I'm still A despite a 911 and 650S blocking and divebombing(which I got an orange arrow). Lost my 3 race clean streak . I gave that 650S room to play from the start. WHen I decided to fight back, the door was left open. Oops!

There are 4 of them, now! Looks like you've got work to do.

Wow, I don’t know how they do it. I won’t be catching them, my Optimal is only 5.7 so I’m not getting much farther with this combo most likely. I think I’ve run four or five 6.0 laps now, but I just can’t seem to gain anything on that time.

I even went into time trial mode last night to use my shifter to see if I could gain time, even with the shifter “tricks”(which I suck at so far lol) for lightning fast shifts I still can’t gain on it.

I have a daily C practice lobby open for a little bit if anyone wants to practice.

How long you gonna be on for?

Having a lot of fun with Race A. Also, for the start, what's the best way to launch? Should I just leave TCS at 0 and carefully use the throttle? Or perhaps I should start in 2nd gear instead? Or, maybe I should start in 1st gear, but have TCS at 1 for launch and then turn it off once I've shifted into 2nd?

I just looked at the race C leader board. My mind was blown when I saw that guys have done 2:04s there. I think I'll need to watch some replays to see what the hell they're doing with the gears. I've only done the race with A/T. No friends to race from the back with. :( I guess I'll work on doing some Q laps. Also. there's a guy who's in the 2:06s that I need to get on my outside when my car is going to suddenly under-steer. :mischievous:

@Oshawa-Joe, @Mistah_MCA, @Pigems, @suprajef, fantastic laps!
Needs some work, key to this one on the long straights are to brake later and instantly downshift to 2nd gear killing the engine and transmission

The lap from the second place guy is funny. He hits at least half the cones on the track.
@suprajef I set a lap time with A/T, and just can seem to catch the ghost using M/T. :indiff: I'll keep trying, though. I probably just need more beer.

Man, when I hit cones all I get is this...

I believe this would have been my second fatality this week if it were real racing, Imagine the hospital bill on that one! :D

On the bright side, this happened shortly before my flight. :)

I'm about to hit rock bottom, 1k DR left. Driving ultra carefully from the back to keep the clean streak going makes DR go down. My best place finish is 5th yet that was an exception. Most races I finish 11th or 12th, too dangerous to pass the unsteady car(s) in front of me or have to let a car pass that gets close behind me. Move over before the inevitable SR Down from a rear bump in the corner while avoiding the struggling cars in front.

On average, down down down.

It only gets worse of course the lower the DR. Last race I was stuck behind a car that was doing the slalom in every corner until he finally got a penalty from hitting another car enough times to go off track and I could use the gas pedal for almost a lap. It's not that they're blocking or swerving deliberately and I probably make them nervous as well by following behind in a slow sweeping manner, it's that the penalty system will randomly assign SR Down for any contact ending the clean race. Plus in real life you would not risk passing someone driving like that either

At 1K DR, still not guaranteed to start last. And a 1 point DR still likes to attempt those heroic dives. Fun stuff. 2 behind me next.

Dang, so much patience required for contact free racing. The fastest lap last race was 1:49.6. My 'normal' race pace is low 1:48's, yet I can't go faster than a high 1:52. So much contact in front of me, every corner. Different experience. Once I hit my goal it's time to qualify. I don't want to do that too soon since penalty system. 800 DR left. It's prime time, full D/S rooms. They do exist!

So why aren't all the races a standing start with false starts? It actually how some skill involved instead of mindless holding the throttle down.

From my experience at the back in Suzuka it mostly involves luck rather than skill. Sure it's fun to go from last to 6th in lap 1 thanks to all the T1 heroes that are trying to do just that in T1. Plus those false starts create some real chaos when a car in front gets held back. It's fun when you have the time for many races, not much fun when you only have time for one race and it gets ruined right at the start from cars spinning out all over the place.

