Done for the week...ran some laps at the Nord...bested my time by a tenth or so, but that was with a major off. I ran 6 full laps and my optimal time was a 7:46, so it's just a matter of holding it together. I'm thinking I'll do better with the GT3 on real tires.

Only 2 more races left before the change.

My last race was a mess, undoing 6 races of DR in one swipe. I zoned out and missed a braking point, did not hit anyone yet dropped to 7th into the chaos. I had a stunt driver swerve blocker in front of me. I let the driver behind me through as I couldn't pass and he wanted through. The swerve blocker made the car I let through swerve in the braking zone, I couldn't avoid. I waited for him to recover yet then I got bump passed at the Karoussel and rammed into the wall, dropped to 12th, I never expected a dive there. I made it back to 9th, -6 SR, -800 DR. This is not a good way to say goodbye to the Nordschleife.

The previous race was much better. Great battle with an A+ driver who I finally managed to pass on the straight for my fastest race time this week, 8:04.192 from second. That put me up to 48K DR with a clean streak of 5 going. Now clean streak reset and back down to 47.2. Extremely hard to gather, so easy to lose.

Next race, started 3rd, dropped to 4th, got back to 3rd. +5 SR, +15 DR.

Btw the car for race A is the Shelby GT 350 '65. One more Nord race left.

Something weird is going on, here in the EMEA region at least... A and C have already changed (Shelby at Willow, Integra at Suzuka respectively) but B is still the same as last week (Porsche at Nurb). Unless PD are doing some weird staggered change or something?

It's the 1:50 race on now, races chance at 2 (am EST)
Its changed now, I guess I've never noticed it staggering before. So B is Gr.3 at Nurb GP. Even though I love Gr.3 thats one I definitely won't be doing (hate nurb GP with a passion, yawn inducing track). Old muscle car at Willow, no thanks. And Integra at Suzuka... at least it means I get to spend some of my 20m credits for once buying the Intergra

Edit: Oh, all of 23,600 credits :lol:

What a great way to end the week!

The last race had some nice competition worh 400 DR, to an end total of 47,667, didn't quite make it back to 48k.
I got lucky, second hit first, then served his penalty waiting for first to recover. Then I had another driver breathing down my tailpipe until the second half where I could create a little gap to win with 3 sec gap.

That puts my totals for Nordschleife at
474 races completed, 96 wins, 79 pole positions, 73% top 5 rate, avg finish position of 4.06.
By far my best track. Hopefully it won't take another 2 or 3 months to get it back!

Big Willow tomorrow, classic no qualy style. Donating my DR to however shows up

My plans on spending the weekend in Mount Panorama didn’t turn out as planned. Because of a friend returning back to town for the first time in a year, some beer and some liquor on Saturday, I was hungover for the better part of Sunday. But I did manage a great win in the last race of the weekend:tup:
Qualified P4, but started P3 thanks to a disconnection. Had a great battle the first laps, but after I got the lead on lap 3, it was pretty much over. Got a relatively easy win, with P2 ~6 seconds behind. Dr went up ~1000 points(still DrC) and got Sr back up to 99

Finished the week in a good way.
Concentrated on the Nurb Race B and I found that putting in a qual time of 7:46 put me around the top 5 in all races. I ended up winning 7/10 races which was great, two 2 star races, three 1 star and one 3 star race. Raised my SR to 99, DR by 10k to just under 15k.
The major lesson for me here is to take the time to learn the track, respect the track and the car, be patient and drive within yourself - learn where you can push little by little.

Might concentrate on Race B for this week.

Sweet. More suzuka. Seems to be a biweekly track. Love it. Looove. It.
GTS = Gran Turismo Suzuka.
Please PD, get your act together.

Not able to race this week :( so thought id upload an onboard reference lap kind of thing

For anyone doing the Nurburgring GP Race B who doesn't know the track that well or is debating over line choices/where they can drop their lap time etc hopefully this will help a little

I did this lap a while ago now and the penalties have changed slightly, so i don't you can't go as wide in T2 ( finally! ) and with physics changes and BOP alterations the lap time may not stand up, but at the time it finished 1st EMEA and 3rd in the world rankings so the lines and braking points etc are still good for a reference.

Hope it helps someone

Just waiting for the count down for Race A. Did some qualifying laps. Think they are ok for DR/D. I get bored doing hot laps. No point unless you race :p. Pretty forgiving car. Dropping down to 2nd as a Hail Mary has worked for me a few times just when I thought I was going to fall off the track 👍.

Edit: Race done. I qualified P6/10 on a grid with a couple of DR/Bs, the rest a mix of DR/C and D. I saw one orange SR and finished P6 about 15s ahead of those behind me, and 2s behind the guy ahead. I was hoping more people in front of me would slide off the track... they didn't. No one had a red dot.

Was hoping P6 was near enough to the middle taking beating DR/Cs into account that I'd gain some points. No such luck. Lost 20 DR but gained the jump to SR99.

I'll wait fro the midnight run for Race B. Race C I find uninspiring.

Does anyone know if side drafting works in GTS? I keep forgetting to try it to find out.

Race C is fun. All about driver skill and looking after the tyres.
In the couple of races I’ve done so far there have been good battles right through the field. I’ve mainly gone backwards though, but at least there is plenty of time to line up a move. It doesn’t feel boring when you’re in a battle from grid to the chequered flag. It can be tit for tat with the same few drivers throughout the entire race with some good door to door action.
The slower pace means people are generally more patient and more likely to attempt a pass in a realistic overtaking spot unlike the four lap sprint in race B where everyone seems to rush to try to get past anywhere and often the races aren’t clean.

Well...my final Monkey Business racing back at Bathurst in the McLaren just shrunk my SR down from 99 to 81, all due to my incompetence back then...

Nurb GP would be RSR Land for sure, but I'll make sure that the Flawless @Tidgney Pug gets the spotlight for my (hopefully) 80th Sport Mode win...

Well I have posted my first attempts at qualifying times for racing this week.

The Shelby GT350 I particularly enjoyed around Willow Springs though as ever the track is unforgiving if you are too fast into
corners but my time at the present is 1.31.631, not sure where that will put me in DR D but am in that race for fun and the
challenge.

Race B I have only tried the Toyota Supra and my time is 2.00.876 but I suspect I will go quicker if I try something else like the 911
since that seems about 5 seconds off and have yet to buy the car for Race C so will do that later.

I'm thinking I'll do better with the GT3 on real tires.

This, exactly. Sprint format races, no tire wear, why RH or SH? I ran the GT3 Ring event last night a few times- first time in "Sport" after a while off. Vastly more fun with the new tire model- just the fact I event entered the event is testament to that. Got under 8 flat, though just barely. With the current tire model, I think there's more to be had. I'll be back in this week!
