Well tried again to see how it is at 8:30. Got rammed off in T1 already then quit end of lap one after receiving a 4 sec penalty from someone dive bombing me at the chicane in traffic. Back to Elite Dangerous.
Is that what happened? I was pretty sure you just punted me into the barrier hence why you had a 4 second penalty.

That was the race after. I'm very sorry for hitting you, I missed the brake marker while trying to stay clear of the wobbly car next to me :(
I was in the middle of a difficult landing when the race started, shouldn't be playing two games at the same time.

Those two quits put me in SR.B, so now I'm just driving way behind to get back to SR.S. I had 60% fuel left at the pit from trying to stay behind and still finished 11th in the end. I just want to get to DR.B and get my head back in the game.

I'll stick behind for another race. Crap, it's starting already, not much time between races. Need to pull over asap.

Ugh this is tedious. Just did a whole race in 6th gear and still had to slow down not to pass people... Easy no stop, tires were still better at the end than in lap 6 in a normal race! Back to SR.S, but still 5.4K to shed to get out of DR.A. Sit in the pits for the race should do it.

Did two more races tonight, both featuring @suprajef and @Dairyworker , great races guys!

And I’d like to apologize to @NevilleNobody I didn’t realize you were in the first race, sorry about that. I hope you had a good race man.

I managed a 3rd in the first race and finished 2nd the the second race, I think there was one B driver out of the entire two races, the rest were A or A+’s, it’s been a while since I’ve been in a room like that. That was super fun!! :)

I've done 3 races from the back, at race A, with my alt account. Just got a no-quali victory. Of course, that was at SR B. The other guys were beating each other up. It isn't easy to have a clean race, when starting in the back. :indiff:

Sven, give race A a try. It's a fun little car. 👍

Great chatting with ya and racing also

You too man, congrats on the 2 wins, great racing last night.

And @SMinded31 starting in P11 on your race!

I haven’t raced with him before, I’ll have to keep any eye out for him in the future. :)

I haven’t tried a back start on A yet, but the few races I did last night on my Alt account it did look a little rough back there in SR C/B. :)

Damm, I didn’t realize I was talking to a High Rolla! ;)

That’s brings me to another question, do you guys all have the entire game beat? Like D School, Missions, Track Exp and all of GT League? Or do you just grind for cash when it’s needed? I really want to get the entire game beat but GT League is so bloody boring, I’m almost done intermediate finally but I’m dreading the longer races that the next level has.
i have done all GT league with my Turismo Psycho account but i have no fun because the AI is way to slow and drive like we was not there ? So i use it only to grind $ but i will do mission challenge and track challenge eventually

Man this starting from the back and attempting to win stuff is hard, in 32 races I have 4 wins. I have 24 fastest laps though at least. Realistically today I have had no chance, the driver on pole has very similar pace to me and if anything is a bit quicker over the race distance, so yeah beating them would require them to throw their car off track a few times whilst under no pressure and of the drivers of this kind of speed, it's usually only me who does that sort of thing.

Still it's fun, especially with this SF car.

I could never make it from the back, I made it into 2nd a few times but there was always at least one hare who would escape in the first laps. It's a lot easier when you qualify

Yes 2nd is the best for me too now, I'm getting someone with a Q time of 1'36.8, so yeah not catching that level of driver even if I do get through the pack well. Now I'm up to an A level it may be the end of even a chance at victory unless my SR drops down and I get put in an easier room.

I'll probably do more races with my main account as the week goes on but I swear the car is harder to drive on that account. :odd:

Again, best thing that's come to this game. No numb finger tonight!

Started 12th. Stayed on the inside and out of the T1 carnage. Got up to 7th and short shifted. Then, 4th. Stayed off the OT button and conserved.

Ran wide before the back straight. Ran wide again as 5th place was overtaking on the inside of 130R.
Fuel conserved even more with extra short shifting. Short OT bursts.

Pitted for the undercut. Came out 10th.

Everyone pit but one car. Moved up to 4th.

3rd Place serves pit stop. Handed 3rd and just run normal for the last 5 laps, all on my lonesome.

I don't know what PD can do to top this series, in Sport Mode. Just awesome.

I did. I was already back in the high SR room though and after driving the SF19 that car handled like a boat . I started last, stayed in last. The race was clean, or at least clean enough that the penalty zone wasn't used. Fun car indeed, don't like the track. It would be perfect for Big Willow.

@ASH32 Since driving without qualifying my stats are all out of whack. 591 fastest laps >> 501 wins >> 315 poles. It was the other way around before I quit qualifying. Makes sense, start on pole, get draft passed, and even when you hang on, second will usually get the fastest lap from drafting. Start last, so many draft opportunities to get the fastest lap.

Now with the SF19 fastest lap is extra dubious as you can boost an entire lap to get the fastest lap.

Call me an idiot. I wanted to race C from the back, so I logged on to my second account, turns out I had 1.6mil, so I bought my car, and entered. I had 6 minutes till the start, so I ran some warm up laps. I reset before the finish each lap. One minute to go, and I'm thinking about the start, and strategy, driving on autopilot, and I realize I'm on the front straight and I out up a Q lap. I don't even remember the chicane! Worst part is I did a 1:40.2 that lap, so I'm nowhere near the back as a B-B driver.
I shouldn't have worried so much. Lights went out, spun the tires in first and got plowed from behind and spun into the wall. Was in 15th place 5 seconds in with my 8th place grid. My race was pitiful. Apparently, if you get inside someone, you can bash them repeatedly and knock them off track with no penalty. Best lap was a 42, but I had at least 4 laps in the 50's with all the agressive drivers, and getting knocked of and reset repeatedly. Finished with a blue A if you can believe it. Oh, and I forgot to set a button for the overtake, so I locked the e-brake and downshifted a few times before I realized what was happening.
May be time to go into kamakazi mode. Pull that crap, and I'll game the penalty system right back on you. Bank shot through Degner 1 anybody?

