You have to carry speed in that thing, especially out of the first and last turn. I got down to 1:07.4. Optimal is a high 1:06 but that would take a perfect lap from me and I’m pretty happy with the 1:07.
I can do the first set pretty consistently, but watching the best lap videos I lose time at the top of the track. (Turn 3 i guess, the little right bend before the downhill) They are in 4th gear at the top of the hill. And of course if I nail the first sector I botch the second. That's racing.

Here's a challenge for you. IDK if it's possible, since IDK when the game will reset the car, but I had thoughts of getting her up on 2 wheels and driving. If the game will let you go on 2 wheels, and you're good, you may be able to do a 2 wheel lap. I think the dead spot in the center of my G29 might prevent that, but I would like to see if it's possible. :D
Grrr you reminded me I forgot to save a replay where I got bumped in the last hairpin and rode 2 wheels a good 3 seconds fighting the flip. Would have been a great race photo or two.

The Fiat race seems quite lenient on penalties. I'm seeing contact causing cars to go off the road, and nothing.

Not in my race A's they're not.

Had a car come off the grass after Turn 2, they slam sideways into me, whilst I am actually on the track, they fly off back to the grass whence they came from, 2 second penalty for me.

Also had a race where I got one orange arrow for someone tapping me from behind, the only incident I had in the whole race. I end up with a red S at the end, and a drop of 9 SR points!!!

By the way: is there a prefered way to negotiate the dipper at Mount Panorama? No matter what car I use or which line I take, the back of the car gets light and the car yaws to the left.

Start racing @Pigems!

Here's a nice example of your typical SR.Sneaky dirty driving

Swerve, swerve, swerve, push, push, tap, tap, and I get SR down

I’ll be out soon, I’m playing with todays new toys. :)

Got my Race A time down to 7.1, still sitting behind @Rexracer702 on my friends list though, great lap man! You’re only .5 behind Lester. I did manage to squeak squeak by @Oshawa-Joe by a couple of tenths though. :)

I can't seem to break the 15K DR while starting from the back on the Nord. The car is too stable on the grass, got to watch out for all the lawn mowers rejoining, plus it's a great car to block with :banghead: I could the daily C to get back to DR.A, yet I'll be tempted to race the new car, which means making another livery which takes hours  Can't race naked anymore.

Got my Nurb time down to 8:10.6 today, it’s crazy that guys are squeezing another 10 full seconds out of her still. :)

Thank you sir..... something to watch (repeatedly) while i am at work for the next 8-10 hours

Same thing happens to me all the time. That's why I call it Mt. Doom and is now a big no-no for me on the weeklies.
Are you using a wheel or controller?

Boy has the McLaren destroyed race C! Yesterday I did 3 races, in each of which the top 6 cars were all different - 3 races today, nearly all the top 6 are McLarens.....

Also, yesterday there was the occasional red SR, today more than 50% had red SRs!

On a positive note, tyre wear has improved dramatically since the update.

15k is great! I couldn’t crack 10k from the back yesterday, though I gave up after half a dozen attempts lol. Up front isn’t much better, but it is a little better on average.

I don’t blame you there, but the McLaren is Awesome!! I’m starting to like having one myself but I suck at making them so I just download them for now lol. :D

Controller. Interestingly activating all stability assistants is of no help either.

I suppose you mean tire wear has decreased? Tire wear was pretty ridiculous in the last FIA season that just ended, it was crucial to choose a manufacturer that had decent to good tire wear, otherwise you were completely un-competitive in certain high-wear races.

FR cars has it particularly bad, MR tire wear was manageable since the wear was more uniform between all four wheels, as opposed to FR cars which no 0 front grip by the end of the race...

Uh oh, it was all red here yesterday already, If it's more than 50% red in Europe, here in NA Bathurst probably looks like this

Just managed, despite getting punted off by an Argentinian. 15.2K DR with clean race bonus. Strangely the Argentinian did not get a penalty, yet I kept the clean race bonus despite going off road from the shunt. He did have a red S after the race, guess it was just SR Down. S/S driver, double sneaky.

I always like to bring the nose of the car over the grassy part of the track on the far left hand side, then hard counter steer the car towards the right to compensate for the weight transfer after falling down the slope. It takes quite a bit of practice to get right, and some cars have better stability down the slope than others. The Lexus RCF and the AMG are pretty controllable down the hill, I find MR cars are harder to control in this section in my experience.

