No, I did not know they existed until right now. Next time my throttle goes below 100% I'll ask for a non brand alternative at my game store. Is there maybe an adapter to use a XBox One controller? They have good triggers afaik.

Interesting, I always wondered about that. It does feel like the wheels don't turn far enough on some occasions. However I also have controllers with worn out analog sticks.... It's hard to find out where the difference is when the build quality of the DS4 is so low. At least GTS has the dead zone right. I have another controller where the cursor in games always drifts to the right.

Nope, disconnect is -5. However I think it always says --/E when you get disconnected. Only if it was a red E then it would be his real rating.
Ah, ok. Thank you.

The layout at Willow Springs is honestly insane. Their bizarre use of hard packed dirt mounds as barriers should be illegal. It makes for some fun game footage but in real life it's all just bizarre.

I like it. Most modern tracks forgive or encourage sloppiness with vast tracts of tarmac run-off that need stewards opinions to judge whether using it is valid or not. But with Willow Springs you just need to stay on track and you will be fine.

It's always in the last place you look

I use one of these here in the uk,It feels quite weighty but comfortable at the same time, idont know if it makes me any quicker. Its not wireless, supposedly to reduce input lag but i dont know if it does, and comes with a 3 meter cable,
I bought it to play gtsport, and because i like the look of it:D,but cant get on with it to play RDR2 so i go back to my DS4.I have the first version which the cable is held into the controller with a screw type fitting,my daughter has this version whereby the lead plugs in tight with a click.I paid about £70.00 for it which at the time was only £20.00 more than the Sony DS4 8373368_R_Z001A.jpg

OK, thanks for the help guys, I will try to post my best race in this game so far.

I had just one race last night, my wife had gone to a dinner. So I did 10 practice laps trying to drive smooth and explore the lines. Got a 1:57.503 which was a gain of 0.2 but I thought would help me on the grid. I was on DR 29329 so I thought some goods races could get me to the magic 30k. I started 3rd and squeezed by the second car which was a Beetle and they lack top speed I think, and by being on the inside of the first turn - I was then second. I did drift over so it was on the turn and I had thought he was clear behind, but we might have touched. There was a gap to first of course but at turn 7 - the 180 degree U-turn leading onto Michael Schumacher's kinked straight - PD did me a favour and the game sort of shoved the leading guy wide on the left into the sand. He lost traction in his Blue R8 and I cruised by in my green one.

So suddenly I was in front, of a mix of A, A+ and an S or two. Three Bs as well - including me. I then opened a gap on lap two with a 1:58.3, which was the 2nd fastest lap (OK not so fast but in the races the times are slower when its close), and I opened to 1.4 seconds. Third lap I was only 1:58.8 and the second Beetle was 0.8 behind, the S driver, and he was coming. But I played it safe, even taking 2nd gear entering the Weistenier Curve #11 for the last time as I was a touch off line and 2nd would guarantee safety but loose me some exit speed, and I took a close win. Sony/PD smiled on me, I think I got a Star but my SR was at 99 anyhow, and I checked my point gain - now 31777. That one race scored me 2,448 DR. Hey its an easy game after all???!!! I'll be back to B for sure but this sure was fun.

I'll try to post the video if anyone is interested.

Neville I beat you to "A" Man!! ;) Thanks for your help NevilleNobody.

I gave up after that ...

The solution is so easy in video games

No more cheating, no more disputes over track limits, no more cars bouncing back from walls, no more bad track re-entries.

Overall SR S (94, +6 from 88) but down to DR C (8400, -2800 from 11200). Dunno why I got such a Minus considering these were my first two races since five weeks.

If you have dropped down to a lower DR class, you loose extra points in the drop so that you don't keep yo-yoing between classes. It's the same with going up a class. You gain extra points as a buffer to dropping back down after one race.

@NevilleNobody The thing is though, that you’ll still be racing with people that’s about as fast as you are, because of the DR-rating.
The difference is that you’re that fast with a stock setup, and they’re that fast with a tuned setup. You could even be using the same car and doing about the same lap times. A custom setup doesn’t automatically make you faster. It can however make a specific car suit you better. And hopefully get rid of these one make races that the weekly races are going towards as the week goes on

But why does it matter what car your using though? In bumper/hood cam you don’t see it anyways. I’d race shopping carts if there was someone to race them against.

