I tend to stay away from the Gr1 cars cause they tend to ruin the game for me. I get use to their speed then when I go back to racing the Gr2-Gr3 (which I enjoy the most) I find them too slow and annoying and then I have to get use to them again :P

Hehe I know that one. My money maker race has been the 3 lap race at le Sarthe with the X2014 Standard. You get used to being in top gear with your foot buried in the foot well from Courbe du Buisson to the Found-On-Rubbish-Dumps chicane. Ya cant take Porshe onwards in 5th at full throttle in a Group C prototype .

Well I did my first daily race since sometime last year last night. I decided on Race C because I think that was the last daily I did before my hiatus and had a lot of success there. What a difference a year makes. First race I start 12th and spin right past Dunlap curve and fall to last place. Hard to catch back up in the Toyota when you have no one to draft with. Somehow managed to finish 12th despite numerous shortcut  penalties. Met @Winnie847 in that race who won from pole. So I decided to give it another go. Big mistake, I go off in the same spot again, hello last place. Even though I tried to take it easy I still was hit with 0,5 sec penalties. I even saw the DQ warning pop up. Got to race with a couple of backmarkers but screwed up and came in last.

I called it a night after that with my DR and SR still somewhat intact. I think my biggest problem is still adjusting to my new load cell brake. I either brake too early or too late, I can't seem to find that sweet spot. Of course it doesn't help when you get in a slipstream either. Just makes it harder to judge the stopping distance. I see in replays people slamming through the gears during braking and slowing in a shorter distance than I can achieve. If anyone else is using one of these I could use some tips. I'll keep practicing and hopefully there will be a combo next week I'm comfortable with.

Here’s one for everyone. This dude didn’t think I was clean on an overtake. Before this, he messed up T1 and drove downhill in the S out of bounds and hits me coming out. He wasn’t a ghost.

Anyway, I was gonna take him out for revenge but decided not to. Instead I did a tight overtake.

Also, wait to the end. It is very funny.

Good to see you back! Keep it up, you’ll get the hang of it again.

That lunge was so savage to the point that the M3 driver wants to send you into Narnia...haha!

Lol @Trone Colby
Good job, that’s why fr rules and handling cars drool :)

Had a good one there earlier. Looked around in a one make race and I am in a different car!

I pulled over after realizing it was a cheat...

What’s this Eunos stuff?

I haven't played since like early May but man do these cars feel different. I feel like they are even more slidey than I remember but than again it has been a long time. Ran a few laps on Daily Race B since I was practicing Interlagos on iRacing already. Best was a 1:31.944 but I still feel like there is still some time.

This is due to a physics update that came some weeks ago, making racing cars feel more understeery.

Finally racing at la Sarthe.

It's a mess. As is the penalty system. Someone spins, and I can't avoid them. Manage to JUST clip their back end as they slide across the track. 5 second penalty.

I think I had a race against you yesterday that was pretty clean (my PSN is Os_Lads). I was on pole and you were in second.

EDIT:

I didn't screenshot much last night. But, got a couple of races in. A 9th, and two 7th place finishes. Losing positions in each. Rooms that late were a fairly even mix of A and B/S drivers. Not helpful with my lack of pace, that late.

Then this happened. Not bad considering the A/B mix. Couple of 0.500 penalties in there. Even without them, I wouldn't have won. The pole sitter/winner was lapping consistently at my Qualy pace.

Aaaaand, time for one race today. Bit easier at this time of day, a full 20 car grid, all B/S. Pole sitter had a qualy lap a tenth or so faster than mine. Managed to outbrake him into Mulsanne on lap one, then it was simply a case of consistent laps to build a 7.6s lead, and take the win.

My first ever Gr.1 win, and no' 18 overall.

The overtake that sealed my win . .

DR is now higher than it's ever been before (26,490) and SR is back at 99 after a couple of messy races last night.

Yep that was me in your second video

Congrats on the win

I thought that was an OK pass... But then I'm historically guilty of the divebomb, so I'm not exactly neutral...

You didn't come from too far back and let's be honest, I think it was kinda on him...

He wasn't exactly defensive. He may not have known you were that close, but this is why I drive with bumper cam with RV mirror. If he wanted to defend he should have been all over the inside line and you shouldn't have had a look in. Failing that the good old radar should have let him know to leave you space...

Though going by how badly he failed in his wipeout attempt we could just call it a general lack of skill...

I'm not typically one to complain about the daily races, but I seriously can't believe we have Suzuka again this coming week.

It's even one of my favorite tracks where i usually pick up a lot of wins and DR...but something has to change PD. This is well beyond the point of ridiculous.

Your pass was definitely dirty to me... you had zero overlap and lunged for the apex right into him. Classic dive bomb.

Doing mainly race C this week reminded me of holidays in France in the 1980's.
We would drive over to France for a week, either driving from place to place or staying in a gite.
One year, can't remember which, we were driving through La Sarthe and I made a detour past Mulsanne so so I could drive the Mulsanne straight.
My God but it seems a long way in a 2CV . With 3 passengers and luggage I managed to top out at about 65 mph.
Fortunately front wheel drive so no danger of flipping it!

I am firmly entrenched in the camp of "let the game call it". If you didn't get a penalty, it was a clean move. Anything beyond an in game penalty is merely opinion.

Had a look through N200 cars and next weeks race A could be the Dino. Took if for a spin around Goodwood and its certainly a handful. Good fun though. Will be interesting with other people around trying to keep it pointed in the right direction

I used the Dino in a lobby race, this morning. Even with Sport Soft tires, it wasn't easy to drive. Very little lateral grip. Sport Hards would be very challenging.

i often pick it in lobbies. Carries speed beautifully if you aren't worried about a little opposite lock action.

wouldn't consider myself a Ferrari nut, but dino, 512, GTO, F40 are all high on my list of fun cars in this game.

Yeah it just wants to rotate all day long the moment you lift lol, I tried it the other day on a GoodWood. It would definitely be a challenge. :)

That was weird doing that race with the mechanical damage turned on. I took a turn too fast and hit a wall. After that, my car was pulling to the left.

If you hadn't made contact with him, would you have stayed on the track? Horrible divebomb for me.

I've made a guide on how to set your fastest lap. The technique is called 'S.C.A.R.P.' After this approach, I was consistently getting into the top 10 on the leaderboard.
I've noticed a lot of people making the same mistake over and over again, such as constantly restarting the lap after turn 1. So I hope my technique helps :)
Just to note that I'm producing these videos with basic equipment, so apologies for that. In the future, I may invest for better stuff.