I got a Mcclaren dressed for race c at 5 am today after prelim testing last night for a bit.
They will leave it op for a month or two.
Kinda scared to run mr on that track, but may have to try it.
It’s stupid quick.
Remember when the ford gt was added and it was untouchable? Same thing here...
Can’t wait to get home.

In one of the track guides out there on YT, the guy (I think it's Kie, not sure though) does it by basically trailbraking the entire way down from the top of the hill, right under the overhead sign, until coming out of the dipper. So never fully braking, never not braking either. Also not touching the throttle before exiting the dipper. This keeps the car stable throughout, as there's never too much weight being thrown around.

Next time, put yourself onto the grass after a contact like that.

I know, it doesn't always work down here though. If it's a DR.D driver he won't get a penalty for light contact like that. That's probably why I got the SR Down in the end, lower DR gets the benefit of the doubt. Plus I rather stay on the road at 200 kph with that sneaky bend coming up

Yesterday on Bathurst I made full use of the penalty system after getting a 5 sec penalty for getting punted into a wall. I send him right to SR.B goading him into bumping me into walls where I was sure the penalty system works. Much more satisfying than a revenge punt. This way he won't come back next race!

In saying that I think the speed must play a part. I saw someone go off at the same part your described and get nothing, and in the same race I went into the last corner 4-wide and a guy got 5 seconds when he put me into the wall.

I used exactly that video to learn how to do this part of the track. As said, basically brake gently from the top, kinda slowly slowing the car through the entire section before braking a little harder for the sharp left (I don't know the corner names). I'd always been abysmal at Bathurst before learning that. Now I'm just mostly bad

That's it for now, much less dirty than yesterday, only 35% red ratings per race, mostly in the back of course which I'm driving through
XAjd.png

Clean streak of 4 despite still getting bumped off, penalty system got it right 4 races in a row!

DR at 16.5K, so much better when there are less dirty drivers on the track. It won't last, schools are out soon :nervous:

Nice laps. :D

Trying to get a good time on Nurburgring was an absolute pain; even worse when it came to trying to break the 8:10 barrier.

^^ Thanks. I just ran a 9.3 but somehow picked up a 1.2 second penalty on last corner? Grrrrr...

Edit: Found it, but seriously, 1.2 for that? I could see .3-.6 maybe but not that much.

I was trying to race cleanly, He blocked me the entire way until about half track, I’d have had to punt him back to move him out of my way and the people behind were catching me and bumping me by then. He eventually slid wide on a turn so got up inside him and “nudged” him a little from the inside to help him get out of the way(and off the track lol) finally and left the pack 5 seconds behind by the end but the point is that qualifying better doesn’t always help, he nearly ruined my race before it had even started, and if you qualify mid pack you’re pretty much screwed.

I reckon the main issue that could easily be fixed by PD, is to record the podiums; or even, how many seconds and how many thirds a driver gets, as well as the wins. Remove the WIN OR FAIL mentality, and people will simply go for the podium rather than desperately try to get a win.

And Sven Jurgens, I've wondered if the South American issue is related to how well their server is performing?

Since the upgrade, the Australian players commence with 5 deep green server bars; then when you switch to the next screen that shows the server performance - the Aussies are typically on 3 yellow bars. And in the race, the car performs far worse with three yellow bars than with 5 green bars. Especially in traffic, which is where you do your driving.

In my real third race, I had an S driver from Japan in front of me at the start, in my new account, as a new "E" rate driver with a "B" SR rating. He ran wide in the S's at the start. It wasn't him I thought - its this dumb game that ran him wide. I built a slight lead and lost the race with a 0.623 second penalty for running onto the grass just before the finish. I reckon it was the game not my speed or line ... he beat me by 0.2 seconds. I could have had 2 out of 3 wins, and closed the account there, and left it it with a 66% win record. But the fact is that podiums are really just as good wins - the problem is that PD don't have the brains to recognise podiums. It would make the game a whole lot less like dodgem cars. OK if drivers are going for the 3rd spot, it might shift down to being rougher there - but it would be a heap better IMO. Easy to do for PD, maybe a bit tougher for Kudos. But worth it guys.

Finally the server performance of each car should be highlighted during the race above each car. Our draw a yellow circle around cars with less than 4 bars server performance. So other drivers would know that if a car is driving poorly, and their server connection is crap, then maybe the others should consider that the driver's behaviour may not be due to them, but rather the servers. Especially after this so called "upgrade".