I was prepared to leave GTS on the shelf this week. I don't like DTG very much and as always with classic cars they've fitted sticky tyres on an old soft car with an open differential. I'm not fond of peeling the inside tyre for half the lap.

Maggiore II is a track I also don't particularly like and Formula cars at Suzuka is above my comfort level on a controller. But after some test laps and adjusting the controller sensitivity to 7 I started to like the SF19.

First race I started P14 with no Q time. I made it to P5 on lap 1 and could see the front four. After spamming the overtake button I caught the draft and made it past 3 cars before lap 6. Then I got pushed off at T1 by a Canadian. I lost a few seconds on the dirty tyres and found myself in P5 again. I pitted at the end of lap 6, now in 4th. 2nd and 3rd stayed out and after a decent outlap I was back in P2 with the leader 20 seconds ahead. I was pulling away from the guys behind but made a mistake in T1 on lap 9 and lost 6-7 seconds. Ended 4th, 10 positions gained with a blue S and no penalties.

Overall a good experience and I really like the SF19. Look forward to the next race.

BTW: Is the no stopper a viable option in race C? I'm thinking the tyres will struggle towards the end?

Was good see @Pigems and @suprajef in a couple races last night. Not that i was anywhere near them on the track. That was a really fast two rooms, not so good for having just sat down lol good fun races anyway, clean crowd. After those two races i did a handful more with mixed results, both due to my tiredness and a couple dirty drivers. Still had some really good battles for position though, over all a fun night on the track.

Now to try and lower my qualifying time and try to get a couple podiums tbis morning. It is sooooo much faster at night.

No, you'll be so slow you'll be in everyone's way and even with the best of intentions (and loads don't have this) someone will hit you.

I hit a guy a couple of times in a previous race because they were just crawling (not sure whether they stopped or not), it's so hard to avoid them if you come across them at a bad point. This and a load of other people driving like loonies got me a SR drop though and so I was able to win the next race but still got a red S at the end due to loads of minor bumps and a couple of penalties, one because I was distracted by someone driving the wrong way.

I've a feeling that getting back to 99 SR will be a challenge too now. :scared:

I tried and found it to work pretty well. Edit: probably due to the fact that I'm barely scratching the surface of the car's potential.

After accidentally going over the line while waiting for matchmaking to start I started P6 with a 1:40 lap. An impatient Brazilian punted me off at T2 after I had to slow down for the chaos in front. Dead last I decided to try a no stopper.
Saving fuel turned out to be no problem at all and by the time we got to lap 6 I was P5 or 6, 20 seconds behind the leader.
Everyone pitted at the end of lap 6 and the leader came out 2 seconds behind me.
That quickly went down to 1 second and starting lap 8 I had him in my draft. I moved over to the right and lifted, thinking that this wasn't my battle and I'd only lose us both valuable seconds by trying to defend.
P3 was ~3 seconds behind but a few small mistakes later he was very close. I then fell off coming into Spoon and he took P2.
At this stage it looked like I had no chance to get a podium finish as P4 was only 1.7 seconds behind but I kept using the overtake button to negate my slow exit speed and managed to keep him at arm's length until he made a mistake.

A comfortable 3rd place, even after coasting the last 200 meters with no fuel left. The car was still OK to drive, only struggling with understeer in the hairpin. Time to see how fast I can go in qualifying.

I just did a couple of C races and it brought a few things to my mind (which is rarely a good thing;):D) .....

First I t-bone the one in front of me when he spun on the start. Couldn't avoid that one. Five seconds penalty ! Really ?!?! C'mon !!!

Then the usual mahem on the first lap. The thing is, why start this race with "cold" tires ? This is nothing like real life. I suppose they don't have ultimate grip on first lap IRL but ... tires are warmed up before the race. These are racing cars after all, not sport cars with "sporty" tires. It leads to people missing their braking points. Others (me included) being too cautious not wanting to punt the guy in front, etc ...and the result is what we see. An horrible first lap before everybody settles down a bit.

Speaking of tires, from what I feel anyway, it's like the tires don't really "warm up" during the lap. They're cold, the whole lap, and then, they'hot. As soon as you pass the finish line. It's like an on/off switch. Weird ...

here is the photo finish from yesterday morning(full replay shared in game, great race) and a little skill or luck moment that happened this morning....

eh, look at me learning how to interwebs :dopey:

can't seem find my groove this morning, i did manage to trim it down to a 52.798 or something like that though.

I’m still practicing these tracks.

Race A: I clocked in 1:56 although I don’t know how lol. This car loves to slide and oversteer. I put the BB on -5 and that seems to help me a bit.

Race B: I clocked in 2:05 too slow for my liking. I can’t get the area after the hairpin down. Honestly I’m not feeling this track going backwards. It feels unnatural. My usual goal is to be at least 3-4 seconds off pace and I can’t do that here.

Race C: I clocked 1:41.056. I’m inconsistent here. I watched Kie25’s video and it helped me a bit. Turning up my Torque and dialing down FFB seems to help.
