Did you stop? How many people got to finish in your race? I think there was only 3/4 in the one I did.

I stopped once, also the leader, I did lap a few people, but I didn't pay attention to who finished. Had a best lap of 12.6xx, winner had a 12.5xx. I was 24 seconds behind him, he was consistent and quick.
 
I notice the player who is 5th on the world leaderboard for race B has the following stats:

Sport Mode Races 15 | Finished: 15
Sport Mode Performances 13,543 (in the Top 9%)

Someone early on in the process of building up a second or third etc account? It does distort the ranking system a bit if you constantly have people doing that who are much better than their ranking implies.

I doubt that many people are really in to resetting their stats. If I combined mine, not sure what they would be, maybe I will do that soon. I am best with road cars and I tend to stick to them. I have not yet figured out gr3,4, but gr1,x I am decent for some reason...

Edit for @Pigems 19.01.xxx for a 1 stop for me, so no stop is bad mmmkaay

I just did 2 race C attempts. Apart from getting banged around a lot in the first few laps it went pretty well. 5th and 6th place finish. The first race I barely made it before getting timed out, second race 40 sec behind the leader, mr @suprajef up there, well done!

The first race was rather lonely after the pit. Second race I had an awesome clean battle for 5th. Unfortunately since I was saving fuel a bit in the first half, I didn't have the juice in the end to take 5th and had to go back to short shifting to make it to the finish. Awesome race though. Second part made up for all the ramming and punting in the first few laps.

Perhaps I'll try a no stop after my hands feel better again, that car... I forgot to set the brake balance at the start, then it took 4 laps before I had a moment to get to the right page and adjust it. By lap 9 I finally had i back on the radar ugh. @Pigems looking forward to driving in fm5 and not worry about the car going anywhere else but forward when pressing the gas down :lol:

If you hit the Options button, and wanted to take a break for your hands, would the auto-drive do a lap for you?

Yup, very slowly though. I had to pause mid race last week to turn cones on at Suzuka and the car kept driving just like it does in a lobby. Also a tip for people using cones, if someone knocks over your cones, pause it, turn them off and then back on again and they reset. I do it during hot laps all the time so I don’t have to reset the session and lose the lap I’m chasing on the ticker just because I fudged my cones. :lol:

Where did you finish in the no stop? There was no Aliens in my race, maybe I just got lucky. :)

Did you get full rooms? The 7pm race I did only had 11 drivers and I was the only A. Last week there were full rooms of A’s and above with hardly a B in them.

It’s SO much easier to driver on less power, it actually makes it fun. But it may not be a good plan in faster rooms by the sounds of it from @suprajef . :)

Edit: I was 2 seconds behind the leader when he pitted in my race earlier, and when he came back out I had a 19.XX lead on him. So a pit stop is worth roughly 20 seconds depending on how much fuel they need.

More to come this week because I like race c, so far 1 stop is worth the time, I keep messing up though. Sub 19.xx.xxx very possible

No stop was no good. The room was too fast and messy. I got punted a couple times in the first few laps, then getting out of the way to let faster cars through is still tough in fm5. I finished 6th but I rather do the overtaking instead of pass while they're in the pit. The car is less deadly but my lap times were in the 1:16 range as well. In theory it's enough, but with all the bumps, punts and getting out of the way, that 1:16 is only half the laps.

Back to one stop and 1:14 laps (I'm slow)

I ended the night on a 4th place finish in a pretty fast room with @suprajef and @NosOsH in the race. I got so close to getting under 1:14, 1:14.036. One lap I was 0.3 ahead on that yet had to slow down for the final corner, traffic. Tomorrow!

Slow and steady seems to be the best strategy, with one stop. At least the race is long enough to negate any damage of the first one or two laps. T3 seems to be my nemesis as that's where I most often get punted to (nearly) last in T1. Got to remember to go on the inside there.

I'm not sure if anyone else has tried to contact PD about bad online behaviour, but I just did to no avail. I tried the online chat and I tried to contact one of the PD forum moderators, but no luck.

