Yeah I had one race with only 4 qualyfiers. I’ve Won one so far, but I qualified, I couldn’t handle the chaos, I got DQ’d twice in 3 races lol.

I just ran out of gas coming down the hill on lap 9 in 3rd, finished 6th lol. It’s a fun race, I only have a Lancer on this account though. Don’t bother trying to save fuel, it’s medium, medium fuel power the whole way.

The Nord turned into a destruction derby. Just now, only top 3 had blue ratings, rest all red, couple down to A. I got rammed so many times I lost DR and SR in that one. I might have to qualify early or switch to Bathurst to raise my DR. It's impossible to drive a normal line as every corner you get dived on by people that don't know where to brake :banghead: It's 7pm allright, dirtiest as can be.

The "weak" slipstream is OP in that race.

"weak" indeed, feels like I have one of these mounted on the back of my car

Yup, it’s brutal back there. Not bad up front though, only got punted once so far since Qualifying and it was before the race even started, I saw it coming and braced but he still got ahead, I got him back later on though lol. Race time vs Q time is way different though, my Q time is 8:12.2 and I just had a lights to flag Victory in my last race with an 8:43.5 Race time, no big mistakes, no battles with the guy in second, no missed shifts or anything out of the ordinary that would have made a 30 second difference.

You start a lot further back in the race, the timer starts counting when auto drive is finished. I'm down to 86 SR now thanks to the slipstream people bumping me from behind while I'm in traffic. SR Down each time, especially with South Americans behind me. It never fails. Last race also had two one bar connections in front of me. It's hard enough to pass a wobbly driver with a stable connection, with lag and a Brazilian pushing from behind, fun times. Once I drop to SR.A I'll go to Bathurst to restore SR. I wish PD would fix the SR Down from getting bumped, so annoying.

Yes... Fiat 500 in Maggiore Center..
1 month ago, or 3 weeks ago?
I remember that race A, I played some time ago.
How to understand PD is running out of race combo ideas..

Hey PD, want me to remind you that off-road races have never been introduced into sport mode? Maybe it's time, you know (yes I don't like off-road races)..

Wow :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Dropped from SR **** to SR Awful. Gonna be in SR Bonehead soon, one more since the daily C already started. This is why we can't have dailies anymore, people simply don't care whether they know where to brake or where not to brake. I think the game should make brake assist mandatory on tracks you have not golded the track experience yet, plus a big L above the car and immediately ghosted when braking in the wrong spots!

The daily B is pretty much an off-road race this week :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Disconnected during matchmaking, probably for the better. Bathurst here I come.

Wow :banghead::banghead::banghead: Bathurst is no better in the backfield. What a mess today.

All red ratings in that race, instead of gaining SR I lost one point from all the incoming blows. Maintenance is coming (so nice that banner covers the rear view mirror :banghead:) will PD fix the penalties or make it worse. I'll be relaxing with Forza Horizon 4 instead of this mess. I've never seen this many red ratings in one night, race after race after race. It's a new record.

I got a respectable time in race c qualifying today.
Maybe I could’ve done better, but I was about to go insane haha.
I’m gonna take Godzilla back home! 1991 style.

OMFG!!! The world is coming to an end!!!! @Pigems is actually racing instead of spending the whole week qualifying with no racing .

You are such a dirty driver :p!

Hehe you would be very frustrated driving behind me. For race B I'm braking and turning well before the corner to get the car pointing in the right direction by the time it gets to the corner . All my cars under my personal livery have a kurai mark denoting an elderly driver ;).

Don't forget the "Yer all a bunch of R.Soles" in the post race comment :sly:.

In the real world much effort is being made to improve slipstreaming, reducing bad air comming off lead car reducing wash ECT. All in an effort to increase overtaking but here in videogame land we dont like if slipstream is too strong. :/

It makes for more entertaining racing VS lead car running a few laps out front. Its not like you dont get the same slip stream. Embrace the stream.

At least you are braking before the corner, I'm a slow in fast out kinda driver as well. The problem is people braking for corners that aren't there, or braking on corner exit  Check the map before you start driving

Almost back to SR.S at 79 currently, from 65. It's getting a tiny bit less dirty, about 30% blue ratings now.

The slipstream is not a problem, the sr down for people bump draftting you is :/

Agreed

Hopefully we get a new track in the update good for dailies and used for them.

That would be nice. PD also needs to fix the yellow flag penalties, they don't make any sense. Just now there's an accident somewhere way ahead, yellow flag starts, the idiot in front of me tries to reduce his penalty. That doesn't work under a yellow flag, confused so he slows down more and ghosts. What am I supposed to do? Stop? I pass him safely, 3 sec penalty and SR Down :banghead: I never saw the accident, never touched anyone, cleared the ghost by a car width, penalty!

Let's see if I remember to change my tires before the race this time, still on hard tires doh.

Maintenance in 2 minutes. Last race was just as dirty. Couple demoted to SR.B, couple to SR.A, all red ratings behind me and 4 quitters. I somehow got a 5 sec penalty from a car ramming me into the wall in the cutting, 'survived' with neutral SR and 11 positions gained. Enough to level up tp DR.B by 12 points (11512, thus 10012 without the bonus). SR stuck at 83. This was by far one of the dirtiest nights ever. And despite my sub 90 SR and low DR, still A+ on pole lol.

