Nope, keep getting tossed out of races. Great fakkin job PD. It's like the games knows I'm gonna finish up top and they says "F u dude" and throws me out. Waddafakk..

Called it quits after that race with pigems last night. Just was not in the mood for the kind of racing going on in the A race and clearly need more time in the gr 1 cars to race those.

Back to A this morning, it's been good in the mornings all week tbh. First race was pole but finished in 3 behind two fast clean guys. I kept it close at least the three of us put a decent gap on the rest of the field. Race two was good also. I started 2 behind a fast guy who i was stugglin to keep up with. We also put a gap on the rest of the field. The only thing that bothered me was on lap 4 he pulled the b.s. on the last two turns for what i suspect was one of, if not both, of the following reasons. My lap 3 was balls out and i had cought right up to his bumper and stuck there througb the first half of the lap, i also set the fast lap on lap 3, which he beat, although not by much.

Also all my races seem to have 9 or 10 people only. I hope thats just a sign of how unpopular this weeks races are and not a trend

Yeah so I checked the current fastest lap for Race A. This is the legit racing line you can take for the last two turns.

So no Race A for me with this nonsense! I've had some fun with Race B and perhaps time to get to grips with a Gr. 1 car.

I'm not on Twitter but can someone tweet that image and the context to PD?

@Dairyworker , were you going wide at T1? In my race last night, 2 of the top 4 were not. I kept 2 wheels on blacktop/curb 2 laps out of 3. One I went wide, close to the wall, the other 2 were less than half way to the wall. One of those gave me a 2.3 second penalty, I'm not sure why. I ran some laps before my race last night...had to get used to the car after GR1. I lowered my Q time by a whopping .020 seconds for a 56.000. Now I need to try again to get my 55.xxx. I may try a truly clean line through T1 and see what the time difference is. It may not be much judging by my 1st split times. I'm sure I can do mid 56's without going past any curbs. We'll see.

What a weird night, got my qualy time in Race A down to a 56.3 for 4 races for four wins, I quite enjoy the Tuscan TBH. The first three wins I started second and the pole sitter made huge errors and spun off under pressure. DR up over 28K for the first time. Funny what happens when your SR drops to C.

Speaking of which, in the first three races i did not have any contact at all and incurred just one 0.75 second penalty for tripping ther track limits somewhere (where???) yet my SR barely moved from 33 to 40. I don't get it. In the 4th race i JUST touched a guy and he spun off and i was sent back down to 20 something.

@Dairyworker , agreed, less than 10 per race for me which i hope is not a trend.

Now it seems to work again.
I wonder though how a C/C-race can be dirtier than a C/E-race.. Now I'm back to Sr. E again after sending a retard to orbit around the moon.

I'm having so much fun with the 787b - Cannot win because have to pit, but its worth it for the fun.
No matter what the other car is, the 787b just passes them screaming like no tomorrow! - Its all about fun anyway.
Have you tried the Nissan R92CP 1992 (Gr.1)..... I think it's the fastest real car I have in the garage now. Apart from the F1 Merc.

It’s pretty funny to me that out of all 3 of this week’s races, the one with the tightest track limits is La Sarthe! They’ve done a much better job cleaning up the chicanes this time around. Dare I say they’ve finally got it right, or at least close to right?

So this is a general question for Race C but which car is best for gear rations/fast lap on automatic transmission?

I learnt a bit this week from my friends who use manual transmission but I cannot master changing gears just yet, would the R92 be quicker
than the LM55, my time is a 7:25 so it's okay for DR D but I will need better time for higher level DR I think?

Race C: Grid P14, race P5. Got badly shunted by an idiot Japanese player while at the end of the straight, but did a superb recovery drive and one killer overtake while running three wide. Karma right in your face!

Personally I wouldn’t go with any of the Group C cars. They are fast but handle poorly and tire wear is worse in them. This race is faster if you no-stop and manage fuel. Pit stop is over 25 seconds. And if you’re in a lower tiered lobby most people will be pitting so lots of easy gains.

Top picks for this race are typically the R18, Porsche, Peugeot 908, Hyundai vgt. I think the Toyota hybrid can hang too but doesn’t get picked much.

I haven't seen the Hyundai VGT anywhere near the top this week. Was it popular last time we had this race?

Well I am certainly quicker in certain sections in the R18 but I might give the 908 a go or the Hyundai to see if I can improve my best lap.

Only one I am a teeny frustrated with is I want to get a top 5 finish in Race A but with all the short cutting and me not being very good
in the Tuscan means I'm languishing near the back since I refuse to play the shortcut game.

Hopefully next week has something good One Make wise as I like the car but god those colour chameleon's look simply hideous...

I don’t think it’s been on the leaderboards but it’s a good car in race if you can drive it. Nice top speed without losing too much in braking/cornering. Kind of a sleeper but I’m not the biggest fan of it, I’ve just seen some people drive it damn fast in races with tire wear and fuel.

The R18 and the 908 are probably my favorite to use here, and this is one of my best combos. They are both fast hot-lapping and over the course of the race.

Actually it recovers much faster than what you said.

Yeh. once you go off track, particularly dirt or sand, the game simulates dirty tyres, and the handling blows. In a race C it never realy recovers. For a Race A or B it usualy comes good after a lap...if you can keep it on the track that long

Thief!!!! You stole my racing number! :yuck:

Go for the newer Le Mans racers. Personally I'd go for 919 or TS050, but the 908 HDi is a good choice too.

Something I noticed yesterday at Sarthe, was that once when I braked too late, and once when I got hit entering the first chicane, and ended up skidding across the middle of it because I couldn't make the turn, I got no penalty. I was expecting at least 2-3 seconds, or to be reset on the track. It's probably because I was on the brakes, going through there, instead of on the gas. Not sure. Aside from that, the limits/penalties seem reasonable.

I ran the TS050 for 3 races last night, finished 3rd in my best run from second last so the car is plenty competitive. The Toyota makes it the entire way with minimal to no fuel savings(short shift on the straights only basically) on full power fuel map. It gets passed on the straights but corners, accelerates and brakes better then the other cars it seems. I can’t wait to get back out there tonight, I feel like I may be able to pull off a dub or two if I start with my Q time instead of from the back, I would have started 3/4 in the races I did last night. :)

Haven't raced this week yet. I'm waiting. Because I have a (dumb) theory on SR.

My theory is after the update eliminating the brake cheat. Those players were SR-S due to faster lap time, pole position, less traffic. Now without the cheat they are slower, mid-pack and not equipped to drive in traffic. I think this causing temporary chaos.

race A would be a fun track/car combo (for me at least) but yes, the 'racing line' is ridiculous. i think i got up to ~250 regionally then i noticed what the top 10 were up to and gave up.

I don't think there were very many of them. Just @Pigems and a few other guys. :p
