Raced a couple more from the back earlier for the last time for a while. Race 1 was a mess, from me and everyone else and ruined early on, race 2 had a glitched start which ended well for me and then for the rest of the race a number of cars just spun off all by themselves and I finished in 5th, not close to the first few though, they'd have beaten me even if I started at the front. Need to get faster and more consistent at Fuji for certain.

Gr4 Lagos. It’s gonna be very very dirty. Best bet is to take the most stable car you can and run the tightest line you can everywhere. Don’t even give anyone a LOOK at an inside ANYWHERE.
I seriously doubt I will enter any dailies this week.
I actually did a few laps in the Ferrari last night, and that would be a fun car to use, but not with having to know you WILL get bumped. Better to use a viper or Aston or Mercedes or something of that ilk.
Imo, if you run a handling car at Lagos you need awesome qual, and your goal is to be the rabbit.

Don't know why, but Interlagos always brings the worst out of people. I love the track, but it's always a bloodbath.

Uhhh so what is the projected car meta for next week's daily gr4 race at Interlagos? I'm thinking the lambo is looking good and the TT.
Probably Veyron. ive been doing Custom Races and the straights are quite long. Gonna need some grunt.
I think the Huracan is going to be widely used because of the infield.
Scirocco will be perfect for the tight corners and straights.

I'm going with the M4. Started a New Game, up to Level 15 and it's the only car I own.

Will try the TT again next week. Should have enough grunt. I like 'Lagos too. I didn't have too many 'idiot' issues there with Gr.3 a couple of months ago.

I did run the Porsche in a Yamagiwa lobby a couple of weeks back and I was pretty able when it comes to keeping it on the black stuff. I fancy a longer race around there too. Could be good.

4C gonna lose much time with the whole straights so i want to doubt it'll work.

Probably Veyron. ive been doing Custom Races and the straight boys are quite long. Gonna need some grunt.

Cars which are slower on the straight will usually compensate with slipstream so I'm not sure you really want to be focusing on straights so much.

I think you guys mentioned that next week's Race A was an N100 at Tokyo Central, right? I'd bet it's a one-make with the AE86, but I could also see the Central course being good for a race that has the kei cars provided to you. City cars being driven on a city course, and one that's pretty tight in places, too.

I'd honestly love to see more kei cars be added, but perhaps just a few select ones, like the newer Daihatsu Copen that the VGT is based on, as well as the old Mazda AZ-1 - and perhaps a thoroughly updated Suzuki Alto Works.

EDIT: I'd also be fine if the OFC-1 Concept returned, too!

I've used the Atenza there and it's been a beast. However, it was a bit tough to outdrag the Veyron. Last time Gr.4 was there, was maybe this time last year. Unless, someone wants to dig in the archives.

Also the Evo. I think that was a strong car at the time. Still, cars like the Vantage, Huracan, Veyron, I'll add Mustang can compensate not being as nimble as the TT, Scirocco, etc.

Megane and Slophy might be the META. Should be interesting.

Uargh! That looks as if there's still deep of winter with all those naked trees! I'd choose to stay inside.

If the grass is green it’s time to play ball up here, having leaves definitely helps with finding wind direction/gusts though. :)

TC off, flick it like Vatanen. Do us proud.

Yup, no need for TCS, even on the wet course. They were actually all brand new carts, we were the first drivers, the course only opened for the season on Friday. The guys we were playing with bumped us from behind at one point and naturally my first reaction was to look up for the SR Down arrow.

Anyone else done testing for next week's C race at Yamagiwa+Miyabi II? I tried 4 Gr.3 cars, this morning, to see which one would work well for me. It only took about 3 turns in the Porsche to realize how unstable it is (I know some people can drive it well, but not me). My best was about 2:20. Only did 2 laps in each car, just to get an idea. I don't know if 2:20 will be bad or good.

@Pigems if you thought those downhill esses were tough to take flat-out in the Beat, wait til you try it in a Gr.3 car. I can almost do it, but I have to lift a little to make the last left.

Either way, I like the track and I think I'll spend most of my time at that track, next week. It's wide enough that there shouldn't be too much roughhousing. But there are a couple places where I could definitely see some paint getting traded.

I remember it well!! I’m gonna start testing later tonight, right now it’s nap time. I ended up playing 18 instead of 9 today. :)

This was the highlight of the day, 50* wedge from 135y, and yes, I missed the Birdie putt.

I ended up shooting a 48/37 with 3 Birdies and a hand full of pars mixed in with a few doubles and triples. Overall I struck the ball well though considering how long it had been, it was a fun day. :)

This is Canada. Ground isn't frozen. It's go time. :D

I pitch and putt all year round (in western Canada). Snow, ice, mud, in the dark with night balls, whatever. Doesn't effect my game at all..... still takes me 4 putts.

You guys are lucky out west, my Aunt and Uncle in Vancouver can play pretty much all year round most years. I wish we could do that here. :)

Ok back to racing lol, what’s the best cars to start testing on Kyoto?

Holy crap so many morons in Suzuka short today. Morons bumping you off track. Slow morons preventing you from passing and then the bumpy idiots catching up to you and hitting you.

Off topic but I recently learned that Daihatsu is owned by Toyota. 100% since 2016, before that Toyota owned shares, at one point up to 51.2% and the relationship goes back to 1967.

