4k to 10k
DR.D runs from 0k to 4k
DR.E means you have not yet completed 5 races, they don't count. You don't get actual DR points until completing your fifth race.
If your DR is DR.B at 20K and you finish behind a DR.C driver with 5K, you lose 80 + (15,000 / 500) = 110 points to that driver
If your DR is DR.B at 20K and you finish in front of a DR.C driver with 5K, you gain 80 - (15,000 / 500) = 50 points from that driver
If your DR is DR.B at 20K and you finish behind a DR.A driver with 40K, you lose 80 - (20,000 / 500) = 40 points to that driver
If your DR is DR.B at 20K and you finish in front of a DR.A driver with 40K, you gain 80 + (20,000 / 500) = 120 points from that driver
It depends on the other people in the room how high you need to finish to gain DR. If you are the only DR.B in a DR.C to DR.D room, you probably have to finish top 5 or top 3 to gain points. A lower rated driver finishing ahead of you takes away a lot of points, while you gain little from beating them.
Your next question is likely where do you find out your DR

Unless they changed it in the last update, bump drafting gets the car in front SR Down for every bump, so it's generally not advised. What are people’s on bump drafting on the long straights in Race B? If it’s ok, how far from a braking zone should the last bump happen?
I tried a no stop on Bathurst. Unfortunately there was a dirty player blocking and bumping me off 3 times before he pitted in lap 5. He had 17 sec of penalties by that time, didn't finish the race and left with a red D. So my fastest lap was only 2:06 after he put me in the gravel at the bottom of the hill and I had some room to race until I caught him at forest elbow again, so he could punt me off at the bottom of the hill again....
Anyway, the tires were shot by the end of the race, perhaps worse from driving through gravel 3 times. Rear right only had 1 pixel left and my last laps were 2:;11, 2:12, and not in time for the finish. Probably a second slower again. The pit stop only lasts 9 seconds, so not worth it.

I've seen enough to know that I will skip this weeks daily races. I like The Ring and Bathurst but I can't see any good racing come of it at ratings C/S and B/S. Tokyo is meh.. Will stick to doing qualy laps to improve my skills on the wheel.
Maybe it has to do with the time of day, or something. I've done 3 Bathurst race so far, and never been hit by anyone. I'm gonna start another one in a few minutes. I may have just been getting lucky. We'll see.I did two more races over the mountain with stopping. I'm faster over all with a one stop for sure. However first race I got punted off by a South American of course, he did not finish the race. In fact only 5 people finished that race, 6 quit or got disqualified. I finished 4th or 1 up from last lol.
The next race was more populated, if you can call it a race. There was one lap where I did not get rammed off. The worst was this

A dirty Argentinian trying to take revenge on a dirty Brazilian. That Brazilian rammed me off 3 times in the race before he finally quit or got disqualified. Two other Brazilians also rammed me off during the race. I'm done with Bathurst, it's unplayable like this. Split the server again, it was better. Most of the room had red ratings, including all the South Americans. Most Brazilians either left with a red B or DNF. This is not confirmation bias anymore when it happens every day. To be fair, the a-hole in the first race where I tried a no stop was a Canadian. (The no stop at least worked to get rid of that piece of work, never saw him again)
Back to Nordschleife later, less walls to keep dirty drivers on the road or bounce back into your path. It's a miracle the brush hasn't caught on fire at Bathurst with the amount of sparks flying everywhere over the mountain.
Luckily my SR never suffered, no booboos by the penalty system, still 99, (Well one SR Down when getting bumped off in T2, didn't affect my rating) DR loss a bit less than a 1000.
Like Bathurst wasn't hard enough? Yeah let's do it at night to make it even more funThat’s my plan too I think, this thread is reading like a Stephen King novel right now lol.

2nd mistake: decided last minute to race and used the car I happened to be in at the time rather than the one I would have done best in. Used the Lexus which is nice but I've only 200KM on it in total. Found coming down the dipper that the back gets really light. Nice car but not my weapon of choice.
3rd mistake: second race used a favoured car, Vantage with over 5,000 KM (not fastest quali but I know her so well it is reassuring to drive) but put it on hard tires to try and no stop, which is fine but all of my tests had been on unworn softs. Missed braking points all over the place. Needed a sand wedge to get out of the chase and found a piece of grass on at forest that I never even noticed before.
I was able to beat my Race C time by 2 tenths, I love this track as a time trial but the thought of a race of it is scary lol.
I couldn’t beat my time for Race A though, but I did come within a tenth of it, I forgot to save my replays yesterday so today’s are all I got. Hopefully I can beat them again tomorrow.
