I'll try it in a race, got to check if anything has changed about the pit times with the update.
Sven, the LM55 results are in, and they're pretty conclusive. 18:04 with no-stop fuel-mapping, and 17:48 at fm1, with a fuel stop. Fastest lap was also 5 seconds faster. It could be that they've sped up the fueling. Also, I may have shaved a bit of extra time in the second race, just due to having 5 extra laps under my belt. It wouldn't be a huge difference, though.

In conclusion, if you're gonna use the LM55, don't bother trying to save fuel.

I wonder if the R18 becomes a viable option now if the refueling time has be shaved?

How long did your pit stop take?

No, I'm just slow  No clue what I'm doing wrong yet A+ drivers can get the TS050 down to 2:26 for best lap, my best in 2:30 once. I tried to watch a replay yet due to lag it was impossible to make much sense out of it, except that I shouldn't stay inside the lines at all times.

Of course you can't trust the fastest lap times on Sarthe as penalties don't count towards the time. You could simply skip the final 2 chicanes to get the fastest lap and worry about the penalty the next lap :/
Was that time set in the race? The Toyota gets slower as the race goes on because the battery can't harvest as much as it deploys, as well as tyre wear. My fastest race lap is 3:25.1 since you have to push really hard early on to shake the slipstreamers.

If you start at the back you will lose a lot of time, the Toyota loves clear track because whatever you gain in slipstream you lose in dodging cars in the acceleration zones/corners.

Refuelling is likely faster in a custom race. My results are +25 seconds for the pit stop. (Actually +29, yet I didn't quite make 4 laps, ran out in the chicane on the way to the pit stop) Without a stop I would have been in 7th, dropped to 15th instead, finished 14th passing someone who ran out of fuel.

I'm trying again, pitting in lap 3 to get a more accurate result without running out of fuel. If you go 5 seconds a lap faster, it's still a wash...

I don't know. Not long enough to grab a beer. Is there a pit stop timer?

I check my lap time for the lap I stop in. The out lap is not much different so all the extra time goes to the previous lap. There is a pit stop timer as well, forgot to record it.

Yes in race, and yes I'm dodging a lot in the first and second lap. My fastest lap is usually set in lap 4 :/

I’m not sure if there is or not but I thought @Sven Jurgens said yesterday or the day before it was around 30-35 seconds before, I may be remembering incorrectly though. If you could use the R18 on FM1 and only have to stop for a quick drink it may make it usable in the race.

Yes, however you shave off about 10 seconds of track as well, it's more accurate to look at your lap times. Starting 17th again, sacrificing some more DR for science :)

@Sturk167 was there! Almost caught you!

The results:

A horrible first lap where I had a run in with a 1 bar Argentinian in a R92CP. It's like racing Schrodinger's cat :banghead:

The out lap is about 2 sec shorter. My laps were pretty consistent (apart from the messy first one), again I would have run out on the last bit in the 4th lap (perhaps I'm driving more aggressively than in my earlier test). Thus +26 sec on the in lap, -2 sec on the out lap, 24 seconds extra for the pit stop taking in 1.1 lap of fuel.

I'll try fuel saving in the Mazda next, see how much slower it makes me.

FM3 on the straight, FM4 for the rest, except last lap I stayed in FM3 and made it with 1% left

Overall it's slightly faster as a no stop. However the first 3 laps you are stuck in the backfield without the power to get away from them. After they pit I had a clear lap 4 to set my fastest lap and got held up a bit again in lap 5 when a pit stopper came through.

18:17.909 with pit stop vs 18:09.366 with fuel saving.

For comparison, I just ran an 18:02 no stop race in the R92CP. (Times depend a bit on how far back I started and this race had a Sunday driver blocking me. I guess he didn't know the second half of the course yet)

Good job, by you. 👍 I did pretty lousy in that one. Next race, I was in the lower SR room. It was clean, and I got 4th, behind 3 no-stoppers. Back to S, now.

Really really weird with speed of the FF cars. Isedbthe Scirocco. It's BoP is barely touched. The stock hearing puts its top speed at 291km/h. The TT gearing tops out at 282km/h. Yet, the TT has a lower final drive. It seems faster than the Scirocco down the straight. However, the scirocco is more than a match for it in handling.

