But, is that making you a better driver?

I did try the SF honda with CSA, I was slower with it on. It made car understeer even more. At some corners it was faster, but overall, I think the SF is faster without CSA.
I had a feeling last week, that PD changed the CSA somehow to make it slower? Might be just me...

Well, loads of room for improvement, but I put up a high 1:39 in race C. Good enough for 3rd and 2nd on the grid for the 2 races I entered at SR-B. Start was a mess in the first race. Ended up in 15th after getting knocked off in T1 and Degner 1. Worked my way back to 8th with the fastest lap. It was a high 1:40 that came after pitting. 2nd race I should have had a podium but I blew my lead with a forced mistake on worn tires, then did it again when I caught up to the guy that took P3 when I went off. Caught him in the esses on lap 11 and planned on staying close and passing either on the run to Spoon, or on the back straight. Went to get a good drive out of the hairpin, right on his tail, and he lifted 50 feet past the corner. I lifted to avoid the bump, and spun out when I hit the gas again. Would have been okay if I just got reset, but nooo, I wait, nose in the wall, and nothing, so i put i in reverse, back up, get it into 1st, then they reset me. Now I'm almost 10 seconds back, and its 12 by the time I'm up to speed. Finished 7 seconds behind him and took 4th. The first 2 did a 2 stop and passed me on lap 9 or10. Thats when I went off and lost all the time.

My biggest problem has been other drivers screwing me up. I think later in the week will be better as people get better with the car and track. I also think the penalty zones have calmed some of the blockers and punters, though that may not last long.

only tried Race A so far and loved it. Very very rare that i even try a qualy lap in Race A as i just can't be bothered with Mini's and Fiat 500's - but this is something else, what a pleasure.
Just need to fine tune in certain places.. i notice the top 10 laps just use 3rd and 4th gears where i find myself dropping to 2nd and then back up quickly to 3rd which is obviously losing time with the gear change lag. Turn 1 is crucial to gauge how greedy you can be and set yourself up for the chicane.
I only set a qualy of 1.55 purposely to start further back (that old chestnut ) and watch the mayhem unfold in front of me, but i've managed a 1.53.3xx in race so far. I've used TC1 but anyone changing brake balance? I've not tried any variations yet as i was just getting to grips with the car and track last night.

Numb trigger finger from Lap 4, in this last race. Got as high as 4th and just kept missing my turn ins. or maybe because I ran a Toyota decal on the rear of the wing. :D

Just got run off and reset on race c after taking the lead from 17th. Not impressed.

Unfortunately for sportsmanship below SR:A doing a no-pit strategy just isnt feasible because people will just ram you off.

These one-make races are cool. The mini race was fun last week, the Ferrari race is cool this week, the lancer race on the ring was fun, I think there should be more of these.
No BoP bs, every one has the same cards in their hands, and you just have to be the best driver.
It would also be cool if we had some Gr3/4 one make.

Also they should allow people to use their own car/livery when people already have the provided car.

Have you ever done a hard day of qualifying, just to see how far up you could go.
And then race from that during the week..

Yes, in the past. Particularly on Monza and Kyoto. I got punted so often in T1 and rammed off in the esses on Kyoto I said no more. Perhaps people are more careful now with the penalty zones.

I do still qualify for the 1 lap Nordschleife races and that track has my highest win count of 115 victories. There's no escaping the T minus two punts when not qualifying (since so many don't qualify and you still start in the danger zone) so starting up front and enduring the SR yoyo it is.

Monza has my second highest win count at 65 victories. At least half of those are in lower SR. Get punted when I start top 5, get a penalty for getting hit for a dive bomb, then get pole in a lower SR room. It's a good way to get victories, not a fun way to race.

The closest I ever got to the top 10 was 20th on Sarthe no chicane. (according to KP) That's another track where starting in the back is a good way to get punted before crossing the start.

It's not feasible anyway, you'd be a roadblock and hard not to hit regardless of ability or intent and you'd lose at least 5 seconds a lap the last few laps, maybe more in fact.

Thanks, same to you. Me too man, I got it down to 52.0 but then I lost it and couldn't come close again lol. It’s funny how that works eh, you can get on a good run of laps and then it’s just gone. :)
I did few laps before going to work and i tough that my pace was decent but the pace have gain like a full second while i was working so i got back on it and i also gain +.700 right away ? Can't say why i was .700 slower this morning lollll

Pleasantly surprised by Race A. Managed a high 53 with the D-pad and AUTO so that puts me in decent qualy positions. Gained over 2,000 DR points and lost only 2 SR points.

It's pretty good racing because folks do make mistakes, even fast guys. Been saying for ages, more daily races with powerful road cars or grippy low powered race cars, 'tis fun.

Racing the new Super Formula is exactly what I like. :D
The car feels good and the new overtake button is so much fun to use. Especially on Suzuka there are a lot of spots where you can use it and surprise your opponent. This results in more action and more tactics during the race. You never know how much boost the others have left or you can safe your own just to rush the final laps. Definitely one of the best updates so far.

Here´s one one of my races from yesterday. After getting pole I misshifted at the start and lost some places so had to fight back by using the magic button. :sly:

News from the other end of the spectrum.....

My cunning plan to drop to a C or D (SR) and race with slower people that I could perhaps match was going well today, down to 56 points (I think!) and am now a B, not S.

I was in a the A and B races today where the letters on average did appear lower, both SR and DR - no S players anywhere. Whether that was "grouping" or just not many people playing, I don't know. There was no real foul play but it was a bit scrappier.

