It's never worked, this happens .....

Reason why I don't like racing Bathurst online, the impatience of the average person. Its a skillful drivers track. Just because you can see daylight in front of the car. When you are racing that close you always have to be mindful of what effect your maneuvers will have on the rest of the pack.

i don't get the impatience. There are two clear passing zones. Get a good, strong exit from T1 and pass into Griffith's bend, this is the commonsense place to pass given the camber works for you.

Same applies for the chase but it is trickier given the tail likes to wag under braking there.

But at this level, outside of SR S and A drivers, mistakes will be made across the top if you pressure someone, it's damn near inevitable, just wait, they'll bin it if you stick with them.

That's always been my tactic, stick to them like glue and wait for the mistake. Pressure is a mofo

Seond race (2::30pm) on Bathurst. I started 16th, finished 8th after getting bumped off 3 times.

First by a DR.D driver in an Atenza that didn't brake in time in the cutting after I passed him cleanly through quarry bend. No penalty for him although he punted me into the wall. He crashed soon after so didn't see him again. Next a wreck spinning back on the track near the pit entry. He must have unghosted for a micro second when crossing the road as he punted me almost into the pit. He came out ahead but also crashed a bit later. Last a GT-R, Brazilian nose sticking in at Skyline after turn in, bumping me into the gravel. GT-Rs sigh. He said he was side by side, checked the replay, he was still behind while we were both already turning....

3 pm race. Started 16th, last. Pretty good race, only incident was a Mexican in a GT-R crashing in the dipper, not ghosting, could not avoid and the car behind me not slowing at all. I ended up doing a nice nose stand past the dipper lol. I pitted in lap 5 again which put one of the fast players behind me over the mountain. Another Brazilian, Everson, a gentleman on the track. I was going to let him pass at the straight on Skyline yet he fumbled the turn so he passed down conrod, no issues. It was a fast room, finished 10th. Fastest lap was 2:00.7, my best 3.5 sec slower, I'm out classed. @Voodoovaj was in that race, in a GT-R. Don't drive that car! I only saw him briefly in the distance in lap 5 after he already pitted.

Btw, the Brazilian that bumped me off in the previous race messaged me after watching the replay. He apologized, that's sportmanship. I messaged back to thank him and said I will pit in lap 4 from now on. I keep holding up the early pit stoppers on my lap 5 softs. Apparently the top all likes to pit early. I rather wait until lap 5 as not to get stuck behind the slower drivers again, however that makes me the slower driver :O

Does anyone know how to work the headlights on the DS4? I looked at the settings menus, and it says to use L3, but that just seems to make the lights flash. I was wondering how to switch from high to low beams. Also, I'm working on a theory about turning them completely off at times, to be sneaky and freak the other guys out. :mischievous:

On my wheel anyways, the setting for high/low was unused and I had to assign it to a button so it may be the same for the DS4. On the screen that lets you remap the controller there is a box you can click on Down on the bottom right corner that will show all unassigned options if I remember correctly, or maybe is just shows all available options that can be assigned, the but high/low option is in there. There is also an option to just flash the lights in there a second well.

Edit: I was wrong, close, but still wrong lol. I just had unused buttons on my wheel that I was able to assign it too is all, but there is two options for lights for a DS4, Flash and toggle High/Low and just Toggle High Low, you can assign it to any button you wish. :)

I cannot fathom why anyone would pit later than lap 4.

It makes more sense, however the backfield all pit in lap 5... If the gap is less than 9 sec you are guaranteed to get stuck behind them again. However I think I prefer that over being in the way of a car on fresh softs. It's easier to avoid when behind a car.

Try pressing and holding the L3 button for 2 seconds. If I remember correctly, clicking L3 flashes the headlights and holding L3 flicks them on or off. It might permanently leave them on during night races though, with dusk being the only time you can actually choose to turn them on or off.

Thank you. It looks like most of my buttons are set up differently than yours.