It has some advantages, for example people that suddenly start top 5 and then don't know the proper brake point for that start position can create chaos as well. It would help if the warm-up simulated your start in the race so you could figure out where to brake for T1. (Although auto-drive starts seem kinda random now and then) At least warm-up is useful to figure out the brake point after pit stop.

OK, so I'm not at my target of low 47/high 46s at Catalunya, yet. Switched from the WRX to the Porsche, and I'm down to 1:47.561. I can see where I can go faster. I just don't have enough wheel time to actually do it. Still, I'm happy enough for now. Especially given how much I've used the wheel since getting it.

Most importantly, my bosses boyfriend is a little over two tenths slower than me.

I've done two online races. My first two with the wheel. Started 13th in both. The first (WRX) I finished 16/16. I clipped a wheel on the grass braking for turn 6, spun the car. Not a great start.

Second race (911 RSR) I finished 14th. Would have been 11/12th. But, I caught a 0.500 penalty. Balls.

Onwards and upwards, now.

I hit DR 1 and I'm still not starting last, 2 behind me :banghead: One almost hit me as well.

This is so nerve wrecking. You would think that competing against cars 6 seconds slower than you would be easy, far from it. Risk free passes simply do not exist when the car in front can't hold a line. I finished 12th, 1 position up, or rather 1 down, 2 up. I had to get out of the way of the car coming from behind while the one in front was doing the zig zag through a corner. It's like I'm on Canada's worst driver

Prime time is already nearing the end. Last one was B/S to D/S with 1:47 on pole. Hopefully the back will speed up a bit as well.

Didn't think about the chaos from fast cars. It works well for this weeks race as you have time to avoid cars who screw up.

Some good racing at Catalunya today. I seem to lose grip going into the corners on my primary account. Maybe I’m just braking too late...

Regardless, a couple of good races, but I can’t get into the low 46s. Mid 46s to mid 47s all day long. Need to find some speed. I bet a second is in the chicane.

1? As in, not a typo, the number before 2?

How?!

Starting from the back and on average only gaining 3.6 positions per race. Average finish position of 10.9, thus DR loss.

@Sven Jurgens are you still in your clean streak, if so what are ya up to now?

I'm currently up to 70, although tbh it's not entirely continuous. I did eventually get tapped from behind a couple races while behind slow messed up traffic. I immediately quit the race which often, but not always, preserves the clean streak. Since I never went off track, nor hit anyone, fight broken with broken... It's still 70 clean races avoiding all contact.

It's getting a bit silly now, trying to race risk free contact free in DR.D. Too afraid to pass, best lap down to 1:57...

These are two of my best results while driving risk free

It's just another pointless exercise, getting to the top of the clean races leader board. Ugh again, rammed from behind while behind a weaving car. Now the agonizing wait to see if the 'rage' quit worked or if all my work is gone from one idiot not braking for a corner. PD really needs to fix this SR Down for getting hit from behind. To those blindly driving into cars, look where you want to go, not at what you want to avoid!

Ha, just saw @NosOsH on pole and won. Matched against the DR.1. The room where I got hit was one A/S on pole, rest D/S. That matchmaking! This one I got stuck behind a weaver again, finished 9th, not bad. Had some close saves again, the weaver tried to ram me before the finish, narrowly avoided. DR at 105 points!!! Clean streak saved.

What I do is I start in 1st gear with tc1. When the countdown shows 1 release the brake, don't wait for the "go" as the engine takes a second to engage so remember, release the brake at 1. And don't forget to set TC to 0 again.

Tried Race C. Quit.

Started 4th. Hit by multiple people on T1. Regenerate last. Stuck behind cars swerving unpredictably, wait a lap for a chance to pass, then get bumped off by them.

I decided a while back never to quit. I've quit twice in 3 races this week.

That's exactly what happened to me. To ram forward and block to the back the motto seems to be more and more players. So GT Sport is simply no fun anymore.