On my new account, I've had two races, both at the 'Ring, or the Nordschleife ... probably the wrong spelling for the Nord, sorry guys.

Got a win in my second race, although the stats say I've had three - WTF?. The two cars in front both had a few seconds penalty. Only two players had no red dots and had blue SR icons - I was one of them! I am after a decent SR. No SR bonuses because I keep crossing the curbs. My stats are as good as I'll ever get I reckon, despite the zero DR.

I don't really understand this kind of comment. If you have issues with people that can't drive on this track, they must have qualified poorly. If you are so much better than them (as you seem to say), you must have qualified way faster than them. Unless you mess up the first 3 turns, there is no way these people catch up with you (or did I miss something ?)

I had only one issue with my first race B that I solved very fast : a polish rammed me in the first right turn, so I kicked him out very far in the first left turn after the start line. Problem eliminated, as no one behind me was faster than me, after few turns they were seconds behind me and I was safe. I did not dare passing the brit and russian that were battling in front of me as I was affraid they kick me out (they were racing dirty), so I waited until they do a big mistake which they did not do. I settled for 5th.
Next B race, I qualified first, no one ever came close to me. Today I will try to improve my qualy time and to find how to be as fast as possible in the first corners to be safer.

As for the "im a slow in, fast out kinda guy", I understand that it's a problem for the first 2-3 turns, but then again, if you are as good as you say, Im sure you can try to enter fast in the first corners to get away from the possible dangers comming from the back.

Wow. I wish I was in the races that you compete in, where there is nothing to slow you down and absolutely everyone drives around at qualifying pace for the whole race. Presumably by your logic, no one has ever tried to overtake you and you have never overtaken anyone else?

In reality, if you qualify mid pack, usually there will be a bunch of guy banging doors ahead who you catch up pretty quickly, and slow you down, meaning that even if you drive as clean as possible, you end up with someone else closing in behind you, even if they have qualified slower.

Predicting next weeks races

Race A: Onemake with the newly added Miata roadster at Autopolis

Race B: N-whatever the MkV Supra is in, with the Supra as the OP go-to-car, at Autopolis

Or: N-whatever the Huayra is in, with the Huayra as the OP go-to-car, at Autopolis

Race C: Gr 3, with the F1 as the OP go-to-car, at Autopolis

Crash on the second to last lap, then everyone but you disconnects from the race on the final lap.

I'll probably pull a @Sven Jurgens for B and C this week until I'm up to speed. I don't know the Nord well, so I need some laps to re-remember the important bits. Might run the circuit experience again. Watched the top region laps...those guys really know the line around that place. I need alot of work there. I'm also slow at the mountain, but may spend some time there and try to improve. I put up a time in the A race that got me up to 27th in the region, so I kept some speed from last time. Only took me 30 laps. If I can drop another tenth I'll be solidly in the top 100 on the world board, which will be a first. I'm thinking the Nord will be what I race most, but I may have to race A a few times and see if I can rack up some wins. I would assume my time will get me a bunch of poles. I just need to hold it together and string some laps together.

Well I would agree with you for every track except Nurburgring where there is a bigger distance between cars. And my point was he was describing people braking too early or too late like they are dr.d drivers, so then how could it be he qualified in the middle of them ?
I was not criticizing but I'm curious that the race that was the cleanest so far for me is described as the worst by other people.

For me Fuji last week was the worst as people were pushing you on purpose so that you burn your tyres in one slide

Maybe I was just lucky so far with the race B this week

I qualified 10 seconds faster then the second place driver in a race last night on the Nurb, he purposely rear ended me off the track before we ever started the race? How did qualifying better than him help me in that situation? The race hadn’t even started yet and I got punted off?

My modus operandi is to race without qualifying  Foolishly hoping SR.S means something, like for starters have basic understanding of the track you're on.

I started to race without qualifying since I usually start mid pack and get rammed from behind in the first corners. The point is to start behind the aggressive T1 drivers and simply pass them when they're in the ditch. This works great on most tracks and my finishing position improved compared to qualifying and getting rammed off.

However Nordschleife is one track where this doesn't work as I end up starting mid pack anyway without qualifying. Now I have a bunch of people behind me that couldn't even complete a qualifying lap or think they can quickly drive through the field while I'm starting behind the slowest qualifiers. It's the most difficult position to be in and multiple contacts from cars behind me happen before I even get to T1.

I'm very stubborn though and take on the challenge. And while getting rammed in every race with mostly red ratings all around I still make up 10 positions per race while driving clean myself. I went from 1 DR to DR.B yesterday despite the chaos.

Yes I can qualify well on the Nord and get many poles or start top 3. However that either leads to boring races where I drive up front all race or get punted off in T1 (or before) by a certain hemisphere, then do my racing from midfield anyway. And the problem with qualifying is, once you set a time, you're stuck with it. Can't go back to racing without qualifying until next week. So I wait with qualifying until at least Friday or not at all.
