What brake balance are you guys using on Race B? I played with an older Evo and had to push the balance to the front by 3 degrees to make it pivot easily on the turns. I haven't played with this Evo yet though.

I went with BB +2 to help with the high speed braking a bit, shes great everywhere else, it even shifts pretty good. :)

@Dairyworker I shaved a little more off my time. ;)

I’ll be running this bad boy, I didn’t make the livery though. :D

First race at the Nurb, ready, set, go, home that is, DQ’d in T1. That Filuji race really did a number on my backup profile, time to take run from the back at the mountain for a race.

Also of note, only 4 or the 13 drivers had Q times set in this race.

Both of the BB comments are the reverse of the actual in game physics. Is it placebo for you guys or am I in crazytown?

3 degrees to the front is -3 on the hud. It makes the car more difficult to rotate, but stops harder in a straight.

+2 BB puts more braking to the rear. The rears are more likely to lock up so the car rotates more and high speed braking distance is increased.

1 Race A and 1 Race B for me so far.

Race A was OK. Pretty uneventful.

Race B, I ran into the same problem I had last time. I always get stuck behind a car burning penalties, lose speed and all the cars behind pass me. I guess I have to learn to drive though cars instead of slowing down. But I think they really need penalty serving zones on NBR in a 1 lap race.

I should have clarified I guess, under high speed braking the back end felt a little light and floaty to me, so I moved it to +2 to take some weight off of the front end and even out the balance a bit under high speed braking. Or maybe I’m still misunderstanding it lol, but I wasn’t trying to get more braking by moving it. :)

Is the Lancer as understeery as the WRX?

I haven't driven the WRX in a long time, but yes the Lancer is very understeery. It's easy to drive though with TCS 0. You can go full throttle out of a turn as long as your headed toward the right direction, and there's no fear of the back end coming around - if you over-do it, it will simply push. If you go into a turn a bit too fast, you can apply a bit of brake and turn the wheel harder than normal, and it will turn without fear of spinning out.

When you gonna be out here? I’m in DR C right now. I’ve done one B and some C so far, I went M/M and pitted on lap 5 for fuel on race C in a Lancer.

Depends on my kids, I have to pick them up now. If they don't want to play in the park on the way back I'll be racing in half an hour. It's only -18c with the windchill, they probably won't even have their coats on.

Sounds like you're being a little too polite. I wouldn't fault you for that, though. 👍

Contrary to what you'd think floaty backend while braking means there's too much braking grip in the rear. The rears are skidding not braking which is why they slide. If you want more stability braking add more - balance.

TYVM for the info Sir. :)

I cannot join any race today. Tried a few times but always fell back to the menu after the entrants list comes up. I restarted a few times and even disconnected the power but to no avail.

I set a Q-time for Maggiore only (1:07) and that would‘ve put me on the pole (as I saw for a split second). I will start the other races from the back. I guess the Nordschleife will be bumper cars and Bathurst never really was a track I got warm with (I keep trying since Race Driver 2 15 years ago...).

I‘ll try again tomorrow.

Did two races around the ring before work today. Both were good and clean. Went from 4 to 2in the first, which was a really good race to start the week, i wish i remembered to save the replay. The second was another good one which i did not expect mid pack... hope i can get back out there tonight before servers go down for maintenance/update

First attempt at the Nord in the Lancer. I did have almost 3 minutes of practice before the race started.

No problem, N300 on sports tires is like driving in slow motion.

Oddly I didn't even start last with 1 DR. I guess the DR.1 player behind me had less races or some other criteria. DR at 484 now, and so the long slow climb begins. Hopefully I won't be stuck with the C and D crowd too long, slow going.

...I also touched him in the back - the same thing that he did to me earlier in the race. Poetic justice maybe - but I did not hit him deliberately, he seemed to brake early, or maybe being so close I did not brake early enough. Maybe he was removing his penalty still. But I had touched him and he got time penalties, lost his position due to the wall and I sailed around onto the main straight for the win just up the road, it being lap 12. But then, I pulled over and let him win.

So instead of making an enemy, I think he will respect me if we ever meet again. He thanked me after the race too. I was bemused by my lack of killer instinct, but now, I reckon I did the smart thing. Better not to make enemies in what is a game anyway.

So, when setting up my new account - the Japanese guy I pulled over for (quote above) asked to be my friend! So now I have 3 friends - someone who smashed into me when I started who has disappeared, Ex Aussie Canadian from Autosport threads NevilleNobody (my mentor) and this Japanese Gentleman (who maybe is 16 years old). Life's good.

As far as racing goes - since I still have three races to finish in order to get DR points - and I get 2,000 - I guess I should focus being nice on the track. That might be tough to do with some of these guys. Boy on chap with a controller had the Evo turned instantly - a real Playstation manoeuvre. Quite impossible in real life. GTS is not "The Real Driving Simulator."

Haha DQ’d again because of people and their bumper car tactics, I wasn’t even fighting back at all, I just wasn’t backing off like I normally would and they just kept hitting me lol. I think I’m just gonna qualify so I can have some good racing, I’m really enjoying this car on this track so far. :)

I'm really enjoying the track, let's keep it at that  At least there's plenty time to think about shifting, even the gear shifting is slow. No TCS needed at all, just need to figure out where to stay a gear higher than the suggested gear indicator. It wants you to drop too low in a bunch of corners. I'm playing without sound again, kids are watching tv and playing, so all I see is the bar flashing angrily at me.

Posing as a member of No Loser, huh?

Here's the team leader's car for example

Nope, just borrowing it for the week. :D

Me too, yeah you can definitely stay in higher gears quite a bit, watch Lester’s lap, he’s got it down pretty well. :)

How the Heck?!? The race just started how can you get a DQ warning after zero collisions?

I got hit from behind, the DQ warning was from the race before, it was a dirty one at Fuji, I posted the videos a couple pages back lol. :)

Ha, I didn't watch a tutorial for Ink Scape, sure not going to watch someone else drive the slowest car in the world :dunce: I'll figure it out. I'm better at that than trying to remember stuff  At 3K DR now, DR.C I'm coming for you. One more race before I have to get dinner, hopefully a clean one, at lot of angry red ratings in that last one which cost me 3 SR climbing to 3rd.

Starting 8th now already, hardly anyone qualifies on this track.

Back to 99 SR 3675 DR. I'm already getting matched with A/S players lol.

More racing later! Or rather crawling, is this car even on. That straight is so long in this car and the game won't even let you rotate the camera in chase cam to check out your car

Yeah I had one race with only 4 qualyfiers. I’ve Won one so far, but I qualified, I couldn’t handle the chaos, I got DQ’d twice in 3 races lol.

I just ran out of gas coming down the hill on lap 9 in 3rd, finished 6th lol. It’s a fun race, I only have a Lancer on this account though. Don’t bother trying to save fuel, it’s medium, medium fuel power the whole way.

I can't see your car. :odd:
---

I did a race at Nurburgring last night. 2nd place gave me a serious run for my money. It was a fantastic race. I'll have the clip up later today. :)

E- Here's the clip! (Let me know if there's any issues, as I have the video on Unlisted.)
