This weeks Race C is just awesome. It looks like less power equals better and more intense races.
I just had some of the best fights and most entertaining races of the year with the Mazda Roadster Touring on Suzuka.
Battles side-by-side through multiple corners and great overtaking maneuvers.
For those who didn't try this yet, give it a go at the weekend!

Here´s one race with an awesome three-way-battle for the lead from yesterday! 👍

No time for races tonight, but had few Q laps with Supra.
1:33.979 BB 1
You really need to attact those 1 sector s-curbs to keep pedal to the medal there.
Few clear mistakes in this lap, so few tenths still to gain. I think that this time will give quite good spots for start grid thou.

Disaster week continues. Sport Mode is a farce.
Decided to try Race C today. It was a very bad idea.
For those of you who love Race C... why?
Since I was demoted to B/A yesterday for the crime of being hit by others, it's decided the only correct match to make is to put me with 3 other B/A drivers starting 1-3, the rest a mix of a few C/S and mostly D/S drivers, because that makes perfect sense for a fair and balanced race.
Race 1: Everyone around me at the start is DR C or D. Both cars on the row in front of me false start, but don't ghost immediately meaning I have to avoid them. Somehow get an SR down for not touching them or anyone else. Mystery.
And so it goes on. I get tapped from behind, I get SR down. Someone brake checks, messes up their line without any contact or hits my side when I'm alongside, I get SR down. Every single time I breathe, I get an SR down. I somehow only lose a few SR despite this, probably because my actual driving was cleaner than the sheets at a 5-star hotel.
Race 2: Even worse. Almost all C/S and D/S drivers, I'm driving as carefully as I can, it's a nightmare trying to avoid the bizarre lines and random braking points of the people ahead, who all move chaotically and unpredictably making it impossible to pass safely, so I don't. Lap 5, the D/S driver behind me slipstreams on the long flowing curve near the end of the lap, taps my rear into the slightly sharper left halfway round and then he runs a wide. I get a 1s penalty for causing a collision, despite never lifting off the accelerator and contributing in literally no way to the incident. He comes back onto the track after I have been given the penalty and uses me as his brakes into the chicane, and shock horror I get an SR down and a messed up and slow entry to the pit straight. Final lap, in the S section, a silver car ahead going slower screws up and runs wide, I'm at full speed and the door is so wide open it's practically an airport runway. He hits the outside curb and somehow snaps back across the track towards me while trying to straighten out. Slams into the side of me when he becomes parallel, hitting door to door. I manage to hold it on the inside line putting just 2 wheels on the grass, while he once again spears off to the outside and onto the sand. I get a 3s penalty for 'forcing an opponent off the track'.
Demoted to SR B, lost SR 28 in that one race.
So yes, Sport Mode has decided it will do its usual when you stray below SR 90, whatever it takes to make/force my SR as low as possible by only matching me with drivers who are rated extremely low (can't maintain a line, brake in the right places, or pass without contact), all getting big blue S rises at the end of the races while my SR collapses like Jenga in an earthquake. I'm back to B/B, which I always hate because it's impossible to get a clean race no matter how hard I try.
The decent clean race streak I'd built up over the last week in B/S that got cut short yesterday feels like a very distant memory.
Why couldn't it match me with other DR B drivers at all? Why has it decided based on that terrible day yesterday that I am poisoned fruit and must be sent to death? This game is zero fun in the lower DR/SR leagues. It's stressful being unable to predict the movements of others and be at the mercy of them for any incident, and then be punished for it.

Sidenote: The Roadster TC's performance is wildly uneven between quali and race. Steering acts completely differently on the same settings between the two on fresh tyres, and mine somehow lacks acceleration or the ability to slipstream others. My lap times in race (accounting for other drivers) are significantly worse than my quali lap, and there is no good reason why that should be the case. It's the same issue my Gr3 Supra suffers from between quali and race - it just won't steer or grip the same way in quali and race.

Tire wear and the marbles on the edge of the track make a HUGE difference, I feel like its about a second off the non-tire wear time (for a 70 sec lap time). Just beware for that first turn, a lot of people will be making that same mistake of thinking the physics are the same so be ready to drive accordingly.

Wow, this is impressive! You didn't stay in D or C for very long. I've been in D Since late June. I clearly didn't heed #1 until two days ago - which is do your best in qual.

Thanks!

Qual lets you win places before the race starts, at least that’s my thinking.
It also matches you with others around at similar ability. I never buy it when people blame everyone else for low sr.
Sure drops here and there happen but imo each of us is responsible for our sr.
Ultimately I just love driving. I’ve done a lot of it. Race driving not as much, so I used ‘the book’
Seems to be working for me. I think I’m kind of finding a comfortable home at A.
A plus requires a lot more.
Pretty happy just racing in a way I enjoy.

Did my 420 sport mode win this morning in daily C now over 60 000 DR . Yesterday i had a awesome race with FT-Crafty53 and Kvden- we finished the race in the same second after 8 lap and it was awesome clean door to door racing i like this Combo might do a few race this evening

Great fun racing with @Dairyworker this morning. Actually in the last race there was only 1 driver I didn't know yet and he was clean as well. Awesome race, approaching the chicane in a tight clump and all carefully merging into single file to take it without a hitch. So awesome when everyone can keep the car under control and works together.