So, I changed my plan again! Decided to halt the SR slide and get back up there, and not give a monkey's about DR.

Went into an A to start getting SR back, started 8th out of 10 (with an embarrassing Q time, the two behind were worse, not DNQs) and ended up finishing 5th! Yay! Not only that I got over 200 DR points. It wasn't my good driving, it was some real reckless driving from others! Moved up the field due to the spin-offs and crashes!

Decided to call it quits because the last time I got DR it never registered, because I'd lost it by the end of the day

Jumping into race C at 8pm on a Monday wasn't the best idea. Much nicer now on Tuesday morning. Yeah the start is still a mess, got bumped out again on the first corner but made it up to 9th afterwards. The overtake button is very useful to get by 1 bar players that are too much of a hazard to pass anywhere else than on a straight. Boost to get by and boost to get a bit of a gap not to get rammed by their lag.

Anyone won Race C from last (or near enough) on the grid yet? It's possible with the right room and a lot of luck and talent, or if you are an alien of course. Best I've managed so far is 2nd, there is so much chaos and yet it's so fun.

I qualified 3rd yesterday and finished 3rd after dropping to 9th on the first lap. The grip level difference between qualifying and the race is huge, took half a lap to adjust driving style. I also managed to completely forget where the suzuka pit entrance is haha

Oh that is true, I think maybe Qualifying has some sort of auto boost too, the laps are so much quicker than even a lap on fresh (as possible) tyres and that's while using boost and it can't all be due to the fuel load I don't think but who knows when the multiplier is at x15. :indiff:

I am enjoying the a race so much i haven't even done one lap for b yet, i won't do the c race. Those cars are way outta my league. I really wish we got more combos like this instead of the fiat and mini over and over and over. Slow cars can be fun to race, but as a change of pace not the regular.

Three races this morning and i am off my pace from yesterday for some reason. Still having good luck with great races though. Have been starting 4 or 5 and have finished up or even each time. Although i have no complaints about the racing this morning, we are certainly not treating these 12 million dollar Ferrari's they way they should be lol lots of trading paint, hard tight door to door, bumper to bumper racing I LOVE IT!!!!

I may hav to grind a bit on my second account to get the SF19 and race from the back. It's great for racecraft, lots of fun, and to be honest, unless I'm starting up front and get lucky, I often end up at the back anyways. Last night I started 3rd and was 11th by the time I got through T2 after getting hit. What suprised me most was the braking for T1 from the 2 cars in front. We were just into 5th gear I think, so any slowing before the apex is not needed, even on cold tires. My other account is SR-C I think, so I have a chance with my pace, and I'll just get faster as the week progresses.

I’m in the high 1:36s for Race C. Picked up several wins last night and had some amazing battles out front with very respectable competition.

I’ve been running flat out and pitting at the end of lap 6 which seems to be the most common strategy. I’m very interested in trying a more conservative approach. I know fuel saving is probably the most opportunistic area.

Do we know if the overtake function is electric or is it more of a power limiter?

Hmm, got bumped off twice again, other car did not get a penalty. Once a bump from behind, into the sand. The other a bumper on my inside rear bumping me into the green wobbly stuff. I did get a 2 sec penalty at the start when I got bumped into another car. The penalty zone isn't really working when penalties are so inconsistent.

The field spreads out quick enough to have fewer accidents. Plus 5+ people quit per race, cleans up the field. I guess it's safer to let everyone go ahead at the start. The rush to T1 has a good chance at getting knocked into a car and be set to the back in the first penalty zone anyway. Maybe it's better starting at the front for this race and boost off the line. However I've run out of use-able fingers, can't shift, boost, steer, throttle and brake at the same time  Too bad it's not a toggle as I first thought it was (was wondering why it did nothing )

i won't do the c race. Those cars are way outta my league.

I feel the same way. The most I can handle is GR1/2. The SF cars take it to a level that I haven't felt comfortable with. I've never driven F1 cars properly before so that could be why.

That said, I did try one race at the back with no QT. I expected a rolling start so the result was pretty hilarious and I gained 5 - 6 places from people spinning and crashing into each other. I managed to stay on the track but I felt like one of those cars in the way of the Ferrari in Outrun. I couldn't find any rhythm or flow and likely frustrated the drivers behind me by slowing down and braking too much. All in all, not for me.

Omg i just had an amazing race with a drag to the finish where i came second by .017 i honestly thought i got him, threw my hands up and everything lol

Got back up to my pace after a few races. Had a 52.4 lap in race on a lap without slipstream so i know i can get down there, i just need more laps to smooth myself out lol

Average is better than me. :)

For references later in the week, 5 laps of A and B, 20 or so of C

A- 1:58.840
B- 2:06.024
C- 1:47.708

I try not to be disheartened at being so slow. It works sometimes.

I think those times are very respectable indeed! Don't be disheartened, you're doing great!

We all have a different pace. If your having good races and fun, than the rest is relatively meaningless i feel. I am of course always trying to get better/faster, but i know who my real competition is on my friends list/leaderboard, and i am happy to be ahead of anyone tbh

Yeah I stopped caring about R when I learned of multiple accounts that throw the whole system off. I still want to be faster though. Every racer does. It does make me happy to be faster than my couple friends.

Just quit a race in the pits. Bad room, too much punting, penalties not issued, try again next race. I got better things to do than sit out a wreck fest. It seems lower DR gets you 'fairer' treatment by the penalty system anyway.