I realize this is a game. But when a person is out there with the sole purpose of ruining other peoples' races, I feel it should be called out. We don't need those types of people out there. Nuff said. I need a drink. :lol: :cheers:

Wow the Race B this week is a giant S show of idiots. Everyone dive bombing and attempting ludicrous passes. I swear PD need to up the lap count, with so few laps you end up with a demolition derby of idiots. I had to quit 2 races tonight because it simply wasn't worth sticking around to be rammed. PD also need to remove the penalty for leaving a race. If PD aren't going to properly manage the races and weed out the idiots, don't penalize the good drivers who don't want to be apart of a wreck fest.

Race A-Why on earth I lose 3600 DR and 16 SR point after I drove clean race without penalty and 1st place victory. Its bewilderment. I save the replay video but couldnt figure out to upload to here for u to witness. Its almost got me to crush the GTSport disc. lol

Happened to me last month. Got a 2nd place AND clean race bonus and got hit with a 7,000 DR points drop :confused:

Boy, you have been in a room with other drivers, but your DR was much higher than others. So the system thinks you will win, but you did not. In this case you win for getting +-0. Also the second place is with a ----.
I know it from yesterdays nations Cup, lose 2000 DR with a 6th place.
 
Not sure if it’s been mentioned before, or if a poll has ever been done. But I think a quick way to clean up some of these races would be to do quali as a 2-3 lap average based on consecutive laps in quali.

Last night I had a driver qualify ahead of me for B race, but he clearly had only set a lucky magic lap because during the race he was a mess. Some of these guys can only hit that perfect lap 1 in 10 times and the rest are 1-2sec slower because they make mistakes on the other 9.

And the SR system is a joke. Seems everyone’s got a S these days despite dive bombing, or pushing people off track mid corner due to zero race craft. If you’re going to do a last second but reasonable lunge for the inside of the turn that’s fine....but if we’re side by side you need to leave me room as well. If you can’t do it in a controlled manner then don’t do it. End rant.
 
Finally got win number 9 and first this week earlier on my GTP account. :cheers:

So many 2nd places before that, some fair and deserved, others not so. One driver went off at Surtees on the last lap but blocked the middle of the track when returning to the track meaning I couldn't avoid hitting him, so nice speed boost for him and win and 2nd for me. Then another just clean sideswiped me off at Druids as I passed him for 1st on the last lap, he got a penalty, it was for less than the time I lost, so 2nd again.

Of course the most common reason I've finished in the 2nd-5th region is that I ran out of time to catch the leaders because of all the traffic, sometimes they are just too fast too. Also Lap 1 is just chaos and yet it's still great fun. :boggled::lol:

That's odd. The theoretical maximum you can lose in race A is 3,260, 11x160 (If all other drivers are at least 40K DR lower than you), you finish last and get the de-level 1,500 extra loss. What was your SR after the race? Was it a DR reset?
 
Yes you can't lose DR if you win, it's not possible, I beat low ranked drivers earlier and still gained 54. If it's happened to anyone it must have been a dc or DR reset due to the SR dropping too much. Like yesterday I saw someone go from top S SR to SR C in one race. :lol:

A DC after finishing still counts as finishing last. Results confirmed has to be shown first. If you lose connection before that, you might have crossed the line in first, yet will be counted as last.

It's always possible that PD adjusted the DR reset mechanic. The values on KP are not correct as I'm very sure I've been reset to 3K before.

That seems to have happened on day 86 of your profile. Your SR hit 20 that day as well. It was a DR reset.
The clean race bonus doesn't mean you always gain SR, it's a bit unreliable.

Actually nvm, that section you screenshotted doesn't fit anywhere in your stats, different account maybe?

I've been a bit surprised with the lack of participation from players who are regularly seen in the top Oceania split for FIA races. Either they're doing race B or just aren't in sport mode.

Or they don’t want to race with idiots who can’t race clean. I know last night tested my patience. Doesn’t help that the tracks this week are terrible for racing especially with idiots. It’s better with more technical tracks that also have good passing areas, less of a destruction derby.