Before @Dairyworker showed, after many many second places

It finally happened!

@Dairyworker won the race after, well done!, and I only made it to 5th. However it was a great close race with another clean driver from the back and I managed to improve my best lap time to 1:52.883, finally through the 1:53 barrier! Great morning! Happy Fridays!

Congratulation on all those “farmed wins” mate.

Only players with 23 wins from 700 races are authentic isn’t that right @watto79 ? ;)

No lonelier feeling than cruising abound Tokyo in the dark, in a car that sucks, so far in last place that you can barely see the taillights of the car in front of you, knowing you still have to serve 10 seconds in penalties because hitting the wall in the chicane, which brought you to a dead stop, somehow gave you an advantage.

Not doing that 🤬 race again. :indiff:

@sturk0167 she's not so bad if you take the time to talk to her and ask her what she wants/likes lol i have really come to like this combo and even went back to the time trial with no tc and killed my previous time. You really need to listen to her and constantly be working the pedals and wheel to give her what she is asking for, but when you do the reward is almost as good as sex lol

Also, as a side note. I was playing with my headphones on this morning which i rarely do. Braking hard into a corner with another car on my right, and a half car length up on me,so his exaust was right beside my driver door. Well let me tell you the amount and intesity of the eargasms i had when the beast crackeld and pop right in my ear was a thing of unseakable beauty.

Thanks. I know the problem is mine. X button. Oh well.
Having fun at race B, though.
I think that after a few more Bs, for a good laugh, I'll go see how badly the Japanese can kick my ass at Suzuka.
We're now talking alt, alt account. Dfl is not a problem.

After playing the daily sport mode races for the first time in a while over the past week, i would like polyphony to add a race engineer voiceover like the one in iracing that tells you stuff like "car left" "car right" "all clear" because some peoples spacial awareness in online races is absolutely terrible, plus the little red indicator on the hud doesn't always work properly.

BUT anyway..... on a more positive note, the mazda roadster touring car race is absolutely excellent and extremely fun. It's the most fun I've had in a while on a online racing game.

i love those "forcing another car off track" 5 sec penalties , what about car which forces itself off track then hit you? yep the game magically determines that it was your fault anyway

4C will get smoked. Try the Jag for something different. I do find the beetle really good to race with as it doesn't get easily unsettled and carries huge corner speeds.

Yah have to remember who it is yer addressing. @RacingGrandpa like me is DR/D. There is no "best car" . DR/D is less about being fast and more about being consistent... especially on tracks like Yamagiwa. Stay on the track and you will gain places 👍.

@Pigems are you going to open a lobby tonight? I saw you had one earlier, but when I tried to enter you must have just left.

Naw not tonight, I was just practicing for my league race tonight, 45 laps of Mt. Panorama in the Gr3 NSX. I had to go back into the video to get the pit stop times and it exited me from the lobby because I took to long, sorry that I missed you man. I host the Daily Race lobby on Saturday nights at 9pm EST, hopefully you can make it out again tomorrow. :)

I'm hovering in the low B range for DR but I have to agree with you. Keeping consistent laps was a major point in me gaining out of D and C ranks. Also lots of time learning the ins and outs of precision passing and only taking the solid clean passes. Getting up to B I've now got to stay consistent, but also keep within a second of my qually time pretty much every lap to keep gaining. That's where race C matchmaking was killing me. Starting in the back of an A/A+ lobby with a (for me) quite fast lap time, and already 2 seconds a lap slower than the guys in front. Lapping as fast and smooth as you can with no hope of scoring points or passing anyone because your lobby is freakish does suck. Makes that long race that much longer. I'm sort of over it this week as no matter what there is something about Race B that I just can't figure out, and that's just the lap before I think about the carnage in the race. Any idea when we start seeing leaks of next week's races?

Ok cool, I couldn't remember which night is was. I'm off tonight and was hoping it was tonight. If I can get out of work early enough tomorrow I'll drop by. Thanks.

I tried stalking you at race B, but couldn't find you.

Have not posted in a while, but I have been in a slump and I have been trying to recover and tonight everything just clicked at Yamagiwa. I did a 1.34.324 that gave me a pole in the race, and after a shaky chicane I started to get some confidence and kept a good pace to keep the pack at bay. I needed this .

Well I'm at 557 of 8392 races...
Tp9d.jpg

Not my fault they all decided to take each other out. I managed to thread the needle several times yet tapped the wall at some point to lose the crb.

This is the competition in the top split room, Friday prime time...
Up9d.jpg

I was far off my pace while evading the mess and actually lapping people by the end. One race was enough since it was only a few inches difference between getting by the out of control fish tailing sliding spinning cars or ending up with a penalty for running into a sudden road block.

So yep, another farmed win in self destructive non competitive room.

Sorry man. I didn't race last night was too tired after driving home from the other side of the town after dinner at my bro's.

Then beetle or merc, most stable. Maybe the Aston.

So far I found the M3 the easiest. I'll probably try the Aston tonight, but every time they do a bloody update they screw up the way cars handle, so when you finally get a handle on a car, they 🤬 it all up. Which Merc? It's like saying to use the BMW :p.