TT felt heavier. Scirocco is so light at 1050kg, I just leave it in third gear at all the hairpins, TCS 0 and use off-throttle turn in for sharper apexes.

With the TT, I don't get that same agility. As a side, the Megane does it all. Not as agile as the Scirocco, but it's way more stable. Megane starts off with more torque than any of the FF cars. 8hp less than Scirocco, but that acceleration is what makes it so fast.

Got the kids in bed last night, pouring a drink for my nightly session and ..... wife wants "to talk". Wants to renovate the house, I want to move, been at a stand off for a while. Lost the night.

Bugger.
Love it or list it? Wife's favorite show.

Oh come on, my best run yet. Last lap in 3rd, clear shot to the podium for the first time this week.

@sturk0167 Did you hold on to 3rd?
I didn't know I was ever in 3rd. Actually, I have no idea what spot I finished in. I was looking to see what happened to you. I got punted off the track at the corner after Indy. I guess I was maybe somewhere around 5th or 6th at the end.
I'm sorry GTS hates you. You were kicking ass in that race.
I just got disconnected trying to enter the next one, about 20 seconds after restarting the ap. :banghead:

Those idiots made us download a new update to fix some stuff that nobody cares about, but not to fix the thing that makes people mad and quit playing their game.

I'll be seeing you out there, today. 👍 First, I'm gonna create a custom race, duplicating the race C settings, to find out how to fuel map the LM55 for a no-stopper. I don't want to run of of fuel in the race, while experimenting.

Aww, why not? Doing one of the 24h enduros on GT4 I changed tyres but did something that meant I didn't re-fuel. Ran out before the first chicane in Mulsanne. A lap of la Sarthe at 80kph is exhilarating! :sly:

Done 2 races at Fuji and I have come to the conclusion that it is not for me. 2 rooms full of B/S drivers doing anything to gain a place. Second race I quit on the second lap because I got a 5 second penalty for somebody moving in front of me under braking.

Hmm what time is it. Sarthe is starting to turn into battle royale again.

On another note, check out our weather.

Freezing drizzle all day yesterday and into today.
Briefly above zero between noon and two o' clock, light rain
Back to freezing drizle at -1c with heavy fog (Everything is still covered in a layer of ice)
It's supposed to get above zero again in the next hour then to +6c by 11pm with light rain and up to 90 km/h winds.
Then a flash freeze starting at 4am going down to -6c by 8am with scattered flurries and high winds.
Further down to -10c tomorrow night.

My kids have been bouncing off the walls for 2 days already, chance of a third ice day in a row seems likely and Monday is a PA day :(

The Lambo is a nice boi to have, so in the 04:10 Race, the TT Cup that stole my lead on lap 1 ended up forgetting his brake markers and flies off to T1's runoff, but then I mysteriously cut T4 and I got a penalty, though I served it at the end as there was a big enough gap and won.

05:10 Race: The Big Bug gets to see a race after a long while! But then I ended up falling for the T1 overdefense as a BLOODY MEGANE passed me and there's nothing I can do in the midsector...2nd...huh...

I know what you mean man. I am not all that far away from you, in our nations capital. Our weather has been pretty much the same exept with 5 to 10 cm of snow in there at some point also. Becoming a full time job just trying o keep the driveway clean enough to not be a death trap. Also need it to be nice enough that i can get car a home fom the wash around the block so it doesn't sit dirty in the garage while i drive car b for a few days.

It's overcast and 50f here, right now. :)

Oh wow that's an absolute outrage  So broken it's disgusting. I posted a 56.341 around 9:30am Monday and left it at that, if I had continued racing there I'd be close to a DR reset now

If you can, check out the top time on the Euro server. Think it's a low 53 something. The final 2 turns are outrageous, even more so than @Pigems

PD should be ashamed!!!!

Damn, like clockwork the dirtbags come out of the woodwork for chaos hour. Last race I got punted off twice, rammed into the wall. The main culprit left with a red B, that was some comfort.

The race before a 787B kept bumping me around. When he did it again the next lap, bumping me wide in Indianapolis, I said goodbye to him in Arnage. I barely hang onto the pavement at Indianapolis so he bumped me again to pass, my patience has limits too. I did not brake for Arnage, cost me 3 SR and 2 places at the finish due to the 5 sec penalty. Worth it, some people simply don't get it.