It doesn’t matter what car I’m using. I’m using whatever I want. But it’s not that fun racing an RSR against 15-20 R8’s. And they chose the R8 only because it’s the car for that specific track.
I think it was Gr 2 @ Fuji that turned into a onemake race with GT-R’s a while back

But that’s my point, why not just use the Audi then? Unless of course your looking for the challenge of using an inferior car to make it harder as I saw someone mention before. Otherwise why not just use the best car for the track? Technically speaking a one make race will likely make for the most even competition, especially one that doesn’t allow tuning, everyone is using the exact same car and setup, so if they’re faster they’re driving the same car you are, just faster. It’s actually making us all better drivers in the end to force us to adjust to different cars instead of just tuning all cars to suit our own driving styles and preferences. :)

Because it might not suit me as good as the RSR. Or I might not like how the R8 looks/sounds/whatever. There’s no point in even having the option in the game if it’s not being used. And as PD is working with the FIA. Isn’t tuning allowed in FIA GT3-races? I mean the real ones. Yes, it is.
Tuning should be allowed, at least for race cars. And adjustable LSD’s should be an option in all cars.
Now, I have to go an make a livery for my Lexus. Since it’s the car I’ve set my best lap with, it’s the one I’ll race :indiff:

I've raced the RSR a lot lot more than my R8. I like them both. The R8 moves around much more, while the RSR has a glorious low centre of gravity feel. I reckon the Toyota/Lexus vehicles are faster than the R8 in the high speed sections though. They've sped away from me on the starting straight for instance. But their feel doesn't appeal to me. My favourite car in GT4 and 5 was the little Lotus, you could hot it up and it could race with top optioned Nissans at for instance Suzuka. In GT5 they had on line racing for a while and the cars were as you set them up. Strangely the Lotus only spun its wheels at the start - so I'd always go around the first corner in last place. That was buggy ... but then I'd get up to second place. It was fun.

They could have a 4th race a week with setup up cars.

Also, why not let us change the gear ratios? Just proper gear ratios would make the game better IMO. And also the diff settings. And allow only me a nitrous bottle.

Back when the Megane was the Gr.4 meta, I got a lot of pleasure from beating them in my Lambo. :D

I skipped the liverymaking for the Lexus and managed to cut another 4/10’s off with the RSR. So I’m currently sitting at 1:59,517, with at least 3-4 tenths left on the track. Mainly at the last chicane and the fast uphill left-right-whatever-it’s-called after the hairpin.

Oh, and the earlier RSR/R8-reference was just because that’s the most recent I’ve seen. I guess that we’ll see another non onemake onemake race next week...and the week after that and so on and so forth

@Flash_Sweden Gr.2 is generally one make with the GTR. It's just a bit better than the 2016 RC F and NSX; the 2008 Super GT cars don't stand a chance.

Gr.4, the meta was the 4C for the last two races, which surprised me on Fuji because the 4C is not really known for its straight line speed :odd:
Is there a meta in Gr.3, or does it depend on the track?

Which is exactly why tuning should be allowed. To make it less of a onemakerace.

It's the opposite, actually. On the rare occasion tuning is allowed, there's usually one car that's considerably better than the rest. Off the top of my head, the Gr.1 race @ Le Mans that had tuning enabled saw the Audi R18 '16 wipe the floor with absolutely everything.

You have about a second or 2 minute lap on me so I figured youd get there before me, if I ever get there. I've been to mid 25k a few times then dropped down as I get paired against faster guys

Hmm still trying to figure out how to post what is now a Facebook based video. I'll try the Google method tonight as there is a 24 hour delay on that working.

https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-au/tid=CUSAxxxxxx - a link I thought to the video ... I'll try again, maybe later.

the video sucked anyway, it started at the end of the race with me clicking back to the start ... so I'll go to it again and hit the secret to me but highly obvious share button, and try to make a better look at the race. And post it via Google tomorrow .

This is it for this week and I afraid I won't be reaching my goals of setting A time in the 1.57s and getting my rating back up to DR B. Was very close and only needed 100 DR.. I was leading the racing with a margin of about 2,5 seconds and then a cone appears in the middle of the road causing my front to go up right before the second corner. This all happens on the final lap and there was a pack of 8 cars racing really close causing me to drop back to 9th:( . Was also close at hitting 1.57s laptime..