Always happy to help out sir. :)

Also, did you guys know that reverse has TCS even when TCS is turned off? I’m trying to run C with TCS off tonight and I’ve found myself needing reverse a lot so far lol.
It's also on if you're in the gravel as well

Race B at dirty hour. It's actually not all that dirty today. Perhaps the penalty system already flushed the toilet. I did end up with a penalty in one race. Car in front of me hits an unsafe track re-entry 2 corners before the finish, then hits him again. This time I can't avoid and slightly bump his bumper. It has no effect on him yet apparently I was marked for that, as right after the first car takes revenge on the car that bumped him, smashes him against the wall, gets 3 sec penalty and I get 2 sec for being too close... Lost 3 position at the finish from these 2 fighting in front of me.

I still get bumped off about every race, just once though, much better than yesterday. Last race I finally was allowed to stay on the track and finished 5th. Next, starting 9th of 11, I haven't seen any full rooms yet.

Hmm same thing again. Final section, car in front messes up, goes off, punts the car in front of him into the wall and turns into an unavoidable road block with the pinball physics. Somehow I get the higher penalty... 5 sec. Collateral damage again.

1:29.005!! So close!! Yet so far away lol. If I hadn’t grazed the wall in the final corner I had it too, oh well. :)

My rollover count is now up to 2 as well, flipped the GTR up on the top of the Mountain pushing too hard haha. :)

Whatever happened to Alpha Cipher? Haven't seen him post here in awhile but I see him in the qualifying leaderboards frequently.
I recently wondered about that, too. Who knows? I also wondered what happened to a guy named YoungVisionair, who was a really great driver, that just vanished. KP says he hasn't qualified for a race since April 2018. He was A+ when he disappeared.
Maybe they're in jail.

I did my first 2 races C of the week today. Got pole on the first one and finished second. Started on 9th position on the second one and finished 8th. Rating was D/B, now it's D/S (so it says on kudosprime anyway)

That being said ... What is it with people flashing their lights like crazy when they're behind ?? I try to race as clean as possible and leave room if the other player is way faster than me. But if you can't pass me cleanly with half the track to yourself .... than be it ! I won't block you intentionaly but I won't slow down just so you can be in front of me. It is a race after all !

Rant over ;)

Yes, I passed the guy who had spun me at Cutting later at Hells corner on inside with a bit of a block compromising both our exits but not touching. I covered inside at Griffins...Funny part he tried to flash me just before the brake zone and went wide haha never saw him again...
He was so concentrated on trying to eff me up with the lights he ran wide. Loved it.
Also I think using d pad a certain way sometimes inadvertently flashes lights.

It's multi-class racing.

100% Mostert's fault in the M6. No way he should be that aggressive there with 1.5km of straight ahead of jim and 2 hours of racing left!

Insane.

?
He was pushed by the Porsche coming from behind, that caused the M6 to step out and take out the 2 other cars.

Ack, I blamed the wrong person tonight. A car turned in on me at the final section and bounced himself of then tapping my rear right bumper, 3 sec penalty, cost me 3 positions at the finish. Unfortunately I blamed the other Canadian after the race while checking the replay. The car hitting me had a big 8 on the side, the Canadian was in 8th position at that time, but not the car with door number 8 of course :banghead: I apologized by message after checking the replay again. One 8 is not the other 8 doh.

The Nordschleife was fun tonight. I'm so close to DR.A again, less than 800 DR to go. Racing is so much cleaner at night. There were still a few troublemakers yet those have gone to bed now. The last room I was in had only one neutral rating, rest blue. First time no red ratings this week. My best was a second place finish, first still 6 seconds away. Perhaps I'll qualify tomorrow and go for some victories. The only thing is, I have no experience driving the first section at full speed, always riding the brakes through there.

Oh well, it was just one 'no red' race. Next one had two red A's and a white one. SR.A is being let in again. Time to quit before it goes pinball again. This race already almost started as a disaster when the car behind me forced a 3 wide before even getting to the two turns before the start.

I am planning to try the M3 tonight. Yes, much slower and usually on Bathurst with the long straights it would be beaten on speed but I think in the dark it's more important to just keep the damn thing on the track and the M3 is about the best for that IMO.

I did some prequalifying laps with the M3 last night since I was contemplating using it tonight, but didn't wan't to waste my time doing the livery if it was no good. The lights are so much better than the Mustang, WRX and Beetle! Bit of a handful and super stiff though. It really doesn't like kerbs, especially the entrance to The Chase. I was able to beat my WRX time by a second with hards. Might try medium/medium and see how I go.
