OH NO!

ITS GODZILLA!

Erm.... no... It may have a GT-R engine and the French government may be trying to call the shots at Nissan, but it's still a Renault :p.

*This* is Godzilla :sly::

Holy ****, Race C has been a blast this week! The RBJ is so much fun in those high speed turns. Even a decent number of clean races, just finished 3rd behind a couple of A drivers after a race with no mistakes... I'm not the quickest, but a stable performance is rewarded in the C races :D

The BMW and me are best friends, i changed to that for Race B and since that i have had nothing but that special GT-Sport feeling when everything comes together. And something special happened in this race.. 14 cars (1-14 = me) was within 1 seconds in their Q laps. Close field = close racing = fun

This is how @Pigems rally races. I'm no expert, but I think it works best if you just stick with the forward gears.

That was a fun replay to watch. 👍
By the way, where's the incident report for that race?

I completely forgot about that!! Forward wasn’t working very well so I figured I’d try Reverse!!

The computer that handles the incident reports crashed and then burst into flames after that race

I'm grumpy. Grumpy grumpy.

I had an RCZ Gr3 win in the palm of my hand and I was punted off the track. The culprit tried to tell me that I couldn't go from "defensive to the racing line" (I 'didn't btw) but that doesn't account for him using my brakes to stop his car.

That fellow has put himself into the "i'll put him off if I see him" list until further notice.

For me week is coming to an end. I ran almost exclusively B-Races; managed go get back to SR S, mostly gained positions but had only one victory.

I started with the RS.0.1 on monday but tried many other cars: Vantage V12, M6, F-Type and a few others. I avoided the R8 and Porsche (I only tried some Q-Laps but wasn‘t too impressed).

I also did some light preparation for the upcoming Goodwood-Events: F-Type, Porsche, Vantage, M4 — all work well. I constantly reached high 1:17s/low 1:18s on hards with BoP enabled. I didn‘t check about the tire and fuel management, though. The Veyron doesn‘t work (understeering and the feeling of racing a Leopard-II-tank)

I haven't tried any of the Gr.4 cars on the Goodwood track. But I have a feeling that the Lancer and WRX will be formidable. For one thing, the grid start will be an AWD advantage. Also, that terrible chicane at the end requires nimble handling, which they've both got. Not sure the Huracan will work, because it slides so much. Again, I haven't tried any of them on that track, but I've driven thousands of miles in all of them, and can picture the Lambo doing a lot of lawn mowing.
FWD? Feeling skeptical about them, due to the high speed turns.
I guess none of this really matters. It's all speculation. Bored, at work again. :indiff:

Too bad the first race at Goodwood is in aero cars. I was hoping for a Shelby Daytona one-make or something.

I’m a to do some testing, I’ll let you know the results. The chicane actually isn’t bad so far in other cars, you seem to be able to take it quite fast. Plus we have new physics now that has probably shaken up the order as well. :)

I did a custom race there, this morning in N100 cars. I turned the shortcut penalty setting up to strong, and tested it on the first lap by going around the chicane to the right. You can almost do it flat-out. Anyways, the penalty was 2 seconds. In the upcoming race, if that's the only consequence, rather than being reset before the chicane, some people will be doing it.

@ARTAsean Agreed. Something at least 70s or older would've been nice.

I have been avoiding the R8 and 911 because I feel like having advantages in different parts of the track can help you out more than just the outright fastest care (even though I don't consider the 911 to be that).

I like the RCZ for consistency (although I haven't been able to do better than podiums with it) and I REALLY liek the Huracan there, but I like the Huracan everywhere.

BTW, I think the update changed the tire model just slightly. The Huracan feels better than it did earlier in the week. It's not as slippery at the rear.

Testing for next week is done, the new update definitely shook things up a big. NSX and McLaren came out on top!

Is YouTube messing up for anyone else today? I tried to upload a clip and it’s not working, now I can’t even get the app to load on my phone or tablet to see what going on with it?

NSX is always the first car I use when it comes to the weeklies, been a while since it was the meta (if it does turn out to be so)

Well, I guess the handling update has certainly impacted Gr.4, as well.

Had a couple of races before dinner last night, unfortunately a big dinner so no more races ... I got punted from 3rd on the first lap in the first, not re-set either, lost 16 seconds, but got back to 11th, and only lost 400 DR, it was a class field. The next race I came second, with only two Aussies in the race, all Japanese again except for me ... Toyotas first and 3rd, with the chap behind me gaining on the last two laps and I barely beat him, but he was clean. The winner though did a 6:55 time, and his best lap was a 1:21.852. Phew now he was fast ... Not many R8s now, and I suspect the Toyota is quicker.

But I can't qualify for nuts now - since training myself not to crash, I have lost my qualifying speed. I've got back my DR and I don't crash anymore (unless punted on the first corners) but I do need to develop two brains - qualifying and race. Sadly I am short of a brain.

I'd actually love to see the 650S doing well. It's one of my favorite cars in Gr.3 and 4 and it's a shame it's been uncompetitive for so long. It look amazing

Seems like it favours rear drive, mid engine before front engine, then FWD/4wd, and goes out of its way to stomp down the 'Vette while the Mustang maintains its relative performance? Maybe the track doesn't like AWD - I know the Lancer likes lots of turns, grip out of tight corners. I haven't tried the new track yet but besides the chicane it shouldn't suit a car that is just good out of tight corners ??? I hated the Lancer but now like it ... I'll be sad if its now a slow car ...

Take those times which a grain a salt, I was getting better at the track as testing went on, I had to re test a couple cars at the end because they were from the start and way behind. The Lambo was last until the second test. The Corvette could probably do better too with more testing. These were just initial testing numbers, 3-5 laps each until I felt I got a “decent” lap out of it. :)

Edit: Been doing some GoodWood testing in lobbies tonight, good fun so far. But, this dude is waaaaay too high to drive!!

Driving style is a factor in those tests, as well. If I tested those same cars, I'd probably come up with a different ranking. But it's good reference to know if a car is really good or really bad.

Had an hour to kill before bed. So, hopped in the trusty old Stena Lexus at Brands.

Qualy down 3/4 of a second, to 23.704.

Race one. Mehh.

Race two. Much better. I didn't actually overtake anyone. Just kept things tidy, and consistent, while everyone else pushed.

Could happen soon. 1979 and older might be in the cards. We sure have seen repeat tracks in Sport Mode. GW will be a winner for sure.
