Do most of you guys have your PS4’s hardwired? Is that better? I’m just on wifi but my router is only 15 feet away so I could get a cable easy enough if it’s better that way.

Definitely go with the hardwire. Even on a fast Wifi connection service will be intermittent. I host eLearning Webinars at work and all of the intermittent cut outs that customers complain about are always due to Wifi usage.

I don't trust the wifi. My router's about 20 feet away, but I run the cable from my bedroom, past the bathroom, past the front door, and into the living room into the system. I have to move the cable out of the way, every time I go out the door. I should probably get some thumb tacks and attach it to the wall above the door.

Yes mine is hard wired. I never went wireless because I heard stories about people getting disconnected a lot by wifi.

Yes, hard wired is the best route to go imo.

More fun in race a this morning.. i really hope they keep doing groups instead of one makes. I know it becomes essentially a one make, but i love having a choice and some people are faster with different cars.

Highlight of my morning so far...

Still can't hit a 57 though....

Oh, and as others have said always, always hard wire my ps4. The router is like 3 feet away but i don't care, it just seems to be better on a wired connection

I'd say track learnt :) 4C and this track is a blast!!!! So fun! Drive it like you stole it.

Also had some good battles with TTG_Zennit but he's much more consistent than me.

I screwed up 1 corner on the uphill just before the bridge / gantry too... i think i could of been sub 51.5

with all respect why a US account if ur not from US ? Don't U tink they separate server 4 a reason ? LAG and Fluidity . Everyone complain about lag and penalty system but play on the wrong server lolll ? WHY ?

I see significant improvement when using a cable. Especially because I have the OG PS4 so it can only connect to an 2.4ghz wifi network. If I am correct the Slim and the Pro can connect to 5.0ghz what is allot beter. But the best is hardwired.

It's better, no chance of any interference then. You should always hardwire where possible.

Thanks for the info guys, looks like I need to find a cable, Thanks!
@Pigems, this is my half-assed operation.

Nice! I used to have two 100’ Ethernet cables at one point before wifi, I’d run them all through the house wherever someone needed internet lol. I had holes drilled through the living room ceiling and floor to run them Up/Down stairs when needed lol.

I get your point. I would also like to go on with the dalies but with the pace I have now I will most certainly mess up my DR/SR and will be in the way for allot of racers.

When I got my wheel I actually set up a new account so that I could get into the dailies without messing up my stats on my main account. Good fun it was too and not a bad way to learn! I worked through the driving school and mission challenges too for practice.

I still use the account from time to time if I want to blast around a daily with slower drivers.

I'm in race heaven this week.

Race A: what a fantastic idea, pitting a selection of cars from a golden era of road vehicles against each other! Suzuka East is turning out to be quite the proving ground for these motors, and I keep going back with a different one because I'm certain a win is possible with nearly all of them. (Currently taken the W with the R33, Subaru and the Mazda, but I think the only one without a realistic chance is the Evo which is a shame).

It only dawned on my after reading this thread today that the assists are off. I'm definitely benefiting from always having been a DS4-assists-off kinda guy.

Race B: Autopolis, I hardly knew thee.
Now I'm seeing exactly what this course has to offer, with the slightly slower Group 4's I'm able to appreciate the finesse required to negotiate that tricky final sector. Another race where I feel like the meta car (in race terms, at least) is much less apparent.

As such, I keep going back to these two races with an open mind each time, and for a change I'm happy that I've got 7 days to keep going.

Thanks PD!

Hi all!

I decided to de-lurk for my one year anniversary on GTS. Since I’ve raced against a lot of you and learned a bunch too I figure it’s time to join up.

I’m an average driver, almost always a C but right now hitting the lofty heights of B! I try to maintain an SR of S but last week’s Tokyo walls put paid to that. Climbing back up while gradually falling down the order in race B this week.

I’m a foamy-mouthed racing fan and grew up around club racing as my dad built a Formula Ford car in the 70s when I was a kid.

The wheel and joystick discussion above reminds me of a dream I had recently where I was driving a real car with a DS4. It didn’t go well, and I expect that would be the real life result as well.

I want a wheel but I’m not getting one until I can afford the full magillah Fanatec setup.

Nice to meet you all and join the community!

I still can't get out of SR B. There's always some idiot on the straight trying to nudge me off of the track with the back half of their car. Then they freak out when my car gets destabilized and they punt themselves into the wall, frantically chasing me and trying to dive bomb me for their spot back.

I don't understand what they think I'm supposed to do in that position that would keep them happy.

As someone who works in IT - please please please hardwire in! For goodness sake!

WiFi will do if its really impractical or physically can't. But if you can then there's really no excuse.

Until the world runs on WiFi 6 you're always gonna struggle with a decent connection if your Mrs is upstairs streaming something on Netflix at the same time!

My reaction to those kind of drivers can vary, wildly, depending on which account I'm using.:mischievous:

I tried a daily B again at lunch time. It was going well, made it up to 9th. Yet then in T1 the car behind me started braking late and diving for my inside. To avoid him I lifted a bit to take the turn wider, my dumb car started sliding on the kerb. The car that started braking late hit me, spun me around yet he left the road first so I got a 4 second penalty, -6 SR for the race. Finished 14th. I'm out again, the game is just making me angry this week.

I assume you'll be sticking with race C, next week. The B race at Interlagos, will certainly have tons of drivers who can't figure out when to brake for turn 1.

In all honesty, the only thing I don't really like about Race A is that it's N300 on Suzuka East. That class of car works better on the full Suzuka circuit. East is a fun layout, though. I ought to use it in more of my lobbies.

Yep, although it's been a while since that track has been on and I imagine the chicane will provide plenty examples for penalty system analysis  The two transitions between the two tracks are also notorious dive spots. At least it's a long race and usually fine after the first 2 laps.

Interlagos GR.4 can kiss my 🤬

next weeks races

Great selection for me. I don't think there ever was a Race C at Kyoto since the the switch to weekly races. Very enjoyable track which has sadly not been used many times.

Tokyo Expressway - Central Inner Loop
SlipStream: Weak

I can't remember if slipstream was set to weak last time with this layout which I believe was with the Tesla. Either way, this is a welcome change from last week's Tokyo race with strong slipstream.

Welcome! Fairly new to posting on the forum myself too. Are you EMEA based? Could do with some locals to compare lap times with who are DS4 users. Feel free to add me on PSN if you want :)

Something is broken with race A, is everyone playing something else?

A second place and a 3rd.. What's not to like?

It confuses me. As I've said on here before... I take pride in a high SR (just don't look at my KP right now...) But race A feels like it wants to be a proper old fashioned banger race. Don't get me wrong. I'm not advocating deliberate punting and ruining it for others. But that one just screams contact and argy bargey and makes me wanna trade door handles! Without tanking SR and getting 3-5 secs for breathing in the same room as someone else. Maybe that's just me.

But I'm sticking with Autopolis and Fuji where driving properly is fun and productive!

You can drive clean in Race A. My races have been fairly uneventful in terms of contact. Some minor rubbing, but nothing that'll draw a penalty or ruin your race.