Also learned they built a concept car in 1973 called EV1. Electric RR 15Hp engine. Neat.

Hell of a shot! 👍 Nice round, too.

Try the Lancer and the Corvette. They both felt pretty nice, to me. Although there's about 30 others that I haven't tried.

I ran a few laps and Veyron is at least half a second slower than the Lambo. Managed a mediocre 1.37,7 with the lambo but I was pleasantly surprised by the Vantage as it seems quite potent at 1.37,9. Got 1.38 flat with the Ferrari.

Either gonna be AE86 or Honda Fit. I don't see BoP On in the kudosprime events sadly.

Thrilling Autopolis four lapper..
I jumped into the Alfa and practiced the off-throttle turn in till I was satisfied.
After that I Custom Raced against Gr.3 level a.i. just to pump myself for the real deal, the Autopolis race.
Here is my stream starting from the ai battle:

Conclusion: practice and make your mistakes with the Gr.3 a.i. - to reduce the human drama. ;)

Super lazy this morning and just did my daily miles on Race A + a few practice laps. Got pole. But couldn't hold. Finished 2nd. Gained some DR and SR. Nice reward for minimal effort.

I've been working on my pool today, cleaning up, getting the winter leaf net off, pumping some water off the winter cover. Thursday it will be open, current forecast for Thursday, 8 degrees and rain lol. No more night frost, time to open the pool. I have no heater and it will likely be in the 50's, good enough to jump in and straight out again

I also took my bike out for a 2 hour ride. Perfect day for it. On the way back I found a Eastern hog nose snake stuck at the kerb of the road. I tried to chase him back to the other side to the river but the dumb thing kept trying to climb up the sidewalk, too high. He feigned a couple strikes then played dead when I didn't back off. I finally picked him up and brought him back to the river. I don't like seeing flat snakes on the road.

BBQ burger time after getting home, great day in Canada!

Bad news for golf players, the local golf course is getting converted into more house :(

Perhaps they'll turn the couple holes on the river into a nice park :/

Yep, mentioned the Vantage. Surefooted and fast.

I did some racing again; had a couple of races at Suzuka; got beaten up and was sitting on level C - about to be demoted. That had not happened to me - so I got smart, and from pole, let the second car through, no worries. Sat close behind for the rest of the lap, and passed him on the straight. I was a fare bit quicker ... but he punted me at the end of the straight - into my rear end, off I went into the sand, and I got penalty. So got relegated.

But so now I learn't what that is like - it takes just three races to go from an A SR and an A driver to being a C and a C driver. And really that is the intent of the game - to demote you, so you have the fun of winning lots of races against much slower drivers? Really, they should have a relegation area so the real C and B drivers don't end up racing against guys who are a fair bit faster. At Suzuka I was racing gaining 1.3 seconds a lap and winning by over 10 seconds. No point for me being out there and unfair to the guys battling behind. But the game then gives them an incentive to crash into the faster car to win - its the only way they will. So really, the game wants people to hit others out in order to win. The game even gives a lower rated driver more incentive to crash into cars that are higher DR rated.

But curiously, I only won about 60% of my races - probably due to my loss of race craft. There are two effective areas on the short course at Suzuka to hit/pass a car - at the first dual right hander corners - use the second one, and you can use either side. One effective way against me, by a fast driver who was worried about me - was to at the second part of the first dual right corners at the end of the straight - enter the corner from the left side of the straight, hence having more speed than the defensive car on the right side who hugs the inside right corners - then hit that car going into the second corner with greater speed because you run a wider line, just hit his - the car on the right hand corner - his left side, then bounce or turn onto the grass, grab some sand, loose a second, and get rewarded with a 4 second penalty to the car you hit.

That happened to me and I lost my cool - so with my 4 second penalty, I sat in front of the jerk, and weaved around, and the pack caught us. My race was over, but I was pissed. I wanted to touch him and then go into the sand - but he was too smart. Ahh well I went from B SR to a red C - almost a D. I think because of the 4 second penalty, plus having in front does incur SR penalties it seemed with that red SR C demotion. Weirdly I got back to SR B in one race. Strange.

The other place to take a car out at Suzuka short course Eastern, , is entering the main straight. Just take a tighter right hand corner and aim for the car in front. you'll be faster and then touch them off the track. You'll go faster too because the outside car stabilised you. There seemed to be no penalty for doing that. Even if the outside car goes onto the sand on the left of the main straight (yeh that happened to me until I wised up and took a tighter line).

Anyhow its been fun to be back but the net still sucks. The Japanese guys get first rate racing, but most of the rest get three yellow bars. Its OK up in front but in the pack, it doesn't work well at all. I'm now a sub 58 time too and my best lap in the race in front was a 58.094. I ran there fast last laps - 58.186, then 58.135, then 58.094. Then the next race, I raced three last lead laps - all 58.433, 58.445, 58.448. Same lines, same throttle - but 0.4 seconds slower. What goes on with the game? A race apart? Weird ...

And the sub 58 came because of the long wait between races ... why is that? Don't they want us to race? There should be a maximum of a 4 minute delay please. Or a mini race with 10% gain or loss in DR, you can join the race from the pits, and go into say 3rd place. Count points from each lap's position. Racing is more fun than qualifying.
